These folks strolled out of the store like nothing happened until they saw who was waiting outside. Here are five cases shoplifters try leaving the store like it's business as usual. Number five, holiday theft ends with not so merry surprise. On December 22nd, 2025, officers were dispatched to a Target store after receiving reports of an active shoplifting situation. Here's what unfolded when the authorities arrived at the scene. We're going to go wait outside. There's a male with her, but they lost track of him and they don't know if he was taking anything, but uh loss prevention is watching her and they're going to try and stop her at the door. Okay. Bring me a picture. What is it? We're just going to wait here. Okay. >> She's As I know, she's following. I called her on the way. Yeah, yeah. They're She and Annette both have eyes on her, so they're going to stop her at the foyer. There's a male with her, but >> That's what she was saying, if he's involved. Yeah. She's the one that's at least concealing and openly drinking alcohol inside the store. >> Was she drinking inside the store? >> Yeah. Cut water. And that's so Yep, we got her. Adam 16, detaining a female. All right. Hey, buddy. Uh so this What's up? What's up? This, this, this. I'll use these two bags. That's it. No. >> sure. No. That's what was taken. No, she free bagged a bunch of clothes, too. I know. I'm saying this is Okay. Sure. Yes. You print out the receipt? No. Is there a receipt in that bag? Where's your receipt? Yeah. It's not right here. Now in custody, the suspect brings up a detail that could complicate things further. And as she discusses it with the officer, the store manager returns with more bad news. That's her receipt. All right. So, you are being detained right now on suspicion of retail theft, so we just got to go through everything, so Do you mind if I ask you if you wish to talk to us? No. Talk [snorts] to you about what? It's So, if you want to talk, it's going to be about everything that happened here today. If you want to talk. Okay, no, I won't. Perfect. All right. So, how do you charge for that, too? Well, for this? illegal, but so is legal. Um We usually don't worry too much about it. Um how you transport matters. No. No, well, I'm saying so if you had say you had a bag and you had a bag in here, and you know how you can go to any of the marks around here that usually sell or sell vapes or anything. And they got the uh the resealable bags that you can use. You can buy from them for like 32326 Woo! Is that that or like Yeah. Very first offense. I thought it was supposed to be over I thought it was supposed to be if it's over four. It's over three. Oh my gosh, that's a felony? Yeah. Shocked by the possibility of facing charges, the suspect starts arguing loudly, creating even more tension on the scene. Somehow a felony or whatever the [ __ ] ever I didn't even go to court. Yeah. Well, I put it on my work. So you're being arrested for the felony of retail theft. Felony retail theft Retail theft and then did she have inside of other bags you said? Some >> Yeah, she was drinking cup water. Yeah. What? Um No, I wasn't. Where was it? Girl, stop it. I didn't even have to put that. That cup water was gone. Um That's stupid. Y'all just be trying to get people in charges for no reason. I don't know yet. I I have to You You can't write down his crazy ass name first. You put Marcus plain white. That's not a felony at all. Like what I can just a cup water. You can't know, that's wrong. Y'all trying to make it harder on me. So I'm going to make it harder on y'all. Uh no one told you >> y'all charge me for a cup water that was gone? That's stupid. No one told you You didn't drink it. It was not to go. I'm talking to you. I'm talking to him obviously. So So Yeah. So the cup water So the cup water You're carrying it around the store and you are seen on cam on on video. You're seen drinking out of it multiple times. >> Okay. Okay. I didn't know I couldn't like drink a cup water. You can't drink alcohol in public. In a store. Okay, I didn't know that. How old are you? 27 So you've been legally drinking for 6 years? Not in public, obviously. If I knew that, I wouldn't have been doing it. Doesn't that make sense? So, you're telling me for your 6 years of being legally able to drink and drinking you're telling So, again So, again, okay? You're telling me for 6 years that you've been legally able to drink She keeps challenging the officers at every turn, but they make one thing clear. This isn't going to play out on her terms. You've never drank in public, but today you just you just you just randomly decided to and then said you didn't know you couldn't drink in a public place? Yes. Yes. If I