Are you kidding me for coming to get my children? Can we go with insurance? My car at least will take care of it all. >> If you think it's okay to leave your kids in in a hotel room by themselves for 3 hours, you think that that's okay. That's a rational thing in your head. That you have >> irresponsible mothers don't just wreck their families, they drag the whole community into chaos. >> But um he turned over and she's like punching his back and stuff and like all How was he punching >> like this? >> Like fists just jabbing like >> No, I had my sister. >> She wasn't here in the video, so she wasn't. >> Okay, >> you can't lie with the video. >> I don't give a You said have to see everything. >> She believed she was right until justice spoke and no one could shout louder than the truth. She just wanted to do the right thing. But when the police arrived, everything was no longer as she had thought. >> Are you kidding me for coming to get my children? Can you show us my car at least? We'll take care of it all. >> As police tried to keep calm, the woman lost control and they realized this was no ordinary dispute. >> Yeah, you're on the speaker. He can hear you. >> Uh, deputy. I just was on the phone cuz Andy called me crying that Nick had picked up the kids on her day. And I said, "Well, make sure to keep me on the phone because he does make false accusations." And the last time that it was um the last time that it was her time, he came into her house and took the kids because the boy said, "We want to come. We want to come to your house, daddy." So, he came over, walked straight in her house without knocking and took the kids. Well, >> you know, he's calling like a little [ __ ] [ __ ] >> Let me finish. So, then, you know, Nick took the kids today on her day. And so the last time she spoke to a female officer um when this happened the last time Angie said, "Well, if it's if he takes the kids on my day, you're saying that I can go into his house and um and you know, remove my kids." And she goes, "Yeah, you can you can do that just like he did with you." So she wants it's her day. She has the custody agreement on her phone and she wants your kids. And the boys are way too involved in this whole custody battle. It's been just terrible. >> He doesn't care. He's basically like just scratching his face. He doesn't give a [ __ ] >> How old are the kids? >> Eight and 10. So they know how to manipulate. Also, I'm here. I'm getting my kids. >> Do you have the child custody agreement? >> Yes, I'm getting it right now. If you like I don't know. Want to stop picking? No. I'm being mean. No. No. Because nobody's been nice to me in this point. >> I haven't been anything but nice to you. Okay. I haven't yelled at you. I haven't done anything besides ask you your name, your date of birth, and what's going on. >> I I get it. I'm not happy though. I haven't done anything wrong. >> Okay, but don't point the fingers at him. He has nothing to do with it. >> Two children trembled as they recounted what no child should have to witness and their testimony brought a complete silence to the room. >> She said, um, so she was cha she got mad at my brother while she was drunk and started chasing him around the house. And >> today, >> no, yesterday. >> What happened today? >> What happened today? Um, I was just watching some YouTube on my phone. My dad was just sitting on the couch and then I just hear boom. I I'm just sitting until I hear my mom and my dad yelling and I come out my mom saying get over here now. Like um I can the only thing I could smell was like alcohol. Like she was really mean. She was like it's not like the first time it happened. It's happened like like a bunch of times. Like more more than 10 like so many times she's um hit us. She's hit us. And no it's just discipline. She hits us like multiple times, but like it it's just really difficult. >> Did you see her hit that? >> What? >> Did you see her hit then? >> Um um yeah, I was watching it then. Um but um he turned over and um she's like and punching his back and stuff and like all that. >> How was he punching? >> Like this? I'm like like this >> like like fists just jabbing like once or twice on the back and then he said out um like separate try to separate himself but he she kept trying to push and get in and like I said we were just like sitting on sitting on the couch just relaxing and then we just hear a boom and then all this happens. >> Police closed in making a decision that everyone knew was inevitable but the mother kept screaming believing she was only protecting her child. Are are you going to listen to what I have to say or no? >> Yes, I would love to listen. >> All right. Come talk to me, boys. Turn around for me. >> Turn around. >> I'm not getting I'm getting