You can look. >> I told you I am going to look. >> Yeah. Yeah. I'm sorry. >> The second time around. >> I know. But that's all that's all my grocery bags. I'm telling you stuff. >> Understand? >> That's all my grocery bags. That's it. >> That's all my grocery bags. And that's just crap to donate. That's it. You can look in there. >> You can open that. That's all stuff to donate. >> No problem. It's all old stuff. I like Yeah. >> I'm telling you, sir. It's all donations. I'm telling you, it's all It's all old stuff. Like, all donations that I want to get rid of. Okay, they're all the suspect claims that everything in her trunk is for donations, but given her recent behavior, the officers ers find [music] that very hard to believe. >> All right. Um, what's in there? Oh, Christmas cards and Christmas. >> It's all stuff. >> No, no, it's all over. >> This is from like 20 years ago. It's all stuff from that doesn't even exist anymore. >> Yeah, it is. I'm telling you. It's there's all old Christmas ornaments and stuff that I'm donating. Something in there. That's also donation, sir. All right. Some of this stuff, Jerry, you take this back to the jury. Take a picture of it. Give him the property back. Um, seriously. >> I've never been brought. >> Um, here first. So, we don't run that back. Just take picture of it back. Can I cook down, please? >> Thank you. Thank you. >> After a string of lies and a reluctant confession, the officers decide they've seen enough. It's time to take the suspect in. >> All right, but before you do, I want to I want to make sure that your cuffs Wait, wait, hold up. >> Yeah. No, hold up. I want to make sure your cuffs don't tighten up on you. All right. I'm going to go double check to make sure. so that we can use this from today. It's from today. It's all from today. I'm just going to say that. >> Yeah. >> I'm not just going to say that either is or it isn't. >> It is cuz I don't remember. I'm telling you. >> You don't remember when it's >> I didn't steal that one of >> It's from today, sir. Okay. I'm just going to say it's all from today. After the investigation, the suspect was charged with felony retail theft. Number three, dine and dash goes wrong fast when police get involved. On August 7th, 2024, officers were called to a Red Lobster after staff reported a dine and dash involving multiple customers. Here's what happened when police caught up with the suspects. What's up? They didn't pay. All right, then. >> They're going back in now to pay though the rest out of the restaurant playing themselves. I went right after them. Like, there's no need for that. >> I was coming over here and I saw all them running and then she kind of flagged us down. >> All right. So, you want to do is pay. >> Yeah. >> All right, let's go. It's all right. That's all right. It's just a misunderstanding. >> I have a camera on. >> Don't worry. >> I have a camera on. I just I'm trying to calm it down like you know how your teacher does. >> Yeah. >> I have a camera on. So technically she's a minor. I have to release her to an adult, her mother, her guardian. Call her, please. >> You know her car. Obviously, you know where she just take it. >> I think we talk more. So, I don't drive. So because >> the staff confirmed that the suspect didn't act alone, but at this point her companions are already gone, prompting officers to track them down. >> He's walking to the He wants to walk to the car. Where are you? >> I I need She needs to identify herself. >> I think this is you right here. No, I don't even know. >> Okay. >> Thank you. >> Can you come here? >> I need your ID, ma'am. >> Your ID. Here you go. My license. >> Listen, I'm letting you know this is this is not You think it's nothing, but if just say we stopped you and you pulled away, we would be charging you with endangering the welfare of a child. >> We were not doing that though. >> Okay. But if you don't pay for something, that's a crime. You do it with kids, it's it's endangering the welfare of child. Okay. We don't have to do this. I just got to get your information. Don't go back there tomorrow. >> Absolutely. >> Can I? >> Sure. Yeah. >> I mean, you guys have my my I'm not We're not even now. Here's what happened when the police arrived. I don't know if we want to go around a different way or not, but so we got her just sitting in there. >> Okay, >> just a quick rundown. So, she gave us a credit. She had trouble filling out her information. Signed on the back. Her name is Emily. She just has like a temp license. Um, she said she wanted a $450 payment. Wasn't sure if she'd get approved. Showed her a $1,200 payment. She signed right away. We looked up the address. Doesn't line up. She says she's in Cincinnati. Works at Cleveland Clinic. Nothing. She got dropped off. She said ran I mean didn't call in about the car and it's a Range Rover. So, >> you guys have her license? >> I have the temp license in there. You want to go where by her or do you want to go around? >> I just want to see the license. Maybe I can run it and see. >> It's where the and the temp license says she got it at a uh the Elllet at like up here. This doesn't sense. We pulled her credit. Hi. >> Sushi sign, >> obviously that doesn't really match that. >> With the IDs in hand and suspicions confirmed, the officers