drink at a bar, I would say that's a public place. If I drink at a club, I would take that as a public place. If I drink at a store, I would take that as a public place. Either way it goes, I'm drinking like it was. So, the difference between that, they have you serving alcoholic beverages where you can still public drink. Okay, that makes more sense. Like, he makes Let me repeat that serving I'm just supposed to know. How am I supposed to [laughter] know that I can't drink in public when you can drink in public places? Like, there's a bunch of public places Um Are you doing any citation portion for the uh public drinking? I'm irritated. I would No, okay. You're not even have You're not even have anything done with the public drinking? Okay. Can I get like a gift card or something? Or even though I can't go to Target, I can have my mom go to Target and spend my money like I don't It's no reason I mean Good. What is the point of this whole thing? If it's not going to be Christmas anymore, I'm not going to need the stuff. Make it easy. Just give it back and get your card. Britney, where'd she go? She's going back right now. She's going back. I'll talk to her. How am I trespassing? Okay, quiet. Give the items back and she's going to put the funds back on your card into your account. I need her card though for it. Do you have Apple Pay? Okay, well, so she's got to go up and she's got to make the the return before any of this. So I mean you can have somebody else come back she just cannot come back to get this up. All right, see? Then make see then I just say that? I'm not a No, I'll just take my money. Okay, so I need your card. You said it's not on Apple Pay. Okay, so then we need to go to the front and then the receipt is somewhere. If you want I can I can chill with them if you want to go back. Cool with the cop. And then you can leave them. No I got to go with them. Yeah, I'm just Okay. Hey. They have everything they need to close the case, but the suspect still has a few final words to share before she's taken away. That's the training one. Do we have Do we have pictures of the training receipt? You can have it. And then also what she paid for? She don't have what she paid for. I didn't know the receipt was in there. Okay. All right. What did we do with the receipt that she paid for? >> it's in there. I think it is. No, it's not in it. I think it's inside the bag. Can I go to the bathroom? One of y'all can Excuse me. I have to relieve myself. Sounds great to me. All right. Okay, what are you talking about? She came in there being nasty to me and I can't be nasty back. >> She came in there starting stealing. How about that? >> Oh, who cares? It's how they see it. It's going to happen. Yeah, it is. Oh, yeah. Wait. Okay, who gives So what? He got a smart mouth. I can talk back to him how he talking to me. What is he talking about? It's a freedom of speech. Oh, please. He be the bigger person. Me, this is his job. He needs to be the bigger person. No, he didn't do me nothing. He don't care. He do care. That's why he offered that. You got to start Okay, yeah. That's you. All right. What? I have to use the bathroom. I need to go, like for real. Y'all didn't Y'all could have let me use the bathroom up in there. Yeah. >> Yeah. All right. I'm going to put it I'll put it down as found property. >> Okay. All right. Um there's also like a a heater that just needs to be tagged. Can you use the bath? They won't They won't let you do that. They won't let you do that when you get down to the county. Ultimately, the suspect was booked on charges of public intoxication, felony shoplifting, and possession of illegal substances. Number four. Entitled healthcare worker gets a harsh reality check from the police. On December 22nd, 2024, officers responded to a call from a retail store where a suspected shoplifter had not only been caught in the act, but had also allegedly assaulted staff during the confrontation. Officers rushed to the scene to prevent things from getting worse. She in cuffs right now? Yep. All right. You need an ambulance? They're calling. I need my inhaler. Okay. >> I need an inhaler. It's in my car. Take Put your hands behind your back. I know. Hey, you can't take my stuff. I'm going to relapse. >> Just calm down. Okay, do you have it? 49, we got to slow down. We have a detainee. Uh she's requesting an ambulance. I'm trying. Let go. I don't know what this is. Yeah, she's trying to fight. Let go of this right now. I'm not going to tell you to do it. I need to get to my inhaler. Cuz cuz we told you to let go. Nothing. My purse. Okay, take your stuff out, okay? What's your name? 49, can we also get a female officer up here, please? Can we have a chance? I'm giving you a chance. We did. I know. I'm sorry, guys. Listen, look sorry. And you're going to breathe. Look at me. We're we're we're taking her. We're going to have a female come up and search. Yeah. Okay. Officer. I'm so sorry. Do you have any weapons or anything that could hurt us? No, I'm a nurse. I really like Okay. Hey. Were you Were you reaching in your pockets or in empty pockets, Gabby? I don't have anything in my pockets. >> know that. All right. I am so sorry. I don't know what's going on. What is it? Please stop. Don't you want Don't you want to talk? 20 sir. Please. Yeah. 20. 