Temptation got the better of these employees, and the security footage didn't miss a second of their terrible decisions. Here are five cases when people got caught stealing at their workplace. Number five, pregnant cashier begs for mercy. She's still getting charged. In our first case, officers responded to a five below after a manager reported that one of their cashiers had been caught stealing money during their shift. Here's what the manager had to say when the police arrived >> working here. She made her first fraudulent um midvoy transaction on December 19th. >> She's back there with right now. I haven't read her or anything because I thought you guys wrote in something else. Sorry. Um and then her last um was February 5th of the Midvoid. So what the midvoid is is customer is making a they're returning >> that register right there. That's what she does. >> So they're turning in money um for our product, right? Correct. Um and then the customer then pretty much leaves she before she even um opens the door she um clicks the sale. So it shows that the money was returned but the money the door never opens >> as if they forgot their wallet. They just turn into a walker. >> Okay. >> And so the money never gets put in >> we have copies of these transactions. >> Not only transactions but we also have screenshot and I've got 15 or 20 sample videos which I'll have to burn and send to you file. I was going to give them a link for Amazon. So, >> um >> the total amount of uh successful midborn transactions is 1423. So, grandpa. >> Um they she is 6 and 1/2ish months pregnant. >> Um he has compassion, but at the same time, he said >> needs to put the foot down. Um and >> she claims she was homeless and then that her 17-year-old daughter is walking around out here and that she stole the money for uh hotels and food. That's what she did. >> But they want to prosecute. So, um I start writing up and I just wanted to clarify everything. So, to make some pictures um the gentleman that has the the overview what uh officer just sat there a little bit with some pictures with all the transactions and then once that gets gets assigned or whatever, I can then send you all a thumb drive where I can uplink that to your cloud. Okay. And her name is Victoria. Like I said, I haven't I haven't met with her in her. I'll head back there. >> Yeah, I'll talk to her. Okay. Thank you. She was just >> Okay. Okay. >> After hearing the full rundown from both a manager and his fellow officer, the responding officer heads inside to directly confront the suspect. >> You mind if I talk to her for a second? >> Yeah, go ahead. >> Hello. Are you Latoya? >> All right. I'm just going to read something off for you real quick. Okay. >> You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say, maybe use against the court of law. You have the right to talk to a lawyer before and during question. If you cannot afford a lawyer, one will be provided for you. Has anybody threatened you to talk to me today? >> Do you understand your rights? >> Mhm. >> Okay. So, what happened? >> Me and my daughter's homeless and I was taking cash to feed us and keep us like a shelter and stuff like that. I I admitted to everything. I'm I'm pregnant. Yeah, I understand. >> We um sometimes we sleep on the steps. >> Mhm. >> Well, well, the hotel we at some stuff. >> So, how how are you taking money? >> Like sometimes they overpay me, I take it, put it in my pocket. >> Okay. >> Or >> who who would overpay you? >> The customer. >> Customer. they they want to ask for change or >> No, they just don't ask for change or sometimes I um I pull out a ticket. It don't be like it don't be it be like 20 bucks or something like that just to feed us for that night and stuff like that >> or whatever. But >> how many times do you believe you've done this? He said he said it started in December, but I we didn't we didn't um we didn't start sleeping on the bench until I I said January, but he said I don't remember taking anything in December, but I was honest to the whole thing. I mean, I'm took >> cuz this is a statement you're writing for them. Yes, >> it's Latoya Luster. Correct. >> Latoya managed to steal over $1,000 before the scheme came to light. By the time officers arrived, she had already written a statement admitting to it. And although she had her reasons, it didn't change the fact that she committed theft. >> That's the >> So, the total was for $1,495. >> That's what he he said. >> You You believe it? Most likely. I don't I wasn't keeping up with anything. >> Okay. >> Nothing. I was if we needed something to eat. I just I just took that I'm about to >> So what what's going on with your daughter? >> Nothing. We stay together. We just >> Yes, sir. >> No, I just needed a fold that you need to get. >> You You can pick whatever you need. We we stay together for just a few. >> So what what brought on the hardship? >> Uh we were staying we had a place and I I end up losing the place or whatever. Um and then I got pregnant. So we were staying with somebody and they told us we had to leave. >> Mhm. So we uh moved to the hotel and stuff. You know hotels sometime they get high and stuff like that. So and then by me being pregnant and stuff. So I just do the best I could. >> Okay. How old is your daughter? >> My daughter's 17. >> 17. So now there's resources to reach out to >> I did. I reached out to them and stuff. my doctors gave me resources or whatever, but um the shelters they say they over booked and stuff. So I I did I reached out to him, right? It it really wasn't my opinion. >> Okay. >> So how many times do you believe you taking money over over the span of what from December >> till now? He said from it started December. I don't I didn't take >> Latoya had been running her scheme since mid December and it wasn't until two months later that her manager began noticing the inconsistencies in the sales report. >> The only thing it started was I thought it started um after the 31st. My first time this >> after the 31st of December. Okay. >> Uhhuh. Um we didn't have no one to sleep. What's the most you've taken in a like one period of time? >> Uh, it it usually be just like 20 bucks here, 20 bucks there >> throughout a shift. You might do it multiple times. Okay. >> I mean, for 1,400 that that adds up if you're taking it at 20, you know, $20. >> That's how he said they added it up and stuff like that, but >> that's that's I know that's what I take. Like I >> And when when did you start again? December. Uh, I don't remember when it started. I think 12, 