Some people leave stores with receipts. These ones, however, left with a police escort. Here are four cases when people got caught stealing. Number four, shoplifting duo caught red-handed with over $1,400 worth of Target merch. On January 31st, 2024, a Target employee called for help after spotting a man who appeared to be shoplifting. Officers arrived just in time to catch the suspect walking out. >> Get your hand out of your pocket. Get your hand out of your pocket. >> I didn't start. >> Okay, you put your hands in the pocket. >> Okay. I don't want I don't want to see that. Okay. >> Here. >> Keep your hands up. All right. >> Take nothing out of the store. >> No, I didn't. Is >> this your phone? I mean, thank you. >> You got any ID? >> Where Where's your wallet? You mind if I get it? >> Carlos, you still live in Bensonville? One female >> Victor 105. >> Putting this right back in your pocket. Okay. >> Okay. >> Where's your hat, man? >> All right. >> Yeah. Just take a seat right there. So that address on your ID is still current, right? >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. Okay. >> If anything, I don't have a phone number yet on here. The arrest is made without issue and now it's time for the officers to gather details from the people who witnessed it unfold. When I initially picked them up, I was on my camera. So when I saw them back in men's, they were um walking around my men section and all of a sudden he had selected a men's pair of items. Then they went past the last point of checkout without paying. They made it to the vestibule. He identified himself as loss prevention. He shoves a card at him and then the mail ran in the store and didn't really run back. But then he was like kind of caught up and then he ran out the best. >> And that's that's what we had. >> And you guys rolled up. Thank goodness cuz he was gone. >> 1340 or 1360. Sorry. Is the total. >> Uh here. Let me take a picture. Let's do that. No problem. This is everything here. >> Yeah. Take this as well if you want. >> Yeah. She was in the ceiling and stuff and everything right away. She like I'm not with him. I'm not with him. As far as we know, she doesn't have anything. >> Well, so she was in Lyn concealing the stuff into the bags. She gave him the cart to eventually push off. They were on this side for about 5 minutes waiting on you guys. And I think my team spooked them. You guys probably heard me on this map. >> And then they came all the way. She left the cart. He grabbed it, went out. >> Pretty simple. >> Okay. What do you want? >> I'll prosecute. Yep. >> Especially for 1,400 bucks. So >> yeah, these are worth four bills. >> Yeah. Alone. And the scooter scooter by itself is 350. So yeah, >> this mermaid deal too. >> Is it on there? Sorry. Disney. >> Alana, you got your my device. $33.99. >> Yeah, there's 33 and then the 40 is the Sonic. >> Okay. >> Um, >> according to store staff, the suspect wasn't working solo. They reveal he had an accomplice and explain exactly how they pulled it off. >> Did you shoot a video? Yeah, I literally just like with the last three minutes is when I picked them up. I had their last couple seconds, but with her shoving everything in those Target bags, it was game time cuz that that scooter I'll be able to get as much of everything. >> So they they went >> Yeah, that was Yeah. >> How far did they get out? >> I got him in the vest. As soon as he hit the vestigial, I went out and fired security and he started panicking right away. >> Both of them taking items from the store and putting them in. She whenever I had originally picked her up, she was the one that was in control of the cart. And whenever they were in M, she started like actually concealing stuff in there. So when they got up here, they switched. So over at that entrance, she was waiting for him because he was by the entrance looking around for us and you guys. Then they abandoned that side, came over here. >> So safe to say they were both loading up the car. >> So her saying that she wasn't involved is a complete with him. Where was she at? >> Like 5t behind her or 5t behind him. And then as I said when I said she didn't in she's like he didn't even do anything like we didn't do anything like >> and that was on the east >> that was on this over here. Okay. >> Okay. >> Yep. Perfect. I'll get you guys loaded up everything as far as video and shot to you. >> You got a card or >> Yeah. What do you need? >> Just