They were used to getting their way until the badge came out. These arrests show exactly what happens when privilege meets accountability. Here are five cases when rich Karens think they can't be arrested. Number five, entitled family finds out the hard way that the law applies to everyone. On June 2nd, 2025, officers responded to a call from a man seeking help to retrieve his belongings from a home he no longer had access to. He claimed to have been in a relationship with one of the residents, and after a falling out, her family asked him to leave. After multiple failed attempts to get his things back, he turned to the police for assistance. Watch how the encounter unfolds. >> So, do they know you're coming? Uh, >> I didn't say anything. >> I think he was too afraid to tell him they were coming cuz she was threatening to let his dog out or something. So, we haven't said nothing yet. >> Look, man, I don't want no drama or any of that. >> All right. You got your ID with you? >> He was trying to get his stuff and get his dog. >> I understand. So, you haven't talked to them at all? >> No. her daughter, their daughter messaged me and uh I was at work and it's just all over because man, I'm trying to get to work and you know I got to work and everything. >> We go. He's not asking. He's asking have you talked to her or about coming here? >> Not about coming here? No. >> Okay. So So she doesn't know you're showing up? >> I guess not. >> At all. How long ago did you move out? >> I actually came back last week and today I just left. I went to work and she told me, "Hey, just grab my stuff and leave and I'm done." and stuff. >> Oh, this morning she told you stuff, grab your stuff and leave. >> Yeah. >> Okay. So, you haven't actually moved out yet then? >> No. >> Okay. >> But they're going But it's it's it's this game of cat and mouse basically where they tell him to leave and then he goes to leave and they like force him to stay. This happened like two or three times already. He's just trying to actually get it to happen and they feel like president police officer would actually >> How much stuff do you have? >> Oh, my dog and probably some clothes. >> Dog and some clothes. >> All right. Let me go make contact first so they know what's going on and then uh I mean up until now you live there. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. Okay. Let me go make contact first uh so that we don't have any sort of ruckus go on and then I'll motion you to come down. So >> hoping to avoid conflict, the officer begins by speaking with the family, trying to settle things with a conversation before anything else. How's it going? >> Huh? >> Spins. >> Yep. >> So, uh, get his stuff. >> Oh, really? Okay. Yeah. Give me a second. If you want to come to the the garage. >> Okay. So, I'm on motion for him to come down here so he can get his stuff. I'm going to stand by and then uh uh I guess Lil got an OP against him, so I'm going to serve out. So, >> okay, cool. Cool. >> All right. Hey, I'm over at the garage if you want. >> Yeah, that's fine. >> All righty. >> Not coming this house. >> Why are the cop Why >> didn't do this to his property? >> Give me mine. You come to this house till you Thanks. Bye-bye. >> Bye-bye. >> All right. Well, he lives here. So, >> no, he does not. He does not live here. On the address they put in that car, you don't live here. No one's coming here. >> Okay. >> This could have been done civily. No, >> that's why I'm here to do this. >> You're not coming in the house. >> Okay. >> We don't need YOU HERE. GO. >> SO, he goes here for a civil standby so he can get his stuff. >> He's not getting He's not getting No, do not. No. What do I >> Tensions rise quickly as the daughter grows more agitated and it's only a matter of time before things get out of hand. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. And you can get Sorry, we don't >> Oh, yeah. Straight up with >> You put your hands up. Turn around. You're under arrest. Don't arrest her. You did this [ __ ] DON'T TOUCH ME. DON'T TOUCH ME. DON'T TOUCH ME. GET ON THE GROUND. YOU'RE GETTING TASED. GET ON THE GROUND. YOU'RE GETTING TASED RIGHT NOW. NOW. >> 71. >> Under arrest for aggravating police officer. GET ON THE GROUND OR YOU'RE GETTING TASED. >> I don't care. Get on the ground. You're getting paid under arrest. You're under arrest. >> You put your hands on me. >> She's pregnant. >> You put your hands ON ME GETTING THE OFF MY PROPERTY NOW. >> GET OUT OF MY FACE. GET OUT OF MY >> You're under arrest. YOU'RE UNDER ARREST. >> You're under arrest. out of here. You guys are too. >> Rather than support the officers, the man seems more concerned with defending his girlfriend. His friend, on the other hand, understands the severity of what's unfolding and why the law isn't on her side. >> 71 units can downgrade. >> Don't mess with her, man. >> Oh, she she's she's she's got a she's got a felony coming now. >> She hit me. >> My baby, man. >> She hit me. She's got a felony coming. >> She did grabbing her. >> She did. >> Whatever. When I went to intervene for her hitting you, >> she hitting me. >> No, man. No, we're not. >> No, dude. >> He ain't going to sit there and grab her up. She's got my baby, dude. Okay. >> I ain't going to do this. Was trying to protect you. Stop >> trying to tase her. >> Take a second. >> When she puts hands on, then >> stop. >> Yeah. >> I need you to take a breath. We are out here right now. Okay. He was just trying to do his job. You need to stop. >> Hell no, bro. You're not And you've got an O. She's got an OP against you. You're going to get served with that. >> Why haven't I been served? That's what I'd like to know. It's been a week, man. And y'all haven't served me. >> It's not his. You are being unnecessarily the day after. I've been told the rules and all that. >> Okay. >> Okay. So, maybe >> who knows, dude. You just need to calm down. So, when I talked to you the other day, I don't know if it was either issued or they didn't tell me it wasn't. >> Okay. >> What? >> Not what the happened. >> Okay. But it's not your fault. >> Listen, stop talking. >> She >> He did not do She came after the cop, dude. >> No. Are you serious? >> Yeah. >> And probably they're all three going to go to jail. Her and her parents, >> dude. She started that and they're all getting charged. They also have like 25. Okay. >> Backup units arrive moments later and with the potential of firearms being inside the home. The officers carefully weigh their next steps. >> Hello. So, they denied entry and we're getting ready to leave and she he's he's like, I'll do this later. He walked away. She went and hit him. I went to intervene. She hit me and then mom got in between. So her, mom and and dad went in the house. So mom and dad got an obstructing charge coming and she's got an egg back to the PO. >> So