14, stuff like that. >> Okay. >> Oh, well, let me talk to the manager and I'll come back. Okay. You mind saying 10:12? >> Now that Latoya has given her version of events, the officer heads back to the manager to clarify a few points and review the footage that captured the theft. So, so essentially she was saying that uh if customers overpaid that she would take that money and then if and then she would void accounts. How exactly? >> So here's what happened. So um you come up a lot of these international customers. This is 1995. Hey, how you doing? Never credit all cash. 1995 that' be 1995 sir. And then um >> perfect. You want to make a copy of this? Do you need the original or would you like the >> We can take a copy of that. >> Make a copy. You need the original. >> Do we even need one of their witness? Yeah, we don't even need one. >> So, what you see on video is um when we actually get one queued up if you want to see it. She comes up 1995 and she's they say 1995. The customer will give them a lot of times 20 or 19 and 95 in cash. >> Most of them around here are kind of they don't they don't want the 5 cents. They don't care. So she would push the bag to bank and then she would hit kind of delay and if they turn and walk away they had not even hit how much they gave her. She hits midvoid that sale is null and void as if they went up I don't have my money drawer never pops open they go off with it and into the pocket or under Yes sir and so that happened. So, in some cases, they gave exact change. I don't want the receipt. In other cases, they didn't. She'd say, "Don't worry about the extra amount." And they would go off. And I saw her put them under the keyboard, under the drawer, in her pocket. She did it a number of different ways, basically. So, that's how that's how you take your midwood. It's a very easy way to take cash. >> Get her identification. >> Uh, no. I'll take that from you. >> Uh, is there a way I can pull it back to get her out the back or do I have to bring her throughout the front? >> We would for to to make it easier. We can absolutely just uh disconnect the dete around the back and have you come around the back. Absolutely. >> Hey Oscar, >> do you want me to get her identified or do you end it pretty? >> Yeah, it's not going to be right now. It's going to be a second. >> It's the end of the road for Latoya. She's now being escorted to the patrol car to answer for the charges. >> And where's the ID at here? I'll, if you don't mind, I'll grab it. Is it in your wallet? Mhm. >> Right here. Latoya Lester. Okay. >> Can you just hold your hands out like this for me? How far? >> Did you not search for it? >> Cigarettes, drugs. No, you stand up. Stand up. Go ahead and slow. >> I'm just going to put this over. before you leave. I'm very sorry about everything, but basic second person I got be You got the paperwork for Latoya was ultimately charged with felony grand theft. Number four, cashier's side hustle was going great until Walmart called the cops. On July 21st, 2025, officers were dispatched to a Walmart after store management reported catching one of the employees stealing. Here's how things played out. >> How's it going? >> How you doing, man? >> Good. What's going on? >> All right. So look, we have we're doing a return investigation. >> Okay. >> Um that phone register and some refund fraud. >> Okay. >> Okay. And uh could you close that for me, please? >> We got six in. >> All right. >> And um work with I got you got everything laid out. for a second that's got shots and all that stuff. For instance, this is my statement. >> I'm guessing you guys got video and everything. >> Oh, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Now, y'all do upload or you do burn this DVD. >> Either way, it's either probably through the evidence. >> Yeah. If you send me >> Yeah. Send me Exxon link and I can do it. But this >> cuz I'm not there's another officer coming. He's going to take primary on it. >> Oh, okay. Gotcha. Gotcha. Well, he you wanted to see it. He wanted to cease. >> I don't know if he wants to see it. Um >> Okay. >> So, obviously prior to all this, what's your plans? >> Uh we we are pro persecuted and um >> we are it's over a thousand. >> Okay. What they have is taken from the register and fraudulent. >> So cash from teal fraud doing a refund doing a refund. They're not a customer there. They're taking the cash out. uh register for the refund on top. So all the money came from the field. >> Gotcha. >> Right. So broken down. Give you a narrative on what what took. But this is As soon as the lead officer arrives, the suspect wastes no time making a startling confession. >> That's just one of my uh statement. But I got each incident broken down to what what it was and all. >> And there's on video. Yeah. We are going here. >> You have already on. >> Yes. I have a question. >> Yes. >> Can you do you think do you know how much? >> I did. I did it. >> I did it. It's I already talked to you. I did it. >> My guess is somewhere somewhere between$3 to $5,000. Then you just All you got to do is speak to a bales bondsman and you got to come up with 10% with collateral. >> So three three to 500 generally. I can't quote you because obviously it's up to the jails and your history and all that stuff. I don't know if you have a bad history or anything like that. No. Okay. All right. Now, I have to take a sworn statement from you. Mr. You raise your right hand. >> Yeah. Good. >> Uh, do you swear to tell the truth the whole truth? Nothing with the truth. >> Thank you. >> Perfect. State your name for me. >> The manager lays out the suspect's actions in detail and the more he shares, the more staggering it all sounds. And the reason why you called the police department today >> Walmart investigator with Walmart and we have an associate who was taking money cash from the T also doing fraud refunds and taking the cash from the TE's for the refund fraud. So, we had six incident acts um ranging them from um June up until uh more recently about a week ago. Totaling over $1,000. Uh there's numerous more but we just stopped the business. We we interviewed the internal interview investigation admitted to it and uh therefore we were seeking prosecution. And how were you originally notified? >> Uh, one of the Well, we got an alert registers with being shut. >> Who's we ass? >> Okay. >> So, we got like um like neighbor said sure being shut. So, we do research upon researching. We found out you know like you can look at each transaction. who's going through various right now. You notice