today is september the 11th 2021 exactly 20 years after the most devastating terror attack in our nation's history i'm sure everybody woke up this morning recognized that it was september the 11th and thought back on what they were doing on that day i look back and i'm trying to decide what has america become on september the 11th we watched police officers and firefighters running towards the buildings as people ran away they ran towards the buildings with hopes that they would find people and save their lives many of those men died that day sacrificing themselves for the good of their fellow citizens today our police officers are being kicked out of schools they're being told that it's not safe for them to be around children there was a courthouse in portland that was under siege for months with a group called antifa that was hurling fire bombs at the building day in and day out for months on end and we had some people in this country saying that that group of people didn't exist that it was merely an idea in the days and weeks following september the 11th as the country got back to normal and sporting events begin i remember the standing ovations for the police officers and the firefighters who walked out in the field and were recognized for their heroism i remember hearing the crowds erupt with chance of usa after the national anthem was being sent today many of the networks refused to show the national anthem being played at sporting events many athletes refuse to stand and observe the national anthem some athletes even choose to take a knee or turn their back on the flag while it's being played the days and weeks after september 11th the country was united behind an idea that america was a great country filled with great people today children are being taught in school that america is a racist country and it was founded on racism and that it's never been a good place we have people being assaulted for not wearing masks and we have people being assaulted for asking other people to put on masks the federal government is suing the states and many states are suing the federal government our country is more divided now than it has been at any point in my lifetime on september the 11th america said we would never forget it saddens me to see that america has in fact forgotten you