24 7 All right. Here we're going to have No, I stopped. >> Oh, sorry. Sorry, I didn't know you were going to have me. I was talking to you. All right. Just chill. Can you search my stomach? Like what? Your shirt? Yes. All right. Here. I can't breathe. I'm sorry. Okay, we have an ambulance coming. No, I don't need an ambulance. Well, that's what we can do for you. >> do I go to if I want to They're They're going to determine if you need to go when they get here, all right? She gets emotional and begins pleading with the officers, hoping for some sympathy, but they make it clear that the seriousness of her actions can't be brushed aside. I am so sorry. I just wanted to buy something. I believe so. Please stop. Just to verify multiple times you guys aren't wanted to sign or criminal trespass. I'm so sorry. I am so sorry. Please, I'm so sorry. I warned you once, I warned you twice. Just be quiet. Okay. Okay? I don't want to hear about it anymore. Officer. This is what happens. I am so sorry. We're going to have We're going to have a female come up here and search you, all right? Can I take off my officer. I can't breathe. I really can't breathe. Okay, we'll stop. Here, just breathe for now. Wow. So many officers right here. I'm so sorry. When the when the female get Huh? That's all Please don't look through my stuff. We have to. You know what? You're not asking me for favors, so I was telling Okay, what you're going to do is you're going to listen to me and these officers. I am. We have every right to go through your stuff. All right, I'm sorry. No money. No money. Right? So you came here to steal. No, I didn't. I had my cards. What do you mean? Oh my god. It's going to be a long night for you. What? Oh, here's your officer. I think we should just Okay. All right. I can't. Please let me go, officer. I can't do that. Please, I can't breathe. Okay, we'll stop. Don't get worked up. Just breathe normal. Please. Officer. She makes one last attempt to talk her way out of trouble, but the officers aren't swayed by the polite words or empty promises. We're just going to take her. You won't be going very far back. Oh, hard taker. Uh, did she hit you guys or anything? No, just in the struggle. Okay. We uh we'll get all the details >> do you guys want to take me to the back? We'll take care of her. We'll get all the details from you. If we had just done what we originally do, we take you to the back and we we process you and we do paperwork. And then we get to take you in. Okay, can we do that? Yeah, you know we can't do that anyway. The what? Can we please do that? Uh unfortunately Okay, they told you that? Most likely going the other route with it. They're going to take you to the station, fingerprint you, take photos, and then Yeah, can we do that? Hm? Can we just do it in the office? There's something opposite that. Okay. Please. Well, let's take it one step at a time. We're going to have a female officer search you, and the paramedics check you out, and then we'll go from there. So Okay. Be careful. Left index finger. Right index finger. Um So, I I again, I've no idea what you guys got. I have It's Hoffman, so we'll talk to him. >> right now? >> He's back in the back room. Um Okay. But I don't You can uh talk to him. Usually we do all this here, but since he resisted, and then you know I all this happens. I didn't resist. Did they hurt me? I want to get prints and photos. Obviously, I'm going to do what the officers want me to. Of course. Okay. But what I am going to tell you is we're not going to accommodate somebody who is trying to get away from us, and then is not being cooperative after they commit a crime. You understand that, right? Like I'm trying to make make you understand the best way I can, okay? I'm not [snorts] making any promises, and I'm definitely not going above what these officers want. If they're saying that we could have done a local ordinance, cite her, and released her, however, she upped the ante. She upped the stakes. She wasn't listening. She wasn't cooperative. She ran away. I was really scared. The suspect struggles to admit fault, but the officers take the time to point out exactly where things went wrong. They told me they were going to put me on the floor. >> you think is going What do you think is going when you Listen. Listen. What do you think is going to happen when you steal and then you try to run away? Do you think we're just going to be like, "Thank you for stealing. Bye."