These folks are used to getting their way, but in these cases they're dealing with officers who don't care about who they are or what they drive. Here are five cases when rich privileged Karens get humbled by cops. Number five, when lying over a bad restaurant order leads to unexpected charges. On September 15th, 2024, officers in Highland Park, New Jersey were called to a local restaurant after staff reported a woman causing a disturbance, apparently upset over how her burger was served. Here's what she had to say when officers arrived. What's going on today? Hello. Why are they calling for you? They're calling for me? Yes, they pointed you out saying you were destroying the restaurant. Um, well, the man asked me to come behind the register. He asked me to and you can watch the camera. >> For sure. Uh >> He asked me to come behind the register. Okay. >> And all I wanted was a fresh cheeseburger. That's literally all I wanted. Okay, well, I guess that's >> That's all I wanted. He touched me. He assaulted me. He I don't know if that's assault or battery. I don't know the difference. >> now I'm going to have to get your information, okay? >> He assaulted me. Do you have your identification? Yeah, I do. He assaulted me. And again, all I wanted was a fresh burger. Okay. Do you have your ID? He stole my money. He threw He took my burger out of my hand and threw it in the garbage. He stole my money. He stole my money and on top of that touched me. He assaulted me. He touched me here. He Do you have your identity? harassed me. >> We'll get to that. Do you have your me. So, he called the cops on me because he asked me to come behind the counter. And then on top of that, he took my burger out of my hand and threw it in the garbage. I understand that this is Highland Park and I'm a black woman. I understand that this is Highland Park and I am a black woman. >> None of that matters. >> Well, I did absolutely nothing wrong until he assaulted harassed me. Now that officers have heard the woman's side and her accusations, it's time to speak with the restaurant staff who made the call. Man, I got the video. Video's coming over. came in here and went behind the counter and threw She's a witness for sure. I'm sure he's a witness. Started throwing stuff around. So I don't know. He said that can you make my my burger? I said, "Okay, can you stay over there? You can check the burgers how we cook them." And she she cooked over here and she messed up all burgers and then came over here. All right, so she went behind the counter, actually? >> Yeah, yeah, yeah. I don't I don't touch anything. >> the bacon and the burgers and threw it against the wall. No, she came over here, sir. And she left, came back, threw the whole conversation. >> [music] >> I don't touch anything, you know what And and her only comment was >> She she came, she said that my burger is not real burger. That's I don't want to touch anything. I said we got the burgers and Holy And she she threw a wire. Oh, yeah, sure. Just video. Yeah. Yep. He's got her down at the two blocks over. She dropped the video and said "Fuck off." She dropped all of these and she did say "Fuck off." She dropped that two blocks over. We'll go down there. We'll go down there. We'll go back here and we'll see her, right? The body cam footage showed she left after the damage caused in here. All right, I need to send that video to my lieutenant. So, should I call How do I call my boss now? If you want to, yeah. Whatever you want to do. I can get that video for you tonight. Back with the woman, [music] the officer, now aware of the details from staff, asks for her ID and begins gathering more information about what led to the disturbance. But I do need your identification. This is my identification. >> Thank you very much. And then he went outside of the store harassing someone else that had nothing to do with the altercation as well. He just went outside harassing another female for absolutely no reason. She was sitting in the restaurant. She said nothing. She did nothing. And all she did was leave. Okay. >> And he came outside and he started recording her and things and that had nothing to do with anything. I'm out here and I'm walking on my own. She did absolutely nothing and he was trying to put the situation on her as well. Okay. Do you know that other person or was it just somebody who wasn't involved? I know her, but she was not involved at all. Okay. She said nothing. She did nothing. She was in her own world. Got you. Got you. Hello. As another deputy joins the conversation, the woman repeats her side, but she's still trying to frame the incident in her favor. Good evening or morning, I should say. Good morning. So, what happened in there? What happened? I just wanted a new burger. Like I literally I'm going to tell you the same thing that