She's not held in jail, but is instead issued a complaint summon which requires her to appear in court at a later date. Number four, she tries to steal and gets shut down on the spot. You know that busted moment caught midwipe like a kid sneaking snacks? That's exactly what happens here when this woman gets nailed for shoplifting. Yeah. Okay. Hold on. My underwear and everything. There you go. Come back in. Oh man. Oh man. Oh man. Oh, they needed to come back in a beep on your way out. Open your back, please. Yeah, you didn't beep coming in. That's why. Open your purse, please. Open. You're not going to open your purse. Mhm. You take that out, please. Could you give me my shirt, please? Thank you. Don't come back. Don't come back. Please. I see why he didn't buy you. She's quickly shown the door and the whole thing gets handled right then and there. No drama, no backup. Not today, Becky. Number three, Walmart heist attempt ends in total failure. Police respond to a Walmart in Georgia after a woman is caught trying to leave the store with two full carts of unpaid merchandise. Security intervenes before she exits and officers are called to investigate radio. I sure hope so. I think so. It's hard. I can't really see. Yeah. She's in the office. Thank you. She have so much stuff. Okay. You think the amount? Okay. What's wrong with your face? So, okay. So far, this and what's inside is all that's been paid for. Okay. So, she's paid for this, you say? Okay. Yeah, that's that's receipt. This for t-shirts and stuff. And then I'm figuring out what's what's on this receipt. But Okay. So, this is your This is for the t-shirts right here. And then I got the sunglasses right here on this one. Okay. Says t-shirts and that, but this hasn't been paid for. No. Okay. All right. Hello, ma'am. How are you? Um, just want to find out, you know, uh, what's going on? Why Why am I here today? I don't know, honestly. Like, I'm watching them pull things out that I did not that I took out, sat on the counter, and left and then was like in the cart. And this is like third or fourth time that I've had issues with them that by the end of it they were like, "Oh, my bad." So, okay. Well, first of all, what's your name? Tiffany. Tiffany. I'm I'm Officer Fields. I'm with Roswell Police Department. This officer Curry. Okay. Um, okay. So, explain to me what's going on. So, you came to Walmart. What were you doing here? What'd you come for? Winter clothing for my brother, his friends, and my boyfriend. Okay. So, you came for some winter clothing for my notice there's a lot of shades in there. Um, they were $150. They're all on their seat. Okay. And then, um, so talk to me about the shelving cuz that was not on officers and store employees quickly spot discrepancies between the woman's receipts and the items in her carts. This I have to receive my family. I'm telling you, there's seven things showing hang up. Okay. Like, so why do they think you stole it? Yeah. I don't know. They have an embedding against me or something. Okay. Like genuinely. Well, they have they have real people out here that genuinely walk in here. Take So, what are they why are they telling us you stole this stuff today? Mhm. I guess that's what they feel. Okay. But I didn't even walk out the door. So, it's like they stop you right here. Yeah. On the other side. Okay. On side. Yeah. I was only here so long because like my car had a flip. Your car? So they waited until my roadside got here to inform me that I could myself. Do you do you have your receipt for all So you have receipt for everything here? Yeah. Am I pretty sure? I thought I did. Okay. One shelf. This has six right here. Six. Seven. Okay. It says add to cart. Do you have where you paid for it? This is where I pay for it. The receipts right here. This is just so you can see the images and see that I'm not Okay. So, let's go. Sunglasses. Is that the receipt they have out here? Yeah, they have two receipts for All right. Um, platform part. Where's the shelving at? Cuz they're going through each and every item. Yeah. Shelf storage. Sorry about that. At 1414. Shelf storage. Six at one. Yeah. And then there's one below it. White clearance or whatever. SC. This is like the third or fourth time. We caught her doing this today. Just happened to actually stop her. First time she tried to walk out with over $700 worth of stuff. But they prevented her and she walked out the other side just abandoned everything. Then another time was like a week ago where I stopped knocking. They begin questioning her further, hoping to get clarity and ideally a confession in what appears to be a textbook case