But the moment they check his mouth, the man's attitude changes. >> Uh, I don't know what the dentist say. Uh, >> this uh, hey. >> Okay. No, hold on. Don't move. Don't move. Open your mouth. Just my nose. >> You bleeding anywhere? >> Hands. >> Yeah. >> What began as a simple shoplifting case quickly escalates. While the suspect only took less than $200 worth of merchandise, officers found a controlled substance and soon realized that the 32year-old suspect may be wanted on three active warrants, including one with no bail. >> Sure. >> You want to be seen by an ambulance? No. >> I'm good, dude. >> No. Um, >> no, >> it's a swallow in front of me. >> Sure. >> Listen, I don't want you to >> You look like you're tripping out. Listen, >> you swallow. >> I know. I just want to say 1375 reaching out to you. >> She's saying that he's the ex-boyfriend. >> We do the backpack yet? >> Yes. >> The black backpack and the red >> ex-boyfriend. Hold on. Leonell. >> So this might actually have some on it. >> Oh, >> I found that. There you go. >> Check this. This is >> You found the You found the the thing. >> Yeah. >> He lied about his last name. It's V E L O. See that name? >> 22. >> 22. >> Got it. All right. utilizing stuff. >> After confirming his identity, the suspect was hit with a long list of charges, including shoplifting, obstructing the administration of law by flight, burglary, hindering apprehension by providing false information to the police, and possession of CDS paraphernalia. Number four, man was already in trouble. Then officers discovered something worse. On January 22nd, 2025, officers in Skakus, New Jersey were dispatched to a Walmart after staff reported an active shoplifting in progress. Here's what unfolded when they made contact with the suspect. >> So, you're Derek? >> Yes, sir. >> The last name squab. >> Can you spell that for me? D I P A S Q U A L E. >> All right. Where do you currently live? >> Okay. But you have an ID like New Jersey state ID? >> I do. It's in the system. I just don't physically have it. >> Okay, that's good. >> The 43year-old didn't just hide small items. He tried to sneak out with a whole watermelon in his bag. And with everything caught on surveillance, his actions speak for themselves. >> You got the video. >> Middle name. >> Anthony 207. I have a party before you can run all around. >> First name is Dary Delta Echo Romeo Algo Kilo. Middle initial Alpha. Last name Delta India Papa Alpha Sierra Quebec. Uniform Alpha Lima Echo. Peter B. I asked him I asked him to give me a print out, >> but they were able to write down [snorts] the number. >> Where's that paper you wrote down? Another bag on you violated it. >> Huh? Have you violated? >> Have you got any mail? >> Huh? >> Have you got any mail from the courts? >> Any mail? What do you mean? >> So, I got a court date tomorrow. >> Things quickly escalate when officers learn the suspect is already on probation, making this far more serious than a typical shoplifting call. And since he's already talking, they read him as Miranda before asking anything more. Thank you for having me. >> Hold on. Your right to remain silent. I say won't be used against you in the court of law. Attorney if you can't be appointed rights. >> What were you taking from here today? What were you taking from here today to >> snacks? Watermelon. >> The watermelon bag, right? I don't know. Everything came out the bag. out of curiosity why sound things. >> At this point, the man admits everything. He says he was just hungry and looking for shelter. [music] The officers may empathize with his situation, but they make it clear that what he did still comes with consequences. some quick money. A quick place to warm you. That's my >> use by choice or you is it for court for probation? >> No, no, no. I decided to leave it. Um doing the best I can. I don't have an ID. Hard to get a job. because it's on their turn. >> You're still on probation. >> Today was my first day meeting my probation. I was on a pre-trial before pre not pre-trial intervention, but pre-trial monitoring. What was that for? The >> October, but today was the day put me on. >> They were supposed to wait till October. You said >> you said you were going to wait till October. >> No, no, that's when they were supposed to put me on. I got sent in foration and they kept me on the monitor. >> His