Um, so, do you have any idea why we might be here? >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> There was an incident, a little incident that just happened. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. >> Tell me about what happened cuz I don't like getting one side of the story. I don't think that's fair. So, that's why I wanted to come over here and just talk to you. >> No, I'll tell you. So, basically my daughter and her dad were together today. We We have like a 50/50 friends. He gets her on Saturday usually from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. >> Okay. >> Today he asked if he could have her a little earlier and I was like, "Sure, you can have her at 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m." And he was like, "Okay, perfect. That works." And I was like, "Okay, awesome." So, she was at his house and I was at the gym and then I went to Whole Foods to get some groceries. Sorry, I'm just trying to give you every possible >> Big picture for sure, yeah. >> Yeah. So, I go to Whole Foods and um >> Oh, that's embarrassing. >> You're You're good. Don't worry about it. So, then um I text him. I was like, "Hey, I'm at Whole Foods" cuz it's right by his house. I was like, "How are you and Dessa doing?" Blah blah what not. And he was like, "Oh, okay, you're at Whole Foods?" And I was like, "Yeah." And he was like, "Yeah." think I'm going to bring her there." And I was like, "Oh, okay, and then I can just pick her up cuz I have her question in my pocket." >> What time was that? >> Uh shoot. 6:00 something maybe? I can check exactly. I don't have my phone on me. >> No worries. Yeah, give me your phone. That's fine. >> This was at >> Is that your daughter? >> Yeah. Okay, I can grab my phone, but I can grab whatever it is in there. >> Yeah, you can grab whatever you want. Just tell me the time later. I was just curious to see what >> Yeah, it just around 6:00 something. >> Okay. >> So, >> If you guys agreed to meet at Whole Foods >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> Yeah. So, I was like, "Okay, I'll be inside. Just call me when you guys get here." And then he was like, "Okay." He was like, "She was getting kind of fussy. Didn't want to sit down at the dinner table, so I was going to bring her back early." And I was like, "Okay, sounds good. I got it." So, I went inside and I was grocery shopping and then all of a sudden they come by and she's running up to me and then I was like, "Yes, yeah." And then we just kept walking like, you know, getting my groceries. He was following us. He was like, "I'm going to say bye. I'm going to go." And I was like, "Okay, go ahead." So, we said bye to her, hugged her, gave her a kiss, and then he left. >> Was that inside the store? >> Yes, inside the store. So, then he left and I'm walking around. I'm like, "Her backpack is in his car." And then cuz I packed her backpack with all of her things when she goes with him. So, then he gives me a call and he's like, "Hey, I forgot her backpack." He's like, "Where's your car?" And I was like, "Well, my keys are on me, so you can bring me the backpack or like you can wait till we come out. We're almost done." He was like, "I'll just bring it." I was like, "Okay." So, he found us, gave us her backpack. And then we're walking all together and he was like, "I'm just going to stay here till you guys check out." And I was like, "Okay." So, we check out. We're walking out the door and then I see like the ice bags and I was like, "I'm going to grab a bag of ice." And I was like, "I'm going to go get this real quick." And I'm holding all the bags, my bag, my water, her backpack. And I was like, "Do you mind holding this for a second? Like I can't hold this." >> Holding what? Just like groceries or what is it? >> Oh, her backpack. >> Okay. >> And so he was like, >> "Yeah." >> And I was like, "Thank you." So, I give him her backpack and then she starts running away. And so he starts walking after her and I was like, "I'm going to pull the car up." And he's like, "Okay." So, I pay for the ice and I'm like, "Goodbye." Walk outside, go to my car, turn on, warming it up, pull my car around, come to the front, park it at the front, turn the hazards on. I see them coming out. >> You said the front, so is this like >> Right in front of the store. >> Is this the one by Second Street or the other side by First Street? I There's two entrances. >> Oh, there is? >> The one closer to the river or the one farthest away from the river? >> I was kind of between both of them. >> Okay. >> You're right in the You're in the Yeah, you're in the parking lot. And that Oh, wait, really? And >> That'd be good. >> I was like, it's going to be for a second. Like I don't want to Plus >> I got to write the ticket right now. >> Um okay, anyway. >> So, you pull up the car, you put on your hazards. >> Yeah, and I was like >> Oh, yeah. >> And then we >> And I was like, "Okay, I'm just going to like run out and like put her in the car seat real quick." So, I run to the car and he's already going to the side of the car. I open the door. He starts putting her in