I told him. He gave me the burger. I've been going here for a couple weeks now. He gave me the burger and I told him I was like, "This is not a proper quality burger." And he was like, "Oh, that's the burger that we always give you." And I was like, "No, like you know, like I want to I can you please make me a new burger? Like I want a new burger." And then he was like, "Come, come behind the counter. Come, let me show you how we make the burger." So, I was standing behind the burger behind the counter. And he was just like the cook, he of course he's waiting for orders or whatever. And um he was just like, "This is the same quality burger." He took my burger from my hand, threw it in the garbage. He basically was saying he was going to make me a new one. And he took my burger from my hand and threw it in the garbage. He's like, "Oh, like" I'm like, "Okay, so like I'm going to stand here and watch you guys make my burger because I don't want you guys to do anything wrong to it." And he's like, "Oh, no, go, go or I'm going to call the cops." I'm like, "You're going to call the cops on me because you just threw my burger in the garbage, you took my money and I want a new burger. Like it's I just want a fresh burger." And he's like, "Oh, you didn't say you wanted a fresh burger when you ordered." I'm like, "This burger is not the proper quality that you give the rest of your customers. I come I've come here several times and this just is not the proper quality. I just want the burger that I paid for." Uh-huh. That's literally all I was saying. There was two customers in the restaurant at the time. So, he's like, "I'm not giving you a burger. I'm not giving you a burger." And he's calling the cops on me. What are you calling the cops on me for if I just wanted a fresh burger that I get every other night? I just I'm just going home. Like I just wanted a burger. >> So, what was you doing? >> because he didn't give me a burger, I did. And that's it. Like he I wanted my burger and I spent money on stuff and if you don't want to give me a burger, then I'm going to spill your salt and pepper. I need a little bit more than that. No, I just spilled salt and pepper. And you broke things. She doesn't seem to have a clear answer for that, but she's still trying to defend herself anyway. You broke things. >> Salt and pepper gas. No, he asked me to come behind He asked me to come behind He asked me to come behind I would have never come behind the counter if he did not ask me. He told me to come behind the counter because he was like, "Oh, come behind the counter. I'll show you how we make the burgers." That's what he said to me. That's literally what he said to me. I would never have went behind that counter if he did not ask me to. I worked in customer service. First of all, if you First of all, he could feel as though he was in danger if I if I went behind that counter. He asked me to come behind that counter. And I said to him, I said, "You're going to call the cops on me because you asked me to come behind the counter?" I did not go on behind the counter on my own. At all. I don't know what that was. Yeah, but then you you looks like you went and you took all the food and you just No, I I didn't because he took my burger. I spent $12 on that burger. Okay. I got a burger. I got a cheeseburger with extra pickles and extra ketchup and mayonnaise. That's all I wanted. I just wanted the proper burger. It wasn't even about like it was just about the burger and the fact that you're telling me you're going to call the cops on me now and I've been coming here every week. Uh-huh. Every week to get a the same burger. I just wanted the same burger. That's all I wanted. And you're calling the police on me. All right, hold on one second. Ma'am, stay with her. Come here. I think I don't know if you guys were on the phone. You It's a voice Whatever. Everything's recorded. I'm like, "You want to call the cops on me because I want the proper burger?" That's all on your computer, all in your system, everything. I just wanted a the proper burger and I wasn't disrespectful on the audio or anything. I wasn't disrespectful until he told me he wasn't going to give me a burger. Despite the staff claiming that the woman broke restaurant property and refused to calm down, she tells the officers a different story. In her words, she only wanted a refund and [music] that it was the staff who assaulted her in the first place. But mom I I and I also said to him I also said to him, "Give me a refund if you're not going to give me my burger." And he told me no. He told me no. Okay. There's no reason that you shouldn't give me a refund if you're not going to give me the proper burger. Even McDonald's would give me a a refund in two seconds. Like this is not McDonald's. This is not Burger King. That's fast