On March 1st, 2024, police were
dispatched to Orlando International
Airport after reports of a battery in
progress.
2397 right there.

the moment we got on the bus.

But pretty much uh it started with the
lady. She was trying to lay lay down.

>> It was a backpack. She was trying to lay
on the uh lap. She was on the far side.
>> The the far would be the driver's side.
>> The left side. Yeah.
>> Okay.
>> So, it was her, him, and then me. And
then she was trying

>> Yeah. And then So, she was trying to lay
down. He laid on her and then she was
like stop like don't lay on me and then
that's when like pretty much from then
on it just kept going and then they were
just arguing the whole time back and
forth.

>> I want to say that they're married. She
says that she said they have four kids.
>> Okay.
>> Um
>> and you were sitting just right of him.
Yeah. Right on the right hand. Um, and
then the whole time they were kind of
just arguing back and forth and he was
kind of just like saying like, you know,
uh, like phone call out her name, phone,
saying, "I'm ruin your life when we get
home you hate you." And I was like, "All
right, that's cool." Like, you know what
I mean? Whatever. Like,

>> if you want to, you know,
>> right? That's married talk. Whatever.
>> Get it.
>> So, what happened after that?
>> So, then as we as we get around the
corner from seat, so we drop off a lady
at seat.
>> Okay.
>> As we come back around the corner,
they're still arguing and stuff. And
then he goes um she I don't I didn't
hear what she said, but she said
something to him and he put his forearm
into her chin. Okay.
>> Kind of pinned her up against the glass.
And then that's when me and the lady
right here both were like, "Yo, hey,
bro. Like stop." Like, "Bro, don't do
that [ __ ] right now." Like I told him, I
was like, "Bro, I got kids. I don't want
to see that shit." Can I get another
>> uh he was like, "I didn't do anything."
We were like, "Bro, like we just watched
you put your [ __ ] form in there, put
her up against the L." And then we told
him
>> and then we all just kind of watched.
Nothing else happened from CTO here, but
that's pretty much what happened.
>> Did um after that I guess elbow went
into the neck or the chin on the glass.
Was that his left elbow or his right
elbow?
>> Uh he leaned over so it' be his right.
So he he went in and did like that.

a cruise with your in-laws my
kicked off like the ship. I swear to
God.

I've never been there. That was our
first cruise.
We've been married 20 years.
>> Yeah. It's the first time I've been
handcuffed in my life.

>> Four years.
>> Four kids. Okay. So, just give it just a
little scan cuz I kind of came here on
the tail end.

left the hotel or something just walking
through the event of where we are now.
Well, he drank all night until about 2
or 2:30 and then came in
and we had to be up really early because
we wanted to be off of the boat and so I
>> So, you guys come back from the cruise.

>> I tried to
um wake him up and all that and
He's just been super pissed and super
irritated and super mad
>> throughout throughout the cruise or
>> all of it.
>> We actually had a dispute on the cruise
and we were separated at one point on
the cruise.
>> Was it physical on the cruise as well?
>> Yes.
>> Did you report that to them there? No.
>> No. Okay.
Um, I mean, I I did go to security and I
did they did ask me all the questions,
>> but I didn't dare to tell.
>> So, you were reluctant to tell him what
happened. Okay.
>> Yeah.
>> Okay.
So, you guys get back here, get on dry
land.
>> Yeah. And he says, "Now that we're on
dry land, there's nothing that anybody
can do." And then my parents, we all
live My parents live in Utah. I live in
Colorado. And he's like, "As soon as
your parents aren't in the picture
anymore. There's nothing anybody can do.
You have no idea what you've done. You
have no clue what you've done. I'm going
to shatter your life. I'm going to
shatter your phone. I'm going to You're
not welcome at my house." And then
that's when he wanted my wallet. He
wanted my He wanted my phone and my
wallet. And so that he ripped it I had
it on and he ripped as he ripped one of
the straps off. And then I didn't want
to give it to him. So then I had it like
this the rest of the time. But everybody
saw him rip this. Well, these guys saw
him rip this first one off. And so then
I was sitting here like this and I was
just quiet the whole time. And
he just kept proceeding. I'm going to
ruin everything. I'm going to shatter
your life. I'm going to whatever.
And then he was trying to rip this off
my neck. And that's when the lady turned
around and said, "I'm done. I've
listened to you for the last hour and I
just saw you choke her and I am done. It
is my duty as a paramedic, as a citizen,
whatever to you're done."
>> And then he was like, "What? I'm good.
Tell her I didn't choke." You know what
I mean? And then he was calm.
>> Okay. So, is there you have any
significant injury? anything that you
need to be be seen medically for or
anything?
>> No.
>> Things not a broken heart.
>> I can understand that. Um, do you plan
what do you plan to do when you get back
to Colorado?
>> Um, my parents are
having me hop on a different flight and
my parents are taking me home to Utah
and then they're going to go with me to
Colorado to pack up my stuff to grab my
kids and grab what I need to do. Okay.
He was say he won't be going with you
cuz he'll be going with me. So you'll be
staying here. Okay. So that'll give you
time to get back home and make the
necessary arrangements that you need to
take care of.
>> For how long?
>> Um I can't say exactly how long. I'm
assuming probably
a couple days maybe.
Okay. But he is going to be arrested
here and charged with domestic battery.
It's okay.
Relax.
>> I know. It's just stupid.
I stand over here.
>> What? Are they making faces at you or
something or what?
>> No, they're thanking a lady that told
everybody I'm I was choking her. I've
never choked her. like
they're saying thank you like
I've always said
for you I know you do my fat ass arms
keep getting heavier
why don't they ever cut the [ __ ] What's
that?
>> Why don't they ever cuff women?
>> We do. Believe Believe it or not.
>> No, I won't lie to you, man. My last