the car seat. I was like I was like, "I can do it. Like I got it." And he ignored me. And he just put her in the car seat. And I was like, "It's okay. Like I got it. I can do it. Like you know, I'm I'm going to do it." Ignoring me. And I was like I was like, "Can you Can you hear me?" And then he's just ignoring me. And I was like, "Can I grab her backpack?" So, I grab her backpack, put it in the car, come back around. He's still doing it. And I was like, "Listen, like I told you about 10 times I got it. Like can you just move away?" And he's like "I'm going to put her in the car seat." And I was like I was like, "Please, Will. Like let's like let's not do this." And I was like, "I don't put her in a car seat in your car. Like that's your car. That's your thing. Like can you not do this right now?" And he was like He realized that my point is valid. So, he's like, "I want to say goodbye to her." And I was like "Okay. Um, you can say goodbye to her. You just said goodbye to her 5 minutes ago. Did you not in the store 5 minutes ago?" And he's like "Alex, I'm not going to You know, just starting to get worked up." And I'm like, "Will, I'm going to ask you one more time. I'm I swear I'm going to call the police." I was like, "You need to get away from my car." And he's not moving. And then he turns around or I pull his jacket a little bit. I'm like, "Listen, like please move out of my car." And I'm starting to get upset. She's starting to get stressed out. She's starting to cry. >> Yeah. >> And he turns around and he's screaming in my face. He's like "You are physically assaulting me. You just physically assaulted me." And then people are like starting to turn their heads and notice. And he's like "You're causing a scene. You're causing a scene." And I'm like I'm like, "Will, you're causing a scene. I asked you genuinely 20 times can you move away? Can you get out of my car?" And I started to get I'm like, "Will, get the [ __ ] out of my car. Like right now. Seriously." She's crying. She's screaming. She's like, "Mama, mama, mama, mama." And I'm like, "You're stressing her out. Move." >> Yeah. >> And he's not moving. He's blocking me. Literally standing like this, blocking me from my own car, from my daughter, like sitting there freaking out in the car seat cuz she doesn't know what's happening. And so, I'm like, if if any person, genuinely any person is standing in front of me blocking me from my child, like putting her at stress, I'm removing them. I don't care who it is. >> Yeah. >> I'm dealing with that. I'm not like him to play the victim and be like, "Ah, help, help, help." Which I probably should have done. But, anyway, I was like, "You need to move." And people are watching, starting to walk by, and I was like, "You need to move right now." So, then I moved him, like pushed him out of the way, like that. And he moves out of the way. >> Yeah. >> And then I finish >> her up, and then she lays her head, and she's immediately calm. >> And I'm like, "Hey, everything's okay. We're going to go home." Close her door, turn around. A woman is right there. And she's like, "Are you okay? Are you okay?" And I was like, I was like, "Yeah, I'm okay." And she's like, "We just saw what happened. We wanted to know if you're okay." And I'm like, "Trust me, I'm kind of used to this. I'm fine." And I was like, "He's acting insane. This is like kind of typical." I was like, "He's just acting crazy." And I'm like, "He's blocking me from getting my daughter into the car." >> Okay. >> it. And she was like, "Oh, okay. We We just want to make sure that you're okay." And I was like, "Yeah, we're okay." And I was like, "Thank you." And so, she said, "Okay." So, she walks away, and I turn around, I'm going to walk to the driver's seat. >> Yeah. >> And I see him sitting on the side of the road crying, crying, and like people are coming and comforting him. And I'm like, "Okay, well, we're all good. So, I'm going to get out of here." So, I go in the driver's seat, and I'm driving home. Everything's fine. >> Okay. Yeah. >> "You shouldn't >> just screamed out help help help or like genuinely called the police. And I didn't want to make it bigger than it was, but now I know I genuinely need to because there's nothing else I can do. >> Okay. >> There's nothing else I can do. So Yeah, I will explain that to him and then I get home and then I'm getting texts from him and he's like I have to tell you exactly what he said on the text. It's he's just not okay. So yeah, uh honestly like I'm not surprised. I was thinking like do I go to the police station report him because what do I do? Like I we need to figure out a way that I have zero contact with him. I don't know what he has, but he's like harassing me and acting really really weird. Like one day he's sending me like 35 different texts like he's like, "Your boyfriend is always at the house when I'm dropping her off and picking her up. You we need to find a different place to do that." >> So I don't want to put words in your mouth. I just want to make sure that I heard you correctly. So you guys essentially agreed to meet at Whole