Good. >> Well, the reason I'm here is I'm looking for Randy. >> That's great. >> Is he here? >> I haven't heard from him in three days. I pushed him off. >> All right. They said I guess he's cut his ankle monitor off and he's supposed to be in the area. They wanted us to check here. Are you the only one here? >> No. Pops is here. >> Can you have Pops out? You live here or just >> Yeah. >> Can we look around just make sure he's not in there? Would that be all right? >> I talked to him. >> Yeah, I understand. Not a problem. >> I can. He's like so big. >> Super weird. >> Got a bear with us. So, we're going to have to move the dogs around. >> That's fine. Hey, come here for a second. >> Come in here. >> Huh? >> You can. This one's >> You ready for us? Okay. >> But let me talk to you for a second before we go in there. Come here and talk to me just a minute before we go in here. The homeowners give the green light for a search, but what officers uncover next is downright shocking. >> I've always been straight with you. He's always been straight with me. He's not easy. I don't want to cuz I don't want to see somebody get hurt. I don't want us to get hurt. I don't want him to get hurt. Something stupid happens. Okay. >> It's a dog. I swear to God, it's the dog. >> Okay. All right. He's not like hiding in a closet. We're not He's not armed, anything like that. Okay. All right. Anyone else in here other than two of you? >> Oops. Which Where's the dog? the rack the back room. >> Okay, >> it's Yeah, >> that's I am worried about that. >> So, where is he at with the dog? >> In the back room back there. So, we got to alternate if I give you guys the most of the house. >> We'll start this way first. Okay. >> Somebody told me that somebody ran out of my mom's old house when they showed up. Is that even true? Cuz you know how stuff gets >> Where at? >> Mom's old house. put on hel's daughter either. It was me that went and took pictures of the house. >> Oh, I didn't hear anything about that. >> So, >> okay. So, this way. >> Not really much. And then that back door right there. I guess he has probably got him. So, I'm sorry. I just don't know how he's not like it towards everybody. But >> officers weave through the tight packed space and soon uncovered the suspect hiding in one of the last places they expected. >> Is that where the dogs at? Quit >> quit. >> Oh, I forgot the 10 for we're getting ready to finish up. So, if he shows up, right, let us know. I mean, not trying to put that on you, but you know. Um, >> is he got problems? I mean, you guys on good terms. You said you pissed him off. show up in front, >> but that's just because I'm still waiting to go to this maternity house in Mount Vernon and everything and then it got put off cuz I had to go to Brian Baker first >> and it looked like I was making up and he thought I was just going to make another excuse not to go. So, >> okay. All right. Yeah. Well, apparently they think he's in the area. So, go ahead. I'll leave. >> There he is. Come on out of there, partner. Come on. Come on. Walk out, partner. Stop. >> Walk. Walker, you step on. We're going to bring you up. Come on. >> You're fine. >> Bring your leg up. Get stuck. Bring you up. You're >> fine. I'm not going to fight. >> Yep. Still for me. Close this door. You got anything on you? >> With the suspect in cuffs and ready for transport, the officers allow him a brief moment to say goodbye to his partner. >> Is that fine right there with your hoodie? Locked up. All right. Oh yeah, there's other officer probably coming in. >> You got it. Follow me. Okay. >> I got kicked out. I should have grabbed that jacket. She grabbed my jackets in there. Yeah, that's fine. Grab my ID and stuff. Yep. Yep. Just fall down. >> Follow this off. I'll get you through there. >> All right, Jordan. Thank you cigarettes. I'm not going to need them. They're not going to let me get. >> Now that his final words are said and the situation is under control, the officers move forward with the arrest. >> Far close. Are you close? Yeah, that's mine. This look only reason cuz it's got a letter. There's a my ID and all that stuff is in it's got numbers. She can keep the jacket to keep her code or keep one. You can go through it. I promise you. >> No, you're fine. I was just making sure before I give it to you. >> It's right on my Got my social. Yeah. >> Yep. Sorry. Apologize for it. I'm glad you didn't do anything. You know, I told her I don't want to see anybody do anything silly. Make things worse. Hey, the uh the the ankle monitor is not in here, is it? Okay. On May 5th, 2024, officers were dispatched to a parking lot after reports of a dog left inside a hot vehicle. With temperatures rising, time was critical. The officers knew they needed to act fast. There we go. Come on. Can you come out? Come out. Come on. Come on. Come on. Can you fit it? There we go. Come on. Come on. Come on. Come on. Come on. Come on. All right. Thank you for getting out. I've never actually >> Okay, I just want to get him wet a little bit cuz I know he's hot. >> Cluttered, overheated, and unfit for any living thing. Come on, baby. >> Hi, buddy. >> Oh, no. Make