but they couldn't find him by 2010 his parents and the authorities gave up and Carlos was declared dead but it turned out that Carlos was very much alive about five years after he was declared dead two mushroom Pickers claimed that they saw Carlos in a nature reserve in Northern Tuscany they said that they saw a man with a long beard who had been living in a reserve for 20 years the two also claimed that Carlos showed them his passport and told him that he was a former psychiatrist who chose to live in seclusion before the three of them parted ways Carlos warned them that he would leave the Nature Reserve because he didn't want to be found Carlos parents immediately flew to Italy from Spain in hopes of seeing their son but they only found his former Camp Carlos parents were both incredibly happy that their son is still alive they claimed that they would respect his wishes and his freedom but they wanted to hug him one last time before letting him go it's unclear whether that Steve was left behind by his biological mother who claimed that Steve was the son of a native in Hawaii needless to say Steve's blue eyes and prayer complexion convinced him that the custodian three children and go undercover using a fake name number 10. missing men found after three decades Edgar La tulip was reported missing in 1986 as he was headed for Niagara Falls the man was allegedly already suffering from developmental delays and mental challenges so his family was concerned for his life it turned out that they had enough reason to be afraid because latulip was never seen again until 30 years later his story will most likely remind you of a Hollywood movie but it's still incredibly tragic La tulip suffered from a head injury during his trip 30 years ago and lost his memory he lived his life while suffering from Amnesia until 30 years later when his memories came back to him while staying at a group home upon remembering his name fifty-year-old latulip finally found his surviving relatives and was reunited with his family number nine we've got your wife on January 17 1985 Denise bolser disappeared Without a Trace and the only clue that her husband found was a note that read we've got your wife and nothing else the authorities thought that she might have been kidnapped or murdered but no real evidence was found that could lead to these possibilities they also considered that perhaps Denise left on her own accord but her family claimed that she had no reason to do so however several months after Denise vanished the workplace accused her of embezzling between twelve thousand dollars to one hundred thousand dollars but the charges were dropped in 1993. it wasn't until 2002 that a private investigator found Denise living under the name Denise James years old at the time and she couldn't do much when a silver car snatched her from the street what's worse her stepfather Carl probin was riding a bike nearby when it happened but he wasn't able to catch up to the car JC's kidnapping haunted the family for almost two decades until 2009 when she was found living in a shed in Philippine Nancy Garrido's house in California according to JC she was kept as a prisoner by the two and she gave birth to two of Philip's children she had no hopes of escaping until she finally managed to call for help Philip was sentenced to 431 years to life in prison while Nancy was sentenced to 36 years to life this was probably not enough to compensate for everything JC had been through but the family was just happy that they finally found their long-lost daughter number five father kidnaps his own child Julian Hernandez grew up with Bobby Hernandez in a home in Ohio it wasn't until he was a teenager applying for college that he discovered the truth behind his identity as a child Julian lived with his mother and father who were living in two separate units at Vestavia Park Apartments in Alabama when he was five years old he suddenly disappeared the investigators had no idea where he was and his case was left open for more than a decade none of the Authority's efforts panned out until 2015 when a school counselor helped Julian to determine why his social security number didn't match his name it didn't take long until they found out that Julian Hernandez was on the national Center for missing and exploited children database his father found alive after being kidnapped Amanda Berry Gina De Jesus and Michelle Knight were all women who mysteriously disappeared in Cleveland it took 10 long years before anyone heard of them again Michelle Knight first went missing on August 23 2002 when she was 21 years old Michelle was about to appear in court in a custody case for her son and yet she never showed up the authorities believed that Michelle disappeared and gave up on her son's custody which he lost to the state the next disappearance was Amanda Berry who vanished on April 21 2003 one day before her 17th birthday before she disappeared Amanda told her mother that someone offered her a ride home from her job at a fast food restaurant however she never made it home that night when Amanda's mother reported that her daughter was missing the authorities insisted that