They hit the gas with an attitude, but the cops hit back harder with facts, charges, and a whole lot of reality. Here are five cases when cops humiliate the entitled road ragers. Number five, unhinged driver gets arrested after road rage in mommy's vehicle. A female driver calls the police after her side mirror is damaged by a man during a highway incident. Here's what happens next. Which vehicle is yours? What's going on? I had almost gotten into an accident, but I didn't. I got you. But the guy was behind me. I was like taking a left off the exit from the loop, but I didn't. I break. He came up from behind me, drove a little bit faster, and then like stopped in front of me. Okay. And so I break again. He came out of the car and like knocked on my window and then before he left he had done that. Okay. How'd he do that? He like I don't even know how but he like took his knee and then just started kicking and like kneing. Okay. And where did this happen? Um right off the exit nine loop on Peter Street. Yeah. Guess you're getting off onto Peter Street. Yeah. Okay. Did he like what happened after he struck your your mirror? He went back to his car and got back on the loop, I think. Okay. And you said you have pictures of him? Yeah. I not of him, but of his car. Okay. [Music] And then this is a like light brown Mercedes. Like I most definitely did not hit his car, but yeah, he would have actually stopped and waited for a police report if you had hit him. Yeah. Apparently he's an Emory mom. Sure. He's kind of masculine for an Emory mom. You have a driver's license on you? Yes. The driver recounts what happened, clearly frustrated by the whole situation. Why? He has a beard. He's a brunette. He had a long brown hair that I think he had in a ponytail. He was wearing a black t-shirt and um sunglasses. Thank you. Phone number for you? 77 All [Music] right, give me one second. All right, I'll be right back. About how old do you think he was? Slightly older than me. Okay. He's not old. He's like mid20s, early 30s, I guess. Mid20s, early 30s. Not old, but not like 18 either. Okay. All right. This is going to be the case number. I get it off there. Uh my name, badge number, and then it's going to be the year, month, day, and the last four is Yep. So, if you want a copy of the police report for like insurance or whatever else. Okay. Um, I'm going to do a little bit of investigating. Um, try and figure out who was driving the vehicle and possibly try to interview that person. But if you want to copy the police report, they're typically right about five, seven business days. Okay, sound good? Give me questions for me. The officer listens and offers some practical advice for getting her car repaired. What about it? How do I take care of this? Um, auto body shop. Um you you just have to call you can you can either make an insurance claim um for for cars like this typically like were there any like automatic sensors in the like did it give you like blind side detection like the little yellow it doesn't doesn't um a lot of times if you go to like a junkyard they will have old um side view mirrors and you pay them a couple bucks and they'll just hand them to you and then you can get find some friends know how to wire up cars They'll actually just reinstall it for you. Or you can go to an actual body shop and have someone install a new one for you or the dealership. The dealership will be able to do that as well. All right. Sound good? Yep. Any questions for me? I don't know. Do I have to do anything? Did it cause any damage? No. No. Um, this is just a road rage incident. Yeah. Um, it's all boils down to the charge with criminal trespass. When asked whether she's willing to press charges and testify in court, this is her response. Regardless, the behavior is unacceptable and no one should have to put up with that, right? So, I was wondering if I had to do anything. Um, no. We'll reach out to you if you need. All right. It's all good. All right. Yes, ma'am. You be safe. Have a good day. Hey, real quick. He was white. Um, quick question. Are you interested in pressing charges for this? That was an important question I meant to ask. Are we going to press charges? Yeah, you go ahead and do it. Okay. So, we're pressing charges. Like if you if we make contact with this person, we have probable cause to make an arrest. Do you want us to arrest them? Should we arrest him? Yeah. Okay. That's all I need to ask. Do I need to go there? Do I need to to drive there now? No, she she doesn't need to do anything. No. Do I need to go there? Tell me if I need to go drive you to drive there. The only problem is that I don't want to drive around with a broken mirror. If you're uncomfortable with that, because I understand because it's dangerous. Is it the left or the right? The left one. Good. So, what happened? Well, I I was turning left as I was merging that in, but I Uh, central. Hey, central. It's 