You, too. >> We are in route to a disturbance. And it sounds like grandma overheard her son screaming and yelling at one of his kids and she's worried about it. So, we're going to go out here and find out what is he yelling about. 23. You can show us in 23. Not a good spot to sit, but it is what it is. Hello. >> Uh, is your mom Kim? >> Huh? >> Is your mom Kim? >> Yeah. >> So, it sounds like she called us worried about some screaming and yelling. >> Yeah. Yeah. I I uh my Okay. my daughter. Um, >> can I sir? >> Yeah, you're good. You're good. He's fine. >> I was I was I was pretty upset with my daughter. >> You want to come over here? >> Um, and um >> and my my I don't know. My mom started to have some confrontations about that. You know, she was pretty upset about that. >> So, some sort of like discipline. Hey, kiddo did something wrong and hey, we're not >> Fair enough. And uh uh and then my mom got in the middle of it and um >> and her and I started having an argument. >> Okay. >> And I got in her face. >> Okay. >> And I was like, you know, her and I aren't doing very good right now. >> Okay. >> And I basically said that, you know, I zero respect for you. Just stay out of my way. >> Fair enough. >> Like she was basically uh getting in the middle of of me being a parent. >> Sounds about Yeah. No. >> Um, >> nothing physical, no threats or anything. It's just Okay. >> No, there's no physical. No. Yeah. No threats, nothing like that. Um, I didn't even I mean, she threatened to call you guys, but I didn't think she actually was going to >> was going to. And you're like, "Ah, crap." >> Okay. Oh, you're such You're precious. I know. >> Sounds like grandma tried to step in, say, "No, you can't be the parent." >> Well, she she was basically saying like, >> "Okay." [laughter] >> Okay. >> She thought that I was she was throwing bricks. She wasing my daughter. >> Oh, okay. you know, like, "Oh, I'm not going to have this in my house." So, well, I I >> putting yourself in my way, you know, >> right? Yeah. Like, it it doesn't matter where it is. It could happen at Walmart and or Target or whatever and you can still be the parent and >> Well, yeah. >> discipline your child. So, >> I I I was trying to do the right thing for my daughter. >> My daughter got suspended from school >> at 11. >> At 11. >> Oh, good grief. >> Yeah. >> Okay. But nothing nothing physical between grandma. It's just you're you're having a loud discipline session with kid and mom steps in and inter tries to interfere. >> Y >> that's fair. Okay. What you Why are you here? >> We got a call here, sir. >> What are you doing? >> We got a call here. >> Okay. >> About what? About these kids. Get them the hell out of here. >> Okay. Well, there's no reason to >> I raised my kids. >> Okay. Okay, sir. There was no reason to gun it right then. Okay. >> It's my driveway. Gun it. >> Okay. Well, if you would have hit me, that would have been really bad. Understandable. >> I wouldn't hit you. >> Okay, I got you. So >> I'm just off because they're driving me crazy. >> So that's fair. Are you grandpa or >> I'm grandpa? >> Okay. Okay. This is the first time I've been out here. >> Mine is paid for and I've been driving just Why you can't Why are you here? >> I think your wife called us. >> Would I be able to chat with her real quick? >> I suggest you tell them to get off my property. >> Do they live here with you? >> Yes. I've been raising them. >> Okay. Well, here's the thing. I can't I can't force them to leave. You need to get them evicted. >> You need to get them evicted and then I can help them. I can get them out of here. I can't force them to leave tonight. Okay. >> I My wife called me >> and and I'm just up to here. >> Yeah. So I don't privacy. >> I got you. >> I I I uh they don't pay nothing. >> Kind of mooching off grandparents. >> Yes. >> Okay. >> It's expensive. >> I don't doubt that. I don't I live by myself and it's expensive. Hi. Are you Kim? >> Yeah. >> Okay. All right. What What's going on over here? >> Um I told uh the person that answered my call that I had heard my granddaughter in that her mom had come over to see her. Her mom probably took her. um that um her dad had come into my bedroom to get her his daughter to go talk to the mom >> and that I heard her crying. >> Mhm. >> And I heard him yelling at her. >> Yeah, >> they live here. I feed them everything. >> Does Curtis live here? He lives in that >> in the trailer. Okay. Okay. >> But we have rooms for them downstairs. And uh >> and I said and then my son threatened me. He said, "This is, you know, get out of my face, mom." You know, I mean, he was really mad. He