So, you can either walk in peacefully or we can walk you in there. Okay. >> Loss prevention already confirmed the items weren't paid for. And so, now the officer needs the woman to return inside for questioning. But, as expected, that's not something she's willing to do without a fight. >> Here's the deal. The reason that we are here is Walmart Lost called us and said that there are some items in here that you did not pay for. That is why we're here. I believe I stopped and I'm stopped. >> That's why we want to walk you in there and see what's going on. >> Get it figured out. >> Uh, no. I'm from New York. I would rather wait for my attorney. My sister listened to >> Okay. I I'd rather wait outside bringing your supervisor everything. >> So he is the supervisor. >> You are the supervisor. He is the supervisor. >> You witnessed me take things. >> I did not I didn't tell you that. >> Okay. >> That is what Walmart is. That is what we are here investigating. Walmart is the one the Walmart associates are the ones that are >> Which Walmart associate? Okay. >> Why? >> You don't have a choice. >> Because you are the suspect of an investigation. >> How am I Let me finish. If you refuse to give us your name, you will obstruct. >> If she really had nothing to hide, cooperating would have cleared things up on the spot. But beyond giving her name, she refuses to do anything that might actually help her case. >> If I refuse to give you my name, you are arresting me. >> That is correct. >> For >> That is correct. >> For obstructing. >> Obstructing what? >> Your identification. >> Yes. >> You're not telling us your name. >> Why would I need to tell you my name? >> Because we're investigating a crime right now. And you are the suspect in the crime. >> What's the crime? >> I just told you the crime is retail theft. That is a crime that we are investigating. >> Can you please tell me your name or give me your ID? >> I can wait. My sister lives. >> No. >> Cannot wait. You going You can either tell This is the last time I'm going to tell you. You can either give us your name or you are going to be You are going to be arrested. >> Arrested for what? >> For obstructing a consultant. I'm giving you a lawful order to provide your name in your birthday and your identification. You go put. All right. >> Okay. And then what's your middle initial? >> No middle initials. >> What's your date of birth? >> I'm going into the car to get >> Just tell me your your birth year. Okay. Okay. 14. 140. Copy. One. Last of Common. First of my birthday just my cousin just gave me some credit. to get me some stuff so we can celebrate my early birthday. All right. Oh, Midwest. >> Okay. Sorry. >> Yeah. >> I think so. Or did he leave? Did he leave? >> Even after officers explain exactly what's at stake, she digs her heels in and keeps resisting. >> Okay. >> Can I have your name? Jay Wolf. What is your first name, please? >> Uh, officer. >> Officer. Yeah. >> Officer Wolf, what is your full name? >> Officer >> B. Lewis. Okay. >> Of Fallon PD. >> Yes, ma'am. >> Is this because of the harassment I claimed uh across from the neighbor? >> I have no idea what you're even talking about. >> All right. So, it was an officer Voltron. He did the whole thing. I'm the only >> uh I'm going to need to see your ID. Okay. >> I don't have it. >> You don't have your New York ID with you? I have my new idea. >> Did you try her out of New York? >> Huh? >> I'm talking to somebody else. I just Copy. >> I have to let that other [ __ ] wallet give me one second. Yes, it's expired, but I just um went in for >> I went in for an Illinois license. >> Um I know I have like unregistered tags. I have my whole thing. I have not I have >> 140 copy one by file out of New York. I'm sorry. Can I Can I Yes, sir. >> Rather than explaining the situation, she steers the conversation toward her past, talking about her criminal history while completely avoiding the stolen merchandise sitting in her car. remember you remember >> um where I technically assaulted a older guy and he had pictures of my sister and my niece and >> Okay. All right. Just checking this. This has to be I have the receipts. I have my sister. She can come down here. She lives on. >> So, we don't need your sister, but uh you said you have the receipts. Where And what what are the receipts for? It's a digital receipt for Bkari. >> For train, you want this >> forki. This I got it. And this I got to get it. Uh, this I gotation. Everything is unopen. I got this