Foods. >> Yeah. >> You allowed him to have her an hour earlier for cuz it's usually 2 to 7 you said? >> Yep. >> But it was from 1 to 8, but because there were some issues at the dinner table, he decided he was like, "You're going to Whole Foods. I'm just going to drop her off early." >> You go there, you're doing some shopping. Um he meets you there. Uh you guys are walking out. You see some ice. You're going to go purchase some ice, and then he stays with stuff, right? So, he takes the backpack, you've got everything else. Uh you go back in, make the purchase. When you come out, he's putting her in the car seat. Um and then you mentioned like you guys don't really do it in each other's car, like you've got yours. >> Never done this before. I don't I don't know what I can do. >> So, he's putting her in the car, and you're insisting that you be the one to do it. Um and then at some point he turns around and says what? >> Uh he turned around and he said, "You're making a scene. You're making a scene." And then when I like tugged his jacket a little bit, he's like, "You just physically assaulted me." >> So, if this is him, this is this jacket is him. Show me how you how that happens. Okay. Was he still >> that many times. He's He's facing like this. >> He's in the car at this point like still >> in the car, like this. And I asked him literally 10 times. Ignoring me completely. I'm like, "Hey, can you hear me?" And I'm like, "You need to move. Like I'm going to ask you one more time. I'm going to call the police." And I was like, "Get the [ __ ] out of my car. Seriously. Like what what are you doing right now?" And he's just ignoring me. And so, I take his jacket and I'm pulling it like I'm pulling it like this, and I'm pulling it like that. And he turns around and he's like, "You just physically assaulted me." >> Okay. So, then he Did he sell the backpack? Like did you try to take it off him? >> No, I I took the backpack off when I put it in the car. He's not wearing the backpack at this point when I tugged his jacket. >> You took it off of him? >> Oh no, I didn't take it off of him. I just said, "Can I have it?" And he like let it go, and I grabbed it. >> But you were trying to basically remove him from the car because he was saying, "You're making a scene. You're making a scene." That's when you grabbed the jacket. After you had told him, "Get out of my car" a few times. >> Multiple times. >> Okay. >> Yeah. >> Um did you grab him at the wrist at all? >> I might have grabbed his hand when he he turned around. His hands were like this blocking the car, and And said, "I want I think I grabbed his wrist like this." And I was like, "You need to move right now. You need to move." Cuz he was getting in my face. >> I only asked because you had like a small scratch mark right here. >> me that. He told me that. >> Okay, maybe your nail or something, I'm guessing. It looks new. >> But Yeah, and so he's blocking me and getting in my face. And I was like, I was just waiting for him to hit me like But obviously like I'm trying to stay under control. Genuinely asked him about 90 different times and he's not moving. He's not moving. It's like he wants to get something out of me. And I'm trying to hold myself back. I'm like, "Please move." >> But you said like if no matter what time or who or anyone else, someone's standing between you and her. >> 100%. >> Okay. >> Like that's that's insane. What are you like what do you think you're doing? >> Did you at all ever thought about it at all cuz obviously it sounds like it was a tense situation. Did you think to just like back off and just call us? >> Yeah. I I literally said it. I said it to him. I was like, "I'm going to call the police." And then I was like, I mean, am I really going to call the police? Like he was just, you know, not letting me like get her into the into the car seat. And then after that when he's turned around he's blocking me from her car. I just I got to go. >> But his hands were up the whole time? He never like >> Not the entire time. He was >> What I'm saying like he didn't like touch you or anything. It was like you moved him because you wanted to get to your daughter. >> Yeah, no. He put his hands in front He put his hands in front of him like this and he was getting closer to me, getting in my face. And I was like, "Okay, you need to move. You need to move." >> So did he Did he come towards you while >> Yeah. Yeah. More than once. And I was like, "What are you doing right now?" Like I don't know. I didn't know what person like if I ask you 10 times like let me get to our daughter. >> Mhm. >> And he's purposely blocking the way. Then he's getting in front of me. It's like now this is something else. This is turning into something else. Like it's not just about saying goodbye to her. >> I wasn't there. There's no video. Um but >> There's no surveillance? >> No. Anyway. >> Well, we the middle of >> the distance between the car does and you is pretty small. So, are you maybe perceiving that he approached you just because of that short distance anyway? >> No, there's definitely space behind me. And I