came into the house. He scared me. And I was like, I said, "I'm calling 911." He was like, "Client, go ahead and call 911. As far as I know, nobody's been hurt. >> There are no weapons involved." Mhm. >> And I certainly didn't want to say that anybody had done anything except it was family dispute cuz it scared the >> Okay. When >> my husband scared me anymore. He's so immediate and I'm like >> Yeah. Your your husband's a little a little hot right now. So, we got to get him calmed down. >> When you when you say Curtis threatened you, was it just calling you a stuff or Okay. So, it wasn't like a I'm going to hit you type threat. Okay. It was just him being loud and angry >> face. Get out of my way. >> Okay. >> Okay. Do you feel safe with husband here? >> No. >> Okay. Do you want to go somewhere? >> Are you Are you able to drive yourself or do you need to ride somewhere? >> What's uh what's your husband's name? >> I understand. >> Physically. He's just >> he's he's at rate and he's he's yelling and screaming at me and had had some >> He's really really >> I understand that blame for this. >> So So the thing is if you guys want Curtis and the kids out of here, you need to file for an eviction. And I tried to explain that to him and he wasn't listening to me. Okay. So if you want Curtis out of here >> Yeah. >> you need to file for Yeah. You need to file for an eviction and stuff like that because I can't I can't force him to leave. If Curtis didn't want to leave tonight, I couldn't force that. >> I know. And I didn't tell him. He said, "I'm out of here." I said, "Fine, fine." >> Hello, [laughter and gasps] >> Stephanie. >> What's going on? >> Can you come and get me? Steve is so mad. And I I know he's not going to hurt me. He's never hit me, but he's so angry. Do you have any way to come by or shall I call someone else? >> Yeah, I can come by. Um I I don't I mean I can I can come by. We can sit in the car and talk. >> I mean, just it's just because you're close by. I mean, I should call my sister, but I don't know if she'll answer. I just need a ride somewhere. Okay. >> Okay. All right. >> Stephen, we are we are calming down a little bit. I know that you were Okay. Okay. >> Just been building >> just Yeah. Yeah. I get that. >> I mean, I would >> I got you. You got you got a couple bikes and everything. You're just trying to live your life now. >> $1,000. >> I can see that >> as a CVO. >> Yeah, it's a big one. >> CBO is >> It's a big one. >> It's a custom. >> Okay. Okay. >> Okay. All right. Yeah, you put paid a pretty penny for that one. >> I can see that. Yeah, I believe that. So, >> anyway, >> okay. Well, sounds sounds like Curtis and the kids left for the night at least to calm everybody down. Okay. this guy here. >> Hey. >> Hey. >> I'm not going to do anything for this. >> Steven. >> Steven. There's no reason. I mean, you're grabbing me. I just got to go talk because listen, it's because I need to make sure that a fight doesn't break out between the two of you. It's nothing more than that. >> I just need Don's help, >> kid. Cuz he's been helping. >> Okay. >> That's all. >> Okay. I'm used to >> Well, you seemed like you were going to go over there and there was going to be some kind of fight. So, it's my job to make sure that that doesn't happen. >> So, am I going to get some repercussions now? >> No. >> No. We're just going to document that we came out here and we're going to leave. All right. Well, we're not forcing anybody to leave. I think Kim's going to go hang out with the friends. So, everybody calms down and is just separated. >> Find the No, >> cuz I can't >> I You You're a little You got a little hot heavier on that one for a little bit, but no more. I'm a >> I can tell you I know I know you do too. So >> that's a fair statement. >> That's a fair statement. >> Well, and I tell you >> what what would you do if you What would you do in our situation if we saw somebody that was very I rate and upset screaming and yelling? Can you put put yourself into our shoes? What would you have done? Would you have let us something happen or would you have tried to stop it from getting escalated? >> You know, I know. But do we know that? You know, got too much other stuff to deal with than the stupidity that went on today, it sounds like. So, I think Kim's going to go hang out with one of her friends so that everybody just is separated and is and can calm down to their own satisfaction and we're going to get out of here. Okay. Do you have any questions for us tonight? I >> have a question. >> Okay. Okay. Will you try to try to >> they're if they come back on here, you