of skip scanning. I want to understand if I would if there's video and I look at video, am I going to see you taking anything or doing anything wrong and I I go about my business. I take these out at the register if I can't hold them like you're not checking. The last two times that they did this, I was like there was me some paper and went inside and spent no issues. Okay. Um that is not the case. Okay. Okay. It's okay. So, um, have has there been any reports filed on this before for you? There's been no Can I see your phone, ma'am, with the receipt? They are duplicates of what they have. Okay. Because, you know, we should all have the same thing underneath. Okay. When you use Walmart pay, so you're saying a dup this is a duplicate of this cuz the times are different that I have. The times are different on here. He has two different seats. Um, I have seven shelves. Okay. Um, so how long roughly have you been at Walmart? Like two two hours. Okay. So, okay. I know 90%. We're going to compare it. We're going to try and figure this out. Go through it. Once we figure it out, we'll go from there. Correct. Mhm. Um, have you been stopped like before for this? Mhm. Yeah. Okay. I mean, they said last time you was here, you dropped off stuff and went out the the other door to get away from them. That didn't happen. They might be confusing me with someone else, but I promise you that did not happen. Okay. I wasn't here. I don't know. They got They My phone died. They want to see your receipt, right? So, I'm like, "All right, let me charge my phone. I'll be right back." I come back, they put up they won't give it to me. They won't give me a return. So they're dealing with me at that point. Okay. You know, you talk with corporate about that. The investigation confirms that several items weren't scanned at all or were rung up using cheaper barcodes, but instead of owning up to it, she offers this excuse. Attempted to kind of go off. Okay. Yeah. And then So why do you keep coming back here if if they if they're still in front of you? Tragically, I live around the corner and this is the cheapest place to get stuff and I take care of my grandma. So, I understand. Okay. So, are are they they're going through all this stuff. Are are they going to find anything? Cuz it'll save you some time and me some time. They're not going to find anything that I intentionally would have taken. The girls scanned all that stuff and did a a suspended transaction. And I mean, is there anything in that stuff that is going to not show up on those receipts that you provided? No, you don't seem too very confident when you say that. Okay. So, I know y'all don't know, but like scan and go, right? You scan it, you go have people check it, go about your business, takes it off your card, right? Mhm. Once you have an issue or whatever, you transfer it to the register. Yes, ma'am. Sometimes it doesn't all transfer through correctly. Okay. So you're sometimes it does and it's like something that I've been like actually like have like spoke with them about so like I guess you seem like you don't know if they're going to find something or not. They should not. But like I'm saying is that scan and go this is that I had before was that the machine might give it the machine did something. It didn't have everything on there. Okay. So I went around and paid for it because it was intentional to be paid for. You know, I've scanned it on the phone, he said. And he was like, "Oh, yeah. I watched you scan." And I was like, "Okay, great." Was it like uh you at the self-s serve lane? No, but you do it all on like your phone. Okay. I don't know. I don't I don't Is it like an app like the Walmart app or something? Okay. All right. Show me. Shopping or whatever. And you go uh see do your view. He's got it in his hand. I'm looking at Yeah. Okay. So, we have all the images. So, can you So, scan and go. She claims the store's app malfunctioned and continues to insist she did nothing wrong. If I was a Cuz you've got pictures on there of everything that you've purchased. Yeah. If I was to take that and compare it to the items out there, am I going to see the same items that are listed on your phone? Yeah, I should. I should assume so. Yes, you should have seen. Okay. For one, I mean, I know things can help and feel like they're in real life setting me up and I don't know what for. Let's not worry about them. We're trying to get to the bottom. Okay. I'm trying to understand things, you know. Yeah. I'm Uhhuh. Okay. So, you see there's four of these. Four of these. Uh, three. Three. Uh-huh. Those are the jeans she just pulled out. Okay. Can I see? Cuz