tugged his jacket. I'm not standing near him. I don't want to be near him. >> Okay. >> I'm standing back like this, and he comes in front of me. He's purposely walking in front of me. Anywhere I go, he's blocking the car. And so I'm like, he's not getting out of the way. >> Is that what happened? >> Getting out of the way? 100%. >> I only ask because you didn't mention that the first time you mentioned your story that he was like approaching you. >> Oh, yeah. He was getting in my face. >> Okay. >> Yeah. >> Um are you able to get those timestamps off your phone? >> Yeah, I can do it. >> cool. >> You want to do it over there? All right. You want to see it? >> Yeah, I'm going to, of course. >> Can I say that I'm out of the Whole Foods 6:52 p.m. >> Okay. And then what up? Anything else after that? As far as like what helps us with the timestamp. Did you say I'm here or anything like that? >> I have phone >> calls from then. Did he call you when he got there or anything? >> No. I was just there, and I saw them show up behind me in the aisle. That's it. >> Okay. >> But he did call me to tell me that he had her backpack. That was at 7:23. >> And that's like when he came back and this all happened. >> Yeah. Yeah. When he came back and said give it back like he left and then This is this is the last time he called me and this is two. How do I see both times? >> Um if you yeah. >> Okay, so I think he called me here to see where I was and I was pulling the car up when he called me here and I think I answered this or did I answer this one? I don't know which one but one of these is him asking where I was and I was like I'm pulling the car up I'm about to be in front. >> Okay. >> So that was at 7:35 with the house. Yeah. >> So just so I kind of understand this um he's telling your kids he's putting them in the car you tell him hey I don't want I don't want to do that stop and get out of my car he's not listening grabbing the backpack still tell him hey stop you tugging on his jacket to kind of be like how hard do you you just like is it more of like you were trying to physically move him? >> No. >> it like >> I physically said it the second time when he was blocking me out. >> Yeah so he turns around you have to tell him like you're making a scene making a scene doing like this coming towards you did you tell him get out of my way move away? >> Multiple times. >> When he's doing this? >> Yes. >> And he and he doesn't get out of your way? >> Doesn't. >> Okay and he gets closer while doing this. What and what's he saying just >> He's like Alex you're just uh physically assaulting me and he's like you're causing a scene you're causing a scene and he I don't know what else he said he said like something like either he wants to buckle her or something like that I don't know and I was like I was like listen you just say goodbye to her please you're causing a scene she's getting stressed out I can't even talk cuz he's screaming in my face and getting in front of me and I'm like I'm like starting I'm like he's getting in front of me there's nothing else I can do he's not going to move no matter what I do he's not getting out of the way. And I was like I was like I'm going to move you if you don't move. And you refused. And then when I like I grabbed his hand like I >> Did you grab both hands or one hands? >> just just one. >> And then you did what? Was it like a >> He was he was getting close to me like this and like right in front of me and I was like, "You need to move. You need to move." And I just grabbed him like that. >> Grab like that and then like I pulled him to the side sort of. >> like, "You need to move." And then he was like looking at me. He was like, He was like, "What are you doing?" >> And then after you pulled him to the side, was that pretty much the end of like the as far as >> I was like, "What are you doing?" And I was like, "Will, move." So then I like grabbed his jacket again and like kind of pushed him to the side. And then I got to her and then once I did that, >> Oh, after after the wrist you pulled you grabbed his jacket again and moved him. >> moved him out of my way. And he was not budging. He was not budging. And I was like, "All right, you're going to move. You're going to have to move." And then I got to her. Immediately she calms down and then I didn't even notice where he went. He just he just left and I didn't care, didn't think to deal with with it. >> Yeah. >> Cuz I'm focused on her. >> How old is he? Okay. How old is your oldest kid? >> So yeah, she was three then. >> Do you guys have like a custody agreement in place or is it just like verbal between the two of them at all? >> We just finished the suit. >> Sure. Yeah, you you're probably going to have to I mean >> 100% yeah. >> You get you guys might want to from here on out just do the exchanges at the police department. That's the best thing. >> great. Yeah. >> Right. >> So, apparently my boyfriend can't be here when he drops her off. Um, if he >> It's kind of unrealistic, yeah. >> Yeah, like if I if I'm not at home like 2 hours early when he wants to drop her off 2 hours early out