her suspicious activ there very suspicious. So somebody has to be there refund taking money from the kill that time for a period of time. They're just doing a transaction himself and taking money from your possession and walking out of it. soon. >> Perfect. Um, anything else that you want to add to that, Sarah? >> Uh, and after she confessed to doing all of it, and she actually confessed to doing sever all the incidents that we don't hear about. >> Okay. >> Okay. Perfect. Um, >> now that officers know this isn't an isolated case, it's time to see whether the suspect will own up or double down. We got no other questions about that. That concludes the statements. >> Obviously, we're all on here and stuff like that. Let me just read you your Miranda rights, right? >> Yes, sir. >> Like I said, I'm not the one doing the investigation or anything like that. I'm just here to back him up. These are your rights. You had the right to remain silent and I answer any questions. Any statement you make must be freely and voluntarily given. You have the right to the presence and representation of a lawyer of your choice before you make any statement and during any question. If you cannot afford a lawyer, you are entitled to the presence and representation of a courtappointed lawyer before you make any statement and during any questioning. If at any time during the interview you do not wish to answer any questions, you are privileged to remain silent. I can make no threats or promises to induce you to make a statement. This must be your own free will. Any statement can and will be used against you in a court of law. You understand this? Yes, sir. >> So, what happened? You got away with it once and thing I want to get caught. Look at this. >> Yeah. >> I said I told them stuff is hard at home and I'm sorry. What's going on on with home life? >> Thanks, nerve-wracking that I did it. I knew I was going to get caught. Yeah. Like I said, um when it stuff hits you and you know you got no other choice, you do something stupid. >> As the weight of the situation sinks in, the suspect breaks down and tries to explain herself. Unfortunately, it won't change what comes next. All right, Miss Ferguson, we're aware of what's happening? >> Yes, sir. >> Okay, I got it. >> So, you're aware that you're going to be placed under arrest and brought with us? >> Yes, sir. >> Okay. Out of respect, I'll wait till we get outside to put you in handcuffs and work everybody here. >> All right. >> So, I'll wait to put you out in handcuffs out there. >> Okay. >> All right. >> Is there any way we go through our back door? >> Um, is this the back door? >> Um, we can get out the back door if you want to go around the back of the building. >> I'm good with it. I have no problem with it. Okay, >> no problem with it. >> Okay, >> I need your statement and I need your >> It's easier if you need a desk. >> Where should I bring my car? >> If you just go like around the back of the building, you'll see like um an open door. >> Well, he's going to stay there. My car. >> Yeah, you'll just see an o a big open door with that our receiving door. >> Okay. At the end of the day, not only did the suspect lose her job, but she was also charged with felony grand theft. Number three, police surprised cashier giving out friendly discounts. In this next case, police responded to a target after reports that an employee had been stealing gift cards and giving unauthorized discounts to friends. When officers showed up, the loss prevention head is ready to explain everything. Thank you. >> The person, does he know we're coming? >> I think so. >> Okay. >> Hey, how you doing, man? >> Okay. Um, you got a minute. Can I hear this real quick? >> Yeah, sure. >> Or do you want me to go out there and talk to him? >> Sure. I mean, you're >> Sorry. Somebody's somebody's going to say >> here. Um I have the statement in my office but pretty much so >> sorry I was >> what's your name sir? >> Tori okay what are >> I'm the lead for asset protection. >> Okay great >> you got it >> chill let off with that one. >> Yeah I appreciate you. >> So tell me what happened. >> So basically this we got in there um just over here. Sorry I'll talk about it now. Before interviewing the employee, the officer gets a full rundown from loss prevention about how the theft came to light. >> How old is this kid? >> Just her name. >> Um, so I have my statement filled out >> on here just kind of everything happened. So over the past since July 26th, so we have on camera for video evidence. um just doing markdowns for his friends like uh >> video games marking down 50% unauthorized and um you know on three separate occasions that we have on video same three friends same card number um so we've been talking to men there about everything that happened he admitted to it and then on the 14th of this month scanned himself a gift card and put cash payment in put >> let me just stop you there one second so this about a month ago there was some activity that happened here marking stuff down >> seeing video saying kids got it on video all that stuff you talked to him at that point about it. Uh were any charges? Did you press any charges at that time? >> No. So the the stuff that we talked to him about, we're talking all to him right now about everything that occurred. Um >> reason is cuz we didn't know if it was a trend cuz usually like I said, you have a a one guess it's random, right? So when we reviewed video and kind of kept tabs on them, he had it three separate occasions, same kids. Some of them wearing the same clothes, doing unauthorized markdowns, pretty much like said half off. So you >> and these are and these are um customers coming in, friends of his, whatever. He's doing all >> he admitted that they were friends of his that he was pretty much hooking them up. And then also the 14th of this month, uh, most recently, he scanned himself a $100 Target Visa gift card on the register. When you put cash, you have to put cash in the register. If not, it'll pretty much just charge Target for it. So, he pretty much charged Target for it >> and then put it in a bag and sealed his pocket and walked out. So, >> when we uh were in the office with him, um, we pretty much talking to the mission statement. He pretty much admitted to everything that he's been marking down stuff for for his friends since beginning of this year and it's probably close to like two grand a >> according to asset protection. They initially gave the benefit of the doubt thinking the first incident was a fluke. But when the