and then they closed the garage door. >> All of them, right? >> Yeah. >> Right. >> Well, hang on. >> So they're not going to answer the door, but we're going to knock on it. And if they refuse, then that's fine. But we got to try. So >> So we have a domestic egg bat. >> We got a domestic cuz she hit him, right? >> Yeah. Well, it was >> Did she hit him? >> She hit him, but I went It was more of a >> And I went to intervene. So >> nothing else escalated and then she hit me and knocked my mic off my off my vest. So >> is 61 still out at the uh >> I think he was on his way. >> Well, we'll wait for him if he's on his way. Okay. So, she hit when he was leaving. Their daughter did. I can't remember her name. Then she punched Hancock and then mom and dad took her and ran inside, locked everything up, and shut it up. So, he wants both of the parents for obstructing and her for domestic batter and egg bats for PO, but they're not. He doesn't think they're going to answer, which I would agree. They're probably not going to answer. I'm going to go see if they witnessed anything. Spencer's checking for cameras here real quick, and they called 911. So we're gonna get statements from them before we try to make contact with them. >> Yeah. So yeah, their whole family is getting arrested except for the kid. >> Officers hold positions around the home, hoping someone inside will come out peacefully. And a few moments later, the mother and her son finally step outside to talk. >> My daughter >> 131 on that. Okay, let's come over here. Let's stand over here. So, help me understand what's going on. I I wasn't a I was not here obviously. Okay. So, all I did is my officer calling for units in in what it sounds like an emergency situation. Okay. So, help me understand what happened in your driveway. >> Okay. Came to get stuff. >> Okay. >> They were coming up to the garage. My daughter said he's not coming in the house. The officer is like, "Well, he lives here." She goes, "Not according to his address on his license. It is a Belleville or whatever address. He is not coming in unless you have a warrant. Thank you. Bye-bye." Start >> talking some stuff. No one is going to off again, you guys are here without somebody from my daughter's mental health. Why? You guys are responding to my house. Okay. Anyway, >> let's focus on talking about what's going on. >> And then so she went to go after I was telling her, "Stop. Stop. Stop. I knew what she was going to do. You know, she hit him. Then the officer was coming up to her, >> intervening like he said. >> Yes. And all that was doing was setting her off. And then he pulled out the taser and was going to tase her. I'm like, she's pregnant. And so I'm in front of her to make sure she didn't get tased. I'm sorry. Yes, I did intervene. I'm not going to let my daughter get tased with my grandbaby inside of her. >> Okay. So, let me make sure I'm I'm following. Okay. When did the garage door get closed? when they were standing up there and as I was holding her so she would not get tased. >> Who closed the garage door? >> I you know through it all. I don't know cuz we kept trying to let the officer know she's pregnant. She's pregnant. She's pregnant. Please. >> But we we can agree that the right move isn't blocking or shutting the garage door. It's understanding that she has just committed a crime. >> Officers make it clear that the man has a legal right to collect his belongings, meaning the family's refusal holds no ground. But instead of addressing that, the mother is more focused on defending her daughter's outburst. >> Her mental status is not good. >> We're not talking about >> what I'm talking about. But right over here, that's why she did it because her mental status and I know that's not an excuse. >> I know that's not an excuse, but we already tried to tell him just leave and they wouldn't leave. >> It doesn't work that way. He's he has by court order the right to respond. He was he was here long enough to be and we're gonna talk about that too. I'm sorry explain this. It doesn't matter what address is on his license. If he's lived here more than two weeks, he's an established resident. >> Okay. He's gathering his stuff. There's an active OP. He's no longer allowed back here. The situation is done. What had to be accomplished today was him gathering his things and that was done. He's not allowed back here. He would be arrested if he came back here. >> What about getting her stuff? And that's what she was trying to ask the officer. >> Hold on. But here's the deal. We can't get to that if we're screaming not allowing somebody to come in when a court order says that he's allowed to come get his property. >> So if she But listen, but listen if and and we can work on that. But if if >> is engaging and pushing and not shutting up, which is what she's good at doing. We can agree. >> Yes. >> Then she needs to be by you guys removed from the situation and taken inside >> and then we can have a civil conversation. >> You know what I'm saying? So she needs to stay away from me. >> And then they all just like you need to be out here. >> Honest to God, he didn't have anything. I'm the one who closed him. >> No, he's coming over to >> stuff. It still is closed now. >> He came over here for the sole purpose to set her off even more. >> He called us ahead and said, "This is what we're doing. This is how it this is what I need to do." He had a friend come pick him up. I mean, he did exactly what he was supposed to do. There was an officer here with him before contact was made. That's spot on to what's supposed to happen. >> Realizing the situation isn't getting through, the officer lays it out to her bluntly. He urges the mother to stop enabling her daughter's behavior before it gets worse. >> This is going to go off script for just a minute, but I'm going to give you just a wee bit of advice, just a little bit. I don't think boyfriends need to move in anymore because I've been here for several boyfriends and it's never been a good combination at all. I know. >> I think that's step one in repairing whatever she's got going on. Boyfriends probably don't need to listen. And I know she's got a lot of mental health stuff going on. She's had a lot of trauma in her life. I'm not trying to downgrade any of that. I I am very familiar with with what she's experienced, but we can't use that as a crutch every time. >> Oh, I know. You know, I mean, she and that's probably why he brought the the cop over here >> because she he has to bring the court order. >> By court order. Explain this. >> If you want to hook her right now. >> I don't think we should. If she's It isn't her daughter's turn. >> No, her. Well, so here's the deal. She probably needs to go to the hospital. >> That's right. >> So, that's what we're going to have to talk to him. >> Secure >> if you want