You said Abby. You didn't say stop right away. No, I said Abby stop. And then that's when you took off. So then if that's your story, go ahead. Ain't nothing in there. just can we so if I cooperate can we not do another obstruction please like like if I cooperate can we not do that I don't want no recharging I just want at this point I just I hate her so bad what even happened to you I was just in there cooking dinner and she just came and started on me all she does is call me a piece of me worthless just remind me of my isn't very mentally exhausting. She continues to share the challenges she's faced, especially since moving back home and the emotional toll it's taken. Getting old. Like I'm tired of it. Like I moved back here to save up money because I've been living I've had my three-bedroom house for 3 years now. And like it just got tiring being a single mom having to pay all the bills and everything. Tired. So I moved back with my mom to save money. This be nothing but hell. I just been trying to get home. So, she's calling you. You're in there cooking. She calls you names. Yes. Obviously, she obviously sets you off. Okay. Just let me talk for a second. And from there, I was What does anything physically happen? Is she going to have any injuries? Is she going to tell me you hit or anything like that? Nothing like that. Okay. I just was banging on the door like, "Open the door and let me get my kid." She's like, "No, you're not taking it nowhere." And I said, "I have custody of my kid. like you can't tell me what I can and cannot do with my kid like at all. And then that's she when she's like if you try taking them I'm going to call the police. And so that's when she called y'all. Okay. Why did you decide you want to take off? Because she's so annoying. I'm just sick of this. Like I hate her. Like I hate her. And I'm not going to lie. Like I have a warrant in Barber right now. Just um we we were notified of that. I'm sure you were like Well, no. dispatch found you. We obviously know who you are. And like I've been I was going to go I'm been saying what do you have a warrant for in Barbara? Um because I was in the hospital. I went into psych at Sunrise Vista in Canton and I was supposed to have court and I went in there like I didn't know I had court cuz it was like so soon and I didn't see the court. I didn't get the paper in the mail yet. Okay. So when I went in there I guess I had court and I have a doctrinal dispute and everything like from me missing court and everything. Okay. What's the charge in relation to? Um well well so when I I had an OBI and then they told me they when they sentenced me they told me like if you catch any like just don't catch any charges in the next two years. I was like okay like I didn't know that means I was on probation or anything. Her story unfolds further as she talks about struggling with probation, juggling court dates and even spending time in a psychiatric facility. if you Yeah. If you catch any charges, you'll be in trouble. I didn't know that. And so I caught disorderly conduct because the person that was living with me put her hands on me and like and so I called the police and then they came and I was recording them and stuff because they were like she was like trying to make it seem like it was my fault. So I was recording so they took me into jail for I think disorderly conduct. And yeah, I think that's it. And then that was I guess a probation violation. I didn't even know I was on probation. They told me not to get in trouble for two years. And then Yeah. All right. You want to take that? You can take her and I'll take this back to Moments later, officers speak with a mother to hear her side of the story. Hi. Hello. You can come in. All right. He was arrested on a warrant and obstructing because she ran from us. But I want to come over and find out what was going on originally brought us here. Yeah. So they Okay, now he's scared. It's okay. He's not going to hurt you, baby. He's okay. Say hi. Say hi. Give him Knuckles. Give him five. Can you give him five? He's a good guy. I'll tell you. So, she moved in here because she lost her place up there and um she's been driving without a license for like a long time and she bullies me and takes my car. So, I said I'm not paying for it anymore. So, I had it repossessed. I'm just like, I'm just done. So, I told her nicely said they're coming to get the car tonight and um we'll just figure something else out. and she just and was like, I have all these messages saying she's gonna beat my and she helps my like I've done nothing but help her her whole entire life and I'm tired of it, you know. So, I've been trying to protect him and try to keep the peace. She just does whatever she wants to do and I Is that the keys that were in one of the bags? Were they to the car? I don't know. Did you find anything else in them bags? No. That's a shocker. She takes off. The guy was coming. She takes off, drives, leaves, says she's leaving. And um I said, "Just come back. Like there's a simple solution to this, you know, like I can't pay for the car. You can't pay for I bought the car for her." Okay. Like when she had a license and then she got a DUI like her second one. I can't pay for the car, you know, and I can't pay for I have two cars. I have my own car and then I had another car. And um so I just said I'm going to return it. And she just went crazy. Like, so what do you mean she went crazy? Like just started yelling or did they become physical? Well, she left. She just took off cuz she's like, "I'm taking the car. They're not going to get it." Her emotions build as she recounts the incident, heartbroken and deeply disappointed by her daughter's actions. And then it was all texting stuff, you know, like and then she I said, "Just bring the car back." You know, he was here waiting. So, she was coming back to get him to leave. You know, she's like, "Well, I already called my case cuz we have an open I called children services on her several months ago because of her drinking." So, she left for the car originally and then came back. So, she left. So, then she came back. I had the door lock cuz she doesn't have keys. And then she was kicking it in. And then I let her in and she got my phone cuz I was talking to the cops because I knew if she come in, she was going to punch me and I didn't want him to see all that. So, I just let her in. And then she took my phone and threw it out in the yard. And then she grabbed him and went in her bedroom and packed up some stuff and they went out the front door. and I was out there gathering up the stuff that was laying in the yard. Okay. And um I was just kind of watching where she was going cuz she has friends down the road and I didn't want her to go in there and hide, you know? I was just watching her and then I saw you guys coming so I went to get him and I don't know why all of this is like this because was nothing, you know, like there was nothing. And I don't want him to get taken from us from her. Well, I don't care about her. Like I'm done with her. Like So I mean like I have messages where she's threatening me. So the things that she's that the things that she's saying in there. Do you want to pursue criminal charges for menacing? I mean she lives here so domestic. I just say to keep more charges on her, but then it's just she's going to come back here and just keep doing that. So when she left with the car the first time, she was sending text messages. Is that right? Well, she was like, "Do you want me to go through the whole thing?" Or how long has this been going on for today? I got home at like 5:30 cuz the guy was coming at 6:00. Okay. So, um, did he just leave with the car? I saw a tow truck leaving with the car. Okay. He was waiting here cuz I fig she was like, "God, I hate yours. I wish you would just already get my son dressed so we're leaving." I said, "No, you're not." Yes, I am. I promise you. I said I said, "We can go get my aunt's car and I can drive that for a while." She also reveals threatening text messages sent by her daughter and reads them aloud to the officers as part of the report. I said, "Bring the car here now. I'm going to call the police. I'll beat you." I said, "I'm not doing this to hurt you, Abby. I don't understand why you can't we can't I cannot pay for the car. I can't have we can't have a car if we don't pay for it. That's stealing." Like, that's what I'm trying to get into her head. Not thing is you pay me She paid me $700 at the beginning of the month. I had to move her home, run a U-Haul, all this other stuff. Okay. And then she's like, "I'm literally going to beat the flint out of you. I'm going to you up. If I come back there without auntie's car right now, I'm going to up. I literally will beat the brakes off of you. I'm about to you up. I'm I'm out. I'm leaving town. Is that something that's common for her to do to say? Yeah, but I'm asking you. Yeah. I mean that she tells me that every day, right? Come here. I mean, so I mean I don't know. Could I just think about it for tonight? There'll be a report already made though. just say no. It just depend on what we do with it. So, you can give us a call. I'm here till 6:00 in the morning and we can figure out what we're going to do with it. Okay. Thank you. All right. In the end, the daughter is charged with obstruction and menacing. Number four, child left in hot car while mom allegedly shows up drunk at school. Police are called to an elementary school after staff notice a woman stumbling and appearing intoxicated. Officers arrived to find Morgan, a 33-year-old woman showing clear signs of being under the influence. Hi. Hey. I was just going to have somebody come pick her up or her child, but once I seen her fall and um this huge falling. Hey, relax. Take a deep breath. Just relax. Do you know what city we're in? New York. Is that your Is that your actual answer? No, I'm just kidding. Okay. I just Look, these are legal questions. I don't I'm not here to bother you. If you'd like me to leave, you answer these questions and I will leave. I'm just I just got to ask these questions. Okay. I'm in Canada. Okay. Wonderful. Do you know who the