same faces kept coming back and the discounts kept growing, they knew something was off. The employee is now accused of overriding prices and in one case charging a $100 gift card to the store without ever putting any money in the register. >> Um, sorry, I'm just supporting a case. So, this is >> not mine. Um, this was markdowns at the register. So, friends of his that came through um for Legos, video game accessories, and for the most part everything was about 50% markdown uh for press overheads. Um, so there was three backto-back transactions on this occasion. So that's the first transaction. Second one here is for like a digital storage device. Uh, the other one was for like a computer gaming accessory for video gaming accessory. >> Was he running the register? >> Yeah, he was running the register. >> And who was the customer? >> Um, so on all of these occasions it was three males. I'm not familiar with them. He said that >> were that people you knew with. >> Uh I knew two of them. >> Who was the third one? >> The third one um is a friend of theirs and I didn't know personally very well but yeah. >> So what was the deal like you you were cutting them a break and then they were paying you off or? >> No, I didn't pay in all of my >> Then why you did? >> Then why you did that? Well, I know friendship like this, but I I didn't get I didn't get a single I didn't get a single thing back from doing all that. >> So, you are willing? >> Yes. Basically, >> to take a charge for a good friendship, >> man. I'm being completely >> No, I I understand that. It just like blows my mind that you're willing to do that. Go to jail >> for a friend. I mean, I want you as my friend, dude. So, out of all this, you kept $100 for yourself. >> You still have that gift card or you already use it? >> Um, my family has it. He nods along as the allegations are laid out, offering reluctant confirmation, but it's clear he's still holding back. >> Whe they used it or not. >> Who you gave it to? >> Give it to my father. >> Your father? >> I um I do have one on me though. >> Huh? >> I do have one on me. >> The friend? >> I believe there was two gift cards I stole. >> How much each? >> About 100. $100 each. >> And the one that you gave it to your dad, you just gave him as a gift or did you tell him? >> Um, my grandfather has a pancreas infection right now. >> Uh-huh. >> And so I kind of gave it to him as like, you know, some money to help pay for the hospital, but that's about it. Cool. And uh so he mentioned three people. Um I did it for other people too. >> So >> but they they weren't the the main like they the >> right. So there's more transactions than what Target knows. That's what you're telling me. >> Um I'm not sure what's on that paper. So they might they might have it down. What it's on the paper is the three semi- individuals in three separate transactions on July 26, August 2nd and August the 8th. That's the three transactions that they have. Yeah, those are the main ones. I just been talking to them. I have not read them yet. >> Okay. Um then you uh otherwise we're we're all set on this side. So um anything else you need? Just going to read them. >> Okay. >> Before diving any further into the case, the officer pauses to read the suspect is Miranda rightites. >> All right. Um you can you can stay right there if you want. That's okay. You don't >> any officer ever ever read your rights before? No. >> He never had any encounter with the police, right? Doesn't understand why. >> So, what is what is he going to read to you? It's your Miranda warning, right? >> Yeah. >> He's going to read it to you. I'm sure you've seen on TV where I ask him. So, he's going to read it. If you have any questions, feel free to stop and then we'll try to explain it to you. Uh, this does not mean you're under arrest. Is he's going to ask a couple questions in reference to his investigation. By law, we have to ask you, we have to read you prior to asking you those questions. Correct. Okay. >> Okay. All right. And if you don't understand something, just tell me to stop, right? I can repeat it for you. Right. >> And I'm I'm officer Mosc. Okay. >> Okay. Um, you have the right to remain silent. Do you understand? >> Okay. By shaking your head, I assume they do. >> Responding the affirmative. >> Anything you say may be used against you in court. Do you understand? Yes. Okay. You have the right to talk to a lawyer before and during questioning. Do you understand? >> Yes. >> Okay. Uh if you cannot afford a lawyer and want one, one will be provided for you before questioning without charge. Do you understand? Okay. Uh has anyone threatened you? Anybody here? Anybody threatened you or promised you anything to get you to talk to me right now? >> No. Okay. Okay. Um so, can we talk about what happened here today? >> Yes. >> All right. Um, so tell me a little bit about what's been going on here with some of these markdowns. >> Um, they're friends of mine. >> Okay. >> Three guys. I don't know. >> Okay. >> Um, I I just know he's a friend of theirs and so I know the other two, Gavin and Kyle. >> Okay. So, three three people. Three individuals. Okay. >> You say what's his name? >> Um, two of them are Gavin and Kyle. The last guy is Phil. Um, don't call me Phil. I just I just Yes. Um Phil did not go to my >> The suspect confirms the markdowns were frequent, even naming friends who regularly came in while he was working. What began as doing favors gradually turned into a routine of theft. >> But he and his friends were gent >> and um >> Is that where you go, Dr. Phillips? >> That's right. You go like you're I heard you're 18. Okay. >> What about um >> Yeah. >> Okay. Take your time. Take your time. >> Those markdowns are from Gavin and Kyle um and Phil I guess coming into Target asking for a discount. >> Do you remember what types of items that you marked down? >> Uh yes. Legos mainly. Um video game accessories. Um, some video games like actual games. Um, >> some like toys. >> Okay. Is there any uh anything else? Anything monetary value? Anything like that? >> Nothing. You remember any uh any uh gift cards? >> Yes. >> That was not for gift. >> That was that was not for them. That was actually for um myself and my family. >> Okay. So, that was for your personal use with your family, you're saying? >> Yes. >> Okay. Did Gavin or Kyle force you to do any of this? Did they tell you, "Hey, we're gonna They threaten you in some way to say if you did this, uh, there's going to be some >> No, no, no. Um, >> yeah. No, >> no. This was just you want