Let's see what it's all about. >> On January 23rd, 2023, officers responded to a deadly crash on I40 in Albuquerque. A drunk driver plowed into cars parked on the shoulder, leaving two people fighting for their lives. [Music] >> So, the driver in all black um did the driving, get into the drinking, and he stated that he doesn't know what happened. The wreck just happened. He said he was driving west. He said he was they were coming from at first a bar and then friends off the course of 40. Okay. Hey partner. Oh, sorry. I'm officer G with APD. What's your name? >> Ray. >> Ray, what happened tonight? >> Look at my check. >> That's my baby. >> No, we're fine. >> We're okay though. That's what matters. You know, look at my truck. It's up right now. So these guys these guys they want to eye like they're hurt and they left. We're still here. Look at my truck. Look how how bad my truck is right now. >> How much you had to drink today, man? >> Uh maybe like three beers. That's it. >> How long ago was that? >> Uh like an hour ago. >> Okay. So I'm going to ask you to do some field sobriety test. You be willing to do that? >> Yeah. >> No injuries from the crash? >> No. >> No. You hit your head on anything? No, my truck just up. That's >> okay. Any other injuries or medical conditions that affect your ability to walk, stand, or balance? >> You're here? >> No, >> we're not here. >> Okay. Well, I'm just You were You were driving, right? >> Yeah, I was driving. >> All right. So, we're going to walk over here a little bit. >> Yes. >> Though he was crying with red, bloodshot, watery eyes, officers could clearly see he was drunk. His tears weren't for the victims fighting for their lives. They were only for his wrecked truck. You wear glasses or contact lenses? >> I have glasses in my truck. >> Okay. What do you wear them for? >> Uh to drive. >> Okay. For like seeing far away. >> Uh I can see better with them. >> Okay. All right. >> I can do it without them though. >> Your hands to your sides all the way in front. So your feet are in line just like mine. >> Yes. >> Your hands to your sides. You're going to stay just like this while I explain and demonstrate what I want you to do. You understand? Uh >> can I ask you something though? >> What's up? >> This guy's just left like nothing happened to And then you're testing me like if I was my fault in three. >> You think it's fair that these guys left like nothing and my truck's out my truck. >> I see. I saw >> I I'm just hurt right now. >> I get it. I wasn't here for all that. >> Yeah. Oh, it's okay. >> You understand the instruction demonstration? Yes. >> Okay. Make sure you keep your hands to your sides for the entire duration of the test. And once you start walking, don't stop until you completed the test. So go ahead and get back to your starting position there. Other way around. Right foot in front. Go ahead and begin. One, two, 3 4 5 6 7 [Music] I'm scared right now to be honest. Okay. Do you want me to go back? [Music] >> All right, sir. So, right now you're under arrest for DD. You turn on the trans. >> Okay. >> Keep blocking the sound. >> Those of y'all who know me on this channel and y'all know what I say all the time. All y'all already going to know. I mean, y'all already going to know. You already know what I'm going to say. >> Mhm. >> So, I'm going to save it to the end of the video. >> Is there anything you need to look >> like your phone or anything like that? >> Um, I think I got my phone with me in my glasses. That's it. >> I didn't see your I didn't feel your phone anywhere. >> Uh, maybe in my pockets. I don't know. Maybe it's in my truck. >> Okay. Well, we're going to back Come back here. Okay. All right. Go ahead and have a seat for me. It's also cold as [ __ ] out here. [Music] >> Oh, is the ambulance not there yet? Yeah. >> What kind of phone is yours? >> It's an iPhone 13. >> What kind? >> What color is it? >> It's uh gold. >> It's this one here. >> Yeah, that's it. >> Yeah. I ain't bad smirking, >> you know. I was reading the CAD and I was on my way home and I was like, >> so I know that he got victim ID. He was working on getting the other passenger ID and he got the doctor's story. >> And when officers finally booked him into the station, they informed him that one of the victims didn't make it. That's the moment his expression completely changed. All right, Brandon. So, I'm going to give you a little bit better idea what's going on today. Okay. >> So, he hit two different cars, right? >> I know you told officers that you didn't know what happened in the crash. So, I'll explain it to you. So, two cars were parked in the right shoulder cuz one of them was had a flat tire and they were changing the tire. You struck the rear vehicle which subsequently hit the front vehicle where two people were outside of that vehicle changing a tire. One of those individuals was killed as a result of their injuries that you caused during the crash. The second person is still in critical condition at UNM hospital with bleeding of their brain and multiple facial fractures. So today, you're being charged with one count of homicide by motor vehicle DWI and one count of great bodily harm by motor vehicle DWI. Currently, I'm uh awaiting approval on a search warrant to have your blood drawn to be tested for alcohol content. and or drug content depending upon the results of alcohol content. So, as soon as uh I get that warrant approval, I have a