president is? Uh, I'm not sure, but it sounds like a Oh my god. So, someone fell. Is it bad? We don't know. I'm not your knee. I mean, it looks pretty bad. No. You want to tell us where your phone is in the car so we can call a number? E, why would I tell you? because you're not going anywhere near the car because you're under the influence. So, you can either give us and let us go get your phone or you can go to jail cuz right now you're under the influence on a school and clearly you drove to get here, which you probably should not have been doing. So, we're trying to be nice to you. We're trying to give you a break and get you a ride, but it's either this or that. That. So, what's in your car that you don't want us to see? Oh my god, nothing. Okay, so let me go get your phone so we can call somebody to come pick you and your kid up. Um, do you like kids? Officers quickly realized she drove to the school in the state, which is especially concerning because her child is still in the car. Actually, I I kind of do. Oh, wow. Now, which car is hers? What is it? It's a great one. Is it unlocked? Your kids in the car? Yeah. [Music] You want to come check the baby since you're here? Yeah. There's a baby. Hi. Hey. You okay? Hi, sweetie. Hey honey, do you know where your mommy's phone is? Do you know where your mom's phone is? Where is it? You don't know. I don't see a phone. No, but we definitely I'm not letting her drive. I don't know where it's at. She have emergency contact. She's about to get March naps. All we doing is figure it out. You better sit down now. Sit down. Give me my All right. So now you're going to get out of control. Where is my kid? You know, I don't care. Where is the kid? Turn around. Stand up. We're going to just put her on a remote for Okay. Can you tell me where my kid is? Yep. I have him. Don't worry. Give me Where? Who? Him. Give me your arm. Is it a boy? Okay. You going to get paid? It's a recording. You about to get paid. Hold on. Can you hear me? You do it the easy way or do it the hard way. So, listen. Why? The officers calmly try to get Morgan to cooperate, asking for her phone so they can contact someone to take care of the kids. Oh my god. Oal is disgusting. E why sit down? I'm sitting literally have been so I can lock them so they don't literally have been sitting. What is your issue? No. Uh emergency contact person. Who's the Who's the closest family to here that we can call and have come get your baby? Why? Because right now you're being placed under Marchment Act. Why? Because you are intoxicated literally at a school. You're to the point where you're so drunk you're not understanding what we're trying to do. Oh, I understand everything, but your language. So, listen to what I'm saying. Who do you want to come get the baby? Do you have a mom? A mom. Do you have a mom? No. Okay. So, do you have a sister? No. Do you have a family member that can come and get this baby? No. Okay. Where's the baby's father? No, in Massachusetts. No. It must be nice to be now. Does this baby go to this school or you have another kid here that goes to school? Does she go to school here? She's two. So, you have another child that goes to school here. Obviously, that's why you're here, right? responded from the back. Who does a school call when they can't get a hold of you? No one. Imagine that. do it on the bus. Morgan is confused, defensive, and becomes verbally aggressive. She offers no emergency contacts, no relatives nearby, and says the father is out of state. What's the number? I don't know. Your phone is not in the car. I can't do anything when I'm on cops. Ma'am, your phone is not in the car. It probably is. I'm telling you, there is no What's your number? I'll call it. What's your What's your phone number? What is the phone number to your phone so we can try to locate your phone? I don't know. You don't know your own phone number? I know it. Okay. What is it? Oh, she won't give me the number. I will. Okay. What's the phone number? Let me go get my phone. No, you're not going to the car. You're under a marchman act. Ambulance is coming. going to take you to the hospital for what? Because you're under a marchman act. You're drunk. I'm not going to hospital. Yes, you are. For what? Oh, you make because you're more money. Because you're intoxicated and you're so intoxicated, you're not thinking right now. Okay. So, what is your telephone number to your phone? You know what? I can't afford this. So, does your phone work? I don't know. No, I don't have it. So, where is your phone? Why would you do that to someone I don't What is your phone number? What is your phone number? Well, you don't have the money to go to jail either. So, that's where we're at right now. Oh, your phone. What is your phone number? It sounds like 0800. Okay. What is your phone number so we can find your phone? It doesn't matter at this point, right? Well, it does because you still have two kids. So, they can either go into child protective services. That's the only or we can have somebody come get them from school. Oh my god. The only place they're going is CPS and you're and I hate it. All right, that's fine. Despite officer's efforts to reason with her, she continues to argue and refuses to assist in contacting anyone who could safely take her children. Oh yeah. So, what is your phone number? I hope you sleep at night. Okay. What is your phone number? USA. Okay. What is your real phone number? What is your kids? They've been dramatized. Their dad left them. It It must be happy to smile. What? What are you? 40, 50. Oh, no. I'm You're good. I'm close. Yeah, I am close. What's your name? Why? She has her ID. Where's your area code? Huh? You really tried. You really tried. Thank you. Oh, you tried. Yes. We just want to find your phone so your kids have someone. Who's talking? My kids. Then why don't we get some help for them? There's no help when you send that to Let's not do that. What? What's the option? So, we are trying to find your phone so we can contact someone so they can come pick them up for you. Let me go there. I don't know. I don't know. The flight officers have told you multiple times. I don't know. You can walk me with my You don't remember your phone number? I do, but I don't trust this. So, give it to him. I will call it so I can locate it. How about that? No. I You walk with me. I don't care if I my If she falls again, then it's on us. I don't I did. Yes, you fell. Yes, you did fall. I don't care. I just He went and looked for your phone. We couldn't find your phone. That's why we're asking for your phone number so we can hear it ring. That's not going to do anything. They attempt to get through to her, but she's clearly too out of it to respond rationally. We are really trying to do the right thing for your kids. However, you are not. Oh, I'm not. You are 100% not. Why? Because what? I don't want them going into DCF. Then give us your phone number and that will stop that from happening. Which part is me doing wrong? I'm going to explain it one more time. I get it. We would like to find your phone so we can call someone to pick them up. They're really trying to help your kids out. [Music] Sit down. Have you done anything else besides? No, I've never done that. That's what's pissing me off. I've never And you can test it. I don't care. Come on. Stop touching me. I want to this point. Can you just have her? You're in custody now. I don't care. Have to touch. I'm at sit down. Stop talking. You're about to go to jail now. Stop it. I understand you're intoxicated, but stop. Let me go to jail. Let go. March at the jail cuz now she's got a battery on Leo. Oh, cool. Cool. It sounds she can be medically cleared. Is she that bad? Yeah. Oh, I'm sorry. Well, it sounds like anyone can do that. It sounds like anyone can do that. I don't know if the jail's going to take her like this without being medically clear. No. Yeah. What's your name? What's your name? I already told you my name. Get the camera. As the situation escalates, police call for an ambulance to transport her to the hospital for a full evaluation. I don't care. Even in the hospital, I've not been hostile. I'm not a hostile person. I am upset that I don't have my kids cuz that's all I am as a mom. Please don't do this to me. Please. I can do anything. No. Uh, a little bit. Whatever you want. Whoever you feel that you need to blame to make yourself feel better. You know what? When you're a mom, I can't wait. Yes, it was all my fault. No, I didn't say it was all your fault. It's all my fault. That's fine. That's not what I said. I'm fully to blame for my part in this, but please, I just want to go see my kids. I want to hold them until they're okay. Right now, obviously not right now. Uhuh. Yeah. Go back up against the wall, hun. I'm I'm telling you they do not plan here. What are they gonna do? Chase me? They might. I don't I don't know what they do there. Oh my god. It's a party. [Applause] [Applause] Take that right now. Apparently, I'm terrible. No, you don't. You don't got to be terrible. What? You don't got to be terrible. No. No. Just got to have bad eyebrows. [Applause] Back at the station, officers continue to struggle with her erratic behavior as she refuses to cooperate. Let go. That's why she's got the leg. Then when we got to the hospital that way, [Applause] please let go of my arms. Please let go of my arms. Please. So everything's stationary right now cuz they're trying to get the blood results because she was not cooperative at the hospital. So they discharged her. Um, so you can just go. I'll be here for a little bit. I know. Please. [Applause] Yeah. Just around. Can I just sit? I don't care if this I never sit on. Okay. Well, I appreciate that. I don't care. treatment. Babe, they did get some blood. They did get blood. They did, but if she refused the treatment, they're not going to process it. For blood. I was just there. Then you need to cooperate and let them do what they need to do over there. So you can come back. Hey, knock it off now. Or what? I die or go to jail. Stop now. That's not even okay. Why? Because it's not. For what? Why do you think you're here right now? Stop. What