>> I don't even know why I got cuffed.
>> Oh, yeah. Because Karen said I choked.
>> Well, it was actually a male who said
that, man. But
>> Well, yeah. No, it was the driver cuz
she's like, "You got to call security
when we get there."
>> But it's fine. I mean, I get it, man.
Okay.
>> Hi, how are you? Just want to give me a
quick synopsis of what you saw.
>> Okay. So, we boarded at the Cape
Canaveral and he he was sitting here
behind me and she was sitting right
there behind me and immediately it
started. He started yelling at her and
calling her names and pulling at her
stuff and and I mean the whole way here
he was threatening her. um you know,
yeah, I'm going to shatter you. I'm
going to shatter your life. Effing this,
effing. I mean, just just cussing at her
and just verbally assaulting her the
whole way. And then another lady had to
get off of the van. So, we all kind of
got off the van and then got back on and
she was sitting right here. So, I really
could just hear them for the trip. And
then when I got back on, I got on and I
sat. So, I had this seat, both seats. So
I kind of got on and I kind of sat
sideways to face my husband and so I
could see them. He continued to yell at
her. He continued to get like this close
to her face up in her ear. And then all
of a sudden he just kind of he was like
this. She was sitting here. She wasn't
mounding off to him. She just kept
saying, "Okay, okay." And he just all of
a sudden got up on his left knee and
just went like this. put his wrist right
here on my neck and was like this and
was in her face like right up in her ear
hollering and he was choking her and she
was right in the face and she was like
you know and I just turn around like
okay you're going to I don't even know
what I said I'm just like okay you're I
said that's enough you know you're going
to stop and he immediately when he
figured out I don't know I think he was
just in such a violent frame of mind
that he just lost the fact that he was
surrounded by people doing this. And so
anyway, it escalated escalated. Finally,
when I told him that and he was choking
her, I said, "You're going to that's
enough." And and he he got up. He goes,
"I'm not doing anything. I'm not doing
anything. I didn't choke her." I said,
"I saw you. I saw you choke her." And
then he was like, "Okay." And I said,
"Well, you did that for the wrong person
because I'm going to report you." And he
goes, "That's fine. Don't kind of call
me James." But he sat down and then he
would and then he was like he didn't
come at any
>> So when this occurred were you guys had
just left Canaveral or how far were you
here from the airport or
>> probably 3 minutes from the airport like
just we had dropped another lady off at
jet flew.
>> Okay.
>> And so we had just come around the port.
He got back in and almost immediately
when he got back in started on her.
>> Okay. So you guys were on airport
property when that happened.
>> Yes.
>> Yes. And then and then he choked her was
choking her out and it
>> Thank you. I appreciate your help.
Right. And she appreciates it.
>> Okay. We're all done.
>> All right. Thank you.

>> Stand up.
>> Here's your property over here.
>> Okay. Yeah. They already searched you,
but I got to put you in my car, so I'm
going to make sure you don't have
anything on you. All right.
>> You got anything on you? It's going to
poke you in here.
>> No, I have no weapon.
>> All right, just relax.

>> Yeah.
>> They can't go to the jail. So, they're
going to either have to go with your
family or they're going to have to go to
property living downtown.
>> We're going to jail.

I really don't.
>> Okay, it's kind of tight in there. So,
what I need you to do is turn around and
put your butt in first, then swing your
legs in.