phabotamist that'll come over here. She's going to draw your blood. Um that blood draw will be by the order of a judge. Okay? I know this is not pleasant and this is certainly not what you want to hear. I'm going to get you through this process as quickly as I can. You're going to get booked on those charges today. Um, you'll probably have to wait for a a first appearance in front of a judge. Um, probably not till Monday or Tuesday. Um, because the district court judges don't work over the weekends. Uh, and then, uh, the case will proceed from there. You'll have to get an attorney and and just follow whatever advice that they give you, okay? Um, but that's kind of where we're at today. Um, so I will get my part of it done as quickly as I can so that this process will go as quickly as possible for you. um and and we'll go from there. Okay. If you have any questions along the way, I'll do my best to answer them. >> Praise me. >> Um and I can answer pretty much anything outside of an answer that would be construed as legal advice. >> You said I hate those guys, right? >> Who have I hate them? >> Yeah, >> but my trouble was never on the like that lane. My truck was in the middle of it. >> Well, state police took the uh >> We got pictures, right? >> Well, state police is doing the accident investigation. >> My truck was never on the like in the passer lane. >> Your truck hit them people. >> I don't know what that lane is called. The one that you go over to to whatever change your tire. >> The shoulder. >> Yeah, the shoulder. My My truck was not there, right? Well, that's where your truck was when I got on scene. >> Really? >> Yeah. >> Was my truck there? >> Yeah. >> You got pictures of that? >> It's on camera. >> Okay. >> Raymond is charged with homicide by vehicle, great bodily harm by vehicle, and DWI. A second homicide charge could be added if the second victim doesn't survive. >> Oh, >> wow. >> Listen, man. Listen, listen, listen. Y'all know what I'm about to say right now cuz I say in all the most recent videos that you really you wasn't in it doing it with me. I don't understand why alcohol is legal. I don't understand it. You know who I think should get locked up to? And I I I'm going I'm going forward with this. The people who make the alcohol, they should be held accountable. But here go some people in defense. Here they go. Well, nobody tells them to drink. >> What you think alcohol made for? to get you intoxicated. Why you making something that's gonna destroy your liver and get you intoxicated for profit? Greed. I think people, they should be held accountable for making the alcohol, too, >> as well as those people who do the homicide, who get drunk and drive and do the homicide. And they always talk about weed and stuff like that. >> Weed, to me, weed ain't that bad as alcohol and liquor. We how many how many how many under lives we gonna have to see for y'all to do something about alcohol. I don't care what y'all say because I know everybody want to get their drink on and ain't alcohol. It's the person alcohol has a purpose to get you intoxicated >> and then you you when you get intoxicated you do crazy stuff like this. I just had three beers and beer nasty anyway. I don't see how the hell y'all like beer. Beers taste like nothing like piss water. I don't know how piss water taste, but that's what it tastes like to me. And you know what I'm saying? Like two about almost two people about to be under because of you. And then he's still talking about my truck. >> That's all he's worried about. >> Yes. What you want to add to it, man? We live in a world now where the most bizarre things has become such the norm until when you try to bring the argument of what you're saying to somebody. >> They'll say you're crazy. >> They'll say you're crazy. >> You're crazy. Alcohol isn't >> whatever BS you can come up with would not be true. Alcohol is a drug. >> Alcohol alters your mood. It alters your um your mental state. It al alters your um >> your vision. It everything. >> Yeah. >> It's it's not called spirits for nothing. Right. >> It it's an >> it's one of the most intoxicating things you can do to get yourself inebriated quickly. Yes. Other than just shooting a needle right into your neck. You know what I'm saying? or something like what more like you said, what more evidence do we need before we go back to making alcohol illegal? >> Yep. >> All of these people are not dead just cause. It's It's scary enough to just drive on the road and try to make it home from A to Z without getting in a car accident and have half the world [ __ ] drunk. >> Yep. >> Just off of alcohol. >> Yes, man. Oh, and and then you still have to worry about the crackheads out there wanting to get in the car and drive. Did you I don't know. Have you seen there was a video going around um recently of like first of all, let me just say I am a video junkie. I I love watching the videos. I I don't know. But I saw where a man a man was on the road in the in the driving lane >> humped over and the people had to come and wake him up while he was in the in the road. >> He was in the road. >> Yeah. He was at the light and everyone was like, "Hey bro, are you alive?" And >> he was high >> and he I don't He was He had to be on drugs. It could have not just been alcohol. He had to be on drugs. But he was like hed over >> and they just they couldn't get him like coherent. >> Yeah. >> And I just I just I don't I don't