difference does it make? And just start acting right. Baking your head on my car is not acting right. So, who cares? Okay. Well, guess what? They'll take care of that here. So, they're going to have to wrap her while we're sitting here waiting. What are you doing, ma'am? Huh? Are you going to calm down? Can I leave? No. Her lack of compliance causes further delays in the booking process. I'll go back in there. I don't want She can't go back in because they didn't because she refused at the hospital. So, they won't take her because we don't have some They didn't do her blood work. I don't want to call my kids. That's all I want. I don't wish you would have did that. That's all I want. Listen, listen, listen, listen. That's all I want. We're not even Do not let her out of that car. We're going to have to calm down. I don't care. Why is she being so insensitive? What? I put my leg up at her and now she wants to arrest me. Oh my god. Stop. Listen. You have to go to the hospital. I went to the hospital. It's going to be a bitch's life cuz I'm going to take her back to hospital. She's going to refuse and I'm going end up back here and they're not going to take her. They do your paperwork this year. They did, but um apparently the piece of paper they sent me on the back part doesn't have anything on it. is blank. Okay. So, somebody's at the hospital now trying In the end, Morgan is charged with battery on a law enforcement officer. The court places her on 36 months of probation, finds her over $11,000, and assigns 80 hours of community service. Number three, officers save child from water while mother parties at the bar. Police respond to a call about two young children, ages 5 and seven, found alone at the beach. A bystander notices one of them, a young girl, struggling in the water without any flotation device. Officers arrive quickly and begin searching for the children's parent. You have another son with you? Yeah. How old is he? He's fine. All right, go to the beach and look for him. What's he wearing? What's he wearing? What's he wearing? Hold on. Hold on. What's he wearing? That's what I'm saying. [Music] So, what's next? I don't know. Let's see. She said she's there with him, but I'm like, how are you not holding your child, you know? [Music] She's drunk. Drunk or something else? I don't see well. Yeah. What do you say? Who's that? landing location. So, we need to find out. Where's that girl, though? 1803. Did you guys get my nephew from the band? I don't know where your nephew is. Do we know who Who's your nephew? Who where's the nephew's dad? Uh, mom and dad. Mom is here. No, mom. That's your brother. Okay. So, we're missing another kid. Yeah. He was here. [Music] Him or her? Oh, okay. I just had to find who was the lady that [Music] they eventually locate the mother drinking at a bar near the beach. Ma'am, get up first. Come over to our car. Do we come with her? Um, stay here. Walk with the officer. She right behind you. with Listen, we're like five adults here with two of my kids. I just came to take him to the beach. I understand, but when you're questioning why somebody else is holding your daughter, that means that you should have been there. But literally, we were all paying attention to like I was literally just leaving. How could everybody be paying attention if an honest citizen that don't even know what's going on right now? Like I don't understand which way I'm related. Drowned and died in the beach with a 5-year-old brother, right? What is going on? Okay. You left your daughter in the beach with a sibling that's 5 years old. I was literally watching that. She was drowning. Someone had to take her out of the water cuz she almost drowned and died. Do you understand that? Listen, I'm a good mom. We're not saying you're not a good mom. It's going to be from 41 to 14. I'm not saying you're a bad mom. I'm not saying that you're not a bad mom. I never said that. You stepped away from them. I for like 5 minutes. You left them with a 5-year-old and she ended up drowning that someone had to go into the water cuz she went too deep and she was taken in water and she almost drowned and people in the beaches had to step in and get her out from the water cuz she almost died. Do you understand where we're at right now? Where were you at that point? Mom, I'm not saying I was literally right there. I've been checking on her every 5 minutes. I brought a blanket. I brought water. I brought Coke. I brought everything for them to be comfortable for today. Literally last night was my birthday. Today I'm like, "Okay, I'm going to obsess with my kids. I've been with them all day." Like, if that happened for like a second, I'm so You know, like if that person didn't step, I'm not a bad mom. I don't know what to tell you. Never said that you're a bad mom, but what I'm saying is it's already what occurred. You stepped away. She almost died. I don't understand. She's emotional, insisting she's a good mom and was only trying to give her kids a nice day out for her birthday. Her friends back her up, jumping to her defense, for a second. I understand that. So, she was at my bar and she had the kids. And the truth is when my friend got drunk, I think she thought the men were looking after the babies. She literally has had them the whole time. And I if she wasn't if she was a I would have said so. I'm a foster parent. I f I fought she through citrus. I'm adopted. I'm very big on kids. She has had them the whole time. And so when her friend was stumbling drug, these are her friend shoes. I think it's her shoes. She took it to the bathroom because she's like she's throwing up, you know. So that's I don't want you to believe that she just she wasn't just not being a mom. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. So, where's the friend at now? Or did she leave somebody else in charge? So, she so she so she went to go Oh god, I want to cry. She went to go she went to go to take her to the bathroom. She's here with her brother and her friends. I I I think they assume that the brother and the friend were going to be watching while they were in the in the women's room cuz she literally just went. She was not She's literally been there the whole time and the kids were with her. I'm not trying to be funny, but they really were. So, I I She wasn't not being a good mom. Okay, I'll pass that on to my partner. Okay, hold on. Hold on. Somebody found her daughter. I understand that. All right. Somebody found her daughter in the water drowning. Some citizen little girl saw the baby drowning. Yeah. The baby's out. Yeah. She's wondering why somebody else is holding her daughter and you're trying to tell her you were not there for her. That's why another citizen is a bartender, a waitress, is holding your child. Why doesn't she know that a citizen is not holding her child? Yeah. Can I talk to her? Just give me one second. But I came to tell them that you guys sent your friend to the bathroom. And in that moment, that's all it was. Like it wasn't she was in charge at that time. Look, I went with her friend and she was concerned like she If you just Where's her daughter? Can I make sure she's okay? Yeah, she's with Sergeant Benedetta. He's over there underneath your Yeah, you can go over there. As officers begin questioning her, the mother grows emotional. She tries to justify her actions, but officers point out a key issue. When it mattered most, no one was clearly responsible for the children. Stay here. Okay, calm down. Who's your friend here? The She showed me a badge. Who does she work for? This is my friend. She comes from Texas. She became a cop. My other friend is here from like Tallahassee. It's a big birthday. Uh-huh. I just brought my She's a cop in Texas. Yeah. She just I just brought my kids here to have a good time. I'm not drunk. I'm not anything. If I lost sight of her for a second, then it was a second. It had something to do with But when you walked your friend, you walked your friend to the bathroom. No, I never went to the bathroom. I was here. I was watching the whole time. I don't even know when the happened. Like I Well, little kids, it happens quick. No, I know. I know. But I brought a blanket. I brought drinks. I brought water. Like this was our day. I don't know why I'm even here. Like I didn't even know that was happening. I'm a good mom. Like I've never had a felony. I've never done I've never done anything. Like I don't even know why I'm here. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. You know what I mean? And I respect you 100%. I respect your job and everything. I understand. We're trying to match up why a citizen found your daughter in the water. That's what I'm saying. Not her own family. No, no, no. We were here at the bar and I brought them and I put sunscreen on them and everything and I was watching them and then she came to me because my kid didn't want to like share toys with her kid or something like that and I'm like listen I brought enough I brought enough toys for them to play together you know and she's like oh okay then it's fine like whatever my kid will share you get me and I'm like okay and I was watching them the whole time I really don't know why I'm here. Like I I I I'm like flabbergasted right here. We were literally leaving right now. Like we were literally leaving right now. I don't They remind her that regardless of her intentions, the situation was serious and could have ended much worse. And she was really nice. She was like, "Okay, my my kid will play with your kids." because my kid was um frustrated because her kid didn't want to like share or whatever. Whatever. They're five, you know, and I'm like, "Okay, whatever. Listen, just share with my kid. Whatever." I had a drink. I was paying attention to them. I looked every 5 seconds. They were fine. I don't know why I'm here. Like, I don't know why I'm here. Like, they were fine. I just tried to have a Sunday with my kids. No, we understand that. But with kids and stuff, you turn your your your second eye. I have a 5-year-old daughter. I understand that. I understand that. I understand that completely. But I looked every second. I'm a single mom. There's no