262. Okay, let me like my mom just wants to know like what the process is and what like I have to do on my end. Like do I have to Oh, you'd have to go to court. You'd have to testify. You'd have like there would be a whole proceeding for that. Like there would be court dates you'd have to show up to. um it would either go it's either going to get uh decided before trial or it may go to trial, but um that's typically where if you're going to be a part of the process, that's typically how things go. Okay. Officers traced the suspect's vehicle to his parents' house. When they arrived, the parents seem surprised and unaware of the situation. Mr. Officer Ellswick, just just the man I was looking for. Um your son home? He is. He is. Mind if I speak to him right now? Has he has he talked to you at all about Have you talked to him since our phone call? No. Okay. Um, so hello. Uh, I'll give you all the rundown. Um, there was a little bit of Why don't you come in the house? Is that all right? Yeah, I I'll talk to you guys for a year, then I'll go inside. I'll speak to your son. Um, there was a near miss accident out on the loop. Um, sounds like there was some miscommunication and someone's uh, windshield got damaged. So, I just wanted to speak to your son, figure out what what was going on there. Um, and kind of kind of get his side of the story before I before I make my final report. Sound good? Windshield? Huh? Yeah. Windshield? Or sorry, not windshield. Um, side view mirror. Oh, okay. Yeah. But yeah, if you don't mind, I'll step inside and speak. Just don't mind the laundry. No, no, that's fine. I got you. boy that lives in a townhouse. Everything's in the kitchen. No, I got you. 360. I'm on scene about to make contact. It's fine. Oh, thank you. See uh big happy puppy. Yeah. Well, he's deaf and old. Oh, okay. He's Hello. I talked to him, but he can't hear anymore. Yeah, you smell my puppy. Check this out. This block right here. Thank you. He's a great guard dog. Oh, I bet. Everyone's a friend. Yeah, he's getting him. He's going to bring Oh, okay. I take you out. The officer explains the reported road rage incident and asked to speak to their son directly. Yeah, he had a stroke a couple months ago. Oh no. Looking pretty good for having a stroke. Luckily was home and he just picked him up and we went to the you know the emergency room at the vet school and he was only there for a few days and we got to bring him home. His hind quarters are real weak. I gota but um other than that he's doing pretty good. We he's a rescue. Okay. My son got him when he was in college and uh he had heartworms when he adopted him and I think he was about 18 months old, but we don't really know. So, he's 11 or 12. Okay. Looking good for 11 or 12 for a big dog. Yeah. We lost uh the family dog to a stroke over Christmas. Well, we just lost our other one really ago. Yeah. Oh, I'm sorry to hear that. 16. Wow. She was a Australian cow dog and um she just things just gave out. She had I mean we have her for a long time so yeah. You want to step outside and talk for a minute? Sure. The suspect eventually comes outside and gives his version of what happened. You uh you know why I'm out here today? Do you have an idea? Uh yeah. Okay. Um well, tell me why. Well, there's a I was going to there's a crossroads the frontage round 104. Okay. And uh so this lady pulled down in front of me as I was going through. Mhm. She looked like she was about to go straight. Then at the last minute, she turned left. And I know there's people behind me, but there wasn't anybody to the left of me in the lane. So I pulled into that lane to go around her cuz she pulled right out in front of me. Yeah. So uh I got into the the next lane over. and then she pulls over into the left lane over so and like almost ran me off the road or out of that lane anyway. So I pulled over um and she or I I wanted to see if I had any damage to my car and also ask her if there was any like what did I do or what is wrong with her, right? She didn't roll down her window. Um so I just left. Okay. Um, was any part of her vehicle damaged? Not that I know of. No. So, there'd be no like no reason why she'd be missing her side view mirror. Not that I know. No. Um, and that's it. So, she's pulled over with her. But the officer quickly grows skeptical, spotting inconsistencies, particularly around how the incident ended. I just pulled around her. Okay. Pulled in off to the side of the road to the right side. So you pulled in front of her. I pulled I pulled in Yes. Okay. And then there wasn't anyone beside her. And I mean that's where that was the lane I was in. I just pulled out momentarily because she pulled right out in front of me. Okay. So you pulled around in front of her. So she was I'm in the back of the house and I came through. She pulled in and I just went around instead of slamming on my brakes. Okay. So then how'd