I'm calling to let you know that Ras were for some reason in your dorm room and they found a bag of marijuana do you already know this hello I'm officer farmer I have a body cam on just so you know what do we have here right here okay this was off of a student a students room we know who you know who who um is living in the space okay so they like voluntarily give a to guys I think their roommate did so I'm not sure I have to ask the I don't have the report yet cuz the student staff are out and about checking all the rooms and that's how they found it and the bong so they'll have an instant report we have it with a picture in the room just to clarify with them I can message them to see if the roommate was there cuz obviously I know that can mess with investigation it could also just be that there was just one student living in the room I have to check there should only be one right now I'm more worried about like um since weed is technically not illegal if you're not 21 true let me double check her age for you she is 19 okay hello this is Officer farmer hi officer farmer this is Olivia you called me earlier hi I'm calling to let you know that Ras were for some reason in your dorm room and they found a bag of marijuana do you already know this yes I do okay so that bag was then given to me just because it's Contraband and it's on campus and you're under 21 to let you know just to calm your nerves I have no intentions of like charging you criminally or anything like that just wanted to call you number one because usually when this is done like the student or resident like kind of consensually hands over the bag to resident staff and it sounds like they for some reason or another were in your room when you were not there so I just wanted to make sure that one that you knew about it and I don't know why they were in your room and you can deal with residents staff if if you want to on on that issue if that's an issue I don't I don't know what their policies are um and then number two I just go ahead sorry I they didn't leave like a thing on my door stting that they had come in nor did they try to contact me nor did they like tell me that they're going to be coming into my room okay yeah I don't know I don't know how um to deal with that uh but like you can if you wanted to deal with that you can go through resident staff that's not really a police a police issue but I just wanted to make sure that you knew how this marijuana got to me and also I wanted to give you the opportunity like uh it it's like you're the only one that is living in that room but I wanted to um actually I'm going to back up for a sec just so let you know I have a body camera on so we're being audio recorded okay that's fine but like I said earlier I I have no in I of of charging you um more more of the reason I wanted to talk to you was to make sure that uh it's not someone else's uh I know that you're the only one that is residing in that room but um it could be someone else's or I wanted to make sure that you didn't have some kind of medical marijuana certification or anything like that no I don't okay so it's just strictly basically for recreational use yes sir okay that's that's all I really needed it's basically it's in Police Department evidence and anytime that marijuana is on campus basically our protocol is to just confiscate it and it gets destructed through our evidence process like I said I'm not pursuing any charges or anything like that although I will warn you that it is I know that weed is technically legal to have in the state but you are under 21 so that is technically a charge but uh like I said I'm not going to go I'm not going to go that route but it will be confiscated it will be destroyed and this is most likely the last time you'll be hearing from me or the police about this okay thank you so much sir does that make sense do you have any questions for me no I don't have any questions for you thank you okay all right well thank you for calling me back and you have a good night thank you you too thank you bye-bye bye