reason for me not to. Other gentleman, husband, boyfriend, whatever he is. I don't know who he is. Wait, who? No. With you in your group? That's my brother. Your brother? Okay. Was he in charge of the kids or No, no, no. We were all together. for me, him, my best friends, they came out of town for my birthday, we were all looking out for them. There's no reason for us not to look out for them. If the other lady was complaining that, "Hey, that's on her." I don't know. I brought toys for them. I brought water. You can check my bag. I brought sodas. I'm a good mom. I don't understand. Yeah, I don't understand. Maybe. Hey, for one that one second, maybe something happened. I don't know. But everything was under control. We were there. We would literally sat in that place to literally focus on them. Like we didn't, you know, we don't even drink like that. We don't drink. Like I don't know what's happened. And I don't appreciate that girl like talking to me like if I'm nothing. Well, you should have approached her and asked what's wrong or I don't understand. We were cool. That's what we were working on. Cool. And she's coming at me like I'm a piece of She insists she was only gone for a minute and claims she was watching the kids with help from her friends. It's my birthday. It's Sunday. They have school tomorrow. Like I didn't come for them to get hurt. Like why is she acting like I'm a bad parent? I'm a great parent. You can ask any anybody. I'm a great parent. My life is those kids. I don't go out. I don't I don't have help. It's just me. I can't live without those kids. Like, [ __ ] if it happened for a second, it happened for a second. I'm so sorry. I'm a human being. You know what I mean? I don't. Yeah. I don't I don't speak Spanish, but Okay. Okay. I ask that you speak Spanish. Yeah. Just speak with her real quick. [Music] Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Just get her name. Get her name and a phone number for her. Where's Willie? Willy's uh either in the bathroom or in the back beach. Let me hold. Okay. Just just chill. Chill. No, no, no. The more you argue, the more you're going to be [ __ ] She's acting like she's a superhero. Yeah. Yeah. This can happen to anybody. I understand. You understand? I give my life for these kids. I don't have any help. My baby daddy's a firefighter. He hasn't been for there for me. I do it all by myself. I'm struggling. I came here to have a good time because I went to the store to buy them toys to have them have a good time. You get me? My friends are here from the town. I I don't have friends. I work from home. You get me what I mean? Yeah. Yeah. Like for them to come is a big deal. For this acting like she's a brand is crazy to me. They're not they're not being I understand. I understand. I understand. But it was a psychic. I think he's in the woman's room or ask um Carlos right here in the blue shirt. She denies being intoxicated and claims it was just a moment of inattention. And I understand that. But it wasn't like I wasn't paying attention. I literally picked that spot to pay attention to them. I brought blankets. I brought everything. You can check my bag. All right. All right. All right. If it was 1 second, then it was 1 second. And I will never regret that. But I understand where she's coming from as like a pedestrian or whatever. And I appreciate her for saving my daughter, but it was one. All right, let us work this all out. All right, have a seat here. Just sit down here. No, it's not okay because these are my kids, bro. I'm not a I don't drop I'm a I don't have a record. I do what I can for these kids. My baby that wouldn't help me. You know what I mean? I do what I can can. It was one second. If she complains about it, then bro, I thank her. She's not complaining about it. She's not complaining about it. She's just telling us who who was there for your daughter, you know. And I literally she could see me if there was cameras. I was setting them up. I put the blanket. I told them like, "Hey, I brought you toys. Just sit here." I'm right. All right. All right. You're getting worked up. Just sit down. Take a break. Yeah. Take a break. I'm not a Those cards. Those cards. I'm telling you, I'm not a I'm I'm not a bad mom. My No. Oh, is that the drunk girl in the bathroom? I've never been to the bathroom. The bartender said they walked a girl to the bathroom. That mean I don't know. That's not me. That's not me. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. The bartender said you were with a group and then a group of girls walked a intoxicated girl to the bathroom. No. No. No. I've never been to the bathroom. But the bartender said you were part of the group. No. I've been with him the whole time. That's what he's saying. He's saying, "Bro, his name is Courtney. I told him, hey, if you want to hang out, but no matter how much he tries to explain it away, the reality remains. If the bystander hadn't stepped in, this could have ended in tragedy. I'm not intoxicating. I'm not saying you are, ma'am. I'm just We got to Listen to me. We got to work this our angles. Your angle, the bartender, the lady. I would never drink this much if I'm with my kids. I'm with her mother. I'm with my best friend. I would never. We're not I'm with my brother. I'm with my brother's best friend. There were just five adults available. There's no reason for this to happen. If this happened for a second, that happens for a second. But we were there. My brother, we literally picked that spot to spot them. You get me? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. It It's not anything crazy. The deputy just checked it. There's nothing in there. Do not go in the bathroom. Enjoy the rest of the thing. If you continue, he's going to trespass. You're going to go to jail. I want to kneel down to you because you don't need to kneel down to me, man. I respect I appreciate, but you don't need to kneel down my license because my life the deputy check the bathroom. She does not have nothing in the bathroom. Find her purse back. Find her purse. He just pat her down. Find the purse and card in there. Right. Do not go in the bathroom. He's going to trespass you. I respect you. All right. I appreciate I don't do that. It's fine. I got something else to handle. I don't know. I do not want to take you to jail. Go over there where purses. Check her purse. All right. Hey, if you go back, you're going to go to jail, man. Stand up for me. You back, right? Why am I getting a Why am I getting a good luck, man? What? I was trying to look for what? I got my kiss. What are you talking about? Understand you love your kids. Accidents happen. All right. If it wasn't for that bystander, we'll be doing a death investigation. What are you talking about? Going this way. It's my birthday and I came to take my kids to the beach like it was a second one. What started as a relaxing beach outing quickly becomes a painful reminder of how fast things can spiral when children are left unsupervised even briefly. Watch your foot. You know I'm watching her, man. Sorry. No, no, I'm watching. It's a cluster. Lower your window. back. You have a extra key on you. Pardon me. The charge will be child neglect is I believe what deputies said. Huh? Why? They'll explain it to you in a minute. I'm a good mom. You guys are just putting someone in the system for no reason. My kids are good. I take care of them by myself. Their dad isn't even in the picture like that. I love my kids. What we're saying, you know, you one It was one second. I'm not even for anything. Please. I'm the only thing they have. Okay. Please get Melissa here. Who? My my my friend. My best friend. Please listen to me. I'm not lying to you. I'm a good mom. I just came to have a good time with my kids on the Sunday. I don't get them as often, but I'm not supposed to be here. I'm a good mom. I'm a little hurry. Good. You can I just tell her something? Go ahead. Please, Melissa. Listen to me. Listen to me. Just stay back for Okay. Okay. Listen. No, don't talk. Okay. I'm not talking, but I got you anything. Melissa, just calm down. Okay. Oh my good. I know who you are in this car right now. Melissa, I'm not going to help. I'm going to go up. She did this to her brother. I tried to give her a chance and she doesn't want to listen. This is a second chance I'm giving her. Calm down. money. I bought toys for hype. Stop. Under the law, leaving young children alone in a public setting, especially near water, qualifies as child neglect. I'm a I got you. I got you. I got you. I lost track of the first, Melissa. We sat there for a reason, bro. We sat there for a reason. But look at me. Look at me. Look at me. Focus. Focus. Focusing the back of this car. Look at my nose. Look at my eyes. Stop. I understand. My kids. We got you. We're here. We're here. My kids. Your brother's got them. I explained that to her. Your brothers. Have a record. My little You're good. She works in the bathroom as well. She says that the one that they took in the ambulance, too. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, we know that. Thank you. You know your friend went to the ambulance, right? The other girl. Yes, that's her friend. Her friend. Yes. Okay. They already took her. Yeah, it's a good uh Mariners Hospital. Tabin Mariners. Okay. Yeah, cuz her her family is like in Tallahassee. She just came down for her birthday. I live in Texas now. And the brother had another friend that walked away down the parking lot and we don't know where he is. I don't know about him, right? I'm her daughter's god mother. Okay, I know this doesn't relate to you, but she's literally their provider. This was a one time incident. I got them. We got them. My mom's there. We're good. You just need to relax. Trust me. Trust me. I didn't I know you need to calm down. Listen. Look at me. I'm in. Stop. I'm in class. Stop. Yan. Do me a favor. Just walk away for me. Please. I'm going to roll out the window. I respect you. All right. Thank you. I'm a pro officer. I respect you. Okay. In the end, her actions caught up with her. She's arrested and charged with child neglect without bodily harm. She's released on a $2,500 bond later that day. Number two, child left home alone ends up on highway, rescued just in time. A driver in Palm Beach County sees something unusual. A small child running alone near a busy road. She immediately pulls over, turns on her hazard lights, and safely gets the child into her car. The child appears to be around 3 years old and struggles to speak clearly. The driver stays with her and quickly calls the police. So, what happened? I you know I my I'm living in red red bank and and I'm in a corner and the baby run run run run run run run run run run run run run run run run run run run run run run run run run run run run run run run run run run run run run run run run run run run run run run run run run run run run run run run run run run run run run run run run run run run run run run run run run run run run run run run run run ran across the street that's my look look at me so I said that very that baby crossing there so I throw my car in the eye and stop my car and cook you saw her across the street yeah I I I'm in you're not in trouble and I call her I understand how long have you been here no one's no I'm in here. Immediately I call the police. Yeah. Maybe how long you take for coming? Okay. Hi little girl. What's your name? I open. Does she speak English? Does she talk at all? We try. Do you speak Do you speak Spanish? Mommy. Mommy. Mommy. What did you Mommy? What is your mom? What is your mom? Mommy, don't talk to mama. Don't mama. I speak in English. Mommy. Nana. What is your mom? Do you want to go out? Do you want to go home? Mommy, you want to go home? Yes. He's my friend. He's my friend. He's my friend. I got to take a photo of him cuz we're going to have to wait. Where did you exactly? Sir, cross here. This road. No, exactly as you traffic. I turn the light right when I turn make a left. I'm sorry. When I make a left intersection. No. When I make a leg exactly when that car I saw I beginning saw that girl walking walking and running and running and running. Yes. Yes. Yes. In that way. And she right there. And I say, and you say, "Nobody, nobody, nobody." And I said, "I right away park my car before I'm in here pretend to protest." I yelling, "Baby, baby, when did you when did you grab her? Was she more?" As officers arrive, they work to piece together what happened and figure out the best way to safely get the child back home. More than there, I catch it. So I bring and she come with me and I put in a car. saw walking down by herself. Once she pulled a left onto the road, she saw the 2-year-old walking by herself down the street. And then she she thought it was weird. She had passed it. She kept an eye on her, and then she started seeing her bolts across the street. So, she parked really quick, got out of her car, chased the girl down, and said, "No, get out of the street. No, no, no, no." And she grabbed her grabbed her. She said at that next intersection right there, we'd have to be there one up here. This the next Yeah, the next street. I guess from where that truck is cuz Yeah, she's all over the place. And I'm going to take a photo of her and put it in the call. Yeah. Um it's I don't She She's not talking. She's nonverbal. No, she's nonverbal. No, I wave. She's No, she tried Spanish, too. Does she speak Spanish? Does she speak Spanish? No. Do you want to do you want mom? Yes. You want to go home? You want to go home? All the time. All the time. Nothing whatsoever. Take a photo. Take a picture. Mom. Smile. Smile. Cheese. Cheese. Oh, sweetheart. One more. I appreciate you stopping and doing what she did, okay? To make sure she's okay. So, we're she wanted to keep running. Which one is she point? Is she pointing? You know where you know where you live? Wait, where you from? Here, hold. As officers walk with the child, she leads them to a house they suspect might be her home. Yeah. Hold her hand. You live here? That's where you live. You know that. Hey, come here. Come here. This little girl here. Not here. Have you seen her before? All right. Show me, baby. Show me. Where is This is the back doors though, right? Yeah. Oh, the back door. It's a bicycle. [Music] Bunch of bunch of kids. Yeah. Be careful, baby. Be careful. Come on. Come on. I won't fix the mark. Yeah, this one. Is that your back? The front door is open. Go around the front door. The front door's open. Dana. Dana. Find her outside. The front door is open. The front door is open up here, right? Yeah. Front door's open. Come here. And we maybe Come on, baby. Come on. You know the address is here. You know who lives there? Can you watch it for a second? The front door is open over here. The front door is open and as they call out inside, it becomes clear a child lives there. A neighbor tells police this isn't the first time the kids have been heard alone in the house. Okay. Come here, baby. All right. Can you uh neighbor? It's your neighbor's girl. Yeah, we're looking for found. She This lady found her 116. No, sir. That's why we were knocking. We didn't know she was knocking. This was the door she walked up to. Hello. Sheriff's office. I got a feeling she leave here. leads her here. County Sheriff's Office. 1219. I know. I got nothing to say. 121952. Where's mommy? Where's mommy? Does she Is she non-speaking? No, she speaks. She does speak. Yeah, but I know the parents are Spanish, so But she still should speak English, I'm sure. But I I had a funny feeling she's been leaving here and leaving that kid by herself. Okay. Does she work? Did you say apartment too? Okay. Is this your room? Hey, she grabbed your milk right away. Yeah, this is her house. This door was open. It was open. Yeah. And those chairs were like against the door. So, I don't know if she climbed on the chair to do the She climbed on the chair probably to do this. Did you get the complainant's name and all the information you need for the report? No, I need to grab I'll get it for you. The the guy on the the thing, it looks like she You say it looks like she leaves her here alone like this. Well, I've been here before and I'm not going to stand and swear to it, but I I know that uh her car is gone. She drives. She has a car. She has a car and she'll And I hear that when I'm my office next door, I can hear the kids in there. She's There's more than one kid though. The other one the boy goes to school. He adds that the mother often leaves them unsupervised and has noticed her car missing on several occasions. She does not work. Oh, so is this so she's either sometimes she goes out and jogs but usually her car is here. So she usually stays home she's normally here but when she leaves a lot I'm not going to swear to it but I think she leaves the kids here once she heads off. Hey hey let's go watch some TV. Yeah. So it looks like she put the Thank you, sir. It looks like she put the chair to the door. Uhhuh. and then uh unbolted everything and left. Thank you so much for calling. Thank you for We're going to do everything that needs to be done now from here on out. Okay. Yeah, like I said, the easy work. She did the hard work. She saved the life, so we're good. Thank you so much. Deputies eventually locate the mother who arrives home shortly after. Deputy Wells with the sheriff's office. Okay, thank you. So, you can't reference the incident with your daughter. So, um so before I talk to you though, just because of the nature of everything, I have to read you your Marina. Okay. Wait, wait. Okay. Can I just say something like like I don't want any all of this to like you know I'm like the mother to these kids. Okay. You're a bad mother. Um I know I'm not that I wasn't supposed to do that. And but just like a license or like my immigration process could just be like screwed over. My husband works in construction and we don't make enough money for me to go out and do my thing and have her um so I stay home with them basically. And like I said, I just I was like, "Okay, I'll go come back." I knew that was locked. Um we fixed that because she would push it open and it would like she would she would just get out. It was locked. She could just push it open. So he's like, "Now we got to be careful." I told the other guy when we open the door, she just runs that way. Like we chase her that way. Like she just knows there. She goes and I'm like, "Um, you know, that's why I should have left her. Just put her in the car and take her with me." Um, so I I want to ask you questions about everything you're telling me. I know you want to let let me know everything. Get everything off your chest and I want to talk to you. Yeah. And if you want to talk to me, I I want to ask you questions in in reference to everything going on, but I have to read you read you the rights before I do. Okay. For any question, it says I'm required to Can I just um do Do you know what I'm what I'm saying? Yes. And I'm going to ask you questions about so many like what all this means. Yeah. Just I just have to ask this because this is a this is a because of the Yeah. because of the the situation, because of the allegations, I I want to ask you questions about everything that's going on, but uh I have to read you this." She appears overwhelmed and apologetic, insisting she never thought something like this would happen before I can do that. Okay. And any statement can be used to sketch the court law. Do you understand your rights? Okay. So, with in regards to today, so you normally I What you told me before you normally stay here? Yeah, it's me and her. He goes to school. I actually in the mornings I go out here to the bus stop. She stays here and I'm always like we stay the bus stop is right here with the other child and his name is Yeah. Okay. So, the reason I don't take her out there is cuz she on the sidewalk. So, then she stays here and then I'm on the lookout for the door on the bus. The door on the bus and then I come back in here. But it's me and her while he's in school. Have you So you had an issue with the door before cuz she likes to run off. She likes to run off and she's done in the past, right? She pushes it out. Um because you know it's either that we had a back and a front door. So it's just like she sees one of us leave and then she's like, "Oh, me too." So she'll