food. This is a restaurant that's open 24 hours. Okay. I should be able to get a refund. You should. I should. So, why did you call us? >> not. That's what I'm saying. I don't know. He told me he was going to call you guys because I said I just wanted a proper burger and because I said I wanted a refund for my burger. That's it. Like, what are you calling the cops on me for? You called the cops before there was even a situation to call the cops for. You antagonized me. You gaslit me. You pushed me to this point and I'm not even trying to like, oh, create this conspiracy. No. This is what actually happened to me tonight. I just left the the club with my friend. I had a great night. I had a wonderful night. I'm like, yeah, let's go to White Rose so we can get burgers. They're open. Like, I like coming to this place. I don't I I I don't understand and this is why I said to you, you know, like I'm in the Palm Park. I don't understand I'm brown because I've been getting I I'm from here. I've been getting that vibe since I've been getting coming here, but I don't care. I'm like, I just want a burger. I was hungry. It's the middle of the night. Sure. You know? So, it's just like, what? Like, you're calling the cops on me because I just want a refund because I want a burger I just want the proper burger. Like, everything that happened after that, cool. I I understand. But, before that, no. I just wanted my refund or a proper burger. And I didn't even say that I wanted a refund until like he threw my burger in the garbage. Like, you can go in there and see either one of you if you want to. My burger's in the garbage behind the counter, not in the front of the counter, behind the counter. It's in the garbage. She now claims she was calm the entire time, saying she simply asked for a refund before the staff allegedly called police to make her look like the aggressor. And I was being just like this and he touched my burger. I said, "Okay, so now you're touching my burger, so you're going to throw you're going to throw it out." And he's like, "Yeah, I'm throwing in the garbage. You can get a new burger." I'm like, "Okay." I'm going to watch you guys while you make my burger because I don't want you guys to do anything wrong to my burger because I understand that you're upset with me right now. And then he's like, "Oh, just go. Just go." What do you mean, just go? Okay, if you're telling me to go, can I get my refund? He's like, "Oh, no, I'm not giving you a refund. I'm calling the police on you." What are you calling the police on me for? I just want a refund. And like I said, that's on your computer audio when he called you. More than likely, you can hear my voice in the background. Like, I'm not screaming. I'm not yelling. I'm not crying. I'm not being malicious. I'm just like, are you serious? Now, what You were saying he put his hands on you? He did. He touched me here. And when did that happen? When I was behind the counter and he was like, "Oh, can you go? I'm going to tell him to go over there and talk. So, he he was calling the owner. Mhm. See if the owner does want to pursue it or not. Yeah, I guess. I mean, no matter what, I mean, at the bare minimum, just short-handed. Do it on the e-ticket. Yeah. I understand. After reviewing the footage and hearing her side, officers are clear on what needs to be done. But, the woman still isn't finished talking. When you grow up and you're my parents taught me something a little bit different than your parents did, I'm pretty sure. So, um that's not a lesson that I was taught. I mean, of course I can try to learn those things, but that's not a lesson that I was raised on. Um and if someone calls the cops on you, then you call the cops on them, that's not really it doesn't really help you. It's kind of like telling on the teacher and then the other student coming and telling the I'm a teacher. If someone was If someone was doing something something wrong to you, I mean, it it wouldn't matter cuz he's in the wrong. used more than once. So, it's not like SOMETHING THAT'S LIKE, NO. BUT, it did happen. >> about the refund. You're talking about the You said if somebody's doing something Well, it's a refund. He can say whatever he wants to say and I've been in situations where it's like, "Okay, well, ma'am, leave." And it's like I literally just wanted my $2, you know? Like, I'm like right now I'm dealing with the police. Mhm. You say that it doesn't matter, but in society, it matter I'm a black woman, you know what I'm saying? And I you're know you're like, but realistically, I'm brown, you know? It's different. So, like, all I can give you is my truth and my reality, you know what I'm saying? That's it. I didn't see the store. How was it? There's there's salt and there's pepper and sugar. And there's broken glass everywhere. There's