to do something for your friends and saying, "Hey, it'd be really cool if we got some stuff marked down." >> Yeah. >> Yeah. Okay. Um, is there anything else? >> Which which one was the friend that asked you for the discount? >> Kevin asked you for the discount the first time he came in >> and then you agreed to uh >> to give him discount and then I'm assuming he came back. >> Yes. >> Went straight to you and say the same thing. Can you discount me again? >> Yes. and physically. >> One more question and the stakes could rise dramatically depending on what the suspect admits. >> How many times how many times you discounted that you think you discounted Kevin and Galvin? >> I know Target is saying three, but it was those three or you think it was more than three? >> Five more than three. >> More than three. >> More than three. >> Uh do you have any idea? 5 10 15 >> not 15 maybe like between five and 10. >> Between five and 10. And then uh you had a mention to me earlier that uh besides uh Kevin and Galvin um you also discounted some other transactions for other friends. >> Yes, like once or twice. >> Okay. Was the same thing? They came up to you and said, "Hey, Sebastian, we're good friends. Can you give me a discount?" Or you just immediately like, "I I got you." >> They came up to me and ask >> um who are this other uh >> friends from school? >> Just friends from school. um total between the transactions uh with Kevin and Galvin plus the other uh couple that you discounted. How much money you think you discounted? >> I said to them like 2,000 >> 2,000 really? >> But I I don't >> Right. No, fair enough. It is what it is. Um, and then you did one transaction for a $100 gift card, correct? >> Yes. >> That and then the second transaction for a gift card was also that $100 or it was a different amount. >> Um, that might have been 50. >> 50? >> Yeah. >> One of you gave it to your dad. Do you remember when was that that you gave it to your dad? >> Like it's less than a month ago. According to the suspect, the thefts weren't isolated. He confesses to stealing on at least 10 separate occasions, far more than the three incidents Target had initially caught. >> No, it's probably a >> month and a half month ago. And then the one the one that you still have in your pocket, when did you do this transaction? >> Um Oh, we know they flip-flopped. >> So the one I have right now >> Yeah. was one I kind of kept that I it's been in my wallet for the past I don't know few like month or so >> a month or so that one >> this one is 100 and then the other 100 is for that my parents have >> so basically two $100 >> the one that is in your pocket I know you just told me it's a $100 gift card you use it >> I have I have >> you use all of them >> no not all of it but someone >> I don't know the SN on it. >> Uhhuh. >> But um >> but you have used it in person. >> I have I have used it probably for like $10. Maybe $20. >> So you probably have like 80 or 90 bucks left. Do you mind if I see that card? >> Yeah. >> Where did you use it? Here or elsewhere? >> Elsewhere. Um, I know you mentioned that your grandfather has been ill, that he's have pancreas. And I know you also mentioned that one of the gift cards, you did just in good faith, >> trying to help your dad out a little bit with the bills and stuff since the hospital bills are are devastating. They're being too expensive. Um, did the transactions that you did for your friend, did you ask your friends for any return or anything? >> No. >> No. >> They I didn't ask for anything else in return. >> Okay. >> Nothing. >> Do you had any intent to ask them in the future? Like, hey dude, I hooked you up with this. Can you help me out or anything like that? >> No. And >> like I asked you before, right? So, nobody threatened you or anything like that to force you to do this. This was >> your own choice to do this. >> All from good heart. The last piece of the puzzle is in place and the officers can now wrap things up. >> All right. >> Okay, good enough. Um, so >> we've got copies of the receipts that were in here. I've got the statement. I've got video. He's got his evidence.com link. >> Yeah, those are all the transactions. >> Let me grab >> Let me grab these. So, I got this. >> I stapled them all together for the days that they happened. Like, uh, ones that are stapled pretty much the same day. They're back transactions. >> We needed real quick. >> All right, sir. Uh, has to turn around for me real quick. >> All right. Thank you. >> You guys, you guys need anything else from us? Um, are you guys going to look into the remaining amount or in this case just close on your end? >> Um, >> probably just close on our end cuz everything but um within uh like footage. >> Given the suspect's willingness to comply, officers take a discreet route out, shielding him from further embarrassment in front of co-workers. >> Yeah, it's probably outside of the time frame. com link. So, make sure you bring that up for >> Do we have a back door >> so we don't have to walk him? >> Yeah, I'll walk. I got >> Okay. >> You want to hold him for a minute? I'll go grab >> Try not to walk in front of all your coworkers. >> Okay. I'll take my car >> right here. >> No. Yeah, they should we should exit by the side door where your car is. >> Mine's all the way on the other side. So, if you want to stay with him, I'll grab my car. Okay. Take this. >> Go ahead and start bringing your car. All right. Do you have anything else on you? >> Uh, just my phone and welder. >> Oh, and and my keys are in there, too. So, whatever. Yeah. >> Where is your car? In the back corner over there. >> Any pocket knives, razor blades, or anything? Cutters on your shoes? >> No, I got nothing. >> Yep. Take care. Okay. Fine. Okay. >> Though the theft allegedly totaled almost $2,000, the suspect walked away with just a petty theft charge. Number two, hostess pocketed a guest's purse, then got the shock of her life at work. On March 13th, 2025, officers were dispatched to a local restaurant following reports of an employee allegedly involved in theft. Here's what they walked into. Sadly, not my first time of directing this. Um, sure. >> Uh, the best way I found a cop had a great idea of you guys coming into the back dock where the dumpsters are at. >> Yeah. >> I'm going to ask her to come grab some trash bags in the back >> and it's just the back dumpster area. So, it's it's it's basically private >> and you guys can have whatever conversation you want. >> Yeah, sure. >> Hello, Alexandra. How you doing? Um, do you know why we're here? Any idea why we might be here? to talk to you. >> No. >> Okay. So, okay. Um, well, here to place you under arrest. Okay. For theft. >> All right. >> Yes. Stealing. Okay. So, if you don't mind, turn around. Put your hands behind your back. Okay. Got it. >> What did I do? >> Uh, you hold it. Hold it. >> Yeah. It's 20. 