follow one of us if we go to the dumpster. Okay. So it used to be like I closed that door and you would see her push it and she'd be behind you while you went to the trash can. So we had to fix that. And today you're home alone with her. Why did you leave her at the house or like um I went to the bank to deposit money? So you went to the bank. Does she normally stay here by herself when you run errands? No, no, no. It's like, okay, um, if she's sleeping, it's like, okay, the only thing I have here is like Publix while we go walking in the shore or um, that's the only thing that's close. She admits she believed it would be fine to leave her child alone for just a short while, but clearly that decision backfired. Why Why'd you leave her alone today? I I thought I could run and come back because um, TV it's like, "Okay, let's go. Let's go. Let's go. So turn everything off and then kind of just kind of pick her up screaming and put her in the car. So she would have she would have so she was watching TV and she would have possibly gotten upset if you pul pulled her away from the TV like let's go to her car. Would you say she needs the constant supervision? Yeah, she's a toddler. Like I said, she's not old enough to No, no, I get like like I said, we go throw away the trash. We closed the door and then we realized that she she could just push it over. She was trying to push it. Um she would be behind. When was that? When did you get that fixed? Like when was um maybe it's a month. I just let you know why we're here. We got a call at uh I believe it was 9 approximately like 9:45 9:50 in the morning. Uh someone was driving down saw your daughter running down the street. They're three blocks down and they had turned from PGA onto Ellison Wilson and saw your daughter running. Yeah. So she that's the sidewalk cuz we go for a walk. We go for a walk. So she goes that's where we go. So she go she'll go straight. So that's like our So she was running down. So the uh concerned citizen and luckily she stopped. She she first stopped and put her hazards on cuz she thought maybe you were chasing after someone was chasing after and uh so she was waiting to see if like the mom or grandma or who was behind her but she didn't see anyone. So she pulled over into a side street and she got out and then she was even further down almost the PGA. She just wants to get Yeah. So she chased after her and apparently she started to cross over to Alison to go on the other side but she yelled at her. She's like stop stop and then when she heard she apparently came to her and she was able to get her in her car so she walked her back. Okay. And then she called us. But do you understand like the severity of why they need this supervision? Officers remind her that regardless of intent, the outcome speaks for itself. Her child was found alone, vulnerable, and far from home. Cuz honest cuz honestly it per FC statue, it is neglect if you don't have supervision over the minor. And you so um is there where's dad work? Where's dad? He's at a construction site and he will pull his head off. is is dad because he's always like don't go to the trash take her go to take her and you know you're like mom you're like I can go faster if I do go if you take the go and come back I don't know is that is that able to come back here or anything like that? No, no, no. Cuz he's like he just showed up at the job site and he would be mad at me and I call him away from I'm not trying to make your situation worse or anything like that, but we still have you know our job and everything. Okay. So whenever we get a call by the welfare and it is meets the the criteria it is a felony to be a child of intended first year. Okay. So, just based on the totality, I do have to place you under arrest for neglect of a child. No, I can't. Okay. No. No. No, I can't. Ma'am. Ma'am, come here. Okay. We're going to go with our partner. We're going to wait for her. We're going to try to call. We got to call her husband. Can I call my mom? I'm going to be completely We're going to let you call who you need to. I'm trying to be as transparent as you can. Why would you Why would you do that? Okay. Cuz it's my job. You can't. Okay. I can't do that. How far does your mom live? How how sorry with my dad? Well, we're going to we're going to make those phone calls. Okay. I can't because it was over. No, my son's going to come home from school. You want to call your mom? I can't. Okay. I'm going to I'm letting you know. Okay. I can't. I'm letting I'm letting her. We're going to make it as easy as possible. I can't I I never leave her. Yeah. This is She's like, "Mom, mom." Despite her protests, officers ultimately have no choice but to place her under arrest. I can't, please. I can't. Hold on. Let me sit down. Yeah, sit down. Where's your Where's your phone at? So we can make those phone calls. He's working right now. No. Where's your phone? Do you know their numbers? Mom, what you prefer? Your mom come here or your husband? You want your mom? My husband will explode. Do you want him to call your mom or do you call the husband? We need someone to come. We need someone to come. I don't know what to do. Listen, if not DCF, no, we're trying to help you out. We're being as transparent as possible. I understand this. What happens? Where are you going to take me? You have to go down to gun club for processing. Okay. Why? Cuz you're being charged with a crime. Why? And then after afterwards, you go you'll get first appearance. You'll see a judge and they'll give you probably a court date. So, I'm not getting out today. I don't know if the quicker you go down there to do the processing, the quicker the process can started. So, you could get out. They got a night court. So, maybe you'll be able to get out. Yeah. Hopefully later today because it's only 11:00. Can I talk to one of my neighbors first? I can tell them what's happening. I'm being I'm trying to be as liberal as I can with you. As give you all the courtesy as I can, but I'm let you know I have problem calls for felony. Okay. So, I have to put you have to put you in his car. I have to put you in my house. Okay. Yeah. I'm trying to be as courteous as I can to so we'll make phone calls for you and everything and not make a scene because I don't want to use force on you. I don't want to do anything like that. You've been very cooperative and I don't want that to happen. Shortly after the father arrives and is brought up to speed on the situation. You need me. Call me please. So they're going to have questions obviously about just the house or anything. She says she might try to work with you guys maybe to get chimes on the doors or anything like that. Yes. So um your wife was arrested for it's called child neglect. So it's just neglect of the child for one of the elements is failure uh no supervision of the child. So this morning your daughter she was found she she was home alone by herself. Your door was wide open was found on the side of the road off of Yeah. She's okay. So someone concerned citizen passed by and saw her and I but didn't see anybody with her. She saw her by herself. So the the citizen stopped out and parked their car and ran after your daughter and the citizen got your daughter from Okay. to him. Yeah. So she and then she called us and she spoke Spanish too. The the citizens. So she's like she's like, "Hey, no, no, no." And then so apparently she said she was about to cross to go over Ellison into the plaza and she said a lot of cars were coming and she was in the road saying no, no, no. And then she called us. So, um, and then when we came here, I saw your door was open and there was a chair right in front of the door and it looked like on the thing to unlock the door cuz your wife said she left to go to the bank, but she didn't want to bring with her because she was watching TV been frustrated if she brought her so she left her here by herself, which you know, she has to keep supervision on. So, that's why unfortunately she was arrested because the daughter had come out of the house. wasn't supervised that was found on the street. That's to let you know she's a good wife. Yeah. And I work 45 hours just to get her what she needs. You can compare what I drive, what she drives, just to get everything to my kid. He defends his wife, saying she's normally a good mother who handles everything. Even so, officers emphasized just how dangerous the situation was and how easily it could have ended much worse. So, she doesn't have to work and do anything and take care of her. So, unfortunately, that happens. It happens. But she's a good person. My wife, sir, she's a good person. She with even have any problems. She was there with so you don't find any records anything about my my son because she's always been there. It's a tough situation. I think I think we're all just for I think everyone's fortunate that cuz it could it could have been very bad but hopefully I'm glad that a uh it was a good guy who saw that and not someone the mother is ultimately arrested and charged with felony child neglect. Number one, 911 call from child unears troubling family situation. Officers respond to a 911 call from an 11-year-old boy who says his mother is being attacked by his stepfather. When police arrive, the situation appears tense. Well, I got a deputy with me. Is that over here? He's over here, guys. Hey, no dangerous. No. That's not how this works. Okay. Who are you? Chris Jones hang up the phone right now. John, where's John? Over here. Hang on. Right now, they're not allowed. Yes. I got a deputy. Okay. Okay. Price is very hitting her. That's what that's what we got the call. Who Who is he hitting? Here. Okay. So, you're Okay. He's over here. No, he's only he's only making up stories. So, he's making up he's calling 911 and he's telling 911 operators that you're being beat up. So, I have to punch him and then um Why did I get hit in my face? Why did I get push you? Talk to the deputy. No, no, no. Go ahead. Go ahead. Well, he's going to talk to him and I'm going to talk to you because I want to know what's going on here. Well, I have to say something. Can you That's his son and I don't feel