At the Moore Police Department, we believe that the cornerstone of being a good community partner is transparency and accountability. With that in mind, I will be briefing you on an officer involved shooting that occurred in the 300 block of North Butler Street in Moore, Oklahoma. Warning, the following video contains graphic content and viewer discretion is advised. My name is location of your emergency. I hit somebody at my house right now. What's your address? Butler Street. What's going on there? My son just freaked out and started stabbing my mom. All right. Is he still in the house? Yes. I don't know where he is. I locked myself in the bedroom. Morning. What's the location of your emergency? Um, my neighbors just came across the street. They both been stabbed. On Thursday, March 20th, 2025 at approximately 8:30 p.m., the Moore Police Department responded to the residence in the 300 block of North Butler Street, where we received reports of a stabbing incident involving two victims. The initial caller indicated that her son had stabbed her boyfriend and her mother and was still believed to be in the residence. Officers arrived on the scene to discover a bloodcovered front porch, door, and driveway accompanied by an audible disturbance coming from within the residence. Which one? There'll be a couple down here. the door. Hands up. Let me see your hands. Back up. Back up. Hands up. Let me see your hands. Hands up. Hands up. Hands up. Right now. Put your hands up. Drop it. Drop it. What about now? Drop it. Drop the Drop it. Drop it right now. Drop it. Upon approach of the residence, officers observed 19-year-old James Alexander Collier emerged from the residence with a large machete in his hands. Officers immediately observed the weapon and delivered multiple commands to Collier to drop the weapon. Officers began backing away from the residence, continuing to give in excess of 20 commands. Collier continued to advance toward officers with a machete held up over his shoulder with both hands in a threatening manner. Officers continued to retreat as Collier closed the distance. Shots were fired by both officers, striking Collier. Let's get a chest seal on this one. Hey bud, stay with us. Come on. Collier was detained by officers who administered emergency aid until emergency medical personnel arrived. The victims of the initial attack were located and transported to nearby hospitals for medical treatment along with Collier. Both victims had significant injuries and are expected to recover. Collier did not survive his injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital. The officers involved in this incident were not injured and were placed on administrative assignment. The investigation is still ongoing and will be provided to the Cleveland County District Attorney's Office for review. Following the criminal investigation, an internal review will be conducted by internal affairs. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all impacted by this event.