20. 20. >> Okay. So, you stole a purse that was in your guys's Yes, it was in the lost and found. Okay. >> Um, yeah. >> Yeah. So, that purse? >> Okay. >> Um, you took it. >> Do you still have it? >> Yeah. >> Where is it? >> It's in my house. Um, I can explain it. Okay. Hold on. Hold on. Hold on. >> Okay. Okay. >> Yeah, I can explain it. >> All right. Let's just make sure. Mhm. >> Okay. I'm going to have to take some of this jewelry. Uh, anything else on you? Just the phone or? >> Yeah, >> but I can explain you guys really quick to be honest. >> Okay. Well, >> do you have anything on you that's going to poke me? Any wine keys? Anything like that? No, >> I don't think so. >> No. Okay. I'm going to search you. All right. Stop squirming, please. >> Focus. >> No more moving around. >> Yeah. >> Follow the instructions for right now. Okay. >> Okay. With the suspect now apprehended, the officers begin their investigation. The officers probe, but the suspect tries to slither her way out of the crime. >> But I I have everything on the first that is that was on the >> Okay. Well, we're going to we're going to get to that in a in a little bit. Okay. >> I'm going to have to >> I can't The amount of times people have told me that though. Okay. Can you separate your feet for me, please? >> Separate your feet. Okay. Thank you. And I'm going to take this off. Okay. >> Stop moving. >> Oh, sorry. >> Yeah. Just >> just look at me. Calm down. Okay. This is not the end of the world. She just needs to do her job. >> It's harder when you're moving. Yeah. >> This is the back of my hand. Okay. Just making sure. >> And that's it. Do you have any a locker here or anything like that? >> Locker. >> Like a locker. Any personal belongings? >> Any personal belongings here? >> Oh, yeah. But it's only in my purse. >> That's important. It's your purse. >> Where would it be at? >> It's on the host stand. >> A host stand? >> Yeah. >> Andy, would you or actually I can. >> Okay. If you guys don't mind. Okay. >> Is it behind takeout area? >> Yeah. >> Take out. And what what color purse is it? >> It's black. It's a keeping bag and a black and jacket. >> Okay. the key that she has on that like if the vehicle was on the lazy dog place. >> Okay. >> And when I like drive to her house, I was also like if I can find her like her her vehicle in there. >> So now question. >> Yeah. >> At around I and I've seen this on video. >> Okay. You give you put the purse in your purse. >> Yeah. >> And then you give it to a man. >> Yeah. >> That came to the restroom. >> Yeah. >> Okay. So, which part of that is that you took it after work and >> Yeah. He was the person who like drove over there and see if that person has like their >> Okay. >> to their house because I don't have like the um vehicle license to drive over there. That's why >> she denies any intent to steal, instead claiming she took the purse to return it with the help of a vague accomplice she won't name. That explanation doesn't sit right with the officers who start digging deeper. >> So, let me ask you this. If we check the license plate of the vehicle that the guy showed up in, right? If we check the license plate of the vehicle against our cameras in town, it's going to show that vehicle going to her house. >> Yeah. >> I've been doing this job a long time. You didn't go to the house to drop the purse off, >> to be honest. Yeah. I have like the conversations with him like if was like he was going over there and he told me like yeah I went over there and no thing is >> what's his name? We're going to we're going to see. Okay. Um for now >> this is still considered theft. >> Okay. >> Okay. >> So we're taking you in for theft and I believe your manager here has a few words to say before we leave and then we're out and you're coming with us. Okay. >> Okay. >> Yeah. So you know there was a lot of care about it. That's right. There was a guest that came forward that said they were missing a purse and then we proceeded with our investigation as far as pulling cameras and it looked pretty clear as day that we had something to do with it or had something to do with it. Uh given that and you reached out to my HR department, everything unfortunately we do have to terminate your employment with us. >> I apologize, but um it's just it it is what it is. Whenever there's something to do with legality and stuff, we want to make sure that our guests feel safe being here. The officers offer her one final chance to tell the truth, but she doubles down on her story, unwilling to admit to anything else. >> I'll just say this, >> okay? >> Things things go more in your favor as far as charges with the state's attorney when you're honest. Okay? >> You to if you took the purse for whatever reason, just be honest about it because if we find out that you're lying halfway through this, right? I if if you can make me call him because to make sure because I that's what he told me and I believe that he went to that house and everything because if just to make sure because that's what he told me. I'm saying you what he told me because you you see that I was in the vehicle. I was working here. I just like take it to him and he like went to that. I just wanted to confirm that. >> But you're the one that's going to be getting charged with theft. >> Yeah. You're the one that took the course. >> Yeah. But it's possible just to make sure because all the things that I told you is what he told me >> to what happened with that purse after I give it to him, you know. >> All right. >> Because I told him like just check out because that person was in here and it's when I see it like was really expensive and just like go over there and see if that person is in here too like or the first one was to like see over if the vehicle was in here because it was really weird to be honest with me too. Then if the way vehicle was in her in her house too like was really weird. >> Well, if they couldn't drive away because the vehicle because of the key, right? If they couldn't drive away with the car, then they would have came back for the purse and the 10 minutes, right? >> How long have you worked here? >> Yeah, that's why. >> How long have you worked? >> Month. Two months. Yeah. >> Have you worked