In case you didn't know it, the Panel County Sheriff's Office has one of the most capable helicopters in the state. It's not a Huey, it's a super Huey. It's so capable that we were called out twice last week to rescue injured hikers when no other helicopter had the capability to lift someone in this incredible heat. On Monday, we were called to Sedona where my deputy had to hoist all the way down a steep canyon while the helicopter hovered to get a hiker who had been missing for 3 days out of that canyon. It was the only way they could have gotten her out. On Thursday, we were called down to Puma County to rescue a person from an extremely high elevation in this intense heat. We were barely able to do it even with a superhuey. Very appreciative of the Salty Skyhogs, our aviation team, and our search and rescue deputies. It's an honor to serve.