yogurt. This is for me. I, you know, stomach. >> My my niece, she's a vegan. and a wonder bra. >> Okay. So, uh here's the deal. Do you have a receipt from Walmart from the information? Uh >> I have a receipt. It was a refunded receipt. My sister has it. That's why I said my sister will come and bring the receipt. I I exchanged it and then I walked out. I'm cleaning my car. And then you guys pull up. I have no qualms about you doing your job. Like, I get it. I'm fine. Sweet Jesus. Midwestern. >> As officers press her for answers, she suddenly comes up with a new excuse. Another reason why she claims she can't go back into the store. >> All right. So, at this point, we need to go inside. If if you're clear, then we want to clear this up and make sure don't want to go back inside. I don't want to go back inside simply because if a loss prevention person if it's the same guy or woman that was looking at my butt and making inappropriate comments, then no, I don't want to. I'm from New York. I don't need all >> So, what what's the description of the person who is looking at you and making inappropriate comments? >> Both men and women. Well, >> give me a description. Physical description. medium black. Well, I can't say black. She was He or she was miss and there was Look. >> All right. So, so at this point, uh, we're we're going to need to go in there. And and I'm trying to be as nice and respectful as I possibly can. >> And I appreciate that. And I appreciate that from And I appreciate that from all like you, >> okay? >> And I appreciate that from all of you. I am not a hotheaded crazy. >> Y'all are just doing your job. Like it is fine. But I have I nothing's open. Like I don't say, "Oh, I'm drinking like >> Okay. So we'll we'll get to that portion when we get to that portion. right now. I just kind of want to figure out what's going on here. Okay. >> Sure. >> Um, so to make that a little bit easier, if we could walk in there and and talk to them. >> No. Uh, >> once I once I walk into that establishment with the stuff and then it doesn't matter whether my cousin comes in with her um master card and then says Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I'm >> Why would your cousin have to come back with her master card and >> cousin? Sister. My cousin. >> You said cousin, but >> I did say cousin. I have a million cousins. >> Okay. >> I have one sister that I live here. >> The officer cuts through the excuses with a direct question, one that the woman clearly wasn't ready to answer. >> All right. So, why would she need to come back with her master card? What What's going on with that? >> Because I was using it on my phone. >> Sometimes I I'm from New York. Like sometimes it >> I got you. >> I'll wait until y'all people come out with the footage. Y'all can confirm the footage and then I can go out. Other than that, I'm I'm I'm not going anywhere. I didn't do anything wrong. >> Okay. Do you go by any other names? >> What? >> Well, I'm just asking. Do you go by any other names? >> Police. >> Okay. Any other legal names that would be associated with your driver's license or anything like that? >> Polus. >> Okay. Okay. All right. Well, we're going to hang tight right here then. Okay. Uh my supervisor's inside getting video footage and and seeing what's going on in there. Okay. Here's the deal. Watch Just watch the video. Okay. It has you in the store picking out the alcohol, right? And then leaving the store without paying for a thing. All on video. That's where we're at. So, right now you are going to be detained for retail theft. >> Okay. >> So, go ahead and turn around for me. Okay. >> That's where we're at. >> Go ahead and turn around for me. >> Can I Can I >> We'll talk through everything here in just a second, but go ahead. I need to put you in handcuffs. Okay. >> Okay. >> All right. So, put your hands behind your back for me. Okay. In the end, all the stalling and excuses don't change where this is headed. She's placed in the back of the patrol car and taken to the station. That's all right. If you sit back, I'm I'm going to re >> No, no, go ahead. Go ahead. Go ahead. >> Let me get this. >> No, you should just, you know, this is all I'm seeing my phone real quick. Jesus Christ. I've been watching. >> All right, I'm going to turn up the air real quick. Don't steal things. >> I don't know. It's up to the commissioner. >> In the end, both suspects were charged with two counts of theft and two counts of conspiracy to steal. Number three, serial