uh hostess stand for any other restaurants? >> Oh, >> yeah. On Olive Garden about a month. >> Okay. Have you ever tried to find the owner of any other missing purse? >> To be honest, yes, I try to because I feel so bad when that things happened. >> After hearing what the suspect had to say, the officers make their call. There's no need to drag this out any longer. >> Okay. Well, again, we're going to go to the station. I got to make a few phone calls. >> Then I'm going to let you know exactly what you're going to be charged with, whether it's going to be a misdemeanor or a felony for this. Because >> really >> because the amount $6,000 purse it's a $6,000 purse. >> Okay. Well, that's Yeah, I I have it. >> Right. But >> I have the card, too. I didn't do anything with them because I don't want to steal with anyone. >> Okay. And again, this again, we're going to get through this and we will, you know, figure out about how you're going to return the items and everything. However, it doesn't excuse the behavior. You understand what I'm saying? You still took something that wasn't yours in this situation. Okay. All right. And it's going to be up to the state's attorneys and the judge, right? We we're just here to record some facts and that's that. Okay. So, now let's go. Uh now, let's go to my car and you're paying to address the car. >> Is she trespassed at all or like could she come here to eat? What's what's the direction? >> Department did tell me that uh we do want to uh ask her to not return to the restaurant >> uh on a permanent basis. So yeah, >> you understand that you can't come here to eat. >> Okay, that's you don't need to come here for your check. >> All right. >> Okay. Do you need anything? >> Okay. Let me >> Here's how we're going to do this. >> Yeah. >> Go ahead. Be careful. There's stuff in the way. >> Okay. I'm going to guide you. >> Okay. In the end, the suspect was banned from the restaurant and also charged with grand theft. Number one, caught stealing co-worker's $3,000 purse. In our final case, police responded to a restaurant after an employee was reportedly caught stealing her co-worker's purse. When the officer arrived, the victim didn't waste time explaining what led to the call. >> Hello. Hi. >> I don't know. How do you open this? >> Push. I was like, I don't want to rip it. Okay. >> Doing good. How are you? >> So, we sent you lots. >> What? Yeah. Yeah. >> Got kind of juicy for you. >> Yeah. So, I heard >> there's a brother. You want the brother coming here? >> Uh, is he here? >> I'm going to call him right now. >> Did he Did she confess to him? >> No, she I had her on camera here saying, "Okay, I'll go find it." >> Okay. And do you have that video footage? I it's it's it's audio of her saying that, but the visual didn't pick up her. It might have picked her up once while or she walked in the door. Yeah. So, it did picked up her walking in the door and then >> I confronted her and was going back and forth with her and you on two cameras. I'm just shortening it up. Two cameras, blah blah blah. She's like, I would never do that. I wouldn't, you know, but you could tell by all her actions, she's guilty as >> she's here right now. So then um I asked Joe to walk outside to see if maybe she talk to me because I'm like listen happened to people whatever just bring me my purse the money we'll figure out afterwards and I had other in my purse I had a bracelet I had you know whatever was in there all my IDs bring me she's like I didn't do it and so then I'm like Shannon I don't give a you know I was getting >> so then finally I'm like where is my purse I want my purse go get my purse and so >> she's like okay I'll go find it so then we left today I called her sister-in-law who has a business. >> Where does she live? >> I don't know. She >> Okay. >> I feel bad. He doesn't want you to go to his house. He's so embarrassed. Super nice. >> But she lives with him. >> Yeah, she was. I think they kicked her out. So, the sister-in-law I called her this morning while we were on her phone. Shannon drove to her. >> Wanted her sister to know that she owns a business. She's probably stealing from her. Oh yeah, >> here comes the wife, too. >> The suspect dropped off the purse at the restaurant earlier in the day, but not the items inside. The original contents of the bag are still unaccounted for with cash, a wallet, and jewelry still gone. The officer warns that the total amount missing could make a big difference in how this case unfolds. >> So then I said to her, "Listen, this is what happened." Blah blah blah. She was mortified. She was She's pulling up right now. I'm like, "Oh my god." So then she goes, "I'll call you right back." So she hung up with me and calls me back and she said Shannon got there and uh Shannon was like, "I found a lump when she was pregnant." She's like, "Fuck you. You're liar. You stole her purse." >> And so she's like, "No, I didn't." And she's like, "Don't lie to me." She's like, "Okay, I did." So >> then she came here and brought the purse, you know. >> She's lucky I didn't feed her. >> Best that you didn't. >> Well, I was I mean, at first I was like raging. I wanted to, right? And she came in with her stupid soft story crying. And then while we were walking in the car, I was getting more pissed. And I did push her. I'm not going to lie. She's lucky. That's all I did do. But she threw away all my IDs, all my credit cards, no money. Did she say where did she throw them all? >> She told Joe. Joe, did she tell you she blew all the money? >> She blew all the money. >> No. Did she tell you that? >> Yeah, she told me she blew all the money. >> Okay. And so then my credit cards, my IDs, all that that I >> Yeah. Did she say what she did with that? She No, she said they weren't in there. She ditched them because she was probably nervous the day you talked to her on Friday that >> who knows what's going to happen, but she wasn't going to throw out my purse cuz it's $1,300. So, that would have been a nice score. So, she kept my purse and ditched all the identification, all my credit cards, ID. So, that's >> cuz I have I have to talk to her and ask her where she ditched all of that. Um, so I just got to confirm exactly. >> She's saying it wasn't in there. >> So, of course. >> Yeah. >> And she also said there was only what? >> $600. >> Yeah. when I had like close to $3,000 in there or might have been a little over. I don't know. I got to look through all my books because he gave me a thing that I was going to make a deposit. >> Do you have Do you have like