you had a bunch of shades. Did you Did you put the shades in here? Yeah, I did. Let me see all the shades. Two of this one, one of this one. This one, one of this one, one of this one, two of this one, one of this one. All right. So, you see two two. All right. So, how come, for example, so here you see this says $3 and there's no add to cart. Why does this still say add to cart? I'm just trying to understand cuz I don't use the app. So, I'm just trying to get you to explain this to me. In case you want to buy it again, maybe they do have that. It'll say, you know, buy again on items. But, uh, is there a um history on here? Okay. So, here's the actual receipt. It just shows. Okay. And what's the date on this? Is the date for today? Okay. 112. Okay. And this is at uh 114, right? But employees aren't buying it. They're convinced it was all intentional, especially since this isn't her first time pulling this trick. These are more than one piece. What is the bargain? Is it right here? No, these are different. Oh, okay. 14.97. She got six, but she probably scanned them the short ones for all of these together. It's called ticket switching when you scan the cheaper item. So, that came up. So, you scan that six times instead of scanning all of these in. How much are these? That's 14.97. That's uh these are 541 56. That's this one right here. So So you guys are just verifying to see what she has paid for, what she has not, and then we'll get the training receipt. Yeah. Okay. Now, is everything rang up correctly? You didn't double ring something for something else? That kind of thing? Like you didn't take the small shelves so has a cheaper price and use that for the big shelves for the higher price? I think all the shelves are supposed to be the same. You think they are? Or do you know? Well, you have the app there. What does it say there? Well, I didn't. I'm just saying for instance um you know they were all supposed to be four tier plastic shelves you know so okay I'm going assume they should have all been the same so it's looking like the two little shelving units that we got right there on the receipt they say she bought six of them for about 90 bucks in total but in reality she only got two of them and then of use those for the price and and and then she had the bigger ones for the price of them u well yeah well she scanned these So these are like 15 bucks a pop and those are like $40. They're think sixish. Staff then began tallying up the total value of the unpaid merchandise. Um does it all go in there? So that's what that's what they're verifying. So I think they went through they found all this stuff that she had paid for. They verified on her receipts and now they're going to go scan all this stuff on the training receipt to get an itemized list and price of everything before and after taxes. And that way we'll get a lower amount. So all these are for sure is what she had not paid for or she was trying to to do. Okay. You show me the pending three. It depends. So the game with with with Georgia code section you have misdemeanor and felony. Some of it depends on dollar amount. It depends on the crime. So shoplifting is anything 500 in total and up is felony. But if it's just like Yeah.$100 whatever. Yeah. If it's like 100 bucks for if it's just junk. It's just and it's a lot easier for us and for the course system it's this you didn't get this and it it's going to it's going to be more hassle unfortunately to do all this stuff. Yeah. Going to custody and going to jail. Um like it's just you're you're more you're I don't know. I don't I don't understand it. You're going to save yourself a lot more headaches as far as going coming here dealing with us. No one wants to talk to us and we we understand that especially if you out here you know Yeah. Yeah. potentially committing crime. I don't want to talk to us. That's right. All the stress and headache and everything like that and going to court. I want to talk to y'all. I cuss them all out. Yeah. Last night we had to have a daughter to do it. Oh, I was we got here last night. No, you didn't come first. Did he go? We got the customer walking out the door. What are those? Stick on the back of your phone. Business card holder. What kind of business she doing? After scanning everything, they reveal just how much she tried to walk out with through skip scanning. Make me look bad up here. I'm about to go back. I ain't going to do that. Um, put this inside the pocket right here for me. $9.91. What? How much was it? $9.9132. I need two receipts. That's before taxes, right? No, that's after tax. After tax. Okay. Before tax, it was 920. I