lack of identification immediately raises a red flag and the officers don't let it slide. Meanwhile, the [music] man is quick to offer up an excuse. >> Yesterday, >> seems like you're trying to do good, but >> I'm doing the best I can. Good stuff. >> Can't get a job because I have no ID. >> Did you go to the DMV yet or no? >> I couldn't because I didn't have any way. documentation for you. Exactly. >> You bring uh >> Yeah, I got it. >> What? The mail? >> No, the the ID number. >> Okay. >> With that, I was able to change the address on the the DMV in the system. >> Uhhuh. >> I was going to order it today, but I have money. I went from my end to give me $25 order. Oh yeah. He said that this is the second the second time that he didn't stop. So [clears throat] this >> second time. >> That's what he said. But I You can use a different name. I >> just left. Is this your first time at Walmart shop? This one? >> To make matters worse, officers learned this isn't his first time being banned from a Walmart. Were you trespassing here last time? >> Trespassing? >> Yeah. No. >> Did you sign a form saying that you weren't allowed to be here for >> this one? No. >> This Walmart? No. >> Which one? Which Walmart was it? It was the one in North Bergen. But that was for three days. Guy told me >> um the guy told me to sign paperwork. Huh? told me to um sign paperwork. They took a picture of me and he said don't come back for 3 days. After the 3 days, you can come back because I got bigger fish to fry than somebody was taking minimal amounts of money for people that are stealing TVs and things like that. And then I saw the guy three days later one more ID and he asked me how I was doing. I said good. >> After securing the trespass documents and confirming the store's intent to press charges, the officers move in, but the man doesn't go quietly. >> All right, man. Do me a favor and just stand up for me. You just put the phone away. Okay. All right. Just turn around. All right. You be placed under arrest. Okay. >> But you said I wouldn't be placed under arrest. He gave me his He gave me his word. >> You said that. So that's on him. But it's going to be for us. Huh? Can you please let my know I'm being locked up? >> Listen, I don't want my partner or any of us to get sick or any needles. Do you have anything on me? You have anything on you that's don't for you have anything else on you something on you It's the second search that delivers the blow. The bags contain evidence that quickly escalates what began as a shoplifting call. All right, now the time to start being honest. Now I'm going to start asking you some questions. It's going to go very differently in about 30 minutes if you're not. right now being picked on. I'm before you start answering stuff they don't even know I'm going to have. You're about to be really jammed up. So, who is this? I don't know. Got a bag and that went in. I threw it in my bag. I don't know what that is. I don't know the flat pick up. This is an outer. You can't see you can't see that because it's in your purse. You have about 10 different IDs for the same person with socials, not yours. These are all fake pictures. So, >> I'm pretty sure that's all fake. Period. And it's in your possession. So >> I found this stuff up. >> Okay. >> I don't do that. If I did, if I make that's not smarter than you and I both know. With everything confirmed, the officers escort the 43-year-old suspect out of the store and toward the waiting cruiser. So, you said you've been arrested before, right? has been a couple times over here. >> We got to find out. your stuff. I'm going to put it up in the back. Okay. >> For his actions, the suspect was charged with shoplifting, credit card theft, and carrying forged government documents. Number three, shoplifter thought playing dumb would get him out of arrest. He thought wrong. On February 22nd, 2025, officers responded to a call from Walmart after loss prevention spotted a man concealing merchandise. When they arrived, Walmart security was already tracking him live on camera. Here's how officers handled the case. >> Him? >> Yeah. >> Wait, I mean, >> are you >> like like that guy? >> The older white male with brown coat. Our pants, our jacket, our shirt, our belt. >> No way. [laughter] >> No way. All right. Is there anything in the show? >> Well, you know him