to see if we can go inside >> or I mean, >> let them deal with their mess. >> They created that mess. >> I'm not disagreeing. >> They ran her inside. Let them deal with that. >> I don't know. >> You do two things. You can write her a ticket for obstructioning or we can take her in. I don't care. I wasn't here. It's I mean, it's up to you. The mother was willing to have a calm conversation until the officers brought up who was at fault. Now that they're explaining the potential charges, she's quick to push back and justify their actions. >> Anyone else going to go in there and engage in that? We're not. We don't do that. >> Well, I'm just telling you, she's going to fight every tooth and nail and you guys are going to have to you guys are going to use excessive force and then she's going to end up >> excessive. Not even >> he was going to tase her because she was fighting him and he was alone. What do you think he should do? >> He sat there and she assaulted going to keep justifying. He was Yeah. No, IT'S NOT FINE. >> NO, BUT I'm saying >> what is wrong with you? >> I'm not saying it's fine. But she hitting him once >> and then you want to go >> and then she had me >> cuz you were like right here in her >> intervening in her domestic battery that she was committing. >> Yes. She was under arrest at that point and now she's looking at a felony. >> She was saying bye-bye. You could have just stepped off, not keep walking up to her. >> She's the one that ran out to the street. >> She said bye-bye to you first and you kept stepping up into the garage. >> No, he turned and left and then she chased after >> you can run your mouth. That's That's perfectly legal. >> All right, hold on. >> You're not free to go. HOW? I'M NOT UNDER ARREST. I DIDN'T DO ANYTHING. >> YOU ACTUALLY ARE. YOU'RE UNDER arrest for obstructing >> for obstructing >> when you prevented me from arresting her. >> All right. So, she's going to have charges pending >> and let's go out of here >> because I'm not going to let my daughter >> too if he comes out >> because I'm not going to let my daughter get tased. So, I'm under arrest and I'm not >> I am ARRESTED BECAUSE I STOPPED HER FROM GETTING TASED BEING PREGNANT. YOU GOT TO STAY INSIDE. WHY DON'T YOU GET UP ON PROPERTY? >> DAVID, DON'T. >> The resistance continues and despite being in cuffs, it's clear she still doesn't understand the situation she's in. >> WE GOT ARREST COMING TOO. WE GOT YOU GOT AN OBSTRUCTION. >> STOP. >> DON'T >> STOP. You're hurting me. >> Then stop trying to pull away. Stop trying to pull away or you're going to catch a resistant. >> STAND UP. >> HURT. >> Then stand up. >> I have a [ __ ] HEART PROBLEM. YOU STUPID SON OF A >> Stand up. >> All right. Do you not understand that? >> Stand up. >> It hurts. >> Stand up. >> I have a device in my chest. >> All right. >> Trying to help. It hurts. It is too tight. CUTTING OFF MY CIRCULATION. IT HURTS. I'm not around in there. >> It hurts. It hurts. PLEASE, I'M NOT GOING TO FIGHT. It hurts. >> I can see it's loose right FROM HERE. >> IT HURTS. It is digging in. >> They're not meant for comfort. >> I'm asking to please just loosen it. I'm not going to fight. >> Lose. It hurts right there. >> All right. Sit back. Once I get her in and take off, we'll take off. I just want to wait till >> I just want to make sure he's about done. >> He doesn't He's not Well, he's not supposed to have any. He says he's not gotten he had his fully car revoked. I've talked about a couple of times. This is part of the ups and downs that we've dealt with on every single occasion. >> Does that door say a sane asylum? >> It sure does. >> I was trying to be nice and come out and talk with you guys. >> Can somebody call my family and tell them to take the food off the stove that I was cooking so my house doesn't burn down? Just moments after his wife was transported, the husband shows up at the station to surrender himself for obstructing the earlier operation. >> Hey man. Hey. Sorry for my ex running my mouth. >> All right. So, listen. I'm going to be straight with you. All right. >> Okay. >> Based on the circumstances that took place out there, okay, you're also going to be charged with obstructing. Okay? >> So, we're going to take you into custody, take you in the back, get you printed, get you knocked out. You'll talk to Officer Hancock, get your statement done, and then you guys are going to be released. >> Okay, I understand. >> So, if you want to throw your phone in your pocket for now, put your hands back here. >> David, I will say that I appreciate you waiting until you calm down to come up here. >> Oh, yeah. >> Cuz I know what your temper looks like and I can tell that you absolutely waited >> to come up here until you were chill and I appreciate that. >> No problem. I got money in this pocket. >> You're all right. I don't really care. He's up here. We just >> Yeah, you're good. We just got to >> We're going to process you. You're both going to get tickets and out the door. >> The daughter wasn't off the hook. A warrant was later issued for her arrest for domestic battery and aggravated assault on a peace officer. Number four, couple's argument gets so out of hand that police have to step in. Moving on to our next case. Police officers were responding to a call from a hotel. According to them, a couple was fighting on hotel grounds and things were escalating to a concerning level. So, they decided it was time to get the police involved. >> So, she was out here by herself originally. Then he came out here looking for her. I told her she was outside. I'm not sure where she went. So, they were both sitting out here and I was going out here to get my food. I heard a slapping sound. So, I turned around and he has her arm bent down and he's hitting her in the head. >> Oh. >> So, I run up to him. I said, "Hey, get off of her." He ran out towards the elevator. Let's go back to his room. I'm trying to comfort her and said, "What do you want to do? I can get you in the room for now, but let's try to get you somewhere out of the >> Is she still here?" >> She's still here. Yeah. >> You know where she's at? >> She's on 411. >> Okay. All right. >> And he went back to his room. Then shortly after we went back up there to leave. >> Are they married? Do you have any idea or no? >> Uh like they're they're together, right? >> Yeah, >> they're together. >> They're both on reservation. >> Okay. All right. All right, I'm going to go talk to her in a little bit. >> After getting a brief rundown from the hotel staff, the officers now turn their attention to one of the people involved in the issue >> and ends up going there. I'm like out here walking around trying to find her. Never find her. I sit in I'm sitting in my room. She's like, I'm not coming back. Blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah. I'm not