a copy of that deposit that you were going to make? >> We don't make There's no copies of them. You know what I mean? Like you just >> um Is there any >> I called my insurance company though and I let them know what's going on. So he said >> he told me all the stuff I need to give him. So he said write him an email, put A, B, C, and D in there and then you know they'll take it from there. The officer now works on gathering more evidence, including a full list of the items that were reportedly stolen. >> Okay, tell me what it is that you want me to >> um send me the picture of the purse and then the wallet >> if you have that. Um if you're looking for the bracelet. Okay. >> Um and then you said it was $300 cash. Um >> it was right around there. I got to look at and see like through my computers and see what's what, but I don't know if I'm going to have an exact receipt, but I had like I I don't know. I got to I can't tell you the exact amount. I And I'm still thinking about stuff that I had in there. Like my credit cards. I don't even know. >> I'm going through them all, but I don't even know exactly which ones I had in there. I don't see any charges on anything or any alerts. So, >> I don't think she used any of them. I think she got rid of them. >> Okay. Um, >> as far as the money goes, I would need the exact amount on there. uh only cuz I have to bring this to the seat attorney and they're going to ask me. >> So I'll have to sit down with him and like go through our computers and see what we can figure out for an exact amount. >> Okay, sounds good. Um I will wait for that and then you said you have the audio of her and video of her coming in. Um you can send that to me as well. >> Okay. >> And then um let me talk to them and see what >> Okay. U so you're the brother? >> Yes. >> Okay. So did she come to you and tell you this? >> Absolutely not. I found out today at uh about 11. >> Did you call her? >> Well, I don't know how the how's that work and >> she's she texted me and said call me. I was half listening because I'm at work and >> work she knows everything. However, >> yeah, he kind of get a little >> she she >> I'm probably the one that I talk to. >> Yeah. Yeah, for sure. Uh, let me just put the address where she cuz she's living with you, right? >> No, she's not. Not anymore. >> And we don't have to go over there, right, to not neighbors, right? >> No, we don't have to go. >> I'll promise you she's not there. >> Um, do you know where she lives? >> Where she lives? >> Yeah. >> Couldn't tell. Though the suspect isn't at the scene, the victim managed to contact her older sister who stepped in and ultimately persuaded the suspect to give the purse back. Now the officer takes the sister statement. >> Okay. >> Okay. So, she came to you and told you this or what happened? >> No. Maryanne called me today and to to tell me what had happened. And um Shannon got home from work this morning and um as we were actually still on the phone and I'm like she's home. Let me call call you back. Um I lost my >> Oh, you were at home. I'm sorry. I thought she was at work. That's why I was like she was at home. >> I was getting ready for work to be with a client. No, I was I had a I already had a bad morning this morning with finding caregivers. So it was already a great start to the day. But um so no um I was um she came home I lost me her I said what you know what's wrong with you blah blah blah I was very intimidating to her and then she started to spewing lies and lies and lies and like you're lying you're lying you're lying and finally she started saying another lie and I'm like you're lying and I anyway um and she said you're right I am lying I'm like give me the purse right now like give me the purse. And she said, "I'm bringing it there right now." I said, "No, give it to me." Then she walked out the door. >> Okay. >> And she did. She did came. I'm shocked. But she came here and I called her to tell her that she was on her way. She actually did come. >> She did. >> And that's >> What time was that that she brought it back? >> Probably 11. >> 10 to 11. Exactly. >> Yeah. Because I know I we had been talking for at least since like maybe 10:30, 10 or 11. I know it was 11:00 cuz I said I have to be at like 10 minutes. I was supposed to be in my office to pick up a caregiver and then be at an at 11:30, but I pushed it back to you. It all worked out. >> Whatever. >> All right. And then what is your first and last thing? >> The visit ends, but the clock is ticking. The suspect has a small window to surrender voluntarily before the case moves forward with a warrant. >> That way, I don't have to go to the warrant route. It's much easier if we just get it all done and set, you know, and go in and talk to you and do whatever she needs to get. It would be a lot easier than her get arrested and all that. >> Not that you guys said that she would turn herself in today and you're like, I don't know how I didn't get. >> All right. Well, and who knows to be honest with you with the race she is. I don't know. She's liable to come back here again and try to apologize. I don't know what she's capable of doing, but >> honestly, that kind of sounds like her after a long after time she sent it and do something like that. >> That's kind of like how I feel her personality is. So, I don't know. But we'll just stay in touch if something like that does happen. >> In the meantime, if I hear anything, I'll let you know or send it to that phone and I'll send you all the stuff by noon. >> Yeah. So, yeah, just send me that stuff. I'll get everything started and then uh we'll go from there. >> Thank you so much. >> Absolutely. Yep. No problem. >> Thank you. got to bring cameras so we know if she's come there or not and I can just keep posted if I >> Yeah. If she does come, just let her know that, you know, we're looking for her and just >> Oh, I'll tell her to go to the police department. It would be a lot easier for >> her. It'd be best if it was uh either today or tomorrow or Monday cuz then other officers don't really know what's going on. >> That's why I waited for you to come on before I called and did all >> Yeah. Yeah. I know for sure. >> Okay. I'll let her know I find her tomorrow and talk to me and then we'll go from there. >> All right. No problem. You guys have a good night. Yep. Thank you. >> The suspect eventually turned herself in and as expected, she was formally charged with felony theft. What do you think? Did they get what they deserved? Let me know in the comments and I'll catch you in the next