or No. >> No. Just >> not typical shop, but it could be anybody. >> Yeah. >> Was it the guy you're looking for? >> No, I I He's right here. >> Your guy. Your guy. >> Just the loss prevention task force. Three guys at one time. >> I know, right? >> Yeah. Stepping it up. I'm enforcement. >> I I just can't. I can't. >> What's up? >> I just I when he said I was the shopper store, I said there's no way. >> Yeah. >> Oh, yeah. Blue collar shopper. >> Yeah. >> Flashes out for hidden runs. Okay. >> All right. We'll just wait for him to be gone. >> He might be a bit Who was here for uh >> who was here for uh Mr. >> Huh? The old man that faked the heart attack. >> No, I think that's the me and you. But he ended up dying two days later. >> Yeah. >> He ended up dying two days later. >> Yeah. No joke. >> Oh, of a heart attack. A heart attack. Yeah, he went to jail and then got released and died. >> Oh my. >> Yeah, >> but he was like he was like a professional he was like a professional underbringer. Like [clears throat] >> like thousands of dollars under >> According to the loss prevention staff, the man has been busy. The suspect changed into stolen clothes, ate food without paying, and now he's back to hiding merchandise. What he doesn't know is that the police are watching it all unfold. >> I got a closer look. Yeah. >> Yeah. I'm like, that's why I was like, >> I know, but that's why he was saying like >> guarantee it's like 51. >> Oh, I'll leave that out there. >> That tan jacket is yours. The jacket, the shirt, the pants, the belt. [laughter] >> Everything but everything. >> Where is he? >> I don't even know >> that. He's ditching items. >> Yeah, that looks stolen. >> He just ditched something right here. >> Where? >> Right here. >> Want to walk in there? >> Well, he's you still got something in his hand. >> Hey, you. Of course. I'm pretty sure he was eating our food, too. No, >> cuz we found I found a fork where he ditched where we thought he'd get a tag. >> He did have fruit and fruit >> and he was throwing uh fruit on the shelves. >> Actually, there's no more fruit on his cart. >> Way more than give a goldfish to your kid while you're shopping. >> Yeah. >> Still pay for it. >> Yeah, but that's that's >> different kinds, you know. I used to eat the grapes. >> I was going to say you got to wait. >> All right, no more food talk. I'm starving. [laughter] >> No, I've already been here 4 hours. >> He's making sure he's keeping all the products here, you know. >> While he's there, let me snip just in case. It wasn't until he walked right past the checkout and headed for the exit that officers closed in, catching him just as he thought he'd gotten away with it. >> Go ahead. Go ahead in the office right here. All right. >> He's just going to frisk you for weapons right now. Okay. Here you go. Oscar [snorts] Gray Audi. >> You have a boxer on >> Do you have any weapons? >> Do you have any weapons? >> Oh, got something right here. I'm not sure if it is. >> You like a knife or No. >> All right. Um, >> something difficult. >> Yeah. >> Go ahead. Take this coat off. [laughter] >> All right. Go ahead. Sit down. >> All right. So, do you understand English? Well, >> so so >> what? Well, I'm going to have to read you your Miranda rights, okay, before I ask you any further questions. Do you understand that >> questions? I know. >> You have the right to remain silent, okay? Do you understand? >> Yes or no? >> Sure. >> Uh, sir, stand up for me. >> Sir, stand up for me. >> All right, turn around. Turn around this way. >> All right, we're going to go under torch him and then ask question. They got him in restraints and started the process reading as Miranda writes. But just as things should have moved forward, the man found another way to slow everything down. >> Do you understand? >> Yes. >> Okay. Anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law. >> Do you understand? >> No. >> You don't understand briefly explain. >> Okay. So if in court it what you say to me can be used. Okay. Anything that you say can be used in the court. >> At the court. >> The court. What language do you speak? What language? >> Georgia. >> Miranda, I guess. >> Yeah, you could. >> So, if you give us a statement, it could be used. So, this is going to go to court because it's a criminal it's a criminal charge. Okay. You're going to be charged