I'm going to detain you and put you in my car so I can talk to you. >> The attorney. One second. Victoria, I'm asking you. Would you tell this man? No. The uh the other cop did the same thing. Okay. And he learned his lesson, too. >> All right. But he didn't. You going to comply with me and go sit over there? >> What I'm going to do is is I know the law. Then you know what? Drive her to a hospital. >> Then let's drive to a hospital. >> You drive her to a hospital. If you can get her to commit herself, that's fine. But we're not going to do it. She's not showing anything that's going to harm anybody or herself. >> Okay. >> All right. >> And Eastern. >> But she called because you assaulted her. That's why we're here. >> That's why we're here. I am trying to stop her from uh uh what she does. The paranoid delusional psychosis. She forgets. >> So she paranoid, delusionally psychosis. The fact that you hit her in front of Akens. >> I did not touch her. This is my wife and I love her. I've went through nine years of this uh and I'm not going to continue um to keep going through it. Um if you like to ask the other gentleman, he used to work for Ritzville uh until he was the sheriff. Uh and then he went ahead and crossed my boundaries. Um, and then I showed him my power of attorneys. Um, unless you're Supreme Court, it ain't gonna happen unless you can overrule that. >> It doesn't matter if you have notoriized or not. You cannot stop her from talking to us. If somebody needs to talk to us because they're reporting something, you can't stop them. >> It's not a >> You understand? >> It's not a >> She She has the right to report whatever she wants to. >> We will investigate it from there. Somebody needs to come. You need to >> do it. >> You're Hey, >> you're under arrest. You're under arrest, sir. Stop. >> Stop. Stop. Stop. 254 Ritzville. He got back in the car. He's trying to drive away. 254. He just went south on Jackson. I'm going to stay here with the other person. >> Brian was successfully able to escape police as pursuing him was not authorized. A few days later, separate officers received a 911 call about a suspicious man trying to forcibly enter a house in Spokane County, Washington. And you'll never guess who it was. >> Can you take your other take take your hand behind your back? What are you doing over here? Um, >> it's Jason Weber. >> Yeah. >> Looking for Jason Weber. What's your birthday? >> 06 09 is 86. >> He's saying 6986. Hey, hands out of your pocket. Thank you. So, whose door did you knock on? >> Uh, I >> can you can you look at me when I'm so I can hear you? >> Oh, I apologize. >> Sorry, I don't have a teeth. >> That's okay. Why is there camera footage of you knocking on the door and then when no one answered, you tried the handle? >> I don't understand what you're saying. >> What's your middle initial? >> Jason Decker Weber. >> 6986. [Music] >> Yep. You're going to be detained for now, buddy, cuz we're going to figure out what's going on. So, I'm going to give you one more chance to tell me who you are. Do you have any ID on you? Okay, so here's the deal. We've run through the credit bureau. We've gone through the Texas DMV. We've gone through the Washington DMV. >> Sorry, I I don't mind talking to Jill. I a little embarrassed about my mouth. >> So, let's start fresh. What is your first name? Cuz if we're going to play the name game, we'll just go to jail and be really simple. But this is your kind of last and final offer here. We're going to figure out who you are since you're lying about your name and you're going up to people's houses and knocking on doors and grabbing door handles. So, what's your first name? >> I'll talk. I'll I'll be cooperative. I just got to get something. >> It doesn't work that that way where it's not a negotiation. You don't make any rules. You don't make any decisions. >> You either tell us who you are, you go to jail. So, who are you? >> What do you guys want from me? I I >> What is your name? >> Let's do it this way. >> No, no, we're not doing it your way. We're doing it our way. >> That's what I said. >> Okay. What's your name? >> My name is Ryan. B I A N. Last name is Summer. You guys don't have to do this. >> All right. Hey, Brian. So, right now, you're under arrest for making false or misleading statements. Okay. Just so you're aware of that. We're going to figure out what Adams County wants to do with whatever whatever business you got going on over there. Okay. >> So, that's going to be up to them if they decide to come pick you up or what the deal is. Appreciate you coming clean. >> When a knife comes out, the entire dynamic changes. And for me, the entire space that I was in actually shrink. Because remember, a blade doesn't have to be fired to be deadly because it's already in range the second it's drawn. Imagine being in a career where you have to switch from deescalation to survival mode in seconds. One moment you're trying to talk to someone's better nature, even though I don't think he had one, and the next you're calculating distances, weapon angles, and whether you're about to get stabbed. And that whiplash isn't just dangerous, it's exhausting. A lot of people think police just call for backup and wait for more units to arrive. But in real life, the clock doesn't work like that. Because by the time help is in route, the fight may already be over and not in your favor. And when a taser fails, it's probably a spike of adrenaline for the suspect because now the suspect knows what you've tried. You have to be ready for them to escalate. These situations are decided in heartbeats, but judged for years and people see the headlines and charges, but they rarely see the knife point, the narrow escape, and the quick choices that kept somebody alive. And a citizen stepping in to help may seem heroic and in many ways it is. But it's also an unexpected twist for the officer because now there's another life to protect, another variable to manage. And there's no guarantee that the person helping won't also end up in danger. But this call is a reminder that the moment a weapon is drawn, the threat isn't just to one person or one officer. It's to the whole community. But the question I've often had is how does law enforcement contain something that refuses to stay in one place? >> Brian was charged with first and thirdderee felonious assault, felony eluding, obstruction, and resisting arrest. He is innocent unless proven guilty in a court of
