Any idea why I might have stopped you? >> No. >> Were you fiddling with something or distracted while you were driving? Cuz you were literally driving with both of your tires in the bike lane since Skyline. >> Oh. >> Like you were absolutely my cameraman and I were like, she's just driving in the bike lane. I just couldn't figure out why. You were like in in driving on the white line or over the white line the entire time. >> So I just couldn't figure out. Actually, I just >> was figuring that I might just get a midday drunk. So Sorry about that. >> No, that's okay. I just >> easier. I don't know what it was. >> Trying to trying to figure it out. All right. Had anything to drink today? >> No. Smoke any marijuana or anything? >> Okay. All right. You have registration paperwork and current proof insurance for your vehicle? >> Um, insurance is on my >> Oh, yeah. Yeah, we do that. That's a thing we do. >> Oh, your plates are suspended. >> My plates? >> H >> Why are my plates suspended? No. Something between you and MBD. But this is a Toyota RAV 4, right? >> Yeah. I just got it. Is it suspended or like processing? >> No, suspended. That's the word they used. I'll look into it a little bit more once I get in there. Okay. Well, that expired in August. So, >> um, it's current. I don't have the paperwork paperwork. I would have to like look up the user password and stuff. You have a second? I I have all the time in the world. It just that you you are it's required that that you be able to provide it. Um and if you don't, I'm going to take your plate because that's what Arizona law says that I have to do. >> Interesting. >> Mhm. Well, if you think about it, totally. >> One of one of the reasons that probably the mo the most frequent reason that people have their plates suspended is for lack of mandatory insurance. Um, so pretty much what MBD does is they will send you a letter in the mail that says, "Hey, you have to prove to us that you have ID within that you have insurance within 14 days. If you don't do that, you don't respond to that letter at all." What they do is they suspend your plate. And then if you don't have current insurance, we take your plate and then where do you go for a plate? MVD. And then they mandate that you show them insurance before they issue you a new plate. So that's kind of that's their workound is they're like, "Well, this is what we're going to do. we're gonna make you come to us and by doing that we will take your plate. So that's that's how all of that works. That's the how and the why behind it. >> Well, that makes sense. >> Yeah, it's pretty it's it's a it's a logical pretty linear reason why they do that. So everything that we talked about, none that we didn't. You're displaying uh plates suspended for financial responsibility and not having current proof financial responsibility. Um that is what your plates are suspended for is for for not showing. So somewhere in there MBD sent you something and you went, "Nah, I'll take care of that later." Yeah. >> Now, now is the later. >> So, I'm not going to take your plate >> um under the good faith under the good faith that you're going to have to take care of it cuz you're going to have to show the court proof of it. So, I'm pretty sure that you're going to do that. So, I don't need to take your plate and make things even more difficult for you than they already are. >> Get it done as quick as you can. Then you don't have to worry about anything. >> I appreciate you. >> Of course. Thank you so much. Thanks. All right, folks. You'll notice I'm wearing pink cuz it's the month of October and Panel County Sheriff's Office is supporting breast cancer awareness month. We're selling these patches at our Santan Valley substation and our Florence headquarters. They're only for the month of October. They're $10 a piece cash or check. The money is going to go to check for a lump. It's a 501c3 that directly supports breast cancer patients. So, buy a patch. Support a great cause. >> Hey there, sir. See your driver's license, please. Thanks. Well, I'm Deputy Slope. I work for the Penel County Sheriff's Office traffic unit. Reason I stopped you is back there on Puma. posted speed limits 50 or 25 and I locked you in at 44. Uh messy registration paperwork current proof insurance. >> How you doing, Frank? >> Man, all my days are good. Uh that one's good through December. That one's good through Christmas Day. >> All good. >> Well, I didn't recognize you, so I ran you in the system. And I put great notes in the last time we met, which was in May. And we met in May when I also stopped you for speeding. taking my dog to the vet >> and expired registration. That's right. And you were taking your dog and I I used all of the registration right away, Frank. Man, I wasn't worried about that. >> That's it. So, well, you got you got a little break then. Today, today time to pay the piper. >> I got you at 44 and the 25. So, you're 19 over uh Puma and Rattlesnake is the intersection just a little bit east of Puma and Kenworth. That's where I was uh right when you passed me. >> All right. >> As I humbly stand here at your window, any questions I can answer for you? >> Famous last words. No, thank you. I appreciate you being cool. Thanks for wearing your seat belt. You drive safe. [Music]