know, have some they're going to have some >> So, here here's the thing. Curtis and the kids are allowed to be here. Okay. They live here. To change that, you either need to go and get them evicted or get paperwork filed for a restraining order. Okay. >> Grow up and take care of >> I, you know, I wish a lot of people would grow up and take care of themselves. >> 76 and I I've taken care of myself >> for 76 years. Yep. No, I understand that. Well, legally they're allowed to be here. Okay. Why? >> Because they they have residency. Just because they leave for the night does not mean they have vacated their entire their entire property. They left for the night to keep everybody calm and so nobody would go to jail. Okay. >> Appreciate you. >> I appreciate. >> Good luck with everything going forward. >> Well, hi puppa dog. >> Hi to dogs. >> He's like I'm coming to Kim. Do you need anything else from us tonight? >> No. No. >> Okay. All right. Will you try to have a better evening? Okay. So, we figured out what was going on. I guess uh it was a excuse me, a um dad was disciplined his 11year-old for getting a little too aggressive with some rough housing with uh her 14-year-old brother. >> Um while he's disciplining her, uh grandma >> starts to intervene and >> step in step in place of dad. And dad gets upset and yells at the grandmother. While we're >> about to go talk to the grandmother, uh the grandpa uh drives up and is extremely irate. Um yelling, screaming, spinning tires, stuff like that. He's tries to get into my face and just yells and screams and is just angry. Um, as he's walking off, uh, my partner had to somewhat restrain him a little bit to start to calm him down just a smidgen. But in the end, we were able to decide parents and the kids are going to leave for the evening. Uh, the grandma was going to leave and to maintain some distance between the grandpa. and we'll we'll document this and send it up to our uh detectives. We'll just make this uh some sort of welfare check of a child. Now, um no crime in our opinion has been committed. There's a lot of a lot of anger and seems like a lot of history within this house. Uh so, we're getting dispatched to a it's a stalled vehicle. Um uh due to the weather right now, a lot of streets are flooded and uh it appears that uh our calling party had drove through the uh flooded water and now their vehicle is stalled out um and not running. So, we're going to go check on them and just make sure they're okay and hopefully um assist them in getting a tow truck out to tow their vehicle away from the flooded area. Let's see if we can get around. Goodness. Oh, that looks low. 13. I'm in the area. It looks like there's multiple vehicles that are just flooded out in this area. It's pretty flooded. We're going to have to go around. I'm not getting my car stuck. Tell you that right now. We're just going to go up and around. Hello. >> Are you the driver? >> Okay. Um, are you able to Who? Who is that? >> Hello. >> Hello. >> Hi there. >> Hey, how are you, sir? >> Hi, this is Officer Maxaw Police Department. >> Okay, is my cousin like sometimes he's uh >> Yeah. Are you uh >> Can you tell him he needs to call a tow truck? Tow truck. You already called. >> Yes. Yes. >> Is that them calling you? >> Can you uh >> are you able to uh are you a Is that the tow truck company? >> Yeah. Yeah. >> Um are you able to ask them or ask him if uh he can assist me pushing his vehicle out of the street? Okay. >> 164 gear is turned off but it doesn't move here. >> Can he put his car in neutral? >> Push. push >> over here. >> Okay. >> We're going to push >> and then you're going to you're >> No, you you can drive. You're going to turn left. We're going to go in here. Okay. You good? Ready? Okay. Stop. >> Turn the wheel. >> Turn the wheel. >> Turn the wheel. >> Go left. Left. Left. >> This This side. >> Keep turning. Keep turning. >> Keep turning that way. This way. Just turn. Just turn. He's sometime the guy just push up the car. >> He said what? >> You sitting there steering wheel here. Sir, >> will you please show me in route to the >> Yeah, >> he's he's telling the his or the guy that's translating for him that the the steering is hard. >> Okay, just Oh, it's >> There we go. Okay. Nice and slow. >> All right. Hit your brake. Break. There we go. Can you ask does he have a ride home? Oh, >> can you pick up for like the home? >> You said what? >> He sometime he doesn't like his car but can you pack up for that like him drop out the home? The guy >> What are you asking if I can take him home? Yes. >> Well, it it depends. Where does he live? Does he have insurance on