They stormed in thinking they'd walk all over everyone. The cops had other plans. Here are five cases when cops humiliate Karens. Number five. This is what happens when your bank account can't save you from the truth. Officers respond to a call about a woman refusing to pay her bar tab and allegedly pushing a bartender at a cafe. Here's what happens next. Hello. Hi, miss. Hi. Is your name Ava? Yes. You coming? You coming from the bar tonight? Yes, I I am. Can you stay in your car? Okay. You want to lower your radio for me? So, do you have your driver's license on you? You don't have any guns or anything in your purse, do you? Guns? No guns? No, sir. Okay. So, where are you coming from tonight? I just came here from the restaurant. You were where? Over here at the restaurant. The the restaurant over here. Okay. Uh Angry Moon Cafe. You were in the Angry Moon Cafe? Yes. Were you in a cigar bar? Yes, I was. You were? Yes, I was. Okay. And uh there were some people that uh wanted me to leave there because uh I shouldn't tell you that, but um man, it's my partner right here. He's going to stay with you, man. Meanwhile, the bartender explains how Eva's demeanor changed at the cafe. Raise right hand for him. I swear to you, you're going to tell me everything the truth. None but the truth. I swear. Okay. Cuz you're on camera. That's why we have to be here. So, tell me what happened tonight. Okay. So, um she came in. It's hard for me to gauge exactly what time. I want to say about 5. She's here for 2 hours now. Mhm. And uh she comes in. She's very polite. She seems absolutely sober and completely fine. Six. So, she ordered a Chardonnay for me. I brought it out. Everything was normal. She ordered another Just give me one second. So, so she came in around 5. Um, yeah, she came in around 5:00 and she ordered a Chardonnay. Everything's fine. Uh, a little while later, she got another one from me and then she went into the door. She asked for my assistance. We picked out a car. She mentioned that she was a little expensive, whatever. I could already tell I was starting to read a little bit of a vibe off of her, but for no particular reason. Um, she had told me that she was waiting for her friend to come. Then she ends up coming inside. She sits with another woman. And then eventually the friend shows up. They have a couple more drinks. She had four total over the span of like 2 and 1/2, 3 hours maybe, which she seemed fine until she wasn't. And then I saw her walk into the humidor and ask one of the guys that was inside for something. It seemed like she was trying to basically get him to pay her bill. She was trying to negotiate some sort of deal. I'm not sure. So I told her it's policy that when we leave, I'm changing shifts. Naturally, I would close everybody's tab and I would go. So I asked her, you know, at least if she couldn't do that, could I have a card or something to keep on file? She's like, no, don't worry about it. if this other guy is going to pay for my tab. No, he's not. Um, I knew him. I knew that was not happening. Things escalated when she began asking other patrons to cover her tab and became confrontational when staff asked her to pay the bill. The friend, did she come in? She seems very intoxicated right now. Did she come in intoxicated? Like, no, she didn't seem intoxicated at all. Cuz like it's like you can really really smell it on there. say uh I have to say it felt like zero to 100. It seemed like she came in, she was fine. I didn't interact with her that much and then hours passed and I mean yes, four glasses of wine, sure, but over the course of two and a half, three hours isn't outrageous for most people. So I don't really know when that happened. When she started getting aggressive and everything, she started, you know, she was in my face a little bit when I was asking her to pay the bill. So, you want to pay it? So, let me Yeah. Um, let me ask you this question. Sure. What do you want us to do here tonight? Do you want her to pay the tab and you want her trespassed? Pretty much it. Yeah. Okay. Cuz dispatch said you were, you know, you were staying away from her. She She to me seems like she shouldn't even be behind the wheel in her car. She's I couldn't agree more. She also did push me and hit me on the way out of the doorway. Okay. So, what would you like to do about that? Honestly, as long as she's not able to come back here, that is that's really on us. And for the bill to be paid, I think it's like $55 or something. That's not her tab's $55. Yes. So, let