? No, of course not. I didn't You know what I mean? Right. So, let me talk to the officer. I literally have no idea other than I hear resisting and retail theft. Okay. Possible injury to staff, too, so. Okay, this is not looking good. I didn't >> Just sit tight. Just sit tight. I need for you to just breathe. Okay. And if it is something that you do go back to the station, okay? So, you go back to the station, we take care of it there. No big deal. I'm just scared. I understand that. But, what do you think we're going to do to you? We're not going to You think we're going to purposely try to hurt you? No. Do you think we Do you think I want you to hurt my officers? Okay, I don't I don't want you to hurt my officers and we don't want to hurt you, either, okay? So, let me go see what's going on. Sit tight. Don't keep asking them, "Hey, we're doing it here. We're doing it here." because at the end of the day, we dictate. You don't dictate, okay? So, looks like what you took was over $800. What? Yes, so that in itself, we have to call that in for a felony. No, please. And then, um, Oh my god. Calm down. What's your name? Tania. Tania, listen. Listen. Nobody told you to to steal. I know. I'm And then, secondly, because we're being up front, you are also getting a charge for Are you okay? You're hurt? What's what's going on? I think I might have hurt my wrist trying to get out of this small I'm just so sorry. Okay. Well, So, I'm going to be in big trouble. Well, yes. But, there's pros and cons to this. With things nearly resolved, the officer uses the opportunity to pass along a bit of hard-earned guidance. What kind of history do you have? No big Okay. Never Listen, listen. So, what's going to happen, no matter what it's not like saying overnight with us. However, they're going to be with us for a while because we are calling felony retail for a felony. I don't know if they're going to give you the felony. I have no idea. Really? Yes, yes, really. Exactly. You can't just come up here and steal and then and then run away and push people and think that that's okay. You can't just steal. Do you I think you understand because you got caught. You don't understand because of what you actually did. No, I did. Again, you're going to take your bath. You're going to be fine. I'm really I was so scared. I understand that. I understand that but that doesn't make it right. All right. Do you have any lacerations or any signs of bruising or anything? Um yeah, that's okay. What's that? You might need your help. What is it? All right. This is just Got it. It's a different story, I believe. Yeah. You bought this? Yeah, there is I mean, to be fair, I think that's a valid question. I know. Correct? Okay, then. If you're going to cough, cough down. I'm sorry. I don't want you coughing over here. I know. I'm just so sorry. That's your problem. Yeah. I don't have a gun at all. I am Ultimately, the suspect was charged with resisting a loss prevention officer and felony retail theft. Number three, woman shoplifting spree ended with a surprise she didn't expect. On June 24th, 2025, officers were dispatched to a local Meyer after reports of a shoplifting incident. >> [music] >> According to loss prevention, this wasn't the suspect's first run-in with the store. Here's how it unfolded when police arrived. Hi, how are you? Hi, did they assign you to this one or are you just filling in? I'm the Loss Prevention. I'm a guy on the floor. You're covering today? Um this is her. I just sent this to the officer. Oh, oh. Officer Davis. Davis, yeah. Yeah, she's got short short black shorts on. >> Can't miss her. Yeah, I just saw her at Kroger and Sears. You would have definitely that would have been her. >> Yeah, she was definitely on board. Okay. Once she got right there by the light as I was talking to this guy. They did? Yay! I think it's that. Here, can you show me where like the video of what you I heard you believe in? So, she came in. I recognized her immediately. Okay. And then immediately she grabbed three or four packs of batteries. Okay. And placed them on top. >> Is this her MO? She comes in and grabs two quick stuff? Yes, I Yeah, the last time she was here, um which I haven't got a chance to file trespassing on her. Okay. >> But she ended up dumping a whole bunch of stuff in a reusable bag. Okay, we'll definitely trespass her at this point. Now, have you caught up with Has she