his vehicle? >> Yes, he has everything. Insurance, Larry. >> Yes, he has. >> Well, no, no, no, no. Come here. What? Can you ask him if he has an app for his insurance? >> App on phone. >> First Chicago insurance. Ask him if he has money for a tow truck. >> Uh, so right now he doesn't have the money. >> Are you able to call his insurance company and help him talk to them? >> No, sir. I I am in my duty and I can do it. You know, I'm very busy and >> Okay. Does >> he call his insurance agent and they will have somebody translate for him. >> Okay. if he tell him if he calls his insurance company that right they they will have somebody translate the I mean if he can't contact his insurance right now then he's just going to have to leave his vehicle here >> and he'll have to call them tomorrow. He just needs to lock up he needs to lock up his vehicle >> and and keep it here. And then you said did you say that he has somebody on the way to pick him up? >> Yes. >> Okay. Can I get a private tow please to the 800 block of West Harry Street? Uh, so we ended up making contact with the driver out here with the stalled vehicle. It looks like he decided to attempt to go through the flooded area which ended up stalling out his engine. So, we ended up uh there was a language barrier there, but we ended up getting it figured out and uh we got him a tow truck. that way uh uh we can get his vehicle uh out of this area and go over to a body shop so he can get his car fixed and uh we're going to sit here and wait for them to get his car up on the tow truck and then we're going to go today. So, we're going to a call where this kid supposed to got into a fight or guy kid, I'm not sure, got into a fight and uh went to the hospital and then came back from the hospital, didn't report it to the cops and then now I'm assuming mom or somebody's calling in saying that he is now coughing up blood or having some reaction to the fight from earlier. So, EMS and fire are already here. Another officer is already here. We're just going to go see what we can do. Yeah. >> What's up? >> Um, just got here. I have no information about anything. So, talk to me in your bag. his mom. >> Yeah, that's what I I kind of read it like it was his mom, but I wasn't sure. >> All righty. So, we're just going to go check and see if this guy did make a report or if a report was made and maybe he doesn't know a report was made or whatever. Going to go check and see if he's in the system and get him some help. I guess he's got some injuries to his face and stuff. So, uh, checked up our niche, which is our charting system. He did not make a case today. He has a lot of cases in niche, but not nothing that pertains to today or whatever happened to him today. So, I'm going to let the other officer know and see what else we can do. So, this was I think it was mom who was calling it in. Mom stated that him and cousin got into some sort of fight. They both went to the hospital earlier >> and both left the hospital and he declined to talk to us or want to tell us anything about what happened. Everything we got was secondhand information from mom. So, we're just going to document what we know and it's all we can do. We're not sure if he's going to be transported to the hospital or not. I think he'll probably refuse it. I think mom was the one that was concerned for him. But calls like this, we just document it and it's all we can do. Can't investigate it if he doesn't want to be a victim or >> anything like that. So, on to the next. So, we're back out at a property we've already been at like four times this week. It's a vacant house. People got evicted, left a ton of stuff behind and now squatters and other people keep coming through here and just breaking stuff, taking things and everything like that. A guy is over here on a quad. Passure buys keep calling in that people are over here taking things. So allegedly the house has mold. So, I'm not going to stick my head in there or walk through the house at all, but I'm just going to pop my head in real quick and just make sure I don't hear anybody rumaging around still. Sheriff's office. Anybody inside? Make yourself known. So, what's up with the house? >> Um, what's related to the house? Did you live here or you own it? >> Um, no. See, I came by last time. I did a little walk through, what not? I like it. Trying to figure out if they going to rent it. What's going on? >> Oh, you're trying to buy the house? Yeah. >> Oh, we don't we don't know. Um, everybody got evicted out the house. No one's supposed to be on the property. the county commissioner is trying to figure out whoever owns the