y'all stop? I just I just went around there and I stopped in front of her. Yes. Okay. So on on the loop? Not on the loop. Like on the highway. Yeah. Like where where you at? Where you at when you stopped? Underneath the underpass. You're on the underpass. Okay. But you pulled in front of her and then stopped your vehicle. Yes. Okay. And then you got out of your car. Yes. So you pull in front of her, you stop your car, you get out of your vehicle, and you go back to speak to her. Okay. And during that time, she doesn't roll down her. Why wouldn't she roll down her window at that point though if she stopped with you? I don't know. Cuz I pulled over and she didn't go around. So, I got out and glanced at everything and then she wasn't responding to me, so I left. You just left. Okay. So, I feel like there's something you're not telling me here. Have you been completely honest with me so far? That's all I have to say. That's all you have to say? Yes. Okay. You wouldn't have to have any weapons on you right now, would you? No. Not just lift up your shirt, showing me you turn around and show me. All right. Go ahead and place your hands behind your back for me. After a final check, the officer makes the call. The man is searched, handcuffed, and calmly placed in the patrol car. All right. So, you're going to be under arrest for uh aggressive driving and criminal trespass to property. All right. How am I trespassing? Trespassing property. Uh he's going to go to jail. Um he's probably going to bond out today. Um but just Is your phone inside or you got in your pocket? I have my phone. What? I have my phone. Okay. So, he'll be able to call you. All right. We're going to walk over this way and stand in front of that back tire there. Stand in front of it. Yep. It's right there. Besides your wallet or sorry, your uh phone, your pockets, or anything else that before I pull things out that I need to know about. I got a chapstick. That's it. Chapstick. Okay. Okay. Earplugs back in your pocket and turn around. Take a seat for me. aggressive driving 1095 and then uh trespass property. So the man is ultimately charged for criminal trespass and aggressive driving. Number four, offduty cop loses it in traffic and gets arrested. Deputies respond to a road rage incident involving an offduty sheriff's deputy. Here's what happens next. All right, so based on the situation that we have, we have to base our decision off to circumstances. The totality of circumstances in the situation tells me that you would have to aggressively you brought the knife to a what would have been a verbal argument had you not brought the knife into play. Okay. At some point whenever he identified himself and draws his pistol that's okay. So it's going to be at this time that I'm under arrest. Okay. Your charges are going to be aggravated ass. Meanwhile, the wife offers her statement about the other party's aggressive behavior and asks how to file further complaints, convinced her husband shouldn't be arrested. You never know how to I understand what you're trying to say, but for somebody and I was in the car trying to hold them down and I cried. Yeah, there's places to help right now. I understand, but I just hope you can understand that we have a job to do. Can I ask you another question? If I went along and passed for his threatening on my husband to add his mental health, how can I do that? Right. So, you've already got that statement written and you've got the prosecution in place. I'm going to talk to my LT, go through the details to see if we got enough to what they call an EPS for the threatening behavior. So, I'm going to talk to my LT about that and we'll go from there. If you need updates on the case, you're welcome to call the state attorney's office cuz the countyy's being placed under arrest. Any case updates will be coming from the state attorney's office. So after here, you're taking him in. You'll be going to hospital county corrections down the road here. Okay. Um it's off Samson Road. If you need help with anything, let us know. Uh the first step is getting a bail bond unless you have like cash or something. Can you get a bail? different ways. Uh, this will probably it's 10%. So, what would this be? Uh, 7500. Okay. I'm sorry. Not No, I'm sorry. It's $2,500 bond. So, probably 250. Uh, yeah. 500. 