We're sitting out here with a cardboard sign asking for money, with a 9-year-old kid next to you. Yeah. She's not 9, but Um no, because the other family don't get calls. Why are we so stuck on the other family? Worry about you. I do worry about me. >> Who are you to worry about the other other family? If the other family was here, trust me. She don't face this much harassment like I do. Because I'm out here with her. I reported just for your information, even though this is irrelevant to you, I wrote a report for her. Okay. The reason why because she wanted resources for your information. Okay. It's all her four kids that she has. She's a black female with four little kids. For your information. >> She has four kids? A group of officers repeatedly approached a woman panhandling with her child over vague anonymous complaints, turning so-called welfare checks into constant pressure despite having no clear evidence of wrongdoing. When the woman calmly questioned why she was being singled out while other families in similar situations were left alone, the officers could only fall back on their duty to respond to calls, without explaining why anonymous accusations kept resulting in daily harassment. But instead of backing down, the mother continued recording, exposing the inconsistencies in their enforcement and accusing police of enabling targeted harassment against her. In the end, when officers failed to produce any evidence of neglect or criminal activity, they were forced to leave the scene empty-handed. >> Yeah. Ma'am, we're just doing our job. You know, we get this special call. Yeah. We make contact with you guys. Yeah. We just care about, you know, your child's safety. It's harassment. It is harassment. There's other things that I Yes, it's harassment. Okay. Okay. Yeah, I do. Is there anything we can do to help? I'm like, I'm not here to give you a hard time. Well, there's other cops that do do that, though. But I'm not I'm here just trying to help you. Yeah, they've been sending new faces now. Yeah. And it's part of the job. So, that's why I'm out here just to see if, you know, your your child's okay. But are you required to come though? Like You're required to come every time someone calls. And We're not It's not that hot. We're not sweating. Okay, well we're not sweating. We're obviously fine. Yeah. Yeah, she's good. Yeah, that's that's what she did. This is becoming too much. Y'all, this is ridiculous. It's everyday now. Everyday this week. Okay, but I'm not the only family out here doing this. Well No, not right now there isn't. But she comes she stands right here with three little kids. You guys never See, that's the thing. It's like picking. Of course it is cuz I'm being harassed out here, obviously. Yeah, cuz it's an everyday thing. This is like I'm being bothered now about it. What do I expect? I expect to be like left alone. It's not nine, but Um no, because the other family don't get calls. I do worry about me. And this is I She don't face this much harassment like I do. Because I'm out here with her. Yeah. Okay. Okay. She has four kids? Oh, I you know? It doesn't matter. So, what does that tell you? Like And why are they hiding their identity? It's obvious someone has it out for me. Obviously. I mean And I don't do anything like I don't bother people. I'm sure they are. I'm sure. Yeah, I'm sure. Yeah, that's what it looks like. I don't want to answer I don't feel comfortable answering a lot of questions. I get that. Well, the other officer you know, that's what I mean. Like it's it's Not every officer acts the same. Okay. Yeah. Right. Right. Yeah. Yeah. But y'all see this every day that she's okay, that she has water, you know, that she has usually shade with the umbrella and food. You She's okay. You know how many cops drive by here? I see cops all day every day everywhere I go all day every day. >> But here's the thing. We we got a call for service. So, we are obligated when we are dispatched to a call for service. Yeah. We are obligated to show up and make contact with the people that are involved. You being the person that was the description given along with your daughter. >> Yeah. You were the people involved. You saw me just walk out of Taco Bell, right? We went to the CVS. I didn't see you come out until we walked out of the CVS and we said, "There's a lady that's matching the description. Let's go try to make contact with her, see if everything's okay. We even made contact with the manager and they said they didn't want Yeah, because there is I'm trying to tell you. Right. But I'm trying to tell you they're doing this on purpose, okay? Cuz you're like you're having these sort of like inferences that like possibly somebody's out to get you or harass you. Mhm. But you keep random people but you're not really telling us who it might be. That's the case and if somebody that is harassing you there's options like an injunction and things like that that you can go seek. >> But if they're Okay, so if they're reporting anonymously, how do you go about like pressing charges for harassment? How do you go about that? I'm sure there's a way that we can figure out who it is, right? I'm sure Because this previously happened before. >> asking you is I'm asking you to like kind of give us a ballpark of who you think it might be but you're not really But you guys can figure that out though. There's a way for you guys to figure that out. Right, but when you're not really giving us any details and you're not saying anything. So that's why we're out here just trying to talk to you and get some information, okay? I I have that information. I do. I know path, I know it all. Like I know Well, whenever you feel like doing it if that's something that you want to do, you know that it's out there, okay? Right. Right. We're going to get out of here. Best of luck to you, okay? Thank you. All right, take care. Bye.