hamburgers. There's bacon thrown everywhere also. There's no denying the disturbance she caused at the restaurant. But, even now, she follows up the officers' words with yet another [music] attempt to justify her actions. But, there's also money that's in the system that's mine that I did not get. So, therefore if you're going to give me your if you >> Okay, but >> Yeah, you understand what I'm There was a cycle and it's not okay. My reaction to the situation was definitely immature. It was definitely just extremely ill, but you stole my money at that point. You took you took my burger from my hands that you gave me that I already explained to you was, you know, not good quality. >> I agree on your argument on that aspect. And like then you harassed another brown lady outside of your store. It becomes bigger than me. And then it's just like, what are you doing? And then it's like, "Oh, no. I'm going to follow you down the street." And it's like, what are you Leave me alone. But, you understand >> me >> No, no, no, no. But, you understand whatever beforehand what the more and the more severe or the more issue we're having right now is the damage and all the the the problem and the loss. Okay? That's what we're dealing with. >> pepper and glass. Right. >> So, you want me to give the money for the >> counts, okay? Criminal mischief and disorderly conduct, okay? So, we're right now we're on the trying to get on the phone with the owner of the business not doing to proceed or not. He just took my burger. That's the That I I I gave you a point on that aspect. like $12. It's the same amount as my burger. Right. I get that. >> Literally. Okay, but that doesn't make it right. How bad is it? Huh? How bad is it? I didn't I didn't see the store. Okay. Probably going to hook her. Okay. All right. She admitted that she did it, too. >> Yeah, I know. Huh? And she was also saying that he like assaulted her and stuff and touched her or whatever. I don't The officers inform her that she's now banned from the restaurant. But, rather than leaving, she tries to ask them for a favor. I'm going to go. I'm just going to use your phone. Whatever. Are you guys going to take me home if you >> you live? On Eastern Avenue. We don't have a car. You can't I mean, you can call an Uber or you can Unfortunately, there's only three of us. There's only three of I know. There's three cars. Yeah, that's it. That's all it's working, so. You could she can call you if she wants. All right. Okay. It's the Palm Park Police Department. It's quick. But, unfortunately I mean these are circumstances, so. All right. Yes. Glasses. This happened one time. I'm not going to cry this time. >> that. Okay. I'm going to put this in my I'm going to turn it off. That's fine. Sorry, guys. >> Okay. Hey, do you have your um your license and stuff with you? No. I put it in my purse. Okay, I have the number for it, so. What do you need? I nothing. I have it. You have her number? Okay, well, thanks, babe. Okay. >> to interrupt the transmission. Let's go. All right. Just don't You sure you don't Okay, thank you. And then I'm just going to touch you here so you can All right. I'm just going to pull the sleeve up so it's not caught in there for you. Yeah, that's fine. I'm not going to cry. It's fine. I'm going to lock those so they don't tighten up on you or anything. Uh yeah, when I went over there to talk. Yeah. I'm going to put this up for you a little bit. Thank you. Thank you for being cooperative. The more cooperative you are with us, We'll just get it out and get you done quicker, okay? You know, reactions ha- actions have reactions and glasses and everything regardless of whether he put his hands on me or you guys. All right, let's go. It doesn't matter. Okay. It's like like that, right? Well, I appreciate it. All right. I appreciate it. I'm going to grab that side here. Let me just go I told him Yep, he followed up. In addition to being permanently banned from the hamburger restaurant, the woman was charged with criminal mischief for the damage caused and was released pending a court date. Number four. Entitled doctor learns the hard way that a wrong coffee order isn't worth getting a citation for. On August 24th, 2025, officers were dispatched to a Starbucks after staff reported an aggressive customer who was upset about his drink. He allegedly cursed at employees, dumped the drink, broke the tip jar, and blocked the drive-thru. Here's what he has to say when officers arrived. Are you able to pull around so we can talk to you over here? 40 at 28 Pull it around here. Right there? Who should not be working here? Who is somebody for 20 years I've had two issues. Both of them was have been with that. I ordered a drink, I wanted a drink, they couldn't make it, I told them to give me a refund. He said something about calling the cops