500. Right now. Call right now. Call as soon as you like. And I highly recommend it. You have the right to have the state provide you an attorney, but getting a personal attorney sent back much better. I know it's a lot. I'm sorry I have. Before transport, the suspect is checked for weapons and assured they'll be evaluated by a nurse upon arrival at the jail. But we got to do what we got to do. Okay. Do you need anything from her or from you guys our ways? You want to leave? anything. Does he keep his personal item like his phone and Yeah, he keeps it's like a phone and a wallet. It's all you really want to take with you. Yeah, that's that's what that is. You want to take this stuff with you? So, for anything that Do you want to take this with you? Yes, please. So, if you need to see a health provider right now, they have them at the jail, don't they? They have them at the jail. Yes. You'll see a nurse at the jail and just let her know what's going on. And if I want to get any questions you guys on whatever You want to stand right here by a tire close? You have any ones or knives? Nothing like that? All right. [Music] Just because you wear a badge doesn't mean you're above the law. Even sheriff's deputies have to follow the rules. Number three, road rager finds out the hard way. This cop isn't having it. Deputies approach a parked vehicle asking the driver to step out due to a reported road rage incident. I'll be out in 13. Hey, how are you, man? Hey, I'm D with the sheriff's office. Were you guys just involved in an altercation? Maybe a road rage incident with somebody? Uh, yeah, that was a road ra. Okay. All right. Would you mind to step out of me real quick? Just talk to me so I can get your side of story. So, I can talk to you right here. Well, I'm asking you to step out. Okay. So, you can step out or I can help you out. It's your choice. Listen, you don't have the right to put your hands on me. I'm talking Nobody's going to I'm cooperating. I'm talking. Okay. And I'm asking you to step out so I can talk to you. I'm not going to step out of my vehicle for what? Do you have your ID, sir? I sure do. Okay, let me see it, please. Let me get my video going. Okay, get your video going. Keep an eye on your traffic. 132 021 53. Get him. Get him. So, you want to tell me what's going on then? I was turning from coming from the beach. I was getting over in the left lane. There's around me. So, I come over here to McDonald's and I tell him, I said, "Look, following me." So that means you need to wait to see what I'm going to do before you try to speed around. He got in the the left far left lane. So I got in the far left lane behind him and I came over and I asked him. I said, "What was the purpose of you cussing?" When asked about the incident, he admits to punching another driver after being cut off. He claims he wanted to teach the other man respect and believed his actions were justified. So he was behind me. Cuz he's cussing at you. He punched him in the mouth. And I'm going to tell you why. It's because from here forward, y'all going to learn to respect what we are on earth. That [ __ ] called for. I was I had I was in front of him. So that means that wherever I go, if he's behind until I decide where I'm going to go, I was getting in the lane the left the only left lane that was open. He was not trying to get to the far left lane. That lane wasn't even open yet. Just to get to Donald and came beside us and started cussing at us. I was like, "Okay." came over here to the light and I asked him, I said, "What was the purpose of you cussing at me?" And I said, "You going to look in front of Where was he standing when you busted him? Was he like at your window?" He was sitting in this car right here. I walked over to the car and I asked him, I said, "Look, what was the purpose of you cussing at me? You were behind me and you had to wait until I moved and what whatever I did, you decided what you going to do after that. You started cussing." He said, "Well, you learn how to fuck." I said, "Well, you going to you're going to learn how to respect what what I am on earth and what I stand for on earth right now. Y'all better stop messing with us. Y'all better stop messing with us. That guy, he got judged today. And if you knew who I was, you would know why he got judged. And if you knew the [ __ ] that he was into before this incident this day, everything happens for a reason. Nothing. Somebody help with him over there. Everything happens for a reason. And y'all need to stop getting involved in people's personal business because all that does is just create more situations where people don't have to take responsibility for the you understand when you make contact with somebody it's considered a battery. So we got the call so we have to investigate it. Deputies remain composed but clearly concerned by the man's rhetoric and defiance. Look, he verbally abused me so that's battle. Okay. Okay. Would you write a statement on saying what happened? I'm not listen I'm not getting involved with y'all. We handle that ourselves. We're two growning men. We don't need to be policed. We don't need to be controlled. We are not in preschool. We're two grown men. I appreciate I handle my business like I was supposed to. I appreciate your your opinion on the matter, but he has a different opinion. Okay. Okay. And whatever his opinion is, if he wants to write down stuff for y'all, then he can. I don't have to do that. I'm not getting involved with y'all. I'm