comfortable with his song. You can step. All right. So, what's going on here? So, my husband suffered from bad depressions. Okay. Well, he's saying that you're severely injured and in need of a police assistance to come immediately. No, your child on 911. I tried to get the phone and he keeps running away. Okay. So, was there a domestic battery that occurred to yours? No. Okay. My husband suffers from from bad uh depressions and everything is kept domestic. We have good doctors and this is some The mother insists there was no fight and claims everything is fine. explaining that her husband struggles with depression but didn't harm her. Just give me one second, sir. One second. But he has not done anything. Okay. Okay. He's not Did he hit me? He hit me. Did he hit you? Where? Just stay with her real quick. Yes. Done. You haven't done anything wrong. Yes, he has. No, he has done nothing. know he's also as far as you can know you get you know how much money is involved in getting all the Hey, what was your name ma'am again? I'm sorry. What was your name? Ma'am. No, I'm here with my son. Do me a favor. Don't touch me. He's fine. I need Don't touch me. Come here, Paris. I need you with me. No, I fine. He's standing right here. Relax. My son. Listen. Listen. Come here. He's fine. No, I did not. He's fine. He's fine. I promise you. Jeffy's just going to talk to him. Relax. Paris, please come. Relax. Relax. My son is only 11. I'm not doing anything. I just want my son. Paris. Paris is fine. He is right. He's right here. Paris, come with me. Don't touch me. No. No. My son. I haven't read anything. Nobody said you did. Okay. I just let myself want to talk. Paris, come with me. Fis come with me. He's only 11. Don't touch him. Don't touch him. Don't touch him. I want my Stop. Touch me. I want you. Stop with me. I don't Don't touch me. Don't touch me. I have no Okay, relax. Don't talk to me. Relax. He's just talking to his son right here. Relax. Please come with me at the door. I don't want to hurt you. Please. I just want my son. My son. Check it out. Check it out. Check it out. Listen to I want my son right now. Right now. I could put your hand if I put your hand back in my car. As officers continue their investigation, she grows more emotional. Despite warnings to calm down. Tensions rise as she insists she's done nothing wrong. Calm your down. Sus, please. I want my 11year-old. I'm afraid. Listen, ma'am. I'm going to put you in handcuffs in two seconds, okay? Because you just hit my my my taser. You understand? Okay. So, think about it. Let us But you need to calm down. Calm down. I want my son. I want my son with me. Okay. He's right here. No. Fis, please be with me. Please. I'm sorry. Okay. Sit down. Sit down. No. I want my son. Just sit down and look at him. Look, it's my wife. I just want to be with my son. Sit over here. Sit down and look at him. No. Can you please be with me? I just don't want your heart. I just want my son with me. Can you please come with me? I want him with me. He's fine. Come with me. Come with me. Your son is fine. Listen to Listen to him. Listen to him. Listen to him. Let him call. Listen. Listen. Just listen to him. No, mommy. I gave birth to your son. I gave birth to Will you listen to your son? We can talk. We can talk to your son. Come here. No, but he needs to talk to him alone and he'll talk to me. I know, but you you got to calm down. Can you please come close to me? Yeah, just let your son talk. No, I need you. I need you close to me. So he doesn't hit us. Listen to me. Please don't get mad at me. Just take a deep breath. Take a deep breath. Like your son says, "Come with me. Take a deep breath." Mommy, take a deep breath. Breathe in. Listen to him. He's saying some reasonable stuff right now. Take a deep breath. Ironically, at this point, it's the son who's offering more clarity and composure than his own mother. Take a deep breath. I am. But can you please come next to me fast? Your father died. You remember your father died. He knows. He knows. Don't Don't throw that in his face. I am the only person you have left. Can you be love? That's why he's trying to take care of you right now. But he doesn't talk. Come here now. Faris, call your supervisor. I need you to call your supervisor because my only right as a mother is to be next to my son right now. Did you just hit me? Did you just hit me? It's on video. Did you just hit me? It's on video, right? You just hit me and it's a family. You understand what I'm telling you? I'll call him, but you could be back in my car and going to jail and we're going to call DCF for your son. Is that what you want? No. Okay. So, listen to me. shut up and stop it or we'll be calling DC up because there's no you're the mother. You're the mother. There's nobody else to take care of your son. But if you're in jail, who's gonna take care of him? That's why you're not in handcuffs right now. Do you understand? You have to be next to me. I hear you. But what we're doing is we're doing an investigation. So at this time, no one's going to be near each other because we need to do our investigation. And cuz your child called 911 screaming and yelling. Listen. Listen. Your child called 911 screaming and yelling that you were severely beating. Okay. So, we're going to I know you have no marks. So, there wasn't a domestic battery that happened here. So, we have to investigate it properly. That means I need to separate everybody. Whether you're his mother or not, we separate his mother or not. It's besides the point. I separate everybody. Don't you threaten me. It's not a threat. You want to go to jail? I will call DCF and you and D7 pick your son up and I'll take you to jail for friendly battery right now. You understand? Yes. For hitting me. For hitting me? Yeah. Okay. So, my video camera right now. So, you want to play you want to play do you want to play that game, ma'am? Do you want to play that game right now? Officers explain that given the nature of the 911 call, they need to separate everyone to get a clearer picture of what actually happened. You need to you need to relax. Don't play that game with me. You need to relax. You won't go to jail. And then who's going to take care of your son? You're you're his father's dead like you just said. Remember, you're the only one. And then you play that card with me because I want to be next to because I told you to relax so this definitely can speak to your son so we can figure out what happened to me nicely. You are so rude and confidence. Okay. How much have you had to drink tonight? None. None. You had nothing to drink. Well, I actually did. I actually did. You had a couple drinks or one drink? I have a couple drinks, but it's not a felony. It's not No, it's not a felony, ma'am. I didn't stay in here. It's just a simple question. Did you have something to drink? First of all, I appreciate so much your time because you're a very respectful man. Well, no, I'm not. You ask my chief, he'll tell you that I'm a very disrespectful human being. Okay. But I'm being nice because I'm trying to figure this out. But I asked you a simple question that I have the right to ask you. But I can't hear myself. Yeah. You know why he's crying? Because he You need to actually probably get that kid in therapy cuz he is calling 911. I mean technically by law I can charge him with a crime. We're going to avoid that. Please I think he's to appoint in our family where something like that has to come down. So well I think what you need to do is you need to get control of your child. You need to get him into therapy. My child is in therapy. Is he now? Is he now? Okay. Then you probably might want to call the therapist in the morning and tell him that what he did today. No. You know what? He did something wrong. is the guy that is a master control minder and then it only takes 5 minutes for a person that smart to they suggest the child may benefit from therapy and reveal that this isn't his first emergency call. Seeing a concerning pattern, they urge the family to find healthier ways to manage conflict. Okay, I can tell you this. I can tell you this. He didn't change he didn't change my mind. You know how I changed my mind? the call came out that you were beaten up and you needed assistance and there is not a mark on you. That's what changed my mind. So, he didn't say nothing. He admitted that you two were I'm talking he admitted that you two had a verbal argument and that child got in the middle of it. That child don't need to get in the middle of it. Okay? So, you there's a control issue here and it's not just him. That child needs to learn who the adults are and who's in charge and that he's a child because now this isn't the first time I heard we've been called out by that child. You're right. He He All the Yes. Yes. And all the employees said the same thing. Nobody got beat up. Did you check his card? I didn't look at his I didn't look at his card. No, that's that wasn't the accusation. But the the problem is right now is we need to figure out what you're gonna do with him so that it doesn't escalate more tonight. If I was you, I would give him a good scare. He doesn't seem to be scared of us. If I was you, I would give him a good scare. Now, what do you plan on doing tonight? Cuz I I think the best bet is you probably shouldn't go home with your husband. Do you have a place you can go? I wasn't planning on going home because I because we had a retirement party for the prep lady who working here for 25 years and then I was planning to stay and sleep here because we have a roof in the back. Let me go talk to Johnny real quick. Meanwhile, an officer speaks with a father to hear his side of the story. Hey Johnny, the um so she's saying that you guys have a room here or something like that. Okay. She's saying that she's going to stay here the night. What do you plan on doing? I don't want to stay here because they are. Yeah, I I get that. But I mean, is there because I I really think the best bet is neither one of you being together tonight just because the kids so wound up the uh I don't want but I can't make you I can't force you to do it. No, I know. I'll make I don't want to make