arrested. For what? >> Are you kidding me? For coming to get my children. Can you go turn off my car? At least for me. >> We'll take care of it all. >> What am I getting arrested for? >> I'll explain to you in just a sec. >> No, you should explain it to me before you put handcuffs on me, shouldn't you? >> Nope. >> Hey, you want to use these? This mower? Yeah, they're smaller than my uh Smith and Wesson. They're small small regular size. >> I'll put this inside your vehicle, man. I'm going to shut it off. Okay. >> Understand? I didn't do anything. >> I would explain it. Try not to make it. >> You weren't making a thing. You just walked me in. >> But I didn't do anything wrong. >> I didn't do anything. I didn't break any laws. I didn't even get my children. I'm the one that came here. They're just trying to protect my children. >> And you're leaving him with an abuser. >> Okay. >> Yeah, there is. And I was told to come and call the police. >> What? I didn't even do anything. I'm not resisting. >> You're solidifying him being an [ __ ] and letting my kids see me get arrested. >> They didn't see you get arrested. Have a secret. >> They understand. >> Okay. >> As the police car doors closed, she shouted about justice and truth. But her words revealed what she had been trying to hide all along. >> And they sit there and they will love being at their dad's house because they get to play all the video games and all the things. And at my house there's rules and they've sat there and they've lied through their teeth. >> Now everyone, communication, please don't have a way for me to change. >> Any statement you make must be freely and voluntarily given. >> I didn't break the law. I didn't do anything wrong. And I want these No. And I want these handcuffs off me and I want to go home. >> You have your >> No, I have dogs at home. I have to feed them. >> You have the opportunity to say anything you want. However, if we want you to either say yes or no that you understand your constitutional warrants. >> Well, guess what? I didn't have a choice of being put in these handcuffs. I didn't do anything wrong. I didn't break the law. I did not break the law, sir. >> Ma'am, >> and now I'm in handcuffs because some abuser that beat the [ __ ] out of me my whole life is now winning and sitting there with my kids. >> Your kids are over here. They'll hear you. They will not hear me. They're on the second floor. I know where the hell they are. >> Do you want to speak about what's going on? Yes or no? >> I do. But how come you need But I would like to know what >> Can you Can you listen to me for one second? Listen what I'm talking. >> Okay. Well, then I'm going to walk out the corner >> and then you can get me for resisting or whatever. >> No, I don't understand why you go and you talk to him and you put cuffs on me. >> Okay. >> I'm not I'm just asking a question. You you think you you're thinking >> I don't know why you just No, you just talked to him and then all of a sudden >> Put your feet inside the vehicle, please. >> You told me. >> In Florida, home invasion, domestic battery, and child endangerment can be criminally prosecuted with penalties ranging from 5 to 30 years in prison, fines, loss of custody, and child protective supervision. The mother faces charges of home invasion, domestic battery, and child endangerment. Up next, police shocked to find a baby alone in a hotel while the mother is nowhere in sight. >> Talk to me on the side. >> Here, I'll I'll you guys can Yeah. >> Hi, boss. >> Mom is in here changing the other one. >> Is this a mistake or she just or something? >> You want to switch places? >> You want to go in there with the kids? >> Are they okay? Yeah, it's fine. >> This is crazy. >> Your iPad is in the bathroom. >> You don't have a phone? >> No. >> How would How would anyone contact you? Where is >> Well, I just contact Like Are you saying like how do I communicate with my family and everyone? >> Yeah. Let's say I'm trying to I'm trying to contact you. How would I contact you? >> Through Facebook Messenger. >> Facebook. And then do you live here at this hotel? >> Yeah, this. Okay. You're talking to Dalen. We just want to know the timeline of what happened. So, what I understood is Dalen went to the gas station. Can you start from there? When Dalon left the gas station, where were you? >> I went outside at first and then I let my sister in. I was up here for a little and then I left for about 30 to 40 minutes. >> Okay. And your sister? >> Mhm. >> Okay. You're in the room. You physically saw her in the room with the kids before leaving? >> Yes. >> Okay. And where did you go? >> Is this supposed to be like am I going to be arrested? Like what's going on? >> I'm just trying to figure out what happened right now. We walked