My soul. >> She was charged with aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, aggravated assault, resisting arrest, and disorderly conduct. Next, an argument at an apartment complex suddenly turned into a fight leaving one woman with a swollen face and forcing police to intervene immediately. >> She right there I seen her bragging about what she did. >> Only second of the car? >> Yeah, she literally bragging. >> All right. Um so, what happened? >> Okay, I was inside my house just had to finish cleaning up but I got to go run do my errands. Then no her and my neighbor was talking. I had my nose in my front door. >> Mhm. >> No camera or nothing though, so I don't know they out there. I open my door to take the trash bag out and I'm going to take the trash on the way out to get in my car. >> Yes, ma'am. >> As I open the door, I seen her and another officer, I mean another my neighbor talking about whatever, I don't know. Can't tell you. >> Mhm. >> So, I go back in, close the door, I see the trash in the house so I go back in, close the door, grab my shoes, my purse and everything else. And proceeded to walk down the stairs to go take the trash out. When I was walking this I don't know her name, this lady just kept on doing all this and I'm like I didn't know she was talking to me or she was on the phone or talking to herself, I didn't know. I'm quiet the whole time. I just know when we got to the last step of the last four steps, she was like yeah, hold on, hold on, hold on. Again, I'm still thinking she's on the phone with somebody and not talking to me or to herself, whatever. So as she go in her house, I didn't think she was going to come back out. She come back out the door and was like So I was like, do we got a problem? I'm confused at this point. I'm like this is the fourth run-in I've had with her. She done stopped me twice for having my kids. The third time she came talking about somebody trying to jump I don't know if something mentally wrong with her or whatever, but I did let the front office know and made a report about it like hey, this is the third time this lady has said something or did something to me or approached me with this manner. She was just so aggressive like she wanted to fight and I'm trying to Okay, we get down to the stairs. She's blocking me from going around so I can go take the trash out and I was like you need to move. >> In the hallway? >> I didn't in the hallway, I didn't. I was like girl, move. She's still in my way. She eventually stepped to the side a little bit and I kept walking. She's still talking, I'm talking back. I did one like like what? I stopped again. She's like as you think y'all like you just hang out going, whatever you got going on leave me alone. Walked to the trash can, she stayed right here. I'm walking to my car, she's walking down the sidewalk. As I'm As I'm getting to my car, I'm at my door and open my keys. >> This is your car? >> Yes. I done put my purse down. Get ready to pop my trunk to get my cooler out and take it back in so I can have room in my trunk. She's right here at my door. >> Mhm. >> Car door and I'm right here. I'm in my back of my car and I'm right here. >> Mhm. >> She didn't come step and came like aggressive like she was wanting to attack. >> The victim explained the ridiculous reason behind her dispute with the neighbor, but the incident did not end there. >> to me. >> Okay. How does that make you feel? >> Like I don't need to defend myself cuz she approached me with her arm up like this, right arm up. She approached me like this and I'm right here. So, when she came to me, I instantly just swung cuz like this is a fighting match. >> Mhm. >> So, you swung on me in the midst of me like you need to move. First I told you to hey, you need to move. Get from out my car. I kept telling her that over and over and over. [laughter] >> Mhm. >> And I'm steady walking to the front like move from by my car. That's when she got all what and something like that she said. >> Okay, so hold on. Like stop for a second. All right. So, whenever she did that, did you feel yes or no? >> Mhm. >> Did you feel like that she was going to hit you, cause physical harm? >> I did, yes sir. I did. >> Okay, and that's how is that kind of how all this stuff kind of happened, all the >> All this happened right here. >> from from y'all fighting? >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> So, then she we we get in a little wrestle and me to pin her down. We end up coming right here. I just stayed on top of her, not hitting her or anything. Like look, I'm telling her just chill out. Like I don't know you, you don't know me. Just leave me alone. She's screaming help and this and that. I'm going to call the press shop. That's fine. Whatever you do, do what you got to do. But at the same time too, stop. I'm trying to go. Nobody came for help cuz we called to somebody from the front office. So, I'm on her telling her neighbors, "Hey, could you get somebody from the office so we can stop the situation?" >> Mhm. >> Nobody came to come out so I got up. >> All you did was hold her down? >> That's it. I