you go someplace. I'll make the right when this happened at the uh Thank you. Yeah. When when this happened, you know, a couple months ago at the con and they came, they knew right away she was messed up. I do nothing. And the the police, they didn't know what to do because they know they they knew like I didn't know what they didn't want, but I just And I told them about the room. I said, "I'll just leave." They said, "Well, thank you." You know, so I came here. I get a room and I left them at, you know, the condo. The condo. I'm going to mitigate. I'm not going to, you know, No, no. I don't think you're going to do anything, but I'm just I want to avoid any escalation because she seems to still be wound up. He's still I mean, the deputyy's still trying to get the kid to calm down. Um I don't know that the kids a special uh yeah my partic my partner uh my partner was one of the officers that was at the condo issue. So he advised me on the way here. So I I kind of had an idea of what was going on the uh and he warned me about the kid. So he's willing to take her home because he doesn't want her to stay here all the alcohol. Are you are you willing to take an Uber back to your condo? Uh take an Uber. I guess John doesn't want us to stay here. He he'd rather stay here. Oh, he rather to stay here. Oh, well that's fine. Can I have my son at any point? Yeah, once I have a talk to him, but uh I don't think they'll figure that out and then have us get we've been getting over, I guess. Oh my god. To avoid further conflict, officers recommend that the parents separate for the night. Thank you for doing that. Listen, young man. What's your issue? So, um, well, I I already Can you maybe tell him? So, what I have so far is they got into an argument about him having a girlfriend. Uh he pushed her uh which made her bump into him and then he got around in front and then he pushed him um and mom was holding the ladder and when he when he pushed him back into his mom he hit his head on the ladder. He hit his head. Yeah. For the Is it Did I get all that right? Okay. But the stuff that pushes him, right? You said he pushed your mom first and then he pushed you. Is that right? Police is Is that right, Ferris? All right. So, but what you told the 911 dispatcher was that your mom was severely injured and that police needed to come immediately. But I just need you guys to come before it escalates. Okay. But see, here's the thing. When you say things certain words, it makes police officers respond a certain way. And that puts my life in danger. That puts my partner's life, this deputy's life, and then the people around us. And on top of it, I don't know if you knew it, but it was raining so hard that I couldn't even see where I was going with my windshield wipers on. And I'm trying to get here because I think your mom is about to end up in a in a hospital. And I get here, she's got no mark on her. She's walking around. Can I see her, please? H Can I just see her, please? Like you guys could be right next to me. Okay. Well, this is how we have to do this is how I do my job. Okay. This is how we do it. Your mom's fine. This is what I explained to you first. We got to talk to everybody separately. Yeah. So, what we're going to do is you and mom are going to go back. Officers do their best to calm both the mother and son, reassuring them that their priority is ensuring everyone's safety. Okay. I think you guys are going to take an Uber back to the condo. No, we have a car. Well, she's not capable of driving right now cuz she's been drinking. Well, can you guys maybe drive us because I don't feel comfortable. Me and her don't feel comfortable in an Uber at night. Well, I I can't We can't transport you guys in our car. That's why we're going to put you in an Uber, a taxi. Ubers are pretty safe. You're You'll be okay. Get a safe Uber. We would not suggest it if we didn't think it was safe to be. Okay. Yeah. Like if we lived in this city, maybe I might not suggest it, but they we use we use Uber and Lift all the time. I use it also. Yep. Yes, I do, too. This is how we avoid getting DUIs on ourselves. All right. So, I'm going to get I'm going to go talk to your mom one more time and then I'll let you go see your mom. Okay. Thanks for helping us, Mommy. I got to talk to you one more time, Mommy. You're a liar. Why is he lying? What's up? Why don't you guys arrest me? You said I'm lying because I said she hit me, but I'm going to She said that I hit you. Okay, so arrest me. Listen, you guys are going to go home. Are we going to stay here like a family? It's just a little bit of fast. No, you can't act like a family. We want We want you guys to be separated for the night. No. Goodbye. Get out of my business. That's not how it works, man. Oh, how does it work? Okay. 911 was called I'm not leaving until I'm done with my investigation and I'm done dealing with What's your investigation? Okay. I I was investigating a domestic battery. Okay. So, who he's who? Well, your child's saying some things. You're denying. He's denying. So, I mean, I Okay. So, who's who? But I'm trying to tell you what the outcome is going to be. What's going to be? I've been really polite. Do not turn my switch on. Okay. Do it because I'm ready to go to jail. And I'm ready to go to jail. Now, if you go to jail, that child Listen, let's go. That child's going to end up in in in a home. You know what? This is what's going to be because apparently instead of cooperating with a plan officers have carefully arranged for the family, the mother pushes back, making the situation even more difficult. I didn't say you were the bad guy. I'm trying to get you home safely. No, that's what I'm trying to do. No, no, no. You know what this If you see the last time we called the cops and you see today, something is going to happen. So, that's why I'm trying to get you home with your child while Johnny stays here. Ah, and that's going to change everything. And that's going to change everything. Maybe you can get a Uber and you get the rest. What if you take Johnny? What if you take Johnny? Why? Why this pattern keeps happening and then you just separate us? What about Johnny take a little medicine? What if he takes a little taste of his own medicine? No. No. Right. Because nothing has happened and then you take me home and then this keeps happening every three months. Next three months I'm going to be alive. Then get a divorce. Okay. You switched it. Get a divorce. All right. I know I'm going to go in. I'm going to end up in I probably going to lose my job, but you're being un helpful. I'm trying to get you home in an Uber with your child so we can avoid having to come back out here. Yeah. Smile, laugh. You made me angry. I'm going to get in trouble. I don't care. I'm sorry. I don't mean to be disrespectful. You're disrespectful. You're 100% Now I know why your child's the way he is. I'm trying to help you and all you give is you're unbelievable. You're right. You're right. I'm so sorry. This is what you do when people try to help you. I shouldn't let Officer Green freaking arrest you for a felony. I told you to do it. We're trying to help you, though. But you don't care, do you? You're so wound up right now that you won't listen to people with good judgment. By now, it's clear the officer has run out of patience. So, I'm going to ask you again, cuz I'm going to determine something real quick. How much did How much alcohol did you put down your throat today? How much alcohol have you drank? Don't touch me, please. I just want to see myself. I'm talking to you. I'm talking to you. I didn't tell you you could leave yet. Can you please stay out of my way, please? How much alcohol have you had to drink today? Do I have to call 911 myself? You call 911, you're going to end up in jail. Don't touch me. Don't touch me. Stop. I'm not done talking. So, you're either going to go and get in an Uber and leave. I agree. So, get your phone and call an Uber. I don't even have my phone. Where's your phone? Yeah, I just want my phone. Is that your phone? Where's your phone? No. Can I please have my phone? Probably your phone going on. What is going on right now? Oh my god. Can you guys I need my underage son with me right now. He's not allowed to be He's with the sheriff's deputy. Not see him and he's not allowed. What? You need to relax. You need to relax. What are you doing? Have you What are you doing? Just call 911. And you are not allowing me. You're standing here with four police officers. Why are you calling 911? Then unbelievably, she calls 911 again. Right in the middle of the police interaction. 422. 422. If you get a 911 hang up from the restaurant, you can disregard. No. Yeah, she's hiding. Why' she try to call 911? Did she do that on the phone? They told us they No, I watched her do it. Where they Oh, take you. No, the camera's I I I don't You're not camera. Don't turn around. I don't know. What happened? Don't What did you No. I haven't done anything, Jimmy. I haven't even told you, Jimmy. Please, but I haven't done anything. You dial 911. I told you not to. That's misuse of 911. Oh my god. Jo, why did you I gave you a million freaking opportunities, lady. But I just need my son. I just Crystal, this is all you. This is all you need. Hey, does she got shoes or anything? Does she got shoes? [ __ ] Why does she have any shoes? Why? I don't know how it Let's fix something so you cannot blame this on me. I've been trying to diffuse it. John, do you know if you got shoes [Music] 119? I got 110. [Applause] Can you please slow down? Nope. Yeah, right over there. I'm just trying to avoid. You were given every opportunity, you know, and then you dial 911 in front of me. Told you not to. That move seals it. She's arrested for misuse of the emergency system. Grab a seat. John for relax or you're going to get John, please. John, please help me. John, banging her head on the the window. The woman is also charged with battery on a law enforcement officer for hitting the taser. For these children, rescue came just in time, and the people who hurt them are finally being held accountable. What's your take on these parents? Let us know in the comments.
