I know. >> Speed this up and get you where you need to go. Okay. >> Would you be okay if I just took a look at your eyes for just a moment? >> Okay. Do you see the tip of my pen right here, Summer? Right up here at the tip. Okay. So, what I'm going to ask you to do is I want you to follow the tip of my pen with your eyes and your eyes only. I was curious what you meant. >> Why would I want in this situation? >> Well, I'm not saying you want to be in this situation. Being arrested isn't a situation anybody wants to be in. But the reason that you've been taken into custody is that I can tell that you've been drinking. >> No, I actually sideswiped someone with my mirror a little bit. That's a result of you driving after you? >> No, nothing's been wrong other than that. >> Um, can you hold on to her for a second? >> Yeah. Yeah. >> I don't know who did it. And she stole my vape. >> Yeah. >> And she's 13. >> It's a lot going on. I'm gonna >> call really quick. >> Yeah. >> Hey, Sarge. Um, I just wanted to let you know that we're going to have a DV over here with children involved. So, we're going to go 10:15 on the mom. We have wounds on the daughter. She lost her mind and started throwing away the daughter's stuff. So, the daughter went to pick it up and the mom reached and grabbed it and scratched her neck and then scratched her arm. Uh, the little sister saw it all happen. And this is not the first time that this has happened. She's got like open bleeding scat, like claw marks on her neck. I don't think that's really corporal punishment. They live with the grandma. She's just not the legal guardian. So, grandma was here during all this. She didn't see it, but she heard it. And there's a long train of history with the mom just disappearing for weeks and then coming home and beating the girls and then leaving. And >> she punched me in my head this weekend in my back. The reason why I had to go to chiropractor. >> Why? Why didn't you call the police then? >> Cuz I don't want her to go to jail. >> Okay. A shocking detail was revealed. The mother disappeared for weeks and then returned just to beat her child. And the reason the child kept quiet was because he didn't want his mother to go to jail. >> Okay. Do you mind stepping out of the car? >> I'm gonna explain everything to you. Okay. Just turn around for me. >> Clean it up. No. No. No. No. No. No. >> I'm going to tell I'm going to explain everything to you. >> Yes. My daughter attacked me. She was on top of me on my bed. I tried to get her away. Look at my nails. Officer, I'm a nurse. This is going to ruin my career. I won't be able to take. My daughter has bipolar. I'm not on medication. I'm on two medications. She attacked me. Okay. >> My mother is bipol You're not listening. >> I don't beat up my children. She punched me in my head yesterday and my back. That's why I had to go to the chiropractor this morning. >> Okay. So, this is >> She abused me and attacked me. I >> Are you going to listen to me? Are you going to listen? >> I don't know why I'm in handcuffs. >> Listen. Listen. >> Okay. So right now the story that your daughter is telling me and the injuries that she has >> are equivalent battery. No honey she beat >> your other daughter witnessed it all. >> My other daughter did not witness that I was laying on the bed. >> Okay. >> She came up on top of me. >> Right now we have enough to take you. >> She came on top of me. I have bruises all over me from her. I was in the chiropractor this morning. I guess so. >> I shouldn't be in jail. I shouldn't be in jail. My daughter was being my mom. >> You keep saying that about it. >> I am the victim. This will ruin my career. The mother pleaded desperately as she was handcuffed, but the police had made up their minds. The child needed to be protected and justice needed to be served. >> True. This is going to ruin my career. I did not do that. I was protecting myself. I was protect. She hit me. You know that. This is >> Do you have anything on you that's going to poke you? >> Please. You're not listening to me. >> I'm listening, but I already explained you. >> I was defending myself. She beats up on my mother every day. You're not. She's a liar. Please, you're not believing me. I know, but you're not believing me. As a mom, please believe me as a mom. I don't beat up my children. Get in the car, please. >> I don't And I was laying >> You got to take a step >> and my my my hip. >> You see my daughter? How can I attack her? I was laying on the bed and she came swinging at my face. I just got out of >> I know. I know. Just scoot in there. Okay. >> Look at my nails. >> Scoot in there. They're sharp. >> Scoot in there. >> She's got soft skin. I don't It was a defense mechanism. She's been stealing. She got kicked out of school. >> This is not This is my baby. My daughter. >> I'm going to go. If you don't mind just hanging out with her for a second, I'm going to go explain everything. Basically, daughter's got scratches all over her neck and little sister watched mom go at her. And so, yeah. >> Yeah, pretty clear that. In Florida, child abuse is classified as felony class 3, ordinary abuse or minor neglect, and is punishable by up to 5 years in prison or a suspended sentence and a fine of up to $5,000. The mother is likely to face charges of child abuse and battery, which could result in the loss of custody if found guilty. Police have also taken note of the grandmother, the de facto guardian, and the case will be referred to the child welfare service, CPS, for further investigation. So, this devoted mother not only lost custody of her child, but is about to get her own room in prison. Hey everyone, what do you think about this situation? It wasn't on purpose. Sitting here act like I was just completely neglecting my kids. I left him in here with good intention. I was trying to make sure he didn't get sick. Okay, we just got out the pool. You see, I'm still I'm still so yes, I did try to leave my kid and make sure that I took care of him. One second. Let me say the parking lot. >> You're walking circles in there, walking back and forth past it, and then you come out here and you couldn't find your vehicle either. And then you're walking around and then you see the security and then it just happens the security is out with your vehicle and your children >> right now. >> So that that's all got to be longer than 10 minutes. I'm not saying it's an hour, but it's more than 10 minutes. >> That door I walked in specifically my GPS map before my phone died. It says that it was on level one. So I walked by the fountain. We see it as one bad mistake and this is a learning lesson to move forward. So, we're going to give you a piece of paper. the same as if you were arrested and brought in. >> And then you have a court date and you can go to court and testify as to why you believe. >> There's no winning.