me We'll see if we can get her her tab settled and then we'll deal with her on the traffic. Thank you. That would be ideal for me. So, all right. Let me write this down for for you. Appreciate that. Get this back to you. Back at the vehicle, officers tell Eva about her remaining unpaid bill that she needs to settle to avoid a petty theft charge. Hello. Rough night tonight. No, not at all. Oh, okay. All right. These these guys want to Hey, listen. All right. You still got a $50 bill in there. You got to pay. All right. Do you have a credit card or cash? You can pay for it. Of course I do. Well, if you don't own them, it's misdemeanor petty theft. We don't want to do that. Okay. Yeah, of course I do. I I own my rent. Okay. All right. Miss uh Eva Brink. It's Eva. Eva. Yes. All right. Ya, do you still live on Swan Beach? Yes, I do. Okay. Is that where you're going to head to? Uh, no. I'm going to go to my boyfriend's place. Okay. Where does he live? Uh, he lives on uh right over here. Uh um uh gosh. Um Michael, you just dropped something over there. Um it's uh you just bought a place over Yeah. Over here. Just over here. Yeah. Okay. So, you were hanging out here at Angry Moon. Yes. I was meeting my girlfriend over here. Uh she wanted to come up here and that's where I met her. Okay. Uh is this the only place that you went to or did you go somewhere else before this? So yes, I did. I w I walked right over there but it was too busy so I walked over here. You went to Carmines? Yes, I did. Okay. But this this was the only place that you were drinking at? Yes. Correct. What did you have to drink in there? Uh Chun. Okay. I see if I can get a receipt. Due to signs of intoxication and because she was found in the driver's seat, a DUI officer steps in to conduct a field sobriety test. Itemized. Um, Chardonnay, how many of them? Uh, I had one, two, and maybe three when we got to the But I had two outside. So, you had two outside and then two inside? No, only one inside. Just one inside. So, you had three total? Yes. Okay. How do you feel right now? Do you feel all right? I'm okay. Yes. On a scale of 1 to 10, one being stone cold sober and 10 being drunk, where do you think you're at? Um, I'm pretty stone cold sober because what you just did me through, I'm pretty stone cold sober. Yes. I didn't do anything. I didn't put you through. No, no, no. But what what the other officers here? So, there was a disturbance here. They called in, said you were trying to skip out on your tab, that you pushed somebody and that you stormed out and they were worried that you were intoxicated. Okay. So, my concern is I'm a DUI officer. Those those other officers, they handled all that initial complaint. Um, I'm here because they witnessed you behind the wheel as you are right now. And in the state of Florida, this is called actual physical control where you have the ability to drive the vehicle. Okay? And we also believe we also believe as officers that you're also intoxicated. Okay. So that's my that's me expressing the concern. That's why I'm now here. Okay. So I want to make sure that's not the case. All right. So I would like to do some standardized field sobriety exercises with you. Okay. So let's go ahead and hop out. We'll come back over here. Um we'll go. You see that open area right there? We'll go over there so there's no traffic. Watch your step. Yeah. Watch. Watch. Coming down. We'll go right over here. Um, escort her so I can turn my camera. Ask you something. Sure. Good. You said you want to ask something? No, I I understand why this is happening. Let me just um let me turn on Let's see how she handles the sobriety test. Okay. So, once again, you know, I expressed the concern that you're under the influence. You weren't actual physical control of the vehicle as observed by this officer over here. I understand exactly what's happening right here. Okay. So, yeah, I'd like to do some standardized field sobriety exercises. All right. I understand exactly what's happening here. Okay. I get everything what's happening over here. Okay. So, do you have any medical condition with your eyes not corrected by glasses? Uh yes, I do have a problem with my eyes. What is it? Uh I I I don't see correctly. Okay. So, that would be corrected by glasses. Correctly. Yes. Okay. Any any other issue with your eyes besides that? Uh I don't see uh uh I don't see. Do you wear contact lenses? No, but I don't see uh correctly. So I I mean you're asking me correctly? I'm asking you honestly. I don't see uh Well, I'm saying