a report number and a card from you if I can. That way I know where to send it to you. >> Victor want keep report. >> I'll have have everything organized for you guys. >> Yes, please. Awesome. Thank you, man. I will get that shout out to you. Appreciate you guys. Thank you for being quick with it. >> Absolutely. Hold on. >> I got some. >> You know what time they came in roughly? >> I don't. I literally just picked them up when they went in these last couple selections. So, I'll get you all everything loaded up for you. I'll number all the videos for you, too, as far as when they arrive on parking lot and everything. >> Okay, >> that way it makes it easy for you to report, but I'll get everything compiled for you. >> All right, sounds good. >> With a manager statement in hand, the officers regroup with their team outside to plan their next steps. >> Amanda, he wants to prosecute, 1400 in total. He >> AP guy, they went past the last purchase. Yeah. >> So, like I said, 1400 total. They're both involved. He wants to prosecute. So, >> he doesn't have the exact time when he came in. Um, he just picked him up from the men's section. Okay. >> Is she okay to go? >> No. Okay. >> Victor one. So, one female custody and one male. >> You want or I'll steal my car? I don't care. Where you at? I'm over there. I don't know where where you're at. I mean, either way, >> doesn't matter. We're all going to the same place. >> Yes, I know. >> Do you want them or no? >> Go. Just take >> I said I'm going this way. Why you stop me? >> Check out her out. Right. What? You pulled it out. I heard it. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. >> Cuz I heard Richie calling out detainment for some reason. >> No detainment. All right. Is that even a word? >> Hey, listen. I've been hanging out with Jars for a while and you know what? I'm going to Google that now >> because I argued that question two days ago with Angie and she googled it and she proved me wrong. >> Detainment. >> Not detainment, a different word that she came up. I'm like, "You're making up." She goes, "No, it's a real word." I'm like, "No, it's not." She googled it. Sure. The definition is behind it. After wrapping up their work, the officers prepare to hand the case off, leaving the suspects to answer for what they've done. >> So, you need anything from them or you got everything you needed? >> We got everything. >> Yeah. >> He's got the whole >> No, he doesn't have it yet. >> Miss, I want to read you something. Okay. >> You just got the uh >> Just make sure you hear me. received silent anything. >> Do you want me to go and give him the link for the video to send it? You have the right to speak to an attorney and have an attorney. >> You can't afford an attorney provided for you. >> So, thank you. >> I hear you. It's just a t-shirt. Please mark for the female. >> What is it? We ask if she's got any history. >> No. >> DV. I know that was disgusting. >> Your car, Tony. My car. Just go to my approach. >> Lean back for me, please. I'm going to get the seat belt on. You okay? Investigators confirmed the stolen merchandise totaled close to $1,400. As a result, both individuals were booked for grand theft. Number three, mother daughter shoplifting team gets a harsh reality check from police. On September 20th, 2024, officers were dispatched to a department store after reports came in about two women suspected of shoplifting. It doesn't take long before officers locate the pair in a nearby parking lot. >> Come over here. >> Up here, guys. >> What's the problem? >> What's the problem? You tell me. What's going on, Jules? >> What happened over there? >> We stopped the Jesus. >> Okay. Yeah. I'm with the two female blast. >> Oh, wow. >> Wow. >> Just go over there real quick with them. I got these guys. Oh, wow. What we do? >> I don't know. You tell me. >> We didn't do anything. >> All right. What happened, Jules? >> I stopped. We went to Jules. >> All right. What about the two guys you're with? >> You want to know guys? >> Come on. >> And we've been working out with any guys. >> Okay. Then where you stay at? >> Where we stay at? >> Yeah. >> On the south side, Chicago. >> Okay. Why are you here then? >> We was out here visiting my brother. >> Okay. Let's cut the Just Just Just Just listen to me, okay? I'm really not in a mood for some nonsense, okay? Just listen. Just Just listen. I don't need I don't need all the antics. Okay. >> No, no. You