shoplifters crime spree finally comes to an end after one mistake too many. On January 11th, 2025, police officers confronted a woman in a Target parking lot who was apparently caught shoplifting. Here's how it all went down. I'm coming out. I was >> All right. I'll be out with them. >> So, uh, I just got called because there was some shoplifting >> there. They had books and I put them I gave them to the girl on the way out. My children came in who I gave them to her on the way out. My children came in with books and they were looking at books the whole time and we walked out and she said that I had books and there was a pair of boots under the car cart that I wasn't sure if I was going to get or not that I had totally forgot about cuz my cart was filled with children. >> Okay. And I told her, I said, "I'm so sorry." And she said, "No, this is not a mistake. This is not a mistake. My daughter, who is two or three, is sobbing, trying to give the girl the books back, and she says, "No, too bad." >> Okay. So, what about some So, there's books. What about groceries? >> No. >> Okay. No, you don't have any groceries at all. Do you have any Did you buy anything when you were in there? >> No, I I put some sweaters back and they had the books. >> Okay. All right. So, you have your kids in the car. Who's Who's driving? >> My husband. >> All right. Let's have him turn off the car cuz we got to figure this all out. Okay. >> Okay. So, if you want to open the door, >> can you turn the car off? >> We got a we got a call about some shoplifting. Okay. I don't know. I'm getting the situation right now. We're going to figure it all out right now. Okay. >> Okay. >> Um, let's start. Do you have an ID on you? Hey, >> thank you. >> Yep. >> According to the woman, she was not able to purchase anything in the store because things were too hectic, and the staff even accused her of stealing. But what the officers discover in her car's trunk? Tells a different story. >> So, you didn't take anything from the store. There's nothing in your trunk from inside the store at all. Okay. Can we open it and check? Yeah, there's stuff from We've been running errands all day. >> That's fine. Okay. Yeah. Do you mind popping the trunk for me just to check? >> I I'll let you go ahead. Check on 3275. >> Okay. So, what's that? >> This is stuff from a different Target that >> a different Target. >> Yeah. I've been looking for this stuff for baking. I've been going to different Targets to try to find it. >> Okay. With the opening of the trunk, things are not looking good for the woman and the officer drops a vital question that will determine how the rest of everyone's night will go. >> So, >> okay. So, you don't do you have a receipt from the other target for this? Can I look in my purse? >> Sure. Where's the purse at? Up in the >> Yeah, >> she's going to do you know where I put the receipt from Target? >> She's going to look in her purse for her receipt. Can >> you check the bags again? >> Sure. With a woman visibly distressed and receipts nowhere to be found, the officer decides to get the store's point of view on this whole situation. Listen, so I got this call. So now I just need to investigate it. Okay. >> So we went to S. Can I close this so my kids don't get cold? >> My mother lives in Rockford. So we went I was looking for this stuff for baking. >> Okay. >> We were going to do a Valentine's craft. >> Okay. Okay. I see this. This is cool. Okay. I'm going to give that back to you. So let me go talk with her in there and figure out what's going on. Okay. I'm going to have this other officer hang out out here for a minute. All right. So, you can go sit in the car for now. Okay. Get warm and then we're going to we're going to get this figured out. Okay. >> Yes, sir. >> With the store's help, the officer discovers significant information that paints a really bad picture for the woman. Here's what happened next when the officer confronted her with that info. >> Hey, Carly, can you come out and talk to me for a minute? Okay. So, they have a whole thing. They've been tracking all of your thefts for a long time. Okay. You are on camera 15 times at different targets all over the place stealing things. Okay? So, I don't want to hear the excuses about how you were just, you know, you forgot it was underneath the thing. I mean, you have a history with Target. Okay? Luckily for you, all they want to do today is trespass you. Okay? So, you you're not allowed to come back to this Target. If you