property if they're going to fix it up or whatever they're going to do with it or if they're going to defer it to the county. Um I heard that there's supposed to be mold inside the house like black mold. Okay. >> So they have to have code compliance come check everything out and see if it's going to be condemned to be cleaned or whatever. Um or what's going to happen. So I'm not sure. Um you'd have to figure out you know where the assessor's office is. >> Um yeah I'm from Atlanta Georgia. I'm just now learning. Oh >> that's right. You live right down the road. Yeah I talked to you. That's right. A little bit >> supposed to be um filling out for N County. >> What's that? >> What we filling out for N County? >> Oh, okay. >> Do the ride alone and everything. >> Oh, okay. Got you. >> But I'm trying to trying to figure it out cuz where I'm standing at I don't like it, but it's like a good house or whatnot. So, >> yeah, it definitely needs some cleaning up to do. There's been people that have been squatting in here and and doing craziness the last couple weeks since people get evicted out of here. But, if you check with the assessor's office, go talk to them. I don't know the whole process. So they'll be able to better let you know how the whole thing works cuz like I said, not sure what's going what the countyy's going to do with the property because we don't know if the owners are even doing anything with it or anything like that. So, but the county commissioner was out here and then like I said, co- compliance has to do something check check it to make sure it's not moldy and all that stuff, but ESR's office, they should be able to let you know or if you go down to the county buildings over there in the Kavat eye, um they should be able to at least point you in the direction of who would know like the process of what happens with the properties cuz I don't we don't know. >> Yeah. >> All right, we're going over to help out Deputy Champlain. He uh has located two juveniles between the ages of three and five. Um >> he said they appeared to have some injuries. So he's have medics come check them out. Uh the parents are nowhere to be found. We don't know where they belong or anything like that. So we're going to go over and help try to find these parents and we'll go from there to see what's going on. George Edward one. >> Hello. >> Where'd you find them? >> Uh, they're that way somewhere with my partner. >> Are they okay? >> Yeah, they're fine. >> They're okay. >> Yeah. >> How long are they gone for? Do you know? >> I don't know. >> How'd they get out? My son can unlatch the front door now and he keeps running out the >> shop. Go get your keys and we're going to go over to the pick them up. So, what do you want us to do? >> I don't know. >> Wanted your medical opinion on their feet. >> Why not? >> I They were walking. Nothing's visibly broken. And they look fine to me. I'd love to take them home. Okay, >> we'll get out of here then. Okay. >> Okay. Um, >> better morning. >> Are there any like devices that you guys know about to like keep a door shut? >> There's a bunch of them. >> I have four sets and they just keep opening them and leaving. >> Yeah. The one I use for my girls. There's like a like a little thing on top. >> It's hard for them to reach. >> Yeah. So, there's a couple of them. You just got to look online. All right. If I sleep in like this, sometimes they he'll open the door and I've been I have four different sets of latches and he can undo all of them now. And he doesn't like come to my room to wake me up anymore. He just >> How old are they? >> He's he's almost five and he's almost four. >> Okay. >> They both have IEPs and it's just rough. Mhm. >> They used to run to the backyard and that was nice >> cuz then it's like then they'll be trapped in the backed but now he's like >> front you know the front door because go on an adventure. >> Have they ever gotten out to all this extent as far as running down the street? >> I haven't gone this far. Usually I'll hear something [crying] and I'll hear a door open and I'm running. You go to the house and verify all the locks are there. Then I would say >> the house looks nice. >> I need >> Did you verify if the doors were all? >> No, I didn't. But I just I just saw the outside. It looked clean. Everything like that. >> Please stop. >> Hey, buddy. What you doing? >> He's trying to leave again. >> But I'll go with her back to the house. >> Yeah, we'll all go back. Um, >> you want to get him secured in and then I'll watch him for a second. >> If you want to bring the car up closer, you can. >> Okay. Thank you. >> Oh, don't