[Music] three moving moving on the aftermath of las vegas and a number of shootings the pulse nightclub and those across the nation this this type of training is something that we just continue to have to get our officers involved in and an alert is a program that allows us to do that advanced law enforcement rapid response training pinau county is amazing as far as their their push for the deputies to train uh to get out and train more train hard i don't know that we've been told too many times no that's not applicable to what we do if we've asked for the training it's usually been available don't move active shooters don't only occur in in the environments that people commonly think of in buildings and those types of environments where police have historically started the training and so now that we see that these events are occurring in remote areas or anywhere we find that our officers need to be trained in rural terrain we've seen an uptick of ambushes on officers nationwide and a lot of times it's while they're seated in their vehicles so teaching officers how to move in and around the vehicle and respond to that appropriately i think is going to be huge and i think it's going to be a life saver they're a small paintball type cartridge they're filled with a detergent type item that when it hits they're going several hundred feet per second they will leave a mark they can break skin but in the realm of training they bring that reality-based training to nature the officers actually have rounds coming back at them it's painful it doesn't feel good i took around in the pinky earlier and and i'll be feeling that for a few days alert is is partnered with the fbi and the texas state university research from texas state university so that the training we have is the most up-to-date information available bridge bridge and currently it's funded by cops grants through through congress so every year it goes back to several million dollars dedicated to police training you know where the suspect's at we are currently training the trainer so those that successfully uh pass the course will be certified as certified instructors by alert and able to teach it back in their communities and to their law enforcement officers and their agencies two all right we're moving we see these events occurring occurring and there's no indication they're going away anytime soon they'll be a lot more confident when they go out in the field and i think confidence means less mistakes and ultimately will be safer for the public at large as well as our deputies and officers