and calling a manager and and filming my shirt. Okay. So, I'm getting two stories. Obviously, I'm getting your story and they're telling me that you threw a cap, you're yelling at them, yelling profanities, you broke the tip jar. Okay. Well, Is freedom of speech not allowed in this country by by my family >> You can do that, but you got to do it in the right way. All right? If you had an issue >> anybody? They said that you did. You were yelling them names, you broke the tip jar. >> threat. Okay. So, they want to sign complaints for disorderly on you. Okay? Go right ahead. Okay. Uh Because there's probably >> attack on them. Okay. Well, your story is not the same as their story. Okay. So, they didn't do anything wrong. They might have made the wrong call. >> licensed physician. I've been a physician since 1990. You think I'm going to [ __ ] up my my career for this So, when I say when I say a complaint, it's a local ordinance. It's not like um you got to go to the Skokie courthouse and it's it's within Northbrook. You You deal with it there. They will have to respond. It will get taken care of there on scene. It doesn't go on your >> my money back. That's what I told them. That's what I told them. >> Did they give you your money back or no? Okay. Did you get Did you get a drink? No. Okay. If you want, since there's probably going to be more people coming through, we can try and go figure this out inside I would just like my money back. That's all I That's all I wanted in the first place. Okay. I I have to organize that between them and you. Like I can't just go in there and >> you want me to do and I'll do it. I'd like you to pull around so that way we don't interfere that. Wally does what he's told. His words make it clear that he sees himself as the victim. However, the officer isn't overlooking the way he treated [music] staff or their own team. I mean, I'm such a hardened criminal. I think you should get about another 12 cops right now. That makes a lot of I have absolutely no record whatsoever. I'm not saying Look, sir. All right? We always come in pairs just cuz we don't know what we're going into. >> you should get a few more pairs. Okay. Did Did uh you dump some coffee on the side of your car or what? Some coffee on the side. >> to get my refund and in doing so, I tried to demonstrate to him he had the wrong drink. I've had two issues here. Two issues in the last 20 years. I've had lovely dealings with Bernie and Liz and I can I can name countless other people. >> not saying I wasn't here to witness any of this, okay? So, I'm not saying you did anything wrong. I'm not saying that I wasn't here, okay? But if there's an issue with your drink, there's probably a better way to go about fixing it, all right? Two issues in 20 years, to me that's not a lot considering this place can get busy. But just be like, "Hey, this is the wrong drink. Can you remake it or can you give me my money back?" There's no need to start yelling. >> before. He doesn't give a Okay. Well, then maybe ask for someone else and say, "Hey, can I talk to a manager?" >> He claimed to me that his manager is unavailable and he is powerless to do anything else. And I'm trying to calmly and comfortably get a beverage. It's 6:00 in the morning so I can go home. Okay. That's all. I understand. So, I'd like to just relax and go home. Instead, I'm dealing with I understand that, but again, like I'm trying to tell you there's still better ways to go about doing it. I understand maybe you're stressed out, maybe that's causing a lot of this and then that happening, fine. But they called us and that's why we're here to figure it out, okay? So, you did not get your money back. That is correct. You don't have a drink. Correct? >> Okay. All you want is your money back. >> correct. Okay. Can you grab his information? We'll go back in there and see what's going In the end, the staff agrees to refund the man, but that doesn't mean they're letting the man's behavior go unchecked. They're in training. So, of course they're stopping by to observe. Us two are the ones that respond cuz we have no idea what's going Can I perhaps just get my money back and go? >> working on that, but we are going to have to write a local ordinance citation for disorderly conduct. They want to sign complaints. Again, like I explained to you, it's through our Northbrook Just Northbrook at our village hall. You You will be there, they will be there. If they don't show up, then obviously they'll deal with it on that end, but you'll talk to our village prosecutors and work something out at that point. It doesn't go on your state record, nothing like that. It's just within Northbrook. >> Okay. I just want my money back. That's all I want. >> They're working on that right now. I I asked them to see if they can do that. How much was it, do