coming back. So end up she's sitting over here and we're talking. >> Do me a favor. Put that bottle down for me too as well. Thank you. >> Christ, man. All right. So, she's sitting there and she's like just mouthing off at me. I say something back to her. She slaps me and I grab her hair. >> That's it. >> That's exactly what happened. >> Okay. Nothing else than >> back and forth fighting. >> No. >> Nothing. Just that. Grabbed her hair and I and then he said, "Sir, sir, sir." And I was like, "I got it. I got it." I stepped away upstairs. I grabbed her bags and pulled them out. The man explains the conflict through his point of view, but it still leaves a lot of questions unanswered. With that, the officers probe some more to paint a clearer picture. >> No. Um, what's your first name? >> Scott. >> Scott. Where are you from? >> Virginia. >> Virginia. And you guys live together? You and this other female? >> Well, we used to. We don't. Right now, we don't live together. >> Okay. Are you guys like you guys dated or you just roommates? >> We're still like engaged. You're engaged. Okay. >> And you you used to live together. What was that before you you came here on vacation or what? >> No. No. This is like we haven't moved together for two years. We decided cuz she had issues with her kids. They needed like their space. So, we ended up like deciding we just we lived close together, but not the same. >> Okay. >> All right. Um, >> see, I caught the >> I caught the tail end of it. I have no idea where where she's at, and I'm trying to that's why we're trying to figure out what's what's going on. Right now, we have an eviction, but we've got to figure out what happened to cause you guys get evicted, >> right? And it seems like there was an altercation, but but we're just here to try to, you know, facilitate the eviction and see what we got. >> She She slapped me when I grabbed her hair. >> Where did she slap you at? >> Right over here on the tail. >> No, on your butt. >> Over here >> with an open hand. She like like open hand slapped you. >> Yeah, she's like popped you in the face. >> Okay. Um, take a seat. You're going to sit tight with this officer here. All right. >> You don't have to sit in the rain. You can sit up here. >> Yeah. Right there on one of these steps. >> These are particularly comfortable. >> There you go. >> The officers now approach the supposed partner of the man who according to him physically assaulted him. Here's what she has to say about the whole incident. >> Hello Nola. >> Yes. Would you mind stepping out here and talking to me? Make sure you flip the latch so it doesn't lock you out. >> I guess >> you got it here. I'll help you. >> I can't. >> Just stand right out here. Is it just you in here? >> Yeah. >> Here we go. All right. Um, let me tell you what we got and then I want to I'll ask you some questions. Okay. So, we got a call here about an eviction, right? And then as we get here, we speak to the people that are downstairs and they're telling us that um the guy that you're here with was hitting you outside on the um on Simon Street. Can you tell me what happened today? >> Um so, you guys are evicting him? >> No, no. I'm just telling you why we got here, but right now I'm doing a battery investigation. >> Okay. Yeah. So, obviously, yes, we were we um we got in a tiff and then I ended up walking back by myself and we were downstairs and we were getting into it and I actually smacked him first and then he grabbed me and >> Where did he grab you at? >> Um >> on your face? >> Yeah. >> Okay. When he grabbed you on your face, did did he hit you or anything like that or did he just grab you on the face? >> No, he didn't hit me. >> Okay. Do you um do you guys live together? No. >> No, you don't. Okay. You're engaged to him, correct? >> All right. And you guys are from Virginia? >> Yeah. >> All right. Do you have your license with you? It's inside. >> I have my um I do. And I have my passport. What's wrong? >> Just the license is fine. I'm going to flip some lights on. >> Can you hold this door open for me? >> No problem. >> Sorry. I just got stuck in here. Where's the light switch at? >> Even though some of the details in their story do not match, the woman admits she hit her partner first, but she reveals the reason why things escalated as such. Something the man left out on his account of the incident. >> It's okay. You said your ID is in here. Actually, my my passport's in here. >> Yeah, just if you have a Virginia ID, that makes it a lot easier. >> Virginia. >> So, you said that he like approached you and y'all were arguing and you slapped him. Yeah, he was telling me I needed he made some ridiculous comment like I need a whipping once in a while or something like that and I I smashed them. >> Okay, let's step back. >> Do you have shoes? These flip-flops right here. Perfect. >> I got them for you. >> What? No, I just don't want you to be standing out here without any shoes on. I don't know right now. I'm still got to figure out what what we've got. I think we both just We're actually down here celebrating our 10 year anniversary as sad as that sounds. >> So, you guys have been dating for 10 years. >> We've been together 10 years. >> Okay. And y'all used to How long did y'all live together? >> Uh, we lived together for about 6 years and then I moved out about a year a little over a year ago. >> Okay. And what's the best phone number to reach you at? With the woman's cooperation, the officer decides that it's time to get back to his colleagues to deliberate on their next move. >> So, after you slapped him, you just like slapped him with an open hand and he grabbed you on the face and then what happened? >> I don't I think he grabbed him. I don't know. I don't know. He just he reacted. >> He just grabbed a hold of you and then he just let go or what? >> I don't know. He came around the corner. It It just happened so fast. He came around the corner and as soon as he saw him and you got you were like, "Hey, >> that's when he was patrol inside." >> Okay. >> So, >> all right. Um, would you mind stepping into the lobby with us just so we can That way my partner's down there with that and I'm up here. That way we're all together and we can communicate because like I said, we're doing an investigation. We have to be together. Would you mind walking down the line? I'm just going to lock this so it doesn't You have a way to get back in here, right? >> I gave her a key. >> You gave her a key? >> Sorry. I already have my contacts in. >> Okay. You want to grab your cell phone and your >> your contacts. That was weird. While on their way to rejoin the others, the officer explains to the woman what might come next, including an outcome that nobody would want. >> I don't understand. Is the is the is the hotel >> I have no idea. I mean, >> what? No, I was