Amanda was a runaway Days Later Amanda's mother received a phone call that finally convinced the authorities that she didn't run away the caller was a man who said that Amanda was with him and that she would come home in a few days yet Amanda never came back the authorities were finally convinced that Amanda simply didn't run away but the search for her was fruitless what's more lamentable Amanda's mother died in 2006 because of heart failure and she never knew what really happened to her beloved daughter the last of the three disappeared on April 2nd 2004 when 14 year old Gina De Jesus didn't make it back home from school the authorities had no idea that all three cases were connected to each other the loved ones of Barry Knight and DeJesus almost gave up in their search thinking that the three girls were dead as it turned out they disappeared because of a man named Ariel Castro all three girls were held captive by Ariel Castro who kidnapped all three girls and kept them inside his house for almost 10 years the three women only had the chance to escape in May 2013 when Ariel Castro left his house and forgot to lock the main door Amanda used that chance to get out and Shout for help luckily Charles Ramsey their next-door neighbor heard the desperate cries and quickly kicked down the storm door of the house and freed Amanda and her child whose father turned out to be Ariel Castro Michelle Knight and Gina De Jesus were found by the authorities inside two separate rooms in the house the three women were immediately sent to the hospital along with a child Ariel Castro was a immediately arrested and charged with four counts of kidnapping and assault the loved ones of the three women were all happy to hear that they were still alive but they were devastated when they heard what the three of them experienced while they were gone Justice was still served and Castro was sentenced to life plus one thousand years in prison after he pleaded guilty to a total of 937 counts of charges on September 3rd 2013 Castro was found dead in his prison cell it appears that even he couldn't bear the consequences of The Wretched crimes he committed number two woman disappears for five years Michelle Whitaker LED quite a difficult life but many were still alarmed by her disappearance as a teenager Michelle clashed a lot with her mother who thought she was too strict to get away from her home Michelle considered joining the Navy but she fell in love with her recruiter instead whom she married after graduating high school their marriage expectedly didn't last for more than a year Michelle lived a difficult life and by age 30 Michelle was working part-time as a waitress and was barely getting enough to make ends meet no matter how much he tried Michelle's life has always been hard she was arrested for drunk driving and she never had any money at some point she couldn't find an apartment to stay in so she hopped from her parents house to her friend's houses and sometimes she even slept in her car on August 5th 2002 Michelle got into an argument with her mother Laura she left the house and several days passed without Michelle calling her mother after several more days Laura grew worried and started contacting the man last seen with her daughter however no one saw where Michelle went and no one could tell about her whereabouts two weeks after her disappearance Michelle's family filed an official missing persons report the police traced Michelle's bank records but they found no activity everyone connected to Michelle was also investigated but all of them had perfect Alibis a year after her disappearance authorities declared her case open and unsolved Michelle's Mother begged news outlets on TV to keep her daughter's case alive but it was pretty much forgotten by everyone after two years in August 2005 Laura had hoped that she would find her daughter when police received an anonymous letter they claimed that they knew where Michelle was the police arrived at the location but they found the body of a woman instead Laura thought that the body belonged to her daughter but DNA confirmed that it wasn't her five years after her disappearance Michelle's family held a vigil for her however in August 2008 police received a call from a woman who claimed that Michelle Whitaker was didn't know his name age or where he came from he didn't have any form of identification with him and so the authorities didn't have any leads on his identity there were also no posts about him on missing persons records or any websites after several days the man told one nurse that he remembers his name as Benjamin and for his last name he just chose Kyle the mysterious man was referred to as Benjamin Kyle from then on but the questions behind his identity still remained how did he end up in the dumpster and how did he lose his memory unfortunately these questions remained unanswered even as Benjamin Kyle learned his true name more than 10 years after he was found a genealogist was finally able to find out Benjamin's real name his real name was William Burgess Powell born on August 29 1948 he spent most of his life in Lafayette Indiana until his disappearance in 1976.
