Come on, dude. We're letting you I got fries. Will we pay you? >> Stop screaming. I'm not messing around anymore, man. On July 6th, police were called to the North Wildwood Boardwalk in New Jersey after reports of a man grabbing a seagull and ripping its head off in front of bystanders. Officers arrive and speak with park staff to gather details. Guest killed this seagull. I'm going to go back there and check it out. They rent the cabana through the water park cuz our server got notified of it because they asked for a trash bag because the guy told her he killed this seagull and wanted a trash bag. Did he say what happened? Like why he did it? Or did he just do it when they were attacking him? But she she can probably give you more information. Um but he said the seagull was like trying to eat the fries. A head just doesn't come off of a seagull. Yes. And we all saw him drop it in the trash can. The seagull went straight up to the trash can and ate it, so. Seagulls are protected under federal law, making it illegal to harm or kill them without a permit. After finally apprehending the suspect, officers speak with park staff who witnessed the bird incident. My camera's on, by the way. getting them. Before the they Yeah, how long were you there for with them? They just arrived and they ordered like fries and two drinks. Okay. And the man was like he wants to rush the fries because his child was hungry. Okay. So when I come back with the drinks, the fries was already there and the seagull was dead. Okay. So what drinks did he order? Was it Was it alcohol, beer? >> Okay. They got They got there. They They sat down and asked for two beers and an order of fries. And he said, "Hey, can you hurry with the fries cuz my daughter's hungry." So the fries are there. So I guess a food runner would have brought the fries. And then you come back with the two drinks and after you come back the the seagull was dead. So did you physically You saw the seagull. Where was it at, the seagull? >> He hold it in his hand. He had it in his hand. Okay. And was it Did it have its head on it or was the head off of it? >> The head off. Where was the head at? He hold it in hand. In the other hand? Yeah, like all together. >> All together. But it was But the head wasn't attached anymore. Yeah. So where did he put Where did he put the seagull at? >> So he asked me for a trash bag when I come back. So I went for the managers. When you When you Did you go get him a trash bag? No, I just went for the managers. Oh, okay. You got the manager. And that was that the last time you saw saw the bird or was it Okay. >> time. Do you know who cleaned Who cleaned the Who took the bird or cleaned it up? Another staff member? >> Yeah. Okay. So he Did he say anything to you when he when he had the bird in his hand? Yeah, he just told me that no one wants to No one going to steal the fries from his child and he was like angry on that. His woman was recording that. Oh, really? She was recording you? Okay. Like not me, like the bird and Okay. the man. He said nobody will take the fries from his daughter. So that's That's he killed killed the bird. Okay. All right. So what did you have anything else that you can remember or want to tell me about that incident? I don't know. Just after that incident I stayed there and Did you continue to serve them when they stayed there? And how was he after that? I don't know. He looks like he's proud of that. Like he told me that I can say this story in Slovakia and he He wanted you to tell the story in Slovakia? >> Yes. And he just told me that he wants just drinks, not food because these are the seagulls there. If you could just take me from start to finish on everything that you saw, right? Start to finish was like a our server comes in and she's like, "Do you have a bag? My guest just killed the seagull." Would that be Simona? Yeah. >> Okay. And Jen and I were both in the office and we were like, "What are you talking about?" She's like, "No, he killed the seagull." And we were like, "Maybe maybe he injured the seagull. Like she doesn't know what she's talking about." >> Right. She was really I mean, she wasn't fazed by it either, which was kind of shocking to us. So, I went to the cabana uh to the cabana and Jen went to go get somebody from Island Services and somebody from Island Services was already there as well. And we just There's like the wicker garbage can. And so, I think the seagull was just on top of the wicker garbage can with like the head off. And um I was just like we obviously were all like in shock. I mean, we didn't even know like what to When the seagull was on the garbage, was on top of the garbage can, was it decapitated? Okay, where was the head at? It was right next to it. Okay. >> Yeah, yeah. Okay. Body and head both sitting on top of the garbage can. Okay. What happened was we were going to We were told don't touch it. Don't touch anything. Cuz at first I was going to assist in cleaning, but we were like, "No." We were told to um like Will and Park up like the people in Island Services said don't touch anything. So, I didn't touch anything and we stepped away and when I came back the seagull was gone. And somebody from our like the clean team they called the clean team, they cleaned the They assisted in throwing the seagull out. But then the gentleman came back into like when he came out of the lazy river, he's accusing me of taking pictures of his personal items. And I said, "Honestly, I mean, I have no idea what you're talking about." And he's like, "Don't play stupid with me. He's you know, cursing at me. And I'm like, you can look at my phone. He's like, don't I'm not an idiot. You didn't use that phone. So, I had no idea what he was talking about. I also don't care if he had two phones on him. So, Will kind of separated us cuz he was getting closer and closer to me. And Will like pushed me back. And then he you know, we started talking about the seagull. You know, he said like, oh you guys should have wire here. The seagull came in and was eating my fries. My daughter's fries. And you know, that was his excuse for you know, killing the seagull. The suspect pleaded guilty to third-degree animal cruelty, resisting arrest, and disorderly conduct. He was admitted to a recovery court in March of 2026, receiving 263 days credit for time served.