of nowhere, then I'm in the wrong. I I don't know. >> That's living, that's living. >> Yeah. >> I know. Yeah. >> It is what it is. >> It's a tough situation. >> Yeah. >> You got to do whatever's best for your kid, though. >> Of course. So, I'm trying to like I'm trying my best to be cordial, to be polite. It was calm, but it's like he wants to get something out of me. And like like wants to cause something. >> Yeah, I feel you. >> You coming? >> Oh. Were you able to send your phone? >> Yeah. >> Yeah, I wrote down the two There's just two timestamps from the text and I called. >> out the text messages? >> It's okay. >> Okay. Right here is something about the text. Yeah, from >> All right. >> Oh, these are the ones you were reading from earlier that he sent you? >> No. This is unbelievable. Like he he told me this stuff. Like I'm scared. I'm I'm so concerned cuz no normal person would do that. >> Do you mind if I just scroll to see what time these were sent to you? It's okay. Okay. Um So, here's the thing, based on uh what he described and what you described, um as well as he does have a scratch mark on his wrist. Um everything does coincide with what happened. Um you're going to be placed under arrest for domestic battery, okay? Um hold on. Because you have a daughter here, we're not going to do this in front of your daughter. Um but are you comfortable with her staying here with your family? I'm assuming this is all your family, all right? >> Yes. >> I'll just need the info for at least one of them, whether it's just your dad or mom staying here. Um what's going to happen is I'm going to we're going to take you back to our station. You're going to have to go before a judge >> Okay. >> tomorrow, okay? I'll be putting in exactly what you told me, exactly what he told me, and my observations based on everything that I've gathered this far. All right? I just want to make sure this wasn't going to be in front of your daughter cuz she doesn't need to see that, okay? Do you have shoes out here that we can grab? >> Yeah. >> Uh do you need anything like a wallet or anything or are you good with just your phone? >> Am I going to need my ID? >> If you can grab it, otherwise I have your your anyway. It'll be on everything, so if you just need your phone or if you don't need your phone you leave it here because there's certain things that Connie accepts and that they don't accept. >> Okay, I'll bring my phone. >> Okay. So, do me a favor just stand right here for me and just put your hands behind your back. >> One question. One question. Um >> I'm hearing it. What's your question? >> Why is he not being placed under arrest? >> Because it's domestic battery. You're the one who admitted to putting your hands on him. >> But he's locking me in and not letting me get into my own car. >> Yep. And maybe just next time just disengage and call the police, okay? Are any of these your shoes that you want to put on real quick? >> Yeah. Can I tell my family? Or are you going to tell them? >> Well, of course we will. Whatever you're comfortable with. I mean Is your This your dad here? >> Am I Not here. He's working right now. >> Who is 1402 Mark 195? >> That's my >> Okay. >> My phone's all over right now. >> Do you need help? >> I got it. >> All right. >> All right. You're going to tell them? >> Sorry? >> You're going to tell >> Yeah, it's okay. I just >> We just don't want to Yeah, they're kidding or anything. >> I'm going to >> So, um who is the guardian here for your for your daughter? >> Say my mom. >> Okay. That's your All right, we'll come out and talk to her in just a minute, okay? >> Uh she doesn't speak good English. Can you >> Uh I'll put this I mean, I'm not I'm not worried about the water but I just I don't know if she wants to make this a bigger scene for her than it needs to be. You know what I mean? >> Where are you guys taking her? >> St. Charles Police Station. Uh no, you got Nick, are may You want to put her in my car? >> Yeah. >> Yeah, I'll talk to them. Here's my keys. >> Still no service so you want to come in? Still no service so you want to come in and stuff, so. Uh straight across the street. >> Yeah. Do you want him to explain everything to them? >> Sure. >> It'll be the white one behind this black one. >> Yeah. >> Do you have anything in your pockets or anything? >> In front. >> Is that just in the front, right? >> Yeah. >> Okay. You got to see it on here, so it's It's a solid 20 degrees in like every other part of here. Put your seatbelt on. Hold on, one second. Um I'm going to pat you down. It's going to be with the back of my hand, okay? Uh you said the phone is in this pocket? >> Yeah. >> I'm just going to grab that out, okay? Again, just the back of my hand, okay? Same thing here. I'm going to pull your pants up for you. Anything in your other pocket? >> No. >> Okay. All right, you can take a seat and I'll put your seatbelt on. I'll make sure you don't fall. >> Do I go under this or how do >> Under, yeah. And then just sit in how you are. >> Oh. >> And then I'll put this down right here. Oh. >> Oh, this is Oh. >> I'll put this phone up here, okay?
