Police were called when a man was spotted going store to store and taking hundreds of gift cards from each. The man was suspected to be part of a gift card scam. This is what police found. I come in I put a tampered gift card. You come in as a customer. You buy this gift card. Yeah. This $100 is now in my pocket and you are out $100. How do you get Do you just steal the gift card to start? Yeah. They come and they steal the gift cards. They go home. They tamper them. Okay. So, so we're looking like $1,500 each if we can figure out which ones are tampered correctly. Yeah. But like I've had two cases in my store in the last month of tampered gift cards. Yeah. The reset. The reset. Yeah. Okay. So, so they just pulled off all the ones that are open. Some that looked potentially weird. Was this one one of the ones? That is one of them. Yeah. Yeah. This one actually has a fingerprint on it. Most of them didn't have that new update. Most of them are the old ones with like the tags. Oh, that like sometimes like that pin number will be scratched off. And like these are the updated ones that have the red part, but then like the older one doesn't have this red part and it has like a tap that you pull off. Yeah. Vehicle of this. Yep. That's okay. We'll put it right here just for a minute. You can put your hands up. All right, ma'am. Thank you so much for your service. the uh Yep. Let's call DHS. Wait, can we go over and open it up and go? You didn't do anything. You didn't do anything. And then just close it and walk away. No. How did this start to come out of grafting? Yeah. Yeah. They had him on They saw him doing it in grafting.