besides for for having to wear contact lenses or glasses any because that's correctable. Yeah. I don't see uh correctly close up. Okay. All right. Do you have any medical condition which prevent you from walking a straight line? No. Do you have any medical condition which preventing you from balancing on quit? I don't think so. All right. Perfect. So, if you would just go and stand right here in front of me. Mm- right here. Right where I'm pointing. Why I'm saying that? No. No. We're not We're ignoring that line. That line doesn't exist. We're not doing anything with that line. Just go ahead and stand right here in front of me. Why? Cuz I got to check your eyes out here. I'm not We're not using No, no, no. I'm sorry. The land is over here. Wait a minute. Time out. Are you Are you conducting these exercises or am I conducting? I tell you're participating. I'm conducting. The land is over here. Okay. Okay. But we're not worried about this line. Actually, Miss Eva, come over here. No, the land. You're grown up. No. Why would I be You're grown up. Come here. Sorry. Come over here. Listen to simple instructions. Okay. Instead of cooperating, Eva resists even the simplest instructions and reacts like this. You're going to stand right in front of me with your feet together and your hands at your sides. Just like this. Hands at your sides. At your sides and behind your back. At your sides like this. I have my stance on my sides. No, they're back. I I know exactly what you're looking for. And I have a lot of people in the government. That's very interesting. Anyway, go ahead and place your hands at your sides for me, please. I have my stands on my sides. No, they're behind your back. Just learn your words an awful lot. All right. I have a lot of people in the government, so I know exactly what you're doing. That's cool. You see this red light? I want you to follow this red light. Put your hands down. I want you to follow this red light with your eyes only. Okay? Do not move your head. You understand me? Yeah. Don't move your head. Don't move your head. Don't move your head. Don't move your head. You're moving your head. Please don't move your head. All right. Do you do you understand when I when I say don't move your head? Do you know what that means? I understand what you're talking to me, but I have a lot of people in the government as well. Okay. So, we need to talk. As if the threats weren't enough, she escalates things even further. No, we don't. No, we need to stop. So, you see this red light? Yeah. Follow with your eyes only. Do not move your head. Okay. Don't Don't touch me. Don't Don't grab my partner. Put your hands on him. Okay. One more chance. I'll give you one more chance. Give her one more chance. Don't grab my partner right now. You put your hands on him. You need to put your hands down. All right, ma'am. Stop it. Through it all, the officers stay calm and professional. And just like that, she's in the back of the patrol car. [Applause] I'm just going to take the cuff off to uh take your watch off real quick. Okay. So, just keep your arm where it's at. You know how to undo that, Kayla? I have no idea. I know. I already did. Yeah. I don't think it goes any further. Does that stretch, ma'am? Yeah. Take this jacket off, too. Okay, while we're while we have it on. Turns out knowing people in government doesn't get you out of this one. Number four. Here's what happens when a rich Karen runs into someone who doesn't care. Deputies respond to a restaurant after staff report a rowdy group. Witnesses say a drunk man got physical during an argument, shoving a woman and causing enough concern for others to call for help from authorities. How you doing, man? How you doing, man? So, what exactly is going on? One of the managers here. So, we're here. How you doing? I guess I'm the bad guy here. Oh, just give us a minute. Yeah. What's going on here? They were drinking. I don't know their relationship. Uh the man started yelling at her. They put a hands on her. Okay. I made a complaint. Maybe I was coming out the bathroom. I think this guy's trying to make a statement with him. Um I'm sure he tried this deescalating machine. Uhhuh. Um after he left he then got more aggressive after he's kept drinking and he came over toward she started looking for protection from us and the guy came over and grabbing her. Mhm. So So the first like initial physical what occurred specifically between like them two. They were verbally abusing each other and then he shoved her. Okay. Shoved her. Okay, cool. I'm