worry. I got you. High five. Here we go. >> Yeah. Like it's a big enough backyard they can play and have a good time. >> Yeah. >> It's just I guess they get bored. They want to go >> go explore. So ultimately it looks like these kids are just experts at escaping. Um I didn't She has like four locks on her door. Kid was somehow able to get them all off. Um she said he usually tries to escape and he goes through like the back door, but this first time he went through the front door and she ended up having to chase like find out that he was gone. I think it was maybe 30 minutes. Um the house was clean. She has no history whatsoever for having this. So ultimately I think that it's just going to be information to child services. Um no criminal charges are going to be pressed against her at the moment. So right now we are in route to a domestic in the central area of town. So, this originally came in as a 911 cell disconnect >> and a uh female called yelling saying a male stole from her. And that the male advised the female won't let him leave. She is yelling in the background. Male keeps saying she won't let him separate. Uh the male is stating that the female is drunk and that the female has a knife pointed at him and is threatening him. We have extensive history with these two and I believe they were as of just lately they were supposed to be separated but I guess now they're moved back in together. So, we'll go see what's going on. >> I believe there's a structure fire behind Valley Electric somewhere. I'm going to go and investigate. >> Copy. We've been receiving calls from it in the area of Second and West. Second and West. >> Copy. I'm arriving now. I can see the flames. It's pretty big. >> Copy. Is it a structure? >> I'll advise. Give me one second. >> Copy. >> All right. So we're >> have one proceed to the domestic domestic >> copy. Do you copy? >> That's a firm I just arrived. Did uh Sam4 just want me to redirect from he to be in route to domestic. >> Copy. I'll be in route. Copy. That structure five is going to be just north of third and west. >> All righty then. It's not being redirected over to our domestic. So, we're arriving on this uh domestic with the knife. We have a unit that's already there. So, hopefully she's dropped the knife and stuff is kind of deescalated, but we'll see exactly what's going on and how we could better assist our unit that's already on scene. So, just to clear up that domestic, they Jessica, she denied everything happened. Her her story wasn't really making much sense at all. She wasn't cooperative. Even the RP wasn't cooperative. They were just This is uh this is frequent with them. They they do this quite often. Um, but at the end of the day, it's going to be a negative domestic. It's verbal and everybody's just all kinds of wound up in there. Hopefully stuff can settle down for the rest of the night. That way, we don't have to come back out there, at least for tonight, you know, and they can just get along and figure out their own problems and come to their own resolutions. So, just clearing up that domestic. There was some deputies and uh the fire department that actually ended up arriving on that structure fire. So, we're going to go and see where we can help out on that. Maybe closing down some roads or something until our sheriff's auxiliary unit shows up to take my place or take a deputy's place in closing down the roads. Goodbye. Heat. Heat. fire shut down. Crews were dispatched for report of a structure fire. The initial reports from dispatch were indicating it was a large and significant fire in an area that didn't have fire hydrants. So, as you can see, we brought a number of apparatus with us this evening, including our medic units in the event that there were any injuries. As we arrived on location, we had heavy fire showing through the roof. We commenced the defensive exterior objective since this building is known to be unoccupied and is not in the best condition and is surrounded by an overabundance of personal property. So, as a result, we want to make sure our firefighters are safe. The defensive exterior objective allowed us to get tons of water on the fire yet keep our personnel at a safe distance. The fire was quickly controlled. We did have Valley Electric, which is our local power provider, come out because we had an arcing line for a service drop to the residents. And currently, that's being taken care of so we can remain to have a safe scene. And we're working now [music] as far as moving to the investigative stage. And we're in contact with our state fire marshall's office. [music] >> [music] >> Heat. Heat.