with shoplifting. Do you understand that? >> Chocolate and stealing, theft. >> You understand that? Okay. So, if you give us a statement, if you talk to us about it, that can be used against you in a court >> for that charge, but try Russian >> similar dialect >> like before a judge. >> Does it you understand? Okay. [snorts] Little over 100. >> I thought you said the jack was. >> Well, I already got the pants and that and I'm already I'm already over 50. >> Oh, okay. >> You want this stuff? >> What? >> Oh, thanks. The man tells officers he only understands Russian. So they bring in a translator to make sure he fully understands his rights and the situation he's in. >> You do anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law. >> Yes. >> You understand? You have the right to talk to a lawyer and have him present with you while you are being questioned. Do you understand? >> You have the right to talk to a lawyer and have him present with you while you were being questioned. [snorts] Do you understand? I'm taking scroll. You just scroll up. You had it. >> Scroll. Is that it still? >> This is it. Yeah. Okay. >> I have no idea. >> You don't know? >> I have. Where is Abdukash? >> Do do you understand what this is saying? >> Yes. >> Okay. So, do do you understand that you can have a lawyer present with you? >> If you cannot afford to hire a lawyer, one will be appointed at no cost to represent you before any questioning. If you wish one. Do you understand? >> I want you want a lawyer. >> Okay. >> In total, the suspect had tried to take $218 worth of goods. And based on what the officers will discover next, it looks like he had this theft planned before even walking through the door. >> He agreed to understand and we're in. >> Um, so we just got to wait for we're just going to wait for our final receipt >> so we know the total merchandise. [clears throat] >> What we doing with his shopping cart? the things that you did pay for stuff you pay for or you can have it. >> I'm saying like are we throwing it in the car now or >> I mean I don't see why not you know >> where where's your card your credit card >> in the car? How'd you pay? How'd you pay for the stuff over here? >> What? >> How did you pay? >> So phone tap. >> Okay. >> Um also before we even go anywhere work on getting name, date of birth, all that stuff. Is your ID in the car? >> I have no ID. I have only a driver's license. >> Where is that? >> What is that? >> Where? Where? >> In my car. >> In your car. >> He's car parking. >> Yeah. >> Check. >> Is it okay if I get your license? >> Okay. No problem. >> That's okay. You can refuse. I was just asking so we know who you are. That's okay. >> No problem. >> Okay. >> I can't tell you where it is. Okay. Where is it? >> Where where I sit in my car [music] over there. >> You open that beside >> in the center console where you want those. >> Okay. >> Do uh his hood his hood and stuff in there or do you want to bring it back? >> It's his as far as we know. >> Yeah. >> No, I don't. But do you want to take it with you or put >> Yeah. No. Well, what's that? take it back with you or put it in the truck cuz the shirt the shirt belongs to Walmart also. Yeah. >> Yeah. But they're not taking it back. >> Okay. >> It's already It's already >> I mean Yeah. He wants to put it in the car. >> That's what I was I didn't know. >> Is it okay if I put that in your car? >> Okay. >> That's okay. >> With the suspect caught red-handed, the officers decide there's no need for further questioning. After all, they have more than enough reason to take him in. We're putting this in your truck. Okay. >> Where's your car? Where's your car? Back that way. >> Where Where's your car at? >> What color is it? >> White. >> White. >> Oh, that van. >> The Ram. Last pile over here on my right. What's up? >> Take that. >> Can't even do anything on your phone. >> Nope. Got to leave it in the back. >> How'd you take the seat belt? I usually wrap it around. That's That's how my other FTO had it. >> Where was it at? >> It was over here. >> The seat belt set up so that when he sits in, you don't have All you have to do is just take it out and put it in instead of reaching across them. You get what I mean? >> You see I got to do all that playing around now. >> Yeah. What's the best way to Before heading to the station, officers bring the man