you know? Uh about $7, something like that. >> Okay. Um my partner over here in the training They're going to be handling this, so they're going to be writing the citation for you. So, you got to bear with them for a minute. >> going to accept a citation. That's fine. You can refuse, but you're going to have a a court date at the village hall and if you don't show up >> a court date. That's fine. We'll just write refused on there. Um Are you able to turn in your ID? No. 40 That's the receipt and this is the refund of the the money. Okay. And then if you can just sit tight while they work on the other paperwork, we'll get you >> have a business card, but her name will be on the uh Hold on. You can't Well, that's fine. We'll mail it to your house. Sir. 40, just for information. You can advise that he's leaving the scene. He's refusing to sign the complaint. We'll just drop it or mail it at the residence. He may have left the scene, but not without consequence. He was later charged with disorderly conduct and a citation was mailed to his residence. Number three. Mayor's niece learns the hard way that connections won't save her. On July 5th, 2022, officers pulled over a vehicle due to a broken tail light. Here's what unfolded once they made contact with the driver. I had no idea. They just got out of the car. Where'd they go? That way. Okay. I'm just a passenger. Just passenger, huh? >> Yes, sir. Okay. Whose car is this? I have no idea. I'm in the car with my friend. Just Just Just two people? Huh? Just two people? >> Yes, they just went that way. Where did they run? Who are they? Somebody I just met. Mhm. I'm back here with my purse. Walk back here for me. No. No. No. No. Whoop. Walk back here. Whoop. Right over here. What's your name, ma'am? Stay right here. Right here. In front of my car. Yeah, they just got out and ran. I didn't see anybody run. I saw the car pull over. What What What door did they get out of? That way. And went that way. Okay. And then just closed it. I just met him. I don't know who they are or nothing. Well, allegedly the driver bailed out, but not out of the driver's door, but out the passenger door. All right. Cuz I saw it pull over, but I never saw anybody get out. Just she was sitting in the back seat. Yeah, I'm back there with my purse. Just hang tight. Keys are in the back floorboard with you, too. That's crazy. Crazy. Dude was driving like a dude. Dude, it was floating. I hit a deer. Well, hey, that's good. Where'd she go? Did she walk off? The woman claims she's only a passenger and insists the vehicle belongs to someone else, adding that she's done nothing wrong. Officers begin searching the car regardless, and that's when she makes an unexpected move that escalates everything. DON'T RUN FOR YOUR TASTE. YOU'RE GOING TO JAIL. THAT'S WHAT'S GOING ON. You're going to jail. Why are you chasing me? Cuz you ran. Driving a [ __ ] car and running. I wasn't driving anything. Well, keys are back with you. You're the only one that I saw exit the vehicle. And then you ran. But she shouldn't have taken off running. Oh, yeah. She ran all the way around with car back there in the alley. That was after she So, the car pulls over. I was trying to catch up to it and I watch it pull over. And then no one gets out. And I'm like walking up and there's no one sitting in it. She's in the back seat. Keys are at her feet. She's like, "They went running that way." She's getting out. She's like, "They went running that way." I'm like, "Okay." I was like, "Yeah, come on back here." Chris pulls up. I was just kind of like had her stand there. I look cuz I was like, "Oh, there's I knew there was keys at the floor at her feet." So, I was like, "I'll see if they work for this car." Hit the lock button. I was like, "Oh, keys are literally at your feet, too." I was like, "It's crazy." And she took off running? Yeah, then we went to went to look through it and she took off running. I was like, Deja? Yeah, and Deja don't got going on. With her info under review, she gets defensive fast. She raises her voice, challenges the officers, and tops it off with a startling threat. Is Are you Deja? I'm Deja. Why are you running? Because I'm trying to figure out what Peoria police is behind the car that I'm in. I don't do that. I was just in the car with no warrant. I don't do that. Huh? I don't Peoria police at all. Y'all shoot people do all type of You're going to jail. Fine. That's fine. And I'll file a IA report tomorrow with my report. Remember that. The mayor is my aunt. Remember that. Okay. I'll tell her how you slid from the police. And I'll tell her how you pulled the car over. You know what I mean? It doesn't even have a headlight. You said what? It don't have a headlight. >> It got I just hit a deer the other day. Hit a deer the other day. Yeah. Good. Sure. Come on out.