understand how the more life goes on and progresses, we're supposed to be getting smarter, but we're getting dumber. >> Yep. >> To the point where someone's going to have an argument about what you just said. >> I I I was just I was just about to say that. Mhm. >> I >> when we make the fight when we made the argument about illegal hand weapons. >> Yeah. >> We Oh. Oh. >> It's not the G1's, it's the people. Like what? >> If you want the most dislikes in the world on the video, just say something about pie piles. >> Yeah. >> If you I said something I said something about the dude that just recently got under alive, Charlie Kirk. That's the name. I don't know why I want to say Charlie Dirt. >> Yeah. >> Charlie Kirk and I said they're g they're going to be more unalivvens until we do something about the gun problem. I got so much dislike about saying that it's not the guns, it's the people. It's the crazy people, which I do agree. >> Right. >> I do agree. >> Yes. >> But what do you think the guns are made for? To unalive you. To put you in pain. >> That's the whole purpose. So, I'm saying this about alcohol. It shouldn't even be no argument, but somebody go be what? That it's not it's not alcohol. What do you think it's for? That's like you saying, uh I I'm trying to use a a logical example. That's like you saying I can't even think of a logical answer. >> Um helium and balloons. >> Uh-huh. What about it? >> Okay. You know that helium is only supposed to be for blowing up balloons, right? >> If multiple tens of thousands of people started inhaling helium, they would put sanctions on how you can buy helium. >> They would put it behind a wall and say you got to have a so and so buy just like cigarettes, >> right? >> Um but yet you can go with your ID in any store. You can go in any bar, any restaurant and still buy alcohol. No sanctions. >> Yeah. >> Other than you got to be 21 and you got to have ID. >> Yep. >> That's crazy. >> But you if you want to, you know, get high on some helium though. >> Yep. >> They will end up putting some sanctions on you. >> It's so crazy. Yeah. >> Cigarettes, another thing. Well, I'm not preaching. Yeah. >> Y'all live your life how you want to live, but I'm still gonna speak my mind. >> Cigarettes, another thing. May cause cancer. I've seen the cigarette companies argue with Congress and all those senators up there about well you know so and so and so and so and so and they always win for some reason you know the thing causes cancer nothing should be in your lungs these poisons going in your lungs every day the people smoke they losing their voice and all kind of stuff got holes in their throats >> for smoking cigarettes but nothing's wrong with it >> right >> well the people shouldn't smoke but why you sell it >> do you get what I'm saying right >> you shouldn't well you shouldn't buy it but why you selling and Take it in cuz you greedy as hell. >> It's greed, man. This world is taken down from greed. >> Yes. >> They put stuff in our foods. >> High fructose corn syrup in our foods and have us addicted to it. >> They said, >> "Well, if you It's okay. They put stuff they put stuff you make paint out of in your food, but just a little bit is okay. >> If we eat it every day, right, >> it's a buildup, >> right? >> Cancer came from somewhere. I don't know >> exactly. >> Do you see what I'm saying? The world is so crazy, man. I had to go on a rant, y'all. >> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. >> I just had to go on a rant. >> We We do. We do. >> I just had to go on R cuz I care about y'all. I don't want y'all out here unliving people and being drunk and being crazy, man. We We got We go through enough in life. >> Yes. We just we just love everybody and we don't want nobody to see want to see nobody on the lie because somebody's stupid >> and want to be drunk because he had three beers and can't hold his beer. >> Right. >> That's all I got to say. >> Yeah. And this is a this is a average man of an average size and if it only took three beers to get him >> um drunk. Imagine what somebody who is a right a hardened alcoholic >> um how much he can drink or consume and then get in a car and is for some reason in his dumb mind expected that he going to make it home safe. >> Yes. >> Like there's got to be a stop to it. >> Yes. >> But because people want to celebrate using alcohol, people just shunt it off as oh that was just an unfortunate situation. >> It's not an unfortunate situation. Do you know how many people die? Yes. >> From alcohol um induced accidents every year. >> Mhm. >> Come on, man. >> And and and it's not an unfortunate situation. Nobody care about nothing until it happened to them. >> Exactly. >> That's all I'm going to say about that. >> Thank y'all for the love supporting this channel. You good? >> I'm good. >> Thank y'all for the love of supporting this channel. You know, we had to rant. You know, we had to vent. You know how we do. We do things different on this channel. >> We like We watch these videos, but we like to have a discussion behind it. >> Yeah. everybody else. I see these other reactors and they just they be on some other BS. For us, we want to discuss and just interact with y'all. So, thank y'all. Come to the comments. We love it. Whether y'all disagree with us or not, we >> whether y'all agree with us or not, we love it. Thank y'all for being here. Until next time, don't get caught slipping drunk >> on camera.