him jump in the car with the water. Take the water in the car. Come on. Come on. Come on. Come on. Come on. Come on. Come on. >> While some officers work to calm the restless dog, another begins questioning the owner, who now has to answer for the situation he created. >> Let me get under you. Come on, dog. Get in. Wait. Wait. Come on. Come on. Go the other side. Open the other door. Come on. This way. >> There's the finger. >> Come on. Come on. Come on. Come on. Come on. Come on. >> So, I do just have to talk to you before I ask you any kind of questions or anything like that. I have to let you know of your your rights. Okay. So before we start, I'm required to warn you before you make any statement that you have the following constitutional rights. Do you understand? >> Okay. >> So that being said, I do just have a couple of questions. Um the dog that was this this vehicle, this is your vehicle, correct? >> Okay. And so the dog that was inside the vehicle, that's your dog, correct? What's the dog's name? >> Mr. Bojangles. >> Mr. Bojangles. Uh >> 10 weeks. >> When when did you leave him in the car >> is what I'm trying to ask. >> Last night. >> Last night. So you left him last night. >> So what reason did you leave him here in the car? He's fine in the car for like an hour or so. >> Did you leave him any kind of water, food, anything like that in the car? >> I walked him uh and I gave him water. >> What did you put the water in? >> Uh cup. >> Cup. >> Yeah. >> And so you you said last night around what time did you leave here? to blur because it was sunfetched last night. And uh >> um the officer quickly picks up on the inconsistencies in the man's story and doesn't let them slide, pressing him harder with each contradiction. >> What's the question? >> Around what time last night did you leave him in the car here? And you said that you left last night. What time was that? I left him in the afternoon. Late afternoon. >> You told me that you left him last night. >> I said I was looking for him last night, >> right? >> So, how would you have been looking for him last night, but didn't leave him? Obviously, you would have had to leave him if you were looking for him. Correct. >> Yeah, he was in the car, >> right? >> Uh, so I was looking for at for him. >> Mhm. And then you couldn't find him. Correct. >> I couldn't find him. And so I gave up. I uh fell asleep uh last night and at 6:00 this morning I started to look again. >> Okay. Anything else you feel is relevant to my investigation? >> No. >> No. >> No. You know, um, my heart is broken, you know, from and and >> Okay. Have you ever has this ever happened before? Following the initial interview, a relative of the owner speaks up and his account makes the situation look even worse. >> It's my uncle. >> It's your uncle. >> He is not well. >> Okay. >> He uh he kind of disappeared. >> Um went all the way up to New York, back to Florida. He's like not mentally there anymore. Just kind of like fell apart. Um, and today my mom called me while I was at work saying that my uncle just appeared at her house. Just walked up with nothing. >> So, what's going to happen is animal care is here. Okay. So, they have to take the dog. >> Okay. >> All right. They're going to call you once they once they check the dog out. So, once the dog is determined to be okay to be released. So, once they get the dog out of my car, you'll go into my car. >> Why am I being arrested? because of how you left the dog. Okay. The dog was left for an extended period of time in the vehicle with no water, no food, no nothing. We had a call about a dog and I got here and the dog was clearly in distress. Okay. >> He had water. Uh >> there was no water when I was here >> twice last night. >> Okay. Well, it's also South Florida and it's extremely hot and sunny. Okay. Okay. So, for him to be in that car all day by himself with no water, no nothing. Okay. >> In the end, the owner was charged with two serious offenses, including animal cruelty and animal abandonment. Number one, hoarder steals neighbor's dog. But the cops weren't ready for what came next. Things escalated fast in this next case. A woman allegedly stole her neighbor's dog. And when officers arrived, she pulled a knife. Here's how the situation unfolded from there. >> What's going on? >> All I want to do is >> What's going on? Can you Hey, drop the knife. Do it. Now you're going to get tased. >> Do you understand what I'm telling you? You're going to get tased. >> It's going to hurt. Put the dog down and turn around. >> Put the dog down and turn around or you will be tased. It's going to hurt you. >> Isn't it funny, >> Crystal? And from here, her actions only grow more bizarre by the second. >> She's double lock. I got it. >> Double >> search. I got the knife and the lighter out of the right pocket. We're going to roll my way to the other side. >> All right. This side. >> What do I got? >> You got a knife. >> I got love. >> You got a knife. No, don't put your bar. >> No, just keep keep feeding it until it comes out. There we go. >> Does anyone know where the desert rose grows? only ancient which is the last thing