My name is Chris Broadoot. I'm the Atom Region Supervisor for Pomol County Sheriff's uh citizens on patrol based out of the Santan Valley. Uh I've been doing a COP work for a little over four years now. No, it is a volunteer program. Uh we have quite a few volunteers in our program and we do it because we like getting involved with the community. Uh we like helping our deputies out. Uh we do everything from housewatch patrolling to assisting our deputies with accidents and traffic control. we're in direct connection with our our dispatch office by via radio. Uh if we see something happen and we can pick up the radio and get a deputy responding right away. It also uh lets uh dispatch know where we're at if there's a problem and that we need somebody to respond uh you know to help out with that. It's very fulfilling for me uh to be able to go out and and help the community, help our deputies. Average cop comes from all walks of life. Uh we have some of our people that are uh ex law enforcement, retired law enforcement. We have folks that are retired and just want to be out and and help the community. Age range is pretty much anywhere from mid40s. We have one of our gentlemen in our COP program that just turned 82 years old. The need for cops is is high in our in in our area with the Santan Valley expanding as much as it is. We're always looking to recruit new coops. You can check us out and if that's something you think you might be interested in doing, you can apply and go through the process.