literally falling asleep. No, that's fine. So, what happens in in the state of Florida is I I when a battery occurs, right, and that and it's domestic in nature, which it seems like that's what this is. Um, an arrest has to be made. But right now, we have to determine if we have enough probable cause to make an arrest. Number one. And number two, we have >> an arrest. Don't arrest him. Like, >> okay, that's that's but we got to go down there so I can talk to him. And and it's just part of the it's procedure. >> Oh my gosh. I think he was probably in bed and I was in bed. I mean, that's that's that's the extent of where we're at. I don't I don't think it I mean, it wasn't a good situation. I don't think we both realize that and we're both trying to figure out where we go from here. But >> I know that's why we're going to go downstairs and talk about it. Make sure you grab your phone. >> Yeah. Oh, this is inside. >> Yeah, >> that's cool. >> By the way, I do have my mask. Sorry. >> Oh, we got some downstairs. You're not paying for >> He said he can get you. >> The lobby's right here to the left, right? >> Yeah. >> Yeah. Let's just go in here and sit at the lobby really quick in one of these chairs. It's a pool. and just take a seat right here for me. >> The officers get together again to finally piece everything together while the woman adds more details for the anniversary trip that turns sour. >> So, she tells me that they got in an argument and she slapped him in the face and then he grabbed her. She doesn't know where. And then he y he y he y he y he y he y he y he y he y he y he y healed and told him to stop. >> Yeah. >> Primary grosser mutual I guess. >> Yeah. You want me you want to run by Dave? >> Do you think it's mutual or you think it's just primary grosser? >> I don't know. Go ask him. See what he thinks. >> We actually just got her in. We were in Miami for the last 3 days and we had an amazing time. We came down here and it's just it's craziness down >> down here which we weren't expecting. Well, I he was a big proponent of coming down here and and I'd never been down here before. It's beautiful, but I was >> This is the week of the craziness, though. That's cuz it's fantasy fest this week. >> Is that what it is? I I have no idea. And he's like, I didn't expect it to be like this because where we're where we're at, you know, he's very conscious about >> the whole night. I'm like, we're in the middle of what is going on down here. >> What? After the whole investigation, the officers decide that it's time to take the couple away. >> Go ahead and stand up. Stand up for me. Put your hands behind your back. >> I'm being arrested. >> Yep. Turn that way and put your hands behind your back for me. >> We're both being arrested. >> Yep. For mutual battery. >> Are you kidding me? >> I'm going to keep them loose so that they don't hurt your wrist. Okay. >> Okay. So, in the state of Florida, listen, this is I'm going to we're going to walk out here and um get in the car really quick. I'm going to get your phone for you. Um so, this is what happens. >> My phone is about dead. I don't have anyone to call. I mean, >> well, we'll be able to like we can charge it for you whenever we get whenever I get in the car. I have an iPhone is an iPhone. Yeah. And then whenever we get >> going to get charged. >> Yeah. Come on. >> This is horrible. Do you realize that >> A5? We have two in custody. So in the state of Florida, the way it works is be careful of these steps right here. Right? Whenever the mutual battery occurs or when a domestic battery occurs, the state of Florida has put the onus on itself to press the charges because in most senses, you're not going to press charges, right? And it's just the way >> we don't even have any marks. I mean, there's nothing. I mean, >> we're going to go over here to this front car. >> Oh my gosh. Are you kidding me? >> I'm going to go on to the other side as well. You don't even have pockets, do you? No. >> Watch out for this puddle and step up right up here. >> The woman finally realizes the heavy consequences that she and her partner are about to face. >> I mean, literally, this is going to ruin us our jobs. Do you do you realize? >> So, this is a misdemeanor charge, right? >> Okay. >> So, in the state of Florida, there's two types of charges, right? This is the lesser of of the two. Like, you know what a felony is? >> Uh, well, yes. >> Okay. So, this is not a felony. This is below that. Can you We're just going to say >> I know, but no, I mean, I'm getting a misdemeanor for battery. >> You're literally slapping him. >> Oh, wow. This is like >> scoot back for me. >> I'm going to book you in all my stuff. >> Well, you can. I think I don't think you've been evicted. I'm going to talk to him about that. I just I don't want him to be evicted either. >> Well, I mean this is this is the this is a um private establishment, right? It's private property and unfortunately we can't tell them what to do with that. I have your cell phone. Okay. So, it's going to come with you. I'm going to charge it like I told you to. >> Keep keep like staying calm like this and and it's you're going to be in and out as quick as you can. >> The night ended with a couple being arrested for mutual domestic battery. Number three, when arrogance turns a minor violation into serious trouble. On January 21st, 2023, officers observed a vehicle drifting out of its lane and making an illegal turn, giving them enough cause to initiate a traffic stop. Here's how it played out. Hey, how's it going? What's going on? Hey. >> All right. Hey, I'm Deputy Johnson for South County Sheriff's Office. The reason I'm pointing you over is when you pulled out a good old days, you can't make that left turn. There's a sign, the DOT sign. It says no left turn. >> Okay. >> Because you're going in the opposite travel lanes. Okay. And then when falling behind, you not maintain your lane. Okay. So, do you have your driver insurance with you? >> Um, let me see. Hang on. It's my car. >> Okay. >> Is it Vegas? >> There we go. >> Where are we headed to, guys? >> Uh, home. >> Back home? >> Yeah. >> Okay. Wonderful. All right. How much alcohol you had, sir? >> Uh, none. >> None at all? >> No. >> Okay. Any reason why I smell it? >> Um, the disease, the drinking. >> Okay. Do you mind putting the car in park and tell me a second? 