been caught at other stores doing this or is it just this one? I believe so. Um so All right. So, she went in one of these aisles and concealed them. So, that's her coming all the way from the back. She never paid for the 20 oz either, which I know that's not a big deal. >> No, but it's added to the list. Yep, so that should all be in this stuff. And then, when I I saw I missed her uh going out the doors, so I looked at video and I saw that she was walking that way. So, I went out this way and I saw her grabbing all her stuff and she put that back into this reusable bag that she had I I think it's a reusable bag. Okay. And then, left the empty cart there. So, she just picked the bag up and started walking away. Yep. One like they said, definitely batteries, 20 oz soda. Uh The loss prevention officer shares further details regarding the suspect's shoplifting incident. Meanwhile, other officers catch the suspect leaving the store, and it does not end well for the suspect. Um she had other stuff, but I couldn't identify. And I don't think I'm going to have good angle of what it was. Yeah. But, when she walked in, do you have her when she walked in? Cuz I'm assuming like she doesn't have anything really. >> She was very quick. So, I happened to just come by this way and I saw her. So, she wasn't in here for that long. You were you were like I'm >> I recognize this face. Hey, Christine. Hold up a second for me. Come over here. Come over here. Yes. Over here. So, ma'am, you're just out here by the Minute Clinic. Do you have your ID on you? No, I don't. Okay. You're Christine, right? Maybe. Maybe you're Christine. I'm sorry. You're sorry? What are you sorry about? I don't know what I did. Okay. Where are you coming from? Um I'm just getting ready to go back on the bus to go back home. Okay. Were you mirandized? Uh yeah. >> Okay. All right. So, you know what we're here for. Yeah. Okay. I'm sorry. Give me the bag. What else? Everything in there, too? Yeah, it's all Take off your backpack. Who's Christie? Hands behind your back, folks, together. Can you get me this phone? You already been trespassed from Myer before, right? >> Go three. No. Never? Never. I'm talking at any Myer store. Um I don't know. I don't think so. Uh I would probably say so. What's your name? Christie. Last name, Christie? You got a ID in there? Um 56, she available for a search. Now that the suspect is detained, the officers examine the massive amount of stolen goods she tried to conceal, and the numbers are adding up quickly. Yeah, I'm still my wife's here. All right. Stuff over here in this car. Have a seat. You said you do have an ID in there? No, I don't have an ID. Don't put your feet all the way in. Christie, you said with a K or C H? All right. Same time in, okay? Working on that now, but um also all packed the batteries in the 20 oz Coke. Um Okay. Now, here's Now, this I'm wondering if she didn't take a bunch of stuff from in there. Cuz she was coming out pushing a cart. That's all Myer. The Myer almost What's that? She stole all this? All of this is from Myer, I think. You're in trouble, cuz they did just walk inside and I was coming in and Was she walking out? And she had just come out with the cart. That's been quick. Quick uh Yeah. So, No. No, I don't know anything about her. So, what I what I'm asking here right now is I want to get the right product back to the right place. So, if there's stuff in here that belongs to Kroger, I want to get it to Kroger. I don't need no stuff that belongs to Myers. I want to get the right stuff to Myers. Yep. What about all that Folgers? Folgers? Folgers? Oh, that'll look like it goes to So, even this Folgers that's in the bag So, the situation takes another turn when the suspect lets something slip, something that makes her case even harder to defend. Jolly Ranchers That goes to Kroger. Kroger? Kroger? I'll do for Myers, right? So, basically this This. That's all Myers stuff. Yep. All right, go and step on out. We got to search you real quick. Do you have anything on you that's going to stick me, hurt me, poke me? Um I have a lighter in this pocket. All right. You do any No. All right, so nothing, no needles, nothing on you? No, I just got 26 months ago. All right, can you widen your stance for me, please? >> Yeah, I'm sure. All right, do you have a bra on? Yeah. Anything stuffed in the bra? No? Okay. I want to put the gun in the I'd rather you tell me than me find it. So, you sure? >> Yeah, I don't have anything. Okay. It zips in the front. It's one of those Okay. Can you verify the female that you have? Yep, copy social. Is this the lighter you were talking about? Okay. Is this the only thing you can think of in your pocket? Is this where stuff