you guys heard before she was charged
with disorderly conduct now let me give
you the update it's about the case of
Karen Huger now I've covered her on the
channel before she's from the real
housewi a pomac and she was arrested for
DUI she was completely plastered and she
has mult multiple priors now I was
concerned that Justice was not going to
get served because she is filthy rich
they call her husband the black Bill
Gates and he is loaded so I thought
maybe her attorney would be able to have
her found not guilty and she would avoid
consequences for her actions but it
turns out that's not the case she risked
it she went to trial and now she was
found guilty and her sentence is one
year in prison now we're not talking
about one year as a suspended sentence
we're talking about a real year in
prison take a look at this Fox 5 and
just into the Fox 5 Newsroom we do have
a sentence for Real Housewife of pic
star Karen Huger just now sentenced to
one year in jail prosecutors have been
looking for a 2-year sentence with all
but 6 months suspended in this case the
judge made a different decision deciding
that Karen Huger should go to jail for
one year now this all goes back to the
ACT accident in which she was ultimately
convicted of DUI that accident happening
in Montgomery County last year just
about one year ago and then of course
she took this to trial and was convicted
in December of last year so a few months
ago today was sentencing day and again
that sentence coming down just a short
time ago one year in prison for Real
Housewives of pic star Karen Huger um
Steve one of her castmates uh the
daughter of Chuck Brown was there I
spoke to her on the way up uh she did
not testify the only person actually
testified besides uh Karen Huger was her
husband Raymond who uh you I've got tons
of notes so I'm I'm not going to try to
read them here uh but I will just kind
of paraphrase um just saying that you
know she was a good person worked hard
uh in recent weeks to try to uh uh make
good on what happened in March of last
year uh Karen Huger herself before the
sentencing uh told the judge she was
sorry that this was a wakeup call that
she was going to try to uh work hard on
her sobriety attend AA meetings for the
rest of her life and be an advocate uh
for uh you know promoting people not to
drink and drive in my opinion it's a
little too late especially when you're
that rich you have no excuse to be
driving drunk now working on her
sobriety is complete nonsense honestly I
couldn't care less if she was drunk
every single day and plastered in the
morning as long as she doesn't drive I
know plenty of Alcoholics that don't
drink and drive is just common sense and
respect for your life and other people's
lives on the road in this situation I
don't think that alcohol is really to
blame it's her attitude the fact that
she thinks she's better than everybody
else and she's entitled to special
privileges like drunk driving that's the
problem um the state had asked for 2
years of incarceration suspending all
but 6 months uh but judge Terren McAn I
mean he he listened and and seemed uh uh
uh open to the arguments that uh Miss
huger's attorney was making but at the
end basically laid down the law he
blasted the guidelines that uh the the
state and and the judicial system here
are kind of operating under he thinking
that the punishment should have been
more uh they were very careful someone
at one point was uh blogging on Reddit
so they told everybody you've got to
shut off your phones I didn't turn mine
off I made sure it was silent so that's
when as soon as the judge said uh I'm
not going to follow the state's
recommendation I'll sentence you to two
years in uh incarceration suspending all
but one year that uh the state was
looking for 6 months in jail honestly
that's fantastic the judge looked at
this situation and said [ __ ] Your
Privilege and I'm not going to listen to
the prosecutor here you go one year in
jail instead of 6 months
that is fantastic and we need more
judges like that now that's it for the
