Do you need police, fire, or medical? >> Um, I'm here at the [clears throat] the Greyhound station and I have a gun and I'm feeling feeling crazy in my backpack. >> Okay. What is your name? >> My name's Brad. >> All right. All right. And where are you in the station? You're outside the station? I'm outside the station. >> It's Doug. You said, >> huh? >> You said your name is Doug. >> Name is Brad. >> Bob. Okay. Bob, what's your last name? [clears throat] >> When the officers arrived, they were confronted by the man in the street. They directed him to show his hands. Hey. Hey. Get the hand. Get Get it out. >> Get it out. >> I have a gun. >> Get your hand out OF YOUR BAG. >> I HAVE A GUN. >> HEY, put the gun down, dude. >> Get your hand out of your backpack. >> Hey, put the gun down, dude. The officers called for an ambulance and rendered emergency medical aid. The man was transported to Vanderbilt where he died. He has been tenatively identified as a 30-year-old who arrived in Nashville by bus. No gun was found in his backpack. Officers Maxwell and Yazunza have been placed on routine administrative assignment while this investigation takes place. In the coming days, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and the Davidson County District Attorney's Office will continue to investigate and analyze this incident. By policy, the MNPD will also be conducting an administrative review of the interaction you have just seen to ensure that it meets the high standards expected of our officers. Thank you for watching this critical incident video.