telling you what you want to know, okay? I played with you, but I'm not getting out of my car. I'm not writing nothing down. I All I had to do was deal with him. That was my problem. I dealt with it and that's it. Okay. There any weapons in the vehicle? Any guns, knives, anything like that? I am a spiritual being. I don't do no smoking, no drinking. I don't need no guns. I don't need nothing. It's just a yes or no. I just want to know if you got any weapons in the car. That's all I know. No drugs, no guns, no alcohol, no nothing. Okay, perfect. That's all I'm asking. You from Virginia? Yes, sir. What brings you down here? I'm camping. My son and I retired and we came down here for peace. You retired military? I I was in the military, but I What branch is in the military? Navy. Navy. Well, thank you for your service. Thank you. How many years you spent in the Navy? I was in two years and I ran a business. I ran several business for 16 years. I real I had a commercial cleaning business and a landscape and lawn care business. I go on a spiritual journey. Okay. This is the type of that I'm dealing with. So, I got I got nothing against your spiritual journey, man. I deal with all this stuff. I dealt with the problem. I already fixed that. If he ain't man enough to do that for himself, that's his problem. Okay. If he wants to run around cussing at people and being mad at people because he can't that little baby can't have his way, then he gets Rather than filing a report, the man begins a long- winded monologue about spiritual identity and sovereign citizenship. Okay. Well, that's not always the way the law is, though. You understand that, right? And let me tell you something about your law. If you go back and actually study your law, none of these laws actually they have expired. They the the statute of limitations on all American laws have already expired in 20 years from 1776. And and and furthermore, how are we as citizens on land operating in maritime law? Okay, partner, let me go ahead and step out of the vehicle for me. I'm not getting out of my name, sir. What did I do? Can I get your name, sir? I told I gave you my ID. You got my ID. This is what we're going to do. We're going to get you out of the car. We're going to talk to him. Get his side of the story. I got a guy to call. Look, I'm not going to because you guys are going too far with this. You're going too far. I am not doing anything to anybody. I'm trying to be cordial. We're trying to be cordial. What you What you want to do is control me. I'm not going to let you do that. I'm going to sit right here. I am talking to both of you like who are you? Yes, sir. That's against the law. Okay. It's against my law for me to be talked to like he talked to me and I follow universal law which trumps all this mess that y'all got going on here. So like I said, you don't have no jurisdiction over me. You are on my earth and if I decide to do something about it, I can right now. Look, when I when you need to understand what this is and you need to understand who I am, you need to understand that I have a power that I can use right now on both of you if you don't stop messing with me. We're not I'm not You are threatening me. You're telling me you can by law I can do this. Well, by my law I have the right to do this. We're asking you please make it easier on everybody. We get this out. Why do I have to do Why do I have to get out of my vehicle? I'm not If I'm in my vehicle, you I'm safe. Everybody's safe. You crime that you committed. Despite multiple requests, he continues to sit in the vehicle and refuses to comply with the officer's commands. I told you that I'm with you. Okay. Yes. So, we're investigating this. So, we need you to step out. Okay. Is this your son back here? Yes, it is. Completely cordial. Everything's being good. Okay. He's fine. Why won't y'all let him get in? There's no reason. We're trying to get you out. We're not going to let him get in. Why do I need to get out? If you're not under arrest, why do I need to get out? Because there's a possibility of you being under arrest. Why do y'all have to arrest me? Battery. We're committing battery. So, but we have to investigate that. and you doing the way you're doing it is making it more difficult for us. This is going to be more difficult for you. You're here on vacation. We're just trying to we're trying to work a way through it. Okay? Listen guys, listen. Hey, there's no listening. Just just be cordial. Step out the vehicle and let's figure this out. Okay? One thing I want y'all to understand is I don't I'm not going to jail over some of that petty. If if two men in the street can't handle their business, if he if he's big enough to run his mouth to anybody he runs into and can just say whatever he wants to say out of his mouth, there's consequences for that. Okay? He suffered the consequences and if y'all get in the way of his judgment, you