anyone wants to be. >> She was just she wasn't making any sense. >> I told her to put the knife down. She put it in her pocket in her right pocket >> and she was still open closed. Was the knife open at all? >> She it was open first and then she closed it and then put it in her pocket. >> Okay. And then so we you know got taser and she wouldn't she and then he arrived and >> yeah I got here after she had put the knife away just came out Ross was giving commands she she had her hand up like this dong in the other hand was talking so I said let's let's go put our guns away it went to go reach for the knife as we got close to her but we got her hand got her on the ground and now she's Uh, pocket knife was recovered. And what else? What else you have in her? >> A lighter. She had a light. A lighter. >> Take a breath. >> I'm >> okay. Hey, take a breath. You're good. >> Everybody okay? >> Yeah. >> Got bit by a dog, but I'm straight. >> Where'd you get bit? >> Did it break skin? >> Nah. Kind of nicked me. >> Okay. As long as it didn't break skin. If it broke skin, then we got to do a accident. >> Yeah, I'm straight. Let's get EMS here for her. >> I'm one of the neighbors here, too. We heard the commotion. This is definitely his job. >> Oh, I I I know I know it's not her dog. I know her dogs. It's not her dog. >> Well, then she started talking about some other name, Oscar, you know, like like I who I say I am. I didn't even I hear you. >> The victim's account fills in the gaps, offering disturbing insight into the suspect's behavior that night. I I dealt with her the other day. She was kind of going crazy. It didn't meet any criteria for us to bake racket at the point. However, obviously, we're in different circumstances now. Um, >> she she followed me. So, I didn't go to my house. I didn't want to go right to the house. So, I came down here and there was a guy on the porch, >> right? >> Talking on the phone, you know, and so when I stopped there, she came up there. >> Cut. >> No, this just >> Do you need medical attention at all? I'm sorry. I didn't ask. >> She She tried to cut the rope, you know. She, you know, was saying wasn't hurting my dog. >> I don't know. >> So, so when did you first see her? >> First time I ever saw her. >> Yeah. Like today. Today. Today. >> Just now. >> Like just now. >> She lives right here on the side. >> She lives in the next >> Yeah. She's Avenue G. Right. Yeah. I know where she lives. >> Between Avenue G. >> You saw her down there. >> I was riding my dog. I do it every night. >> Okay. She was sitting out there with her dog >> on Avenue G, right? >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> Yeah. And so one of her a dog that I thought was hers came out, you know, without a leash and she had that other one in her arm. And then she come out there and she said uh something and and she said, "I'm going to do something you're not going to like." And I thought she, you know, cuz I talked to her before, so I thought she was okay, you know. So she came up and grabbed the leash. She took the dog and started walking back towards the house. I was going to take the dog from me. So I realized she was wearing right. So I had to go and take it. But when I did, she pulled. >> I got to go. Oh yeah. I just I heard the commotion came over here cuz Yeah. >> I appreciate it. >> Okay. >> So she pulled a knife. >> So So So she got a a hold of your dog. >> Yeah. She took the leash from me. >> Okay. How'd she Did she like just ask for it? Did she take it from me? Did she like grab it? >> She said she was going to do something I'm not going to like, you know, and I thought, well, maybe she's going to help introduce the other dog was kind of like growling, you know. They're about the same size. They they all get along. And >> so I thought maybe she was just going to introduce him. No, she started dragging him to the house. Her dog and this dog. >> My dog. Okay. >> The victim tells officers that the woman took his dog without hesitation, leaving no doubt in her mind that it was hers. With that, officers have what they need. >> You know, so she's So then I got it away from her. First I just let him go, you know, and he ran off and then, you know, so I got the lease back from her after I was going to leave that, you know, but she kept following me wherever I was going, you know, so I was like freaking out, >> right? >> I didn't want to go home, so and I She probably knows where I live, but I don't know. I hope >> she probably won't remember today. Yeah, >> be honest with you. >> And And >> she never tried to stab me, but she did pull the knife on me. >> Yeah. How How'd you feel? Do you feel threatened? >> Yeah. Yeah. I got a knife in my pocket. I felt like I might just have to, you know, defend. >> Right. If you had one word that that chose your your your emotional state when she pulled the knife, what would you say you were like? What state were you in? Would you say >> like were you mad? Were you upset? Were you in fear? Were you >> I was in fear. Yeah. You know, like the hair stood up on the back of my neck cuz I now I'm thinking, you know, I could get stabbed, >> right? Okay. >> But, you