[Music] uh today we're doing some aerial platform shooting uh just building some uh skill sets and adding some more tools to our uh tool belt it's one of those tools that we hope to never have to use but it's better to be prepared for it and have that ability and never use it then need it and not have it as a shooter it's a whole different skill set when you're looking at your point of aim and and where your actual projectile is actually going to strike again there's a lot of science to it a lot of math it happens really quick and having to make adjustments literally on the flly that's one of the most fun things I've ever done the aviation unit normally responds to calls for service and very remote areas we've had many incidences where people are out in the desert they're armed with being able to return fire all we can do is fly away yeah vehicle Pursuits uh represent a really high level of danger to the public and to uh law enforcement in general we're practicing uh not only stationary targets but we're also uh implementing moving targets that would replicate like a hood of a vehicle to disable a vehicle if we needed to there's a multitude of different scenarios where an aerial platform might give us an advantage over a suspect and help us better protect Canal County oh [Music]
