On June 14th, 2024, officers were called to a local McDonald's following reports of an argument that escalated dramatically after an employee allegedly fired a weapon. Here's how the situation unfolds. And she shot her TWO SHOTS. TWO SHOTS. >> NO, LET ME TELL YOU She threw DRINKS AT MY CAR. >> DRINKS AT THE CAR BECAUSE WE TOLD HER TO COME OUTSIDE. She shot two shots? Yes, she shot at us. SHE SHOT DIRECTLY AT US. ALL RIGHT. LITERALLY over food. Being that we all threw our fries at her. All of us. All of us. Okay. What they say? Say they fired two shots at them. They fired shots Brooke, the black Monterey was it? You can see her on What happened with them? You can come out and talk to me. Were you involved in this? Yes. At first All right. Let me Let me Let me ask you something first and foremost. Do you have a firearm? Yes, I do. Where is it at? It's in my bag. Okay. Did you shoot the firearm? Yes, I did cuz it was five of them and one of me. It's They started getting out their car. I just shot in the air. Like I didn't shoot at them. Did I Did I shoot at I was sitting right standing right here. They was all the way over there. They started getting out of the car. I was like, "I got to call Mr. London." All right, I'm going to hold on to this, okay? So, you can stay with her. Stay with her. After getting an initial account from the customers, the officers [music] give the manager an opportunity to speak and explain her side of the story. Um They they started talking. I was like, um I guess they order got mixed up. They They thought they ordered something, but they didn't order the What was in the drive-thru? Drive-thru. In the drive-thru. I'm a manager here. At the end of the day, it's my job to get these orders out. So, I was like, "Okay." Cuz they already in the drive-thru for 15 minutes. So, I'm like, "Okay, I could give you one sandwich, but you I have you have to pay for the other one." Okay. And he was She was like, "Oh, I want another McDouble." So, I was like, "Okay, you got to pay for that one, too." And then I told them they told Oh, "I'm not going to pay for nothing." And then they She started yapping at the mouth. So, I was like, I don't I just closed it and I said I said I don't get paid enough for this. I don't know if they heard me, but that's when they started getting rowdy, like And then I guess I had Rachel, my coworker right here. I was like, "Can you please get rid of that food?" Like I was trying to get away from the situation. >> With the gun, was it still on you or did you have to get it from your bag? No, and my bag was right next to me. Your bag was next [music] to you? Yes. Okay. So I'm sorry. I know I shouldn't be. Where did you shoot from? Just so I can I was I was standing right here in the front. >> In the front? >> Yeah, I was standing right here. All right, thank you. So And then she pulled off. They still talking. So, I'm like, "Okay, what's the problem? Like what's the problem? Y'all still Y'all I gave y'all y'all sandwich." That's it. Okay. So, she was like, "No, no, no." And then she threw a drink on me. Okay. They pulled around. I came I came out. Like And then they pulled up here. There was three of them got out the car. And you were outside by that time? >> Yeah, cuz I was trying to see if they was leaving. Okay. So She came back. They left and they They back. Okay. So, when I When they came back, they all three of them had got out of the car cuz they had left they pulled like Rodney I guess he needs apartment right here then they came back. Three of them got Three of them got out the car. I said, "Oh, no, I'm not going to I'm not I don't No, we're not doing that." Yeah. So, I did have my gun and my gun is always in my bag. Because the area that is in the area. So, that that's what how it happened like With the manager adding more context, the officer follows up with questions about the customer's [music] concerning behavior. Now, so at any time you said there was like three of them. I think there was like three of them. >> Yeah, it was three girls out of the car. One had a pink bandana. How close were they to you? Like were they at your Were they just in their car talking or were No, they started getting out the car. They They was out the car standing like how you standing. They was walking towards this McDonald's. They was walking towards you. In the best of your ability, we're not going to walk on but you're fine. So, just just stand right here. You're fine. I walked