i'm officer lopez i'm a detention officer here at the pinel county sheriff's office i've been here since 2011 i'm usually hearing intake so come in we usually look in all the new arrivals make sure the agencies they bring their paperwork we gotta go through the paperwork make sure it's correct when the inmate comes in we pack the inmate down make sure there's no contraband on them because a lot of times um they do come in especially when they come on drug charges and whatnot we find little surprises one step on this platform right here place one shoe in each hand usually the female officers only scan the female inmates we need female staff like crazy i mean we have a lot of great female officers here now but a lot of them are getting close to that retirement as well i've been doing this since i was like 23 so i'm kind of used to the environment i did a few years at the private prison and then i transferred here as a do and i'm just used to i think i like the adrenaline rush it's a different day in here like you never know what to expect so you don't do the same thing every day [Music]