into a room where kids are by themselves. I'm just trying to figure out what's going like 30 minutes. But I understand. And were they Was one of them sleeping? >> Neither one of them was sleeping. >> Okay. Cuz she just checked on the she was sleeping. But yeah, I I I think I've explained enough to the other officers. So I've already had DCFS called on me before and I don't know how the shaker was. >> I'm the investigating officer. I'm the one that's going to be typing up stuff that happened. So can you just tell me what happened? >> I was gone for 30 to 40 minutes. >> Okay. And you left. Was your sister in the room? Okay. >> She comes She's You can see the cameras. She comes here frequently. >> When the mother appeared, she claimed she was only gone for 30 minutes, but that claim quickly fell apart when police checked the CCTV, >> like outside the hotel. >> So, we have to take the kids to the hospital. >> So, am I going with my kids? >> Well, we are taking them to the hospital so that they can get medically evaluated and then we're going to have to contact DCFS to see what they want to do from that point. I can't tell you what DCFS >> So, you're telling me you're taking my kids with you? >> They are going to the hospital to be checked out. you know, the information that we've been provided is that they've been left there for several hours. >> So, we have an obligation to make sure that the kids are safe, medically cared for, that time frame, and really any time frame because that is acceptable. But when we're talking 3 plus hours, that's that's a problem. So, we have to make sure that they're examined by a medical professional. I don't feel that >> am I not given the right to go with my kids to the hospital? >> Well, that's one thing we're going to be kind of talking about. Just one. Just one sec. >> Deja, can you stay out here? >> Call your mom or call someone. >> You want to take our kids? >> So So again, I >> Let's not make this any more complicated than needs to be. >> The kids are going to the hospital to get checked out by a medical professional because our investigations revealed that they've been left here alone since 1:30 p.m., which is completely unacceptable. We have an obligation to make sure that the kids are in a good medical condition. And so we are going to make sure that they're examined at a hospital and we're going to call DCFS for further direction. That's that's what it is. >> So can we get our kids back after? >> We're going to have to call DCF. DCFS is going to make that determination. We're going to have to call DCFS. >> And I'm supposed to like trust that you guys are willing. >> You can trust us. Believe me, we will do a good job of of making sure that your kids are cared for. Okay? And and again, you can come with him. I don't even have a cell phone. How you guys going to tell me what's going on on these with my daughter? >> We'll be with you. But one thing I will tell you is although you're upset and frustrated, cooperation is going to be very important to make sure that this is a smooth process, if you want if you want your kids back, then you need to cooperate. >> I'm going to try to reiterate what the officer was saying. All right. On behalf of the Elgen Fire Department, we have to make sure the kids are well. >> The police decided to take the two children for a medical checkup and the mother began to panic, screaming when she realized what was about to happen. corroborating is making you guys take my kids. No, don't say [ __ ] else. Because this is >> Go in the hallway now. In the hallway. >> No, no, no, no. It's okay. I'm going. I'm going. >> I'm going. I'm going. For what? >> Just put him on your back. >> For what? >> For what? Me? >> No. I had mying sister here. >> She wasn't here at the video. She wasn't. >> Okay. >> You can't lie with the video. >> I don't give a You guys had to see everything. Okay. From beginning to see how many people enter these codes. Okay. I did. >> Okay. >> I did. >> Okay. >> There was no say. Did you guys call them yet? >> We're calling them. We're dealing with you guys first. >> What? >> Please. They're taking me to jail. >> For what? >> For endangering going to be in danger. >> No. Please, >> bro. No. That's [ __ ] It's [ __ ] It is [ __ ] >> What's [ __ ] is leaving? >> No. No. No. No. No. You guys cannot do this [ __ ] You came to our hotel. >> We were called here. We didn't come here because we just decided to stroll in here. Okay, >> we were called by the hotel because you made a bad decision to leave your kids home alone. That's what it boils down. >> That's not >> You can make excuses all you want, but the reality is is you committed a crime and we have an oblation to make sure that your kids are okay. If you think it's okay to leave your kids