posted 920. Yeah. So, we need to go pay the number. Okay. Give me your dollar cuz it only cost a dollar to play. I I don't have any money. You crazy. Okay. So, if I win, you won't you going to want your dollar. I'll I'll split it. I'll split it with you. So I get 15, you get 15. Yeah. So um they've heard something about 38 or something. So 38 and then financial fraud on 850 Woodstock Road. But she's not wanted. No, that's the M. We're just checking to see if she has $920. And that's the stuff she didn't pay for. That's the stuff she did not pay for. That's the stuff they just did right there. So I watched them. They doing everything. They're getting training receipt. Okay. It was 920 before tax. You want me to just confirm again on the if there's No, they said 10. We're fine. That's a felony amount. She's got to come to us. Okay. So, we got to go get warrants. Um then we'll send it off. Okay. All right, ma'am. Yeah. I'd like to know about that. About what? The financial thing that Well, we don't know. Just saying when we check if your name came up for something like that. It'll have us all the details. Okay. It's showing $920. That was not fake. There's no way. Like that's what we're showing right now. The officer was there when they spent the show. And this is all the stuff that was not paid for. Yes. Officers confront the suspect with all the evidence. But instead of taking responsibility, she shifts the blame on to Walmart employees. This is what they're showing. Hey, man. All right. How I mean so how could I if you've paid for it they see they all that stuff you went through they had your receipts your two receipts right you only had two right right they went through all that stuff and took out what you paid for okay and then this is what was left over so how prior to this when I was walking out the door I was in a line with an employee and she scanned the stuff in. So you're saying she scanned all this? Yep. So then as I'm going to pay for it, something on their end, nothing to do with me. Yep. It suspended it. Yep. So we redo it again and she's like, "Okay, it's time for me to go on that day." And tosses me over there. And when they suspended it, why did you instead of leaving it, why did you leave it? I mean, why did you take it with you? I was intending to get it. My total was not that much for for certainly not that much. It doesn't make sense. Not even on like some crybaby doesn't take accountability. I'll take accountability for things I've done, but like not for things I haven't done. All right. Well, here's what's gonna happen. Okay. You have to come with us. Why? Because they're pressing charges against you. Okay. They're placing you under arrest. Is that correct? Yes, sir. They're placing you under arrest for shoplifting. If you're claiming you've paid for all this, you'll have your receipts. You'll go to court and you'll you'll you'll discover in court. Okay. They'll be there in court with you along with us. Okay. I mean, unless you can prove that you've paid this, show bank accounts, show your, you know, something. But they're claiming that after all the stuff they went through and the receipts that they have on copy, but you claim that they have, this is what's left over. I don't know what I don't have that suspend receipt. I don't have any of that. So, like, well, who's the employee that helped you? What was her name? Or is it his name? I don't know. She left at 2:00. Despite her continued protest, she's placed under arrest and issued a criminal trespass warning, officially banning her from returning to that Walmart location. Yeah. So, if we know Okay. How do you know that? Because that's why she tossed me on to someone else. That's why I'm saying she said, "I'm getting off it, too. Go somewhere else." Basically. Yeah. That's why I'm saying like it's not an isolated event. It's like purposefully being done. Mhm. You want to stand up for us? Is there like seriously like no like other option here? No, ma'am. It's a felony amount. If it was misdemeanor amount, I'd probably cut you a ticket, but I can't. What is it? Like what is a felony? Anything over $500, that's taken. Okay. Is that okay? What do we do this stuff here? Uh that stuff. Do you have anything on you? Um illegal. Turn around, man. Do you have anybody who can pick up the stuff that you just paid for? No. Okay, then we'll just refund it to you. Just stand there for me, man. Okay. All right. So, Tiffany, um, Walmart is wanting a criminal trespass warning. Okay, Tiffany. All this is saying that you can't come back here. Okay. You can go to a Walmart in Canton, Woodstock, wherever it is. You can't come