Yeah, that's where stuff is. These are your pockets in here, nothing? >> Nothing. Okay. She does have a in her county, Franklin County. It'll be for 50s. Do you have a warrant? Madison County, I think. Madison County? Yeah. Sounds like Franklin County. Yeah. You sure it's not Franklin County? Wait, hold on. Lift up your arms for me. Nothing in your waistband? Okay. Lift up your arms for me. Regret sets in as the officer finishes up. But by now, the officers have made their decision. At this point, there's no undoing what's been done. Nothing in your hair, just the sunglasses? All right, I'm going to take these off, okay? I will do the Franklin County. I don't know, man. That's how I feel. I don't have nothing. Just kind of Madison, the same thing. We've been picking up All right, nothing naughty that I might have missed or anything? Cuz if you have a warrant, that means you're going to jail, okay? And uh what that means is they're going to change you out when you get to jail. And if there's anything shoved in you, on you, anywhere, it'll automatically you'll get additional felonies. So, I'd rather you tell me now so we don't have to give you a felony. Anything on you? You sure? You had to think about that pretty hard. Nothing? No? Okay. All right. You able to try to get those back on? All right. You can have a seat in the cruiser, okay? I'm going to close the door. I'll make sure we get the air on for you, okay? And also, for the record, Christine, uh you're trespassed again from Meyer. So, I know they already trespassed it's in their system already. Uh for I don't know which which Meyer, but uh a couple years back you were tres- trespassed from there, so. Um what's going to happen from our side is you're going to be issued a summons here in a little bit for theft and trespass from that Meyer. So, you got a outstanding two outstanding warrants for through Franklin County. One is uh felony theft, and the other one is felony possession of through Franklin County Sheriff's Office. You got something through Madison County, but we're not messing with that right now. It's a traffic thing. You just got to take care of that, so. I think we'll be all right. Yeah. Thank you. All right. Thanks, Christine. All right. In the end, the suspect was formally charged with trespassing after warning and felony retail theft. Number two. Begging won't save you. This shoplifter learned that fast. On October 4th, 2025, Freehold Township Police were dispatched to a Macy's after loss prevention caught a woman trying to leave the store [music] with concealed merchandise. Here's how it played out. Okay. What do we got? No ID? How you doing, ma'am? Uh no English? Okay. Um What are you guys Oh, you guys speak Spanish? Probably more than I do. Okay. No ID. Okay. What she do? Well, she she put everything into this bag. It's the stuff that they have over on the table over there and they have it up there. Yeah, can you can you show me the video? >> [clears throat] >> What was she doing exactly? Walking around just concealing over here. I just was watching her. I just saw the the bag empty. Just And she went over into this corner right here and I'll I'll bring back the She didn't conceal anything. Hey Claudio. Yeah. Somebody's at the employee entrance. Do you guys have um someone able to do a statement form for me? Yeah, he You got cool. Excellent. Thank you. Hey, they're just pulling up the video for me now. Apparently she concealed all this in that bag. Hey, what's up man? How are you? That's her That's her real name also, so Oh, you did get some info? >> No, I got nothing. >> when I um I couldn't I'll see if I pull a wallet or something or You know, I mean he is speaking Spanish. As officers look for someone to help translate in Spanish, loss prevention walks them through how the theft unfolded. But with clear video footage, the explanation speaks for itself. And so I get this when I search for survival wallet ID or something. She got she selected that and then you'll see right here she'll just She's looking up she just put it in the bag right there. Mhm. Then she went um she by that time she had like a few items already then she went downstairs to the first floor. Last thing she selected was this uh Guess handbag before she tried to walk out into the mall. Okay, so she was walking towards the exit and that's when you guys went and stopped her. Okay. I got five of them so Okay. And one of you is doing the um someone's doing the witness >> statements. form? Yeah, be that'd be great. I appreciate it. Okay. Oh. Do you understand 302 there? Yeah, it's like over 200. Oh, is that an ID? Yeah, from Peru. Okay. Sorry, I don't know. Is she saying she wants to pay now? But >> [snorts] >> All right then.