telling us we're just guys, so I'm not going to sit and listen to it, but you telling us, "Oh, where's the guys? We're not with any guys." >> Okay, cut the nonsense. >> No, we're not with any guys. >> You are? >> No, I'm not. Okay, >> I need your IDs. >> I don't think I got my ID on. Oh, that's gas. >> Listen, listen. >> We're not with any >> I'm not Do you I'm not >> Officer, we're not with any. >> Okay, take your bag off, please. Both of you, put your bag on the hood of the car. >> I can do that. >> Thank you. Nothing in the in the bags. They said you guys stole stuff. >> Oh, wow. >> Despite their bold denials, the contents of their bags paint a very different picture than their words. the people in that stoming. I did I witnessed that. So >> Oh, you it >> Yeah. Well, I witnessed them chasing somebody. >> So when they come >> So I guess everybody that's black and African America, everybody got something. >> No. What? No, it has nothing to do with that. It has everything to do with We were called here for people stealing. >> Oh wow. >> You want You ask me a question. I'm trying to answer it. Okay. >> Okay. And then I see you two cut through the bank parking lot. >> No, we're going to go to Walgreens. >> You're going to Walgreens? >> Yeah. >> Walgreens is over there. Good try. We really trying to go. >> Oh my lord. >> Where's your receipt for all this? Uh >> already in there. >> It is not. >> Oh wow. >> WHY DON'T YOU JUST go take us to Jules and let Jules run the camera and he >> We will. We will. Don't you worry. >> You don't have to show me. Uh >> can you give him your name? >> Ah, your classic. >> Yeah, that's my classic. >> What's your name, man? >> My name is Shemica. >> You spell that last name? Shemica. How do you spell that? You know how I spell? >> How do you spell it? >> How do you spell it? >> I don't know. You tell me. >> You want to play games? I'll play games all night long. I ain't about to play with you. >> Well, okay. Well, all right. You anyway, so I'm not worried about >> So, what's your name? >> My My name is Shenmica. >> Thank you, ma'am. Shmique, what's your middle name? >> I don't have a middle name. >> What's your birthday? So, who's telling me the truth? >> What's your name? >> Shenica. >> What's your name? >> Now, we mad about our name. That's my daughter. Shenica and >> the suspects keep testing the officer's patience, but they're quickly reminded that this isn't a game and the officers aren't here to entertain nonsense. >> I want to try this one more one more time. Okay. Before I start looking up for a felony, where's your real name and date of birth? >> My real name. >> So when I run your fingerprints, when they come back to >> Okay. And where's your license out of? I never had a license. My state ID My state ID is out of Chicago. >> Chicago? >> Yeah. >> You know what? I don't appreciate the attitude from either one of you. >> Yeah, I ain't I barely said anything. >> You just had a smart comment for no reason. You looking because >> Yeah, I'm looking because I'm trying to confirm who you are because there's someone in here when I run your criminal history that has about 37 aliases. I'm talking about all the going up because you guys decide you want to steal and go ahead and play that for I don't care. Do I make myself perfectly clear? The final warning falls on deaf ears and the officers decide that enough is enough. It's time the suspects face the consequences. >> I don't believe who you are. You can't prove it. Grown as adults walk around. No IDs. All this keep your city. Don't come out here. >> I gave you my name. >> I gave you my name and my birthday. >> Okay. You can be whatever you want to be. >> Hey, she got an ID on her cuz that name the name she gave me ain't her. >> Oh, would you look at that? You do have your ID on you. Number two, her excuse was so wild even the police couldn't hide their reactions. On August 23rd, 2025, officers were dispatched to a Dollar General after a woman reportedly shoplifted and fled the scene. Here's what unfolded when they finally caught up with her. >> Here, come here. >> Can you send us that on Britain? We're going to have that girl. She's walking home with us. >> I have a receipt, sir. >> Come out here so we can have a receipt. >> Okay. Come out here. >> I'm not stuck in that. They humiliated me. You're going to get off the bus willingly. I'm going to put you in handcuffs. And then I'm going to force you off the