bring it on yourself and I'll get out. What you're doing is bringing it on yourself because you're getting involved in. Eventually, officers are forced to escalate. As they move in to detain him, the man physically resists. If you wouldn't mind stand right here by him. Okay. What I want you to do is turn around. Put your hands back. Look. Look. You don't have to do all of that. People away from me. Behind your back. This is for this. Okay. Back up. Back up. [Music] Go ahead and ta. Put your hands behind your back. Put your hands behind your back right now. Right now. Put your hands behind your back. I'm not doing anything. Don't you tense up on me or we're going to the ground. Do you understand? I got it. Are you doesn't think that much? This is just messed up for you. I didn't touch either one of y'all. Listen, we gave you the opportunity to go nice and peacefully. You want to resist. You want to pull away. This is what happened. I did not pull away from you. You absolutely did. Now you're catching additional charge. You're going to be placed under arrest for battery day as well as resist officer. You understand that? supposed now. Go ahead and search him for what? I don't have any pocket. You're going to jail. Okay. So, you're getting search for what? I don't have pockets. Doesn't matter. It clearly does. Stand up against the car. Don't move. Or what? Or what? I'm genuinely asking. Or what? Have a seat. When it comes to your soul, I hope you know it's mine. Okay, great. Fantastic. Is it the sun ran up on us? Did Yeah. Good. I heard I heard tasing. Tasing. Tasing. Even while restrained, he keeps arguing, claiming he was never a threat. And I was like, I see him run up on our back. He ran up on his back. Whenever I went to grab him, he pulled back, closed his fist up at me. Whenever I went to grab him, he slung at me. So good. That's assault Lo, right? I don't think he definitely going for resistance. It's not solid hill yet. Yeah. Yeah. You can definitely smell it. I just can't believe he just We were trying to be I tried to talk him out of it. You see, I tried. Dude, you're patient, man. Yeah. Well, I wanted to step out while you check. Yeah. Got knives all in there. Got knives all in here. Hey, Sergeant. I'm going to check his make sure they're all double locked up and too. He says one of them's too tight. So, you wouldn't mind. All right. Thank you. I appreciate you. Just around to let me double check it for you. All right. Which one's tight one? He said this one. Yeah. All right. Let it I'm going to let it come back a couple clicks. Is that better? All right. And let me double check this one. How's that one for you? That one. All right. Okay. Okay. All right. Hold tight one thing. All right. Is that better? Okay. He wasn't he wasn't getting out car. He wasn't doing this. He wasn't doing by our laws like he's sovereign. Yeah, that's what I was saying. Um put Junior in here with me. Yep. 217. Where are they going? We're going to Las Vegas Trail. All right. You already search him down. Yep. All right. All right, we'll check real quick. Anyone smoke, stick, and stab me? Anything stick and stab me? No. All right. Walk over here to the driver side of the car. Okay. How tall are you, my man? 63. You're about 6'5, 66. I'm 6'2. But his decision to resist sealed the outcome. Now he's cuffed and headed to jail. All right, slide on in for me right there. Okay. I know it's going to be a tight fit cuz you're taller. I apologize for the fit. Good. I know it's not cozy. All right. Seat belt's optional. You want a seat belt or no? How about you, sir? Seat belt or no? Okay. All right. Sit back with me. All right. They're going on a spiritual journey, he said. Is that what he said? Yeah, that's what you can stand over there. They're going Meanwhile, the other party involved shares his side to the story. What's up, man? I was turning in to go get something. I went to go turn off the bridge to take a ride, right? Um, this guy cut me off. Um, I tried to go around him, get away from him. Um, he followed me here. I turned in here. Um, used my blinkers the whole time. And I noticed he was using his blinkers the whole time. He followed me. I went through the drive-thru. I was looking at somebody. He got on the other side. He said, "I'm going to teach you 58 some manners, blah blah blah, and I'm going to get you and then here and proceed to get out of the vehicle and just Did you ever get out of your car?" Okay. My seat belt on. Okay. You got your ID on you? Do you want to pursue charges on him for battery? Oh, we've got him. Yeah. I want The man is ultimately placed under arrest for battery and resisting. Number two, entitled couple picks the worst car to mess with. An unmarked cop. While driving in an unmarked vehicle, Sergeant Diaz from the Orange County Sheriff's Office is suddenly cut off on the highway by an aggressive driver with no regard for road safety.
