going on

the video for today is going to show
officers performing a pit maneuver
and it's going to show a little bit
about what happens after a pit maneuver
is performed on the street
the incident that caused this to happen
was
there was a car crash
at a major intersection on the city's
northeast side
somewhere off of cleveland avenue
[Applause]
one maybe two of the occupants of the
vehicles involved in the crash
got out and started shooting at each
other
there were probably eight to ten 9-1-1
calls about this incident
information was coming in slow
and it was really hard for the
dispatchers to piece together
a lot of these calls were going out as
officers were actually in route
to what they believed was a shooting
scene
[Music]
as officers got close
the columbus police helicopter was
overhead and they called out a vehicle
that was driving down an alley at a high
rate of speed
officers in the area positioned
themselves behind the vehicle
turned on their overhead lights
and the vehicle reviews a stop
that's what led to a short pursuit and a
pit maneuver
i'm attaching some of the body camera
footage
that was from after the pit
um i don't have all of it i believe the
division is withholding some of the body
camera footage
because it's still part of an active
felony investigation
with all that being said
i hope you enjoy this video
i hope you learned something
and i'll talk to you soon
[Applause]
yeah it's good
so right behind you there was a
great silver sedan going uh southbound
in the alley
it looks like it's gonna turn southbound
on cleveland
but
you know like i'll point it out too it's
gonna pass you here in a second
click the sonata or something it's gonna
pass right now that probably didn't work
as a server
all right we think this is what the
suspect or the guy who shot in here
i think that fights
it in and it was going down the alley in
a pretty good clip on the east side of
uh
on the
all right he's got no tag
ems 13 radio
uh
[Music]
[Applause]
[Music]
it's coming out to cleveland uh
cruisers stop right there racially just
gonna come right out at you
[Applause]
put your hands up
put your hands up i can't see
i can't see in those windows
[Music]
keep your gun down
[Music]
there's kids in the car
[Applause]
[Applause]
[Music]
[Music]
you guys literally have no idea what's
going on
just
just stop yelling
i assure you nobody cares more about
that kid than we do
just film stand here but stop yelling
this vehicle is out of a shooting and a
carjacking so just take a breath and let
us do our jobs a second
okay yeah we're concerned too my heart
almost dropped when i saw a kid in that
car but just stopped yelling
that's funny
[Music]
that's five uh whatever time he got
covered
this was out of a uh a shots fired car
jacket
and then the car didn't stop no no i
didn't so yeah i'm just letting you know
yeah yeah
[Music]
is this dude in the back seat you think
uh
did she just pick him up jacking's
calling up
do you think he's involved in uh somehow
is
no more citizen contact turning off
[Music]