75 200 10. >> You want to step out? >> Yes, sir. Please. >> I'm not going to do that. >> Okay. You're you're going to have to >> 7520 code 11. >> Yeah, I'm not going to do that. >> Okay. >> If you don't step out of the vehicle, it's going to be called obstruction. Okay. You have to step out of the vehicle. Okay. There's case law supports that. Okay. >> I know. >> Yeah. I'm not going to do that. >> Why not? >> It's not obstruction. I'm not. Am I being detained? >> You are. Yes, sir. 100%. >> Okay. Will you do what you got to do? Okay. Step out of the vehicle for me. I appreciate that. The officer moves forward with a sobriety check, but the man refuses to follow directions, choosing instead to challenge the officer with every word. >> Can you walk back the red light, please? >> Yeah. >> Can you stay right there for me? >> I'm going to stand right there. >> Okay. I'm not understanding why you're being so uh non-compliant. >> It's not a issue of non-compliance, son. You do what you got to do. I'm done talking. Okay. So, again, the reason I'm stopping you is because you made an illegal left turn. Okay. And you're not maintaining your lane. Okay. Now, speaking to you, I can smell you an alcoholic beverage coming from your facial area. Okay. You do have bloodshot, watery eyes. Okay. I want to make sure you're a safe driver tonight. >> Are you willing to let me check your eyes? I'm not willing to do anything at all. I don't agree with anything you're saying right now. So >> why is that? >> I'm not understanding what why we're having a a miscommunication. You know, >> I don't agree with why I'm even being stopped. So >> I'm done. I'm done. I'm done, man. I'm done talking. >> So you're not willing to do any kind of field to evaluation? >> Not at all. Okay. >> Zero. Is there any reason why you don't want to do any field sobriety evaluations? >> I I don't I don't agree with what's going on right now, sir. >> No. >> Have you been consuming alcohol at all? >> Okay. I'm going have to disagree with you cuz I can smell it. >> Okay. >> Okay. Um can you get your hands out your pockets for me? Thank I appreciate that. >> Okay. Um no field satiety. I can't check your eyes. You can't, you know, walk a straight line for me. >> You do whatever you got to do, man. >> Okay. What about a breath test? You said you have no >> I'm not doing anything, man. not alcohol. >> This is I think it's unjust and I don't agree with it and >> I'm not doing it. So, >> all right. Well, unfortunately, I have to make a decision tonight. Okay. With you making that, you know, that turn and then you not maintain your lane. Okay. I'm going to have to place you on arrest without the manifestation presented to me. Okay. Yes. >> Do me a favor and turn around and face the car and put your hands behind your back for me. Okay. >> The man is cuffed without much struggle, but the situation isn't over yet. Someone else is about to make things worse. >> He was your piece of gown car at one point. >> Say what? He was repeating the gall. >> Yeah, you got eggs and then we paid eggs. >> Never mind. >> But you that is >> Well, we appreciate you did. I'm not going to charge you obstruction. Okay. >> Right now, you'll be under arrest for uh driving on the influence of alcohol. Okay. And not maintain your lane. >> I was just saying that for future reference. You don't have to do field obviously, but you do have to exit. >> Yeah. Come on back here for me, sir. >> Can you swap on the red light, please? Yes, sir. >> I appreciate that. >> I'm sorry. >> You're good. I understand the circumstances, and you're fully right to refuse all fields of pride like it was telling you. >> No, I know. I know the deal. >> We just got to do our job out here. Okay. >> Yeah, dude. I totally understand. >> And she's refusing to get out so we can do our search. So, I told her she she's going to be arrested for obstruction. She doesn't exit. I mean, it's I asked her nicely. So, ma'am, he's told you and now I'm telling you, >> all right, >> I'm going to ask you one more time. >> Are you going to ma'am? >> Your friends can't help you right now. Okay, you need to exit the vehicle. >> I need you to come now. >> If they come up here and cause trouble, that's going to be an issue. I'm >> not going to cause trouble. >> Okay. >> You asked me to call for a ride. >> I did. And that's what I'm doing. >> And I need you to step out of the car. >> And I didn't give you permission to search my vehicle. >> I'm I'm going to search your car. I don't need >> But I didn't give you permission to search my vehicle. Don't touch me. Do not touch me. Put your hands behind me. >> Don't touch me. Don't touch me. >> You're going to get hurt. Do >> not touch me. >> I haven't done anything. >> No, I'm not. I said you don't have permission to search my vehicle. >> I said you you do need my permission. >> You do need my permission. >> Ma'am, stop. >> You didn't need my phone. The situation has gone far beyond a traffic ticket. Now both are detained and the woman shows no sign of letting up. >> I'm under arrest. Okay. >> For what? >> Obstruction. >> Obstruction of what? >> Obstruction of an officer. That's I gave you >> probably seven commands to get out. >> No, you gave me literally nothing. >> Okay, I'm not going to argue with you again. Um, I gave you several commands to get out. You refused and you pulled away from us when we tried to >> I didn't pull away from you for anything. >> Let go. ID, dude. >> Okay, let go. Come on. >> No, >> it's still your car. >> Got her. >> I'm not going to go anywhere. It's all manhandling me. >> Oh, yeah. >> Resisting around. >> I'm not resisting. I resisted getting out of my car. When you don't have >> Take a seat, please. when you don't have the right to search it. >> We're going to go do that right now. All right, go search it. Good luck. >> Thank you, too. >> Have fun. >> Thank you. >> I would just like my pocket. >> Look, we're going to get it for you. You don't >> No, I I would No, I do. Listen, I would like to be able to call who I need to call. Get everything. >> You put your foot back in. >> No, I would like my pocket. >> I don't put my hands on you. >> Tina, listen to me. Okay. You're into, okay, we understand. >> Yes, I am. I I I'm not denying that. But I You gave me the opportunity. >> Tina, listen. Stop talking. Stop talking. I will not. >> Okay, then I'm going put your my hands on you. Watch your foot. I'm going to put my hands on you. Okay. I don't want to. Okay. Put your feet in the car. You will have your day in court. Okay. We're going to bring your phone. Everybody else is going to stay in the car. Okay. I got your license and your phone. You'll be able to make a phone call when we get there. Okay. Put your go get it for you. >> Please stop. I understand I've been drinking. >> What can we do for you? What can we >> understand that I have been drinking? >> Okay. And I understand mine right now. Okay. >> No, don't feed me that. >> I would like my phone right now. >> No, not right now. >> I would like my phone right now so I have the phone numbers that I need. >> Bring your phone. >> I would like my phone right now. >> After repeated warnings, it's clear that securing the woman will take more than words. Her intoxicated behavior leaves the officers with no choice but to act. >> You didn't have a >> No. Can you please just give me my phone so I can make a phone call to who? I need to call. >> We're going to get your phone. You got to put We can't leave the door open. >> No, I need the phone so I can make the phone call. >> Yeah, we'll be underneath this. >> I need a phone call so I can make a call. >> Get your foot in the car. I don't want We don't want to hurt you. Do we have to put you in? >> I understand that you don't. Do we have to tie your phone? >> You don't want to hurt your sneaky phone, but we got to shut the door to get up there and get it. You're not having your phone right now. >> Why? >> We're going to bring your phone to the jail. You want us to get it? We got to shut the door. >> I'm not leaving you here with the door >> right now so I can continue to make my phone call, but you asked me to make me call. >> We got a tow truck coming to get your car. >> You asked me to if I had anybody. >> That was before you started acting like the way you did. >> No, I didn't. I said you didn't have the right to talk. >> You're not in charge anymore, Tina. Okay. You had the opportunity to get somebody to come get you. >> I tried to and he took me out of my car. >> Because you refused to get out of the car. >> Yes. Because I tried to get somebody to come get me. >> You have >> I tried to get somebody to come get me. >> We were having a conversation. You actually ignored me and got on your phone >> and tried to get somebody to come get me like you asked me to. >> But adults have a conversation when we're talking. >> Yes. And you asked me to get somebody to come get me, which I tried to do. >> Yeah. I'm getting ice >> arrested. >> Thank you. >> In the end, both faced obstruction charges. However, the man was also hit with a DUI while the woman received an additional charge for resisting an officer. Number two, former CEO's daughter faces arrest for her third DWI offense. This next case takes us to Little Silver, New Jersey, where officers spotted a 2022 MercedesBenz swerving on the road. After initiating a traffic stop, they discovered the driver was a mother with her 15year-old son in the passenger seat. Watch what happens during the stop. >> You're picking him up from Redbank? >> Yeah, my Gotcha. >> Here's my insurance. >> Thank you. >> Where were you before, miss? >> I'm sorry. Hi. I'm just asking. >> I just That's it. I just ran out to dinner and I'm picking him up. That's it. >> Okay. Find it. But anyway, I mean, I'm not I'm not sure like what else you are wondering. >> I need the uh registration. >> Do you have anything to drink at dinner? >> No, I do not. No. All right. Just got to get an updated registration card in here. Okay. This one is expired. >> Yes, I see that. I know. I'm in the process of doing that right now. >> So, the reason why I'm stopping you. Okay. You went straight through the left turn only lane back there in Ocean Port. >> I'm sorry about that. >> All right. I'm just making sure you know. >> Okay. Sorry about that. >> Good. How's your license? No point suspension. Nothing like that. >> Nothing. But no, I mean I have um Kenny Walker is my PBA card. I'm trying to find that right now. >> Where does he work? No, he was he's I I bought his house from him and I don't know where it is right now to be honest with you, but >> Okay. Who's Kenny Walker? >> He was a he was a like No, she's a police in Ocean. >> In Ocean Port, >> I believe. So, >> all right. Just give me one second. Okay. >> A background check reveals the woman has a history of DWI offenses. What comes next is a closer look at whether she should have been behind the wheel in the first place. Okay, miss. Um, if you don't mind, would you mind hopping out so I can talk to you at the back of the pump? >> Yeah. One second, though. My father's coming here. I feel like the PDA card. >> Okay. There's no there's no one second. Okay. We're going to >> Okay. >> Excuse me. Can I please Uber my girlfriend's house? >> Just hang tight for me. Okay. Just go to the back. >> Hi. How are you? Have a seat. >> Right here to the back bumper. I will see you in the moment. >> That's the problem. >> What's going on tonight? Where you coming from? >> Good. No, I I was at the Arino. My son's a red bank. I just went to go pick him up and that is it. And I don't have my PBA card. I don't worry about your PBA card. Sorry. >> What? I'm sorry. I'm not worried about nervous and he's freaking out. >> How old is he? >> He's 50. >> Okay. All right. >> And I'm sorry. I I can't >> How much do you have to drink there? >> Nothing. I'm telling you, I I didn't eat. And I'm if you really want to know the truth, I got >> I'm just gonna check your eyes. All right. Make sure you're okay to drive. All right. >> Listen to me. >> Just my dad will come in here. I just >> I don't need your dad here. >> I know, but I I I need help cuz I just feel like I do. >> All right. Anyway, whatever you need to do. >> Why can you explain that part to me? Why? because I had a PBA card. I don't have it right now and I'm not sure. Like I don't know. Maybe that could help the situation right now. >> No, it's that's not going to help. >> All right. Fine. Okay. >> Do you wear glasses or contacts? >> No, but I my vision is a little impaired. >> Well, that's that's Why is it impaired? >> Cuz I'm old. >> Okay. How old are you? >> I'm 50. >> Okay. All right. >> With that, the officer begins a horizontal gaze nestagmas test, watching carefully for signs of impairment. >> Just keep seeing. All right. See my pen here? >> Yes. All right. Ma'am, >> I I don't I'm not >> You're fine. Right where you are. Perfect. Okay. >> My pen. What color is it? >> What? >> Okay. For your eyes and your eyes only, I want you to follow my pen. >> Okay. >> Do not move your head. Do you understand? >> Yes. Come here. I'm not. Follow the pen. Don't try to cheat the test. >> I'm not. It does hurt my eyes. So, I'll be honest with you. 47 Last one. We're going to go up. Okay. Same thing. Don't move your head. >> The officer presses gently, asking again about her alcohol intake. Still hoping she'll admit to how much she had before getting behind the wheel. >> You want to be honest? How much drink there? Have a glass of wine. I had like a suz cuz I was driving. I was not doing Why was the problem? >> Well, your story is not accurate. I don't like being lied to. So, I'm trying to get the truth out of you. >> I had a couple sips of wine and that was basically it. That's it. And like I had like a couple bites of octopus to be honest and that's it. >> Okay. All right. He's going to ask you to do a couple of test. >> I want to define that. >> Well, you I asked if I could do a simple test with you up at the window. before following you out, >> which you denied that test. >> Right. Okay. >> Right. So, now the next step is I'm going to >> Okay. Hold on. Hold on. Hold on. Hold