to his car, which is set to be towed since the store won't allow him back on the property. And before it's hauled away, a search of the vehicle is in order. >> All right. Use the app to ask for >> I'll bring I'll bring his car over. >> Okay. What? >> Use the Google Translate app to ask for consent to search the car. >> You know, make sure you say he's got the right to refuse. >> All right. You want to hold on to him while I do it? Okay. >> Yes. >> Yes. Okay. >> No problem. >> Okay. We have cassette to search your truck. >> No problem. >> No problem. Okay. Just wait there. >> Get away from him. do it cuz he's bringing the car around. What happens to >> try to find like a better >> boat? >> Yeah. Yeah. We're just waiting for somebody. We're waiting. >> It's my trailer. Yeah, that's fine. Yeah, >> is not mine. The trailer is mine. >> Uh, it's a nice car. >> Trailer is nice, too. But the car >> is not mine. >> No. >> He's quick to claim the car isn't his, and it's not hard to see why. A quick search of the suspect's vehicle would later reveal illicit substances and a fraudulent Pennsylvania license. >> I must deliver this car. >> Delaware. >> Delivery. >> Delivery. Okay. All right. Bring him over. We're going to go back to the car. Okay. >> Okay. All right. Keep the door open and you can tell us that when you close the door and open the window. The stolen merchandise earned him a shoplifting charge, but the car search made things worse, leading to forgery and dangerous illegal substance charges. The suspect was later released while awaiting his court appearance. Number two, it's never a good sign when the cops know you by name. On September 26th, 2024, officers responded to a shoplifting call at Walmart. But the moment the primary officer arrived, he recognized the suspect right away. She's no stranger to law enforcement. >> Hi. >> Oh, hey. What up? Did you tell them where you were yet? >> No. >> Okay. Tom 15. Our suspect will be Jana. Stand by on birthday. Hey, when were you born today? Um, >> okay. I mean, >> y'all, >> she's not going to be your birthday, but she is in local, if you can just check her. What' you say? >> Y'all look me up in the system. That's the same way you're going to get. >> Well, I already got you. You're a pretty recognizable person. Um, all right. >> Then why ask my birthday if I'm already in the system? >> Well, it makes it easier. What happened today? >> I stole some food. That's what happened. >> What did you steal? >> Food. >> What? Like what specifically? >> Food the kind that you eat. >> Oh, okay. All right. You guys got You guys want to pursue charges and stuff? >> Yes. >> How much is it? >> Well, it's a lot more than just food. So, the clothes she's wearing are ours. >> And then we didn't even want to we didn't feel comfortable going through the cuz that card out there is hers. >> I think these are normal actually the same type of clothes at their mall. It's more of our stuff in there. We didn't feel comfortable going [music] >> or urine or something. >> What's up? [snorts] >> No, the clothes that were already in my bag, those are already mine to begin with. >> Hello. >> I am homeless. That's why they smell. >> Yeah. All right. >> So, those clothes that were already in there, it's because I just started my period. So, that's why there's blood on there. >> Yeah. >> So, all those other clothes in there, those are mine. >> All right. And the clothes you have on right now are from here. >> From normal. Yes. >> From normal Walmart or here? >> Normal. I don't know how many how many times I have to repeat myself. Normal. [snorts] Normal. Normal. >> Uh yeah, she's meeting with somebody. >> She's what? >> She's meeting with somebody. >> Due to the condition of the clothes, dirty and unfit for resale, the store won't take them back. And regardless of the low value, they're moving forward with charges. So, you guys got video and stuff for taking the stuff today? >> Yeah. >> Do you know how much approximately it would be? >> Um, I think it's going to be under >> Yeah, under 300. >> Okay. >> You uh >> you don't I mean, if you guys aren't super concerned with the bloody clothes, we aren't either. >> Yeah. No, that's fine. But I the back ours. >> Okay. So, she came in wearing the Jack whatever out [snorts] costume or pajamas or whatever that on the top of the car. >> Okay. >> Yes.