do come back to this Target, you could get a ticket. If you remain, you can get arrested. Okay. Um, where are the Pokemon card set things that you took today? >> I didn't take >> Okay, she has you on video taking the Pokemon cards. Where are they? >> Okay, cool. >> Do you have anything else at all from this store? Okay, that cart as well. Okay. Anything in your car from this store today? No. >> Okay. >> Absolutely not. >> Cuz if we find out that you have other stuff, >> I have my children. >> Okay. >> So, right now, I'm going to get a trespass form started. I'm going to go talk to them again, make sure they don't want charges, and you can leave here today. Hopefully, very, very lucky. Okay. Take a sec. >> After consulting with a store on what the next step should be, the officers decide that it's time to put a stop to the woman's unacceptable behavior and show her that her reckless actions have heavy consequences. back here with me, please. All right. Go and face my car. You're going to be placed under arrest for retail theft. Okay. She decided she wants charges. Go face that way for me. Side, please. All right. Do you have anything in your pocket here? >> I don't think so. >> All right. I'm going to check your pocket really quick. Make sure there's nothing in here. Okay. Nothing else on your purse. I see you're wearing like yoga pants, so you should have a bunch of anything in there. Okay. All right. >> Can I at least tell my husband what's going on? >> We'll tell him what's going on. And grab a seat for me. Just anywhere. >> Yep. Just scooch right in. I know it looks confusing. It's not. Put the seat belt right over you. >> All right. Sit tight for a second. Okay. The night ends with a woman facing retail theft charges. Number two, officers investigate a shoplifter and discover an entire illegal setup in the woods. On May 31st, 2023, officers responded to a call about a suspected shoplifter at a local retail store. As soon as they arrive, staff are already outside, eager to explain exactly what happened. >> Working on the charges deeper than that. Are you security? >> Yeah, we could both are. >> What happened? Let see what charges we got. >> Uh, yeah. No, she went down. She went down to those bushes, but you know, like I know that that crap goes deep. >> I've never been back there. >> Uh, yeah. No, it go deep. >> Um, what did she do? >> Uh, she basically came in. Well, he saw her come in, saw her concealing like a bunch of uh cosmetics, close to like 200 something dollars. So, we got out to the front stuff some her purse and then she also seal some inside her purse. So we got to stop her. She didn't want to come back. Of course, she can't touch her. So like at least try to retrieve the merchandise. At that time she like you can't touch me. She kind of almost gave me like a pimp slap just about and she just walked off. He actually walked off. >> Would you be able to identify her? >> Yeah. >> Can I get you start on a statement? >> Yeah. I'm going to try to go over there. You guys want to press charges? >> I bought a spot. >> Who already got opened up? >> We got to ask. All right, hold on to this real quick. All right, the same thing for both of y'all. First name, last name. Explain what happened for both y. Let me see if I can go uh if my partner get you. They have >> like a homeless camp. >> I cuz I live in an apartment complex right there. It goes back there and there's a lot of them back there and they kind of like all stay. In their statements, both staff members confirmed that the woman stole beauty products and that things turned physical when they confronted her, leaving one of them hurt. >> So, if I find her, would you be able to identify her? >> Yeah, of course. >> Who and then >> just give me about how much you think she stole and what she stole. Whoever saw her concealing, don't talk about Don't talk about what you guys are going to write. So it doesn't >> I need you to tell me what you did, what happened to you, and what you saw. What happened to you? >> Gotcha. >> So you're going to be a victim to the battery. >> Mhm. >> Sorry. Going to be a victim to the pet ear. >> That's your security. Both y'all security. >> Correct. >> Okay. >> Was there a girl standing here? >> Yeah, that's what we're looking for. >> She following me. >> What are you, Da or Uber? No, no. I met her a few days ago. She's working for me. Where is she? I'm taking her with me. >> Well, if it's what I'm looking for, she's going to jail. >> Oh my god. Really?
