I heard a sequence of shots and just silence. And for a moment I was really afraid to ask. Ma'am, are you still there? And then I finally did ask, like, are you still there? And I was so thankful to hear that she responded. Yes. I had the husband on the line. He told me like, yeah, I have bullet holes in my in my door. I think one hit me. He was just like in such shock. He didn't know if he was actually hit or not. You are bleeding. Okay. I'm Amanda Curtis and I've a dispatcher at the Pinal County Sheriff's Office for the last 4 years. My name is Stacy Gallant. I am an emergency dispatcher senior for the Pinal County Sheriff's Office. I've been a dispatcher for 5 years. 911, what's your location again, please? I received a 911 call from a woman telling me that her father had uh grabbed a gun and was threatening to shoot them. Multiple shots have been fired. He went back inside the house and she was just in sheer panic because her daughter was still in there. We're going to get her. We're going to get her. We're almost there. I just need you to try to get to a safe place, okay? No, no, no, no, no. I don't No, don't go back there. You need to stay away. He definitely wanted to go back to his wife and and his kids and make sure that they were okay. We have her on the line as well, so it's We still have her. Um she's fine right now. We're still talking to her. It's hard to tell somebody that they can't go check on their family, but you know, just the reassurance and making sure that they know that there's everybody that's coming to them lights and sirens and they're not they're not alone. It took everything I had to like remain calm and and tell her we're going to get your daughter even though like I was scared to death. I have two subjects outside. Deputy Slope was the first one on scene and I've never been so happy to hear his voice. He ran right up to her. He He said something to the effect of where's your daughter? And he was like, okay, we're going to get her. And and then it was a a happy resolution after that. All right, we're going to escort you to the door. Sending the child out. May copy subject is sending the child out. Child's out. Copy the child is out. One subject in custody, house is clear, one in custody. May copy the house is clear, one in custody. Clear everything. The deputies have the situation under control right now. We have plenty of units that are on scene handling the situation right now. Okay? Our jobs are to be there for somebody's worst day of their life. I do feel like it's become my calling. I love it. We do take some rotten calls, but to be able to be the calm for the caller and to hear a lot of happy outcomes and know that somebody got help to them and and was there for them in their time of need is like really rewarding to me. I've taken a few calls where I've truly helped save some people's lives.