in a in a hotel room by themselves for 3 hours, if you think that that's okay, that's a rational thing in your head, then you have serious problems because we have probable cause to believe that these kids were left unattended in a hotel room at age 2 and four, which is completely unacceptable under any circumstance. >> One and four. >> One, sorry. One and three. Left them in a hotel room. And then you want to get upset with us like this is our problem that we created. No, no, no. We didn't create this problem. We are now forced to deal with it because you guys made a bad decision. And I'm not trying to talk down to or belittle you. But there there is a point in time when we need to take some self responsibility for our actions. And this is unacceptable. And when unacceptable things happen and criminal law is broken, we have an obligation as the police to do. We care about your kids. We want to make sure your kids are safe. Leaving kids alone for a 3 plus hour period is not acceptable. There are resources available to help you. You guys don't even have like this is crazy. So even when we're inside and out, right? I leave for 5 minutes. >> You did not. I'm asking I'm asking what is the consecutive time that I have to be. >> There is no set timeline. It's what's reason. >> So if I leave for 10 minutes and I go outside, smoke a blunt and I come back in. >> The argument escalated and just one word from the police officer completely turned the atmosphere in the room upside down. >> We're saying you have you have probable cause for your arrest for endangering the life and health of a child. actually two counts because there's two children involved. That's what I'm telling you. I'm not I'm not trying to tell you that you're guilty of anything. That's for the courts to decide. But we have an obligation when innocent children are involved in a case where we have to do everything line by line to the book. And I would not be doing your children a service if I just left them here with you and said, you know, let's try and do better. It doesn't work that way. Unfortunately, DCFS is going to ask us for photos of the conditions that we found the kids in. Can we take pictures for their purposes? >> I'm saying that the DCFS want to see the see if my kids are okay. and see if you know the pictures. They're not going to come here. They're going to go to the hospital. >> Okay, then they can see them at the hospital. But no, they can't take photos. They're not taking photos of my my children. No, >> no, no. I'm I'm talking about the conditions of your apartment. >> You cannot take pictures of No, my >> You don't want me to? >> No. I mean, it's for the most part. It's not that. >> It documents the conditions at the time that we were here. >> Okay. >> So Oh, so you're asking to take permission photos? >> Yeah. >> Okay. No, you can't. Correct. >> They said that we left. >> Yes. So, they took both the babies away from us and took them to the hospital right now. And now they're trying to charge me and Dylan with child endangerment. What is the process from here? I'm going to be >> taken to the police station, built and processed, and then we'll go from there. >> So, you guys witnessed my door lock, right? And you have it on camera like that my kids stuff is safe. >> Yeah. I need to lock in there. >> Of course, but you guys were already on the room. So, I just want to make sure that no one else can get in and take any of my children's or my >> So, the charge that I'm being arrested for is child endangerment and their father's being charged with the same thing. >> Even though it's my hotel room and I stay there, aren't you? >> When you run my name, are you able to see like if I've been charged with anything? >> So, can you inform me of what I've been charged with beside today? The police officer can put a charge on you, right? But it has to be the judge is the one that makes ultimate determination, right? Jury or judge. I'm learning something. I didn't know that. I just I've normally had judges every court case I have. So, and to think I wanted to join police academy. This is crazy, man. Better to join them cuz you can't. >> As she was handcuffed, she screamed that she just wanted to be a good mother. But in the eyes of the law, that excuse came too late. Leaving a child unsupervised for an extended period of time carries a prison sentence of up to 5 years and a fine of up to $5,000 0 per count. No one is born a perfect parent, but leaving your child alone for even a few hours can leave a scar that lasts a lifetime. Children don't need perfect parents. They just need love, protection, and presence. Hey everyone, what do you think about this situation? If you enjoyed the video, don't forget to like, subscribe, and support us with a donation.