know, >> and then and then what what did you do after she pulled the knife? I got back, you know, I got back and uh and I had to get the the dog loose. She had the dog, you know, on the leash. And so I I bent down and let the dog go and, you know, >> she could have stabbed me if she was going to, but I don't think she ever really was. >> My response, >> right? But you thought she she could have been capable of >> I thought she was. >> Okay. >> You know, and I don't you know, I don't I don't have no >> Right. Okay. If if >> I think there's something wrong. She's mentally ill. I need some help probably, >> right? Okay. So, so during my or during our investigation, I'm not sure who's going to take primary on this. During our investigation, if we determined that there was a crime where you are labeled as a victim >> and her being the suspect, would you like to press charges, let's say, for the night? No, you don't want to press charges. Okay. Um, would you would you want to do a statement for him? >> If you do you have good handwriting? >> Yeah, I do. >> All right. There we go. All right. Give me one second. Okay, I got you. While the officers discuss the charges, they prepare to let the woman know what's coming. But things don't go as expected. >> Yeah. What are we going for here? >> It's going to be a assault no matter what. >> Okay. Yeah. Yeah. For sure. >> Yep. So, it's going to be a assault no matter what. >> Theft for taking the dog. >> Even if he doesn't want to press charges, >> she's going to jail. It's a felony. She's going to jail. It's a final felony. >> So, obstructed as well. >> Yep. >> Obstructed. >> Oh, yeah. Yeah. >> Yeah. You got resisting agisol. I mean the list goes on. >> Um you're going to make sure you fill out all the forms. >> Huh? >> We're we're pressing anyways. It's a aggravated felony. So, >> uh when you get to the jail, obviously the two youth, but when you get to the jail, um make sure on that form you fill out everything cuz they're going to have to baker her. >> Yeah. Most likely. >> Yeah. Just try to talk to see if you can get her to turn around first. Well, just so we can just cuz we're going to attempt everything. >> Mhm. >> Shield. >> Rip that out of her hand. >> I am. >> She's coming. She's coming. >> Listen. >> Get her on the ground. >> Get her on the ground. >> No. Uhuh. >> Get on the ground. Get on the ground now. >> No. >> Give me your hands. Hold on. Hold on. Take a second. Right. >> Stop resisting. Push. Stop resisting. >> Listen. >> There you go. >> Stop resisting. >> All work. >> This simple white woman is trying to ask is why are you attacking her and her >> stop resisting >> where we know there is no jail. >> There is no prison anymore. Guys, help me. You got it. >> They're trying to take me to beified >> again. Number 21. >> The first one. >> No. >> Let go. >> Let go of the cop. >> Her combative behavior continues with every action clearly aimed at wearing down the officers as much as possible. >> I'll hold. >> No. Ow. Stop your ribs. >> I got I got this arm. You just worry about her body and legs. >> I got the cup. I got the cup. >> There we go. Move your finger. >> I got the double lock. >> No. No. We're going to stand her up first. We're going to push her against the car and that's when we're going to do all that. Okay. >> All right. >> Mhm. >> All right. Hey. Hey. Roll around. >> Towards you. Towards you. Towards you. Towards you. You got to do it outside. >> All right. Put your knees to your >> Put your knees to your knees to your chest >> where my bigs and my Tupac can see what they're doing. >> Now we're going to roll her onto her bucket. Ready? >> Yeah. >> They're cousins. >> And one, two, three. >> All right. Get her to the >> um here. >> Wait a minute. Uhuh. Where are we waiting a minute for? >> If y'all are leaving me here like you're supposed to, >> why are we supposed to leave you here? >> I need to leave my pocket knife, who I never use for a weapon, unless I need to cut something. >> Okay. >> Not. >> So, here's the thing. You're going to jail? >> No. >> Yes, you are. >> There is no jail. >> Yes, there is. How is there no jail? >> Uh, the jail is in Key West. >> Yeah, that's where we're driving. >> Yeah, Key West is gone. I hate to tell you, this ain't New York. We have jail here. Get in the car. Get in the car. Oh no. What the >> Hold on. Hold on. Hold on. Hold on. >> She's finally secured again. And the officers waste no time making sure she's on her way to face the consequences. >> Turn around. >> Turn around. >> It's not Khalifa, bro. >> This is not with Khalifa. 1126. >> This is Crystal. >> This is Jojo. >> Take a seat in the car. Take a seat in the car. >> Get in. >> No. >> Get around. >> Don't you try to kick me. >> No. >> Back up. Let her swim your feet. >> No. >> Watch your head. >> Give her a second. She probably get She said she must have shoes and both feet. >> Well, you kicked them off >> at all times. >> I got to set her up. >> Um, no. >> Ultimately, the suspect was hit with several serious charges, including theft, aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, and resisting arrest with violence.
