On the afternoon of November 13, 2024, Spokane Valley Sheriff's deputies and Spokane Valley firefighters were dispatched to a vehicle versus motorcycle collision at Sprag and McDonald. Soon afterward, deputies were informed that the at fault rider of the motorcycle had fled the scene. This clip is from a Spokane Valley deputies body cam video as he contacts a male right in front of the valley precinct who matches the suspect's description. Stop now. Stop. They need another unit. I got mine. Stop now. Nope. Right now. [ __ ] pull it. Notice the suspect's right hand disappears behind his back, which is an area commonly known to carry concealed weapons. Point. Step back. Down on the ground. Down on the ground. Watch out. After the suspect falls to the ground, deputies quickly worked to gain control of his hands. After he was taken into custody, he was medically evaluated and cleared. During the investigation, he provided a breath sample, which showed his blood alcohol content at over three and a half times the legal limit. He was booked into jail for assault thirdderee hit and run property damage, DUI, operating a vehicle without an interlock device, and resisting arrest. His bond was set at $5,000.