didn't swing, I didn't hit her, didn't do nothing. >> Okay, cuz you thought she was still going to physically >> I did and that's why I stayed on her. Like I didn't have all my weight on her. I was just on her like this. >> Okay. >> My body still like half of her with her hand down like this with my arm like her shoulder blades cuz she wouldn't move. I used to be a CEO so I didn't want to keep fighting her. So, then she goes after I get in the I'm getting I'm walking to my car. She's following me. I have it on video. She's still following me trying to fight. By then, um I forgot her name from the front office. She come walking out the side while we're right here. I'm against my car. I didn't approach her. I didn't do nothing. The lady spit on me. >> Which lady did that? Or she do? >> She spit on me. The front office lady was standing right here with me when she did it. And then I just lost I'm sorry I did. >> As the truth gradually came to light, the police could not rush to a conclusion and continued listening to both sides. >> do like that and I was attacked because I yelled at ass who was yelling out harassing me. >> Ma'am. >> I've been harassed for 3 months. I complained >> so that we can figure this stuff out. >> Leaving for what? When I'm on probation I can go to jail for the prison. Are you serious? Why the hell would I do that? >> I don't know what you're doing. Just walk up to your truck. Hear me out. You already gave her your information, your name, date of birth and all that stuff. >> Right. I'm trying to smoke a black and mild to calm my nerves. Did you see my face? >> I understand. We got EMS coming. Um We just want you to get in the truck and and leave it alone. That's all. >> I get you walk me to my house so I can get a black and mild? >> No, ma'am. We got to stay right here. I don't know where that she walked with her and I don't want y'all getting back into it. >> I live right here on the corner, right here where this camera is. You got to put a camera on my door. Do you see the Turn around and look at the camera on my door. >> I see it. >> Here. >> Do you know if that camera caught any of what happened today? >> No, cuz it happened right there. >> Yes, ma'am. >> So, I'm not allowed to press charges? >> That's what we're trying to figure out. >> Because I'm on probation and she attacked me, that's why I can't? >> Not at all. >> Girl. >> We have to figure out both sides of the story and figure out which one's the right one. Cuz obviously you're going to say one thing, she's going to say another, right? >> I'm I'm >> I understand that. >> Do I look like I put my hands on her at all? >> I understand. Did uh the other deputy take pictures of your injuries by chance? >> They did. >> I want to make sure we have it documented. How long you been living here? >> 2 months. >> 2 months? >> This girl been starting [ __ ] and we already planned on moving. I just left from the apartment that we just put a deposit on. I can show you that, too. >> Yeah. >> Literally just left from putting a deposit on. >> complex is fairly new, isn't it? >> Yes. And I'm thinking it wasn't going to be that many people and that many problems. That's why we picked this up. >> I'd say it looks like it'd be pretty expensive. >> $2,000 to be looking like this? >> How many rooms? >> Two bedroom. >> For $2,000? >> And look at me for $2,000 getting attacked by somebody. Are you serious? Why you don't think I was looking for apartment? I just left from looking for an apartment and we got it. >> While Karen continued covering her face and crying, portraying herself as the victim and trying to escape responsibility, the police had already uncovered the truth behind it all. >> They're just talking amongst themselves. >> Am I in trouble? >> Go ahead and talk. >> What did I do? >> Go ahead and put your phone like open your phone. I don't want it to break. >> Why am I being arrested? >> Hold on. Getting personal. >> Could you knock on my daughter's room fast, pretty please? >> You can't call him from the jail. >> Why am I being arrested? Do you all mind? Battery. I didn't spit on her. >> Spitting is battery. >> I didn't spit at her. >> I didn't spit on her face. >> There's There we have witnesses. >> You could be the one to start. Now we have other people saying there that yeah, what you told her was a complete lie. So you want to lie about >> I didn't lie. >> Yeah, so >> There was never an altercation upstairs. >> I didn't have an altercation with anybody. I don't. Ma'am. Ma'am. >> Hey, stop yelling. >> Josh. >> Yelling does not get you in trouble once you enter the jail. >> There's a person charging on me. >> Yes, face forward. >> Ma'am. >> Cross your feet. >> Or you're going to go in the back of the car. >> Ma'am, I'll pay you not to PRESS CHARGES. I NEVER spit on you. >> Ma'am, go ahead and get in the car. >> I will pay you $1,000. >> Step in the car. >> Ma'am. Do you still need EMS, by the way? Or do you just want to get checked out at the jail? >> Could you please? Please, could you just >> Answer the question. Do you want EMS? >> ask her one more time if she's sure? >> I'll ask her.