back to this specific Walmart. Okay. Normally, we would have you sign it. Obviously, you're uncuffed. We're not going to go through the trouble again to uncuff you. So you can sign it. We're just letting you know. You nodded your head, you acknowledge it. So that way you'll have your copy, the store will have theirs, and then we'll have a one for our records. Okay. You acknowledge this uh criminal trespass warning. Yeah. Can you nod your Thank you. Okay. So So that's it. So all it is is So the white copy that goes to radio. Okay. Curry will tell you where to put that. Um the yellow copy is business copy. I'll go to give it to them. That way they have their paper copy, their record. And the pink copy is hers. Most people ball it up and throw it away cuz they don't want it. But I would since you are guys since you guys are taking her to jail, you can just put it in there with the rest of her phone and other stuff like that because I mean it's it it doesn't mean anything to them really. Okay. Show it to her and we can get on camera. Officers then process the merchandise, ensure her paid items are refunded, and begin preparing the necessary paperwork. Get in your pink wallet. Thank you. Okay. You want to watch us put it in? Well, you refunded uh everything back to the other cards and stuff as well. Yeah. And you got some um other cash in here ready from earlier. All right. So, your money is in there in your cart. Okay. We'll give that stuff to you. All right. She's taken to jail and the case is marked as felony theft by shoplifting. Number two, repeat offender at Walmart finally faces legal action. A woman is detained at a Walmart after returning to the store just days after previously shoplifting. Officers arrive and begin questioning the woman. You have the right to an attorney. You have the right to have the attorney present while you are being questioned. If you can't afford an attorney, one will be provided for you without cost if you so desire. You may exercise those rights at any time and not make any statements or answer any questions. Do you understand that? Okay. So, walk me through what happened with the frames. I just took them because I needed money. We have nowhere to live. Okay. We just live. What day did that happen on? I just he was the 15th. The 15th. Okay. I am. So that would have been what? Thursday. Okay. So you don't have an ID in this bag? Yes. Anything with your name on it? No. But you have a Washington state ID. I haven't got it yet, sir. No. You You must have had some kind of ID. Cuz here's the thing. I mean, unless I can identify you here, I'm going to have to take you to jail cuz then they'll identify you through fingerprints, right? Yeah, I just I feel like he's letting me know. You don't. Okay. What's your last name? I'm very flexible. Okay. You don't have to go to jail, but you need to tell me the truth. Tell me the truth. I am going to go to Is it Did you kill somebody? Is it a major warrant with a high bail? I think I don't know. I got released and I went to rehab, but I didn't check in. Mhm. We didn't check in with D. Oh, okay. Because my car that I got to check 12 I'm going to I don't know. What's the phone number for you? I'm going to have her search you though. Yeah, I'm I know this is about an address. Who has the keys to the U-Haul? You do? I was holding on baby. You know what I'm saying? Sorry. She attempts to justify her actions, explaining how difficult her life has been and how she's had no choice but to steal, but the officers aren't convinced. I'm not just saying that it happened. You know, it wasn't intentional. I mean, I know I lost car. I had to stay with him. He's sleeping in the street. Somebody stole a car and everything. Yeah. I'm going to check I'm staying with him. Okay. I'm staying with him. Yeah. Go ahead and take the check the picture. Got to make sure. No, I'm just saying I've been locked up before. So, yeah. Usually I go to jail. I usually go to jail. I don't know. I have to run you first. But she's going to patch it down. H. Do you have to run me? I do. But I still like No, I don't. You already stole the things though. So, you guys got the merchandise before she left. Well, she went to try to return it as well. So, she loaded bags full. We were watching her. Then, she went right to the service desk, passed through the registers. Yeah. Um, and we denied that return as well. That wasn't No, I didn't do I return. I never been to station. My ID. Sorry. I have an ID. I went to go to station. Yeah, you did. Yeah. If you can stand up, please. She's going to She's going to search you. Make sure you don't have anything on you.