approach the suspect and give her an opportunity to tell the truth. And then she signed it again here with a second. >> Then we asked her just simple questions about her credit report, like a previous auto loan. She didn't she didn't know if she had one or not. This is a $54,000 loan she had before. And she's from there. She says she works at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland. It's a 216. And look where she got this at. Right over in Elllet. >> Where's Mason? That's Cincinnati. >> Yeah, downtown Cincinnati. >> Where's she saying she's living now? She says she's lived here for 3 years and 3 months, >> but you can see here she almost screwed up that >> was she looking at her license when she's filling this out and all. >> So my sales guy, my sales guy said that he has making a copy of this. So he had had it with her and she was struggling to fill this part out without the info. there. >> Hello. >> Can you guess why I'm here today? >> Um, why >> can you guess? We have no idea. Okay. Lala. >> It doesn't take long for her to slip up, and that one mistake is enough for officers to place her under arrest. >> Stand up, put your hands behind your back. >> So, you on that piece of paper that you made up? Mhm. >> You know how it says Read that. Did you read it about forgery part? >> Yes. >> Okay. The case takes a turn when the suspect, now in handcuffs, shares information that points to a much larger scheme. >> Why you out here without fake license? >> It wasn't even my idea, bro. Somebody did something dumb. >> So, whose idea was it? What were they trying to do? >> I guess they were trying to put a card, get a car down, and just keep it or whatever. But I told them I don't think that's a good idea because >> here 14, put it back. You know what I'm saying? This is me taking a >> on top of that. This is my ID. You know what I'm saying? >> It's my stuff. >> On top of I'm still young. >> So when I had came in here, they had said >> So you were you were told what >> be an 18-year-old. >> They they told me to come. They had drove me all the way down here. Gave me that. Yes. Gave me that and told me just go in there and say that you want a car down for 100. I mean for zero dollars. >> Okay. Why did you think that that was a good idea? Or even going to work? >> Exactly. Well, I I have a job, but I have I I raised my grandma. Like I literally take care of her. This is irritating. >> So, you knew that you're coming in here with a fake ID to try to buy a car. >> Not buy it. >> Not buy it. Then what? I wasn't going to buy you. >> It was zero down. I was going to try to see if I was going to get approved for it. So, >> okay. You're going to try to get approved for it. And if you got approved, then what? >> Um, nothing. >> You're going to walk out the door? >> I was just >> You going to try to get the car? >> No. I couldn't I I can't drive the car. I ain't driving it. But I was going to see if I could get approved. Then I was going to come back, you know, next day or something. Well, whatever they wanted to do, but I I was just trying to see if I could get approved for a car. >> Okay. >> The suspect insists she wasn't the mastermind, claiming someone else put the scheme in motion. She gives officers more to work with as she describes the person involved. >> You're 18 years old? >> Yes. >> Have you tried this before? >> Nope. >> Nope. It's my first ever time experience ever doing something like this. >> You've been arrested before? >> Nope. >> Even as a kid? I mean that's a sponge or seal I should say. No, >> this is very nerve-wracking for me. So no pants going too. >> No, I just got these the other day from my auntie. I just kept the tag on there just to show people my money. Something that I don't know why we do that, but that's what we do. We'll keep the tags on our stuff just to show people how much it cost. I should I should have read that. You right. >> Tells you it's illegal to have this right on it. >> I didn't even read it. >> This part you probably didn't read. >> My own license. >> This part you didn't read, but I'm sure you probably studied this part real good to try to >> I should have read it. >> But I have my own license. That's That's what's wild to me. Like I should have read that. >> Who made that? >> Um I know the person who had had it made. I I know who that is and I know their Instagram and yes I will be I don't care >> who made it. >> Um his name is Instagram. >> You know his real name at all? >> Um no. >> No. You know I know what he look like. Nope. >> I know his number. >> What's his number? >> It's in my phone. All right. >> But I can show you the >> Why'd you guys decide to come down on a try? >> Um, this is where they took me. They shouldn't be that far. Not too far from here because they the ones who dropped me off and was waiting. So, >> as she's driven away, the suspect shares how much she regrets what happened. But the officers know that what's done is done. >> Hey, guy that dropped you off. >> He dropped you off. >> Yes. Um, did they were you supposed to call them to come pick you up? >> Well, they was when I came out, they supposed to be waiting right there where they dropped me off at, but I they supposed to >> they probably saw me and took off, I bet you. >> Yeah, that's what I'm guessing.
