Karen thought she stood above the law, but when police showed up, she finally learned what the LAW REALLY MEANS. WHAT BEGAN AS A SMALL shoplifting incident quickly turned into a nightmare that left everyone around in shock. An emergency call sent New Jersey police rushing to the scene where a woman had allegedly stolen items and assaulted a store employee all OVER SOMETHING TRIVIAL. AS OFFICERS ARRIVED, SHE SHOUTED "Shut up!" repeatedly. And within seconds, the situation spiraled out of control. Witnesses could hardly believe what they were seeing. How are you? I'm not talking but I'm not talking to you. >> wait, wait. You got to talk to me. You got to talk >> I'M NOT TALKING >> [screaming] [screaming] [screaming] >> YOU GOT A CUP OVER HERE? YEAH. PUT A CUP ON IT. YOU GOT SOMETHING GOING ON? ALL RIGHT. >> [screaming] >> A STORE CLERK LATER REVEALED IN disbelief the woman had already been banned from the store, yet she came back acting erratic and unpredictable as if nothing had happened. THIS IS A DRUG UP. SHUT UP! SHUT UP! I HATE [laughter] YOU! I HATE YOU! >> [screaming] [laughter] [screaming] >> ALL I KNOW IS THAT THEY SAID THEY WANTED HER OFF. I went to approach her. >> She's been trespassed. Uh trespassed. Why would I trust her? And then she started swinging on me. So then we went down. So she was on property and then you were She was in the bathroom. She's been trespassed multiple times. She's in the bathroom stuffing toilet paper and everything she can stuff it in. We told her to leave. She left. She came back. She left. She came back. When backup arrived, she screamed that she was an FBI agent and accused the officers of being imposters. A bizarre scene that stunned everyone present. Get out of the car. No one told you to fight me. >> WITH THE SERIOUSLY, HOLD ON, HOLD ON. LET'S HAVE AN HONEST CONVERSATION. IF WE'RE going to have this problem the whole DAY >> STAND UP! DO NOT SPIT! OKAY. >> [screaming] >> LET'S GO. LET'S GO. RIGHT BACK HERE. THANK YOU. THANK YOU. ALL RIGHT, face this wall RIGHT HERE, RIGHT? WHEN THE FINAL REPORT CAME OUT, ONE THING was clear. Arrogance and defiance toward the law always come at a price, a very steep one. Take a seat. Give me all your jewelry. Take that off. >> [snorts] >> What do you have in your hair? You checked out. Do you have any other jewelry on you? You need to take this off. No, I cannot. This is God's. I cannot take it. It's a thread. Okay. What is this? This is my You have to take that off. This is God's. That's fine. God will watch you from above. In the end, police confirmed she was charged with multiple offenses including theft, trespassing, resisting arrest, and assaulting an officer. Next up, what seemed like a quiet morning at a Safeway supermarket suddenly turned into a chaos when a woman clutching a baby was caught shoplifting in broad daylight. When told to stop, the woman snapped screaming, kicking, and resisting arrest right in front of officers. Her cries of "I didn't do anything" echoed across the store. Do you have any weapons on you that you know about? I'm not going to jail. Okay. I can't breathe. Why not? Consequences of your actions hurt? Is that what it is? Okay, cool. Okay. Sit in the car. Swing your feet into the car. Okay. No, swing your feet into the car. I need an ambulance. For what? Get up and get into the car. Yeah. I need an ambulance. For what? I need my phone. Where's my phone? All right, come on. You didn't care about him when you were stealing and stuff. >> touch me like this. Get up. Put you in the car, ma'am. I need an ambulance. I need an ambulance. Okay, I need an ambulance. Stop. Stop. >> You can't touch me like that. Stop. You cannot touch me like that. >> Stop. I need an ambulance now. I need an ambulance. You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can be used against you in a court of law. You have the right to have a reasonable time to talk to a lawyer and have him present to you while you're being questioned. Do you understand your rights? As police moved in, the baby slipped from her arms, narrowly avoiding the concrete floor. Bystanders rushed to help, horrified by what they had just witnessed. Um I just seen the baby like getting kicked and like trashed around in the stroller by the mother. to help. They were trying to stop shoplifters what it was. What all was she taking? Oh, there was Okay. That old thing? These bags are from here, too. So do you guys need a receipt for this? Yes, please. Yeah, I'm going to take some photos real quick. >> Okay, cool. I'm going to flip it over so you can get everything. >> No, you're all good, man. I did diffuse the situation because I saw the baby. It wasn't crying or anything. Didn't seem distressed, but I Yeah. I have five kids. My youngest is two. So, when I saw him getting trashed around, he was just supposed to hit his head on the pole a couple of times. So, I I I intervened and I tried to diffuse him and I said, "Hey, you know, I'll I'll buy this stuff. You know, just [ __ ] let her go, you know?" And then I asked her, "Well, she had a couple of bags with her that she claimed were hers when she came into the store. They maintain that she put items from Safeway in there. I'm sure I'm sure it's true. She seems uh she seems very um very upset. Yes. And they're holding on to the shopping bag. Yeah, he he's like just like he's attached attached to them. She's I don't intervene in other people's business. It's not my business, but I I had to say something. There wasn't a moment where her hand wasn't on the stroller and she wasn't trying to get away from these security guards that he wasn't being trashed or being neglected as far as his own safety. Um Witnesses later described the scene as larger than life, like something out of a movie with the child caught in the middle of their mother's breakdown. over over there trying to steal the bags again. Um And then over here, she knocked him over absolutely like all the way over and the guy that black guy that just walked outside, he actually caught him before he hit the floor. Well, I saw she came through the aisles. She didn't even stop at checkout. She just went right through and just tried to go. So, we told her just give us the stuff back. Oh, and I was just trying to think of I was just thinking about the kid. You understand? I told her just go. And she said she wasn't want to go and the fight was just flying everywhere. And I just right when you guys came, that's when I grabbed the kid. So, from falling over before he scratched his face on the pavement. Technically two people. I got this on my own, so Yeah. You I As I pulled that man, you really complicated Yeah, I had it was easy on the kid falling, you know what I mean? But yeah, that's she did we did have all our elements. Yeah, you saw a selection of all of that. Yeah, everything inside of When she started to push out, like was she using her kid as like a as like a guide? Like a hot like I get what you mean. Not really. She did it at the end. And I was telling I told her I was like, "I'll help you with the stroller. Just go. Just go. Just get the stuff back cuz you don't want the kid to be taken." She said she don't give up. She needs it. She said she kept saying she came with the bags, which she didn't. And I'm telling her that just go. And then she just started swinging the baby around in the stroller, so I don't know. All I ever was caring about was the kid. That's it. But when searched, the woman was found carrying drugs, paraphernalia, and items linked to prostitution and potential exposure to AIDS. A desperate attempt to hide the truth that only made things worse. Ow ow ow ow ow you're you're hurting me. I'm pregnant. I'm pregnant. I'm pregnant. You're hurting me. Why are you being like that?