bus. >> Why do I have to get off the bus? They keep doing this. I'm touring and yelling, but every time I go to sleep, it's like they want me to stay up on and every the people in that building, I go to sleep. >> What building? >> The number building. They called the police on me earlier and I don't got nowhere. >> She agrees to step off the bus, but it doesn't take long for officers to pick up on a red flag. The suspect, however, claims they're only seeing part of the story. >> We're not here with you. Okay. >> They keep trying to MAKE ME GO TO JAIL. I'M TIRED. I'M TIRED OF going to jail. And they keep spending my social security income. >> Okay. All right. That we just we're just trying. >> I went to the store. I paid for my food. I got my ID, my federal ID to get on the aircraft. It's like y say face your fears. Go back to your baby dad that punched your eye. >> Y'all just LET A MILITARY SERVANT PUNCH ME ON THE chapel stairs. I don't want to keep talking to them. Every time I put a wig on, they do this. >> So, are you going to get in our car or not? >> You told me to get off the bus when I was going to my house. >> Yes. But now we have to go to the Dollar General and investigate. >> You know what I'm going to do? cuz they don't want me to eat and get food. Take it to him and tell him for me as a woman and like if I was your mom, she's not sucking your for groceries anymore. >> Given the suspect's hysterical and erratic behavior, the officers make the safest call they can. But the suspect doesn't take it well. >> Just put your >> Okay. No, I'm not. What did I say wrong? I was being truthful. What did I say? I'll get in the car. I'll do whatever you say again. >> No. Please tell me. Look. I'm telling you, I have a dream like Martin Luther King. Y'all don't have no police department no more for this. After dealing with the unruly suspect, the officers now turned to the store security staff to hear their side of the story. >> Walked in and she said, "Hey, what's up, King and me?" And then to walk into our back room, you know. >> Did she take anything? >> She took a bag full of cereal and stuff. >> Okay. >> But walked when she walked in our back room, I didn't even know she walked in our back room until my boss literally looked and said she walked into the back room. >> Okay. Do you want charges? >> Yes. >> Okay. Um, are you able to like total up how much you took? >> Um, my boss can. >> Well, we we didn't bring product with us. >> Oh, the bag still. >> Yeah. And they're ripped, so I'm not going to >> DJ, I need you. >> Okay. >> So, what what got me is when she walked in and right before she walked out, all she said is, "I want to suck still." And then she walked right out. >> Fantastic. I think that's what everyone says. >> Okay. And then, do you guys have video of it? Okay. >> Yes. But uh my b my boss told me that she won't be able to be back in until Monday and then she said that she's got to be the one to pull up that video. >> Oh, you guys can't see the videos? >> Nope. >> They didn't arrest me. Long as I'm drinking and sitting down, but the moment I wanted to eat and fill myself and nourish myself and take care of myself, now I'm tied down with all this. >> We happened to meet in that aisle and then we both thought it was strange actually. It's like, well, wait. It's like this lady's got a bag here actually in the aisle and then he even mentioned to me he's like yeah you find that odd too. I'm like yeah actually >> she already had the bag just >> Yeah because yeah cuz like I said I saw I first noticed though back there in the freezer aisle and like yeah she had a bag cuz she had some stuff and then she was putting it in a bag and I'm like that doesn't look right though actually. It's like you know something told me it's like yeah this ain't right. Having gotten the full story from staff, officers connect with a manager to finalize whether charges will be pursued. >> Yeah, because that Yeah, cuz she did mention too. It's like, I need my bread, you I need my bread actually because yeah, she was back at in the back aisle where the freezer's all, you know, the coolers, like the back aisle where the freezer's all because I was walking down the middle aisle and then I look left and then she was like this, you know, getting to putting a bunch of things in the bag like that. And then I told him to my coworker and I'm like, "Well, isn't like" and he's like, "Yeah, you find that out too, right?"