I'm going to talk to them real quick and then I'm going to see if we need to. She's also she's also a part of it. Yeah. Yeah. One of the women involved named Linda is visibly intoxicated and quickly becomes the center of attention. Excuse me, ma'am. So, so who are you to him? I'm Audrey. I don't know his name. Okay. So, um he was talking to my friend who's clearly drunk. Um I've been trying to get her to come out. Is this your friend? This is her. This is Linda. I've been trying to get her to come out, but she keeps drinking and she keeps yelling and drinking and yelling. Linda, my problem, you don't need to yell right now. Okay. And he was helping her fine. Ask everyone in the ball. I'm right here. Right. So, who is that? Who is that man? Hold on. Hold on. Mad. Have I been yelling? Can you talk to me? They've been yelling, not me. Can you get out of the sun, though? I can take two steps over here. I can't go that far, ma'am. I can't go that far. She's a controlling person. Fine. Okay. I I can talk to you. Nobody is going to step around you. Just hang out here. You're fine. So, who is that man to you? Who in the red? No, the dude with the um the floral t-shirt or the floral buttonup. Robert, who who is he to you? That's my gallery coordinator for my antique shop in my art gallery for 10 years. He married this little girl that um Doesn't matter. Answer these questions. That's all it is is Italian Irish people. That's how we act. Okay. That's where we find. All right. So, that man is just like a business partner partner to you. Correct. Okay. You don't live with him? No, I pay him to take me. Can I please ask you questions and you can just answer them like a normal person? If you point at me like that again, you're going to go to jail. You understand that? If you come over here like you're going to touch me, you're going to go to jail. Officers try to calmly gather facts from everyone, but Linda begins making incoherent statements and interjects frequently, making the situation more chaotic. Okay. I did not give you permission to do that. So, you need to control yourself. All right. I understand you guys have been drinking. I'm asking you questions. I'm conducting investigations. Death, my husband, my mother, my dog, and I'm trying to visit my h my kid and my wheel falls off again. I'm under extreme stress. Uhhuh. Well, you don't need to take that on on me, right? So, I'm trying to make sure that I cover my bases so that way we can get you guys out of here. Okay. But, um, so they're saying that that he grabbed you, he pushed you, he was pulling on you, anything like that. Okay. So, none of that was outside of your consent. That was true. He never even touched. Do you have your driver's license on you? He never touched me. Do you have your driver's license on? That boy is a a giant. You have your driver's license on you? Yes. I do have to go. You can just put your drink down the ground. You can just get your driver's license out of your bag. Or you can hand your your drink to her. No. Never. Well, can you hold it? I'll put it down. I don't want the ground. Unbelievable. I need your driver's license. So, what's your guys' plan after this? We're going. They're dropping the bloody car that the tires come off five times. This is a five times, right? We're taking it to tire plus, darling. Okay. Taking tire plus, right? And that boy decided to call the police. Uhhuh. Not that I have anything as police. Believe me, my family was pleased. I give chocolates to the police. When asked for her ID, she initially resists cooperation and stalls by juggling her drink and bag. And I I I appreciate you, you know, being police people and putting your life in danger. I'm like I appreciate that. I really I I'm going say I go I give a three tier chocolate thing. Everyone knows me. Okay, so just hang out over here. You can get in the shade or something. Don't come yelling at them. Don't come talking to anybody. Just give me a minute. I I didn't say you are. I just said not to. She struggles against the cups, complains about the tightness, and continues making dramatic emotional appeals. There's a reason probably why you don't leave your house. Yeah. And you know, I came to see my son and my my freaking tire came off a fifth time. I'm I'm stressing you. My daddy my husband. Please take that off of me. I can't breathe. I don't know how this ever happened, but I must say I must say this cannot happen. All right, Linda, we're going to have you step out. Hold on. You got to get the seat belt off.