on. Slow down. >> No, I'm sorry. I'm just I'm just stressed out. >> Okay. Can you just help me explain? >> Yeah. Okay. >> Now, the next step, okay, is I'm going to run you through a couple of tests to make sure you're okay to drive. >> Mhm. >> Okay. So, the first one's going to be called the walk and turn. All right. Do you have any like >> Can I ask you something? Can I say something right now? Absolutely. If you don't feel that I that you're comfortable with me driving, if you want to take my car and drive me home, then that is fine. >> That's not what we're doing right now. >> Okay. All right. Fine. >> So, if you could just stand on the line for me. >> How? >> Just just stand there facing me. Okay. >> Do you have any injuries? >> No. >> But the light is also shining my face. >> Okay. I'll before you start the test, I'll fix that for you. All right. Now, do you feel comfortable taking the test in no shoes? You're going to be walking, turning, bouncing, >> no shoes. And no and no shoes. >> Oh, sure. >> Do you do? >> I think so. I don't know. >> Well, I'm not actually. Yeah. >> Yes. Okay. >> No problem. >> So, the first test I'm going to have you do is called the wall control. Okay. I'm going to put you in a starting position. Don't start until I tell you to start. Okay. You understand? I want you to put your left foot on the line in front of you. Okay? And your Okay. Have your left foot and your right heel touching your left toes with your hands down. >> Your right heel touches >> right heel touching your left toes like I have right here. >> The exercises are over and the signs are clear. The officers now decide to place her under arrest. >> I do too. All right, miss. I'm going to put you through another test. Okay, just stand up for me. Okay, just turn around. Okay, >> put your hands behind your back, please. Okay, and now you're getting arrested. >> No, I'm not getting arrested. >> No, I'm not. No, I'm not. >> What? No, I'm not. No, I'm not. Why? I got to relax. Relax. Relax. >> Why is this? >> Why is my father here? >> He's here. >> I need my I need my bag. Why am I getting arrested? No, I'm not. >> No, I'm not. You didn't even do anything to me. >> Listen, I'll just explain to you. Let's make it >> This is not cool right now. I'm locked. No, this is not good. Okay, >> I need my bag and everything. Okay, I'll get your bag. >> No, I need my bag and my son is in the car. This is awful. Okay, >> I can't. >> What the for me? >> Ma'am. Ma'am. Ma'am. >> Okay, stand right here. >> I will help you out. Okay. >> It is what it is at this point. >> Why is it what it is? Why is it okay? >> Don't make anything worse. I'm trying to help you. Don't make it any worse. Okay. Okay. Fine. >> We'll get whatever you need out of the car. Listen, I'm going to have your father take your son. >> Thank you. Okay. >> All right. The car will be >> It has to just by law. Okay. Your son's going to go with your father. So, I need my bag, my phone, my shoes. Okay. No problem. Okay. Thank you. >> I won't do that. We're going to go back this way. Okay. >> Okay. >> I need my >> No, I do. >> Listen, just Do you have pockets? >> Yes. >> Do you have anything in your pockets? >> No, I just need everything. Okay. >> Now in custody, the officers search her and prepare for the drive to the station. >> I just have to frisk you real quick. Okay. Make sure you don't have >> risky. >> Yes, miss. >> I don't have anything in there. >> Okay. Just make sure there's no water in here. >> Okay. Nothing. >> True. Hold on. Hold on. Hold on. >> I'm good. >> I need my phone. I need everything. >> All right. >> Okay. Got it. There's nothing here. >> Have a seat, ma'am. What's her son? Ask her something. What's your son? Grab him. Walk back to his grandfather's car. Thanks. Mhm. >> He's um T. Want to walk him back? You like that? >> Do you need anything out of the car? >> No, I'm good. >> All right. Thank you. >> Uh, right. We just got to we had some stuff we got to talk to her at the Okay. >> No, I think he's just uh that's just an ocean officer that was that was waiting with him. Okay. Thank you. Oh, it's your grandson, right? He's going to head home with you. Okay. We have to just uh tow that car. >> What's happening? >> Uh right now, she's going to be under arrest. Okay. For driving along under the influence. Okay. We have to tow the car as per John's law. All right. >> As long as you're good with giving your grandson a ride home. >> And you said you have >> with me? >> Yeah. Yeah. >> So, wait. So, she's under arrest for an >> We have to do a little >> We have to Yep. We have to go to headquarters. Couple of things, paperwork. Okay. Um, if you're able to come pick her up, we do need someone to come sign her out. So, just keep your phone handy. I'm assuming she's probably going to give you a call. >> In the end, the suspect identified as Marissa Hoff was issued several citations, including DUI, refusal to submit to testing, careless driving, lane violations, and an improper turn. She later pleaded guilty to operating under the influence and was ordered to install an ignition interlock device for 3 months along with paying $640 in fines. Number one, she thought her status put her above the law. Officers proved otherwise. On June 21st, 2024, a call brought officers to a beauty supply store after a witness reported an intoxicated woman trying to get behind the wheel. Here's what happened when they arrived. >> So, from what I understand, were you in Were you in the salon recently, ma'am? >> Were you in the salon or over here? >> Yes, I'm a hairdresser for 40 years. >> So, you're a hairdresser at that salon? >> No, it's a beauty supply. You have to be a licensed hairdresser to go in there. >> Oh, okay. Um, have you had anything to drink today, ma'am? >> No. >> No. No. I can smell alcohol coming off your breath. So, >> are you sure you're okay to drive? Is there something that we can call maybe like >> So, I mean, >> I went shopping. >> So, you haven't had anything to drink, ma'am? So, then what am I smelling on your breath? Obviously, the people in the business think that you might be under the influence of some kind of intoxicant or something. Well, I'm I'm going to stand by until that flatbed shows up cuz I don't feel comfortable getting you drying based off your speech, your gate, and the alcohol coming off your breath. >> Yeah, I like that. My 6. If you have a 600, cancel. She hasn't gotten the car yet. She won't get her ride. >> The woman insists she'll just call a tow truck to get her car home, but that's not how this works. And her attitude only goes downhill from here. Ma'am, >> why? I have to turn the air conditioner on. >> I understand that. I understand that. >> You're You're telling me that you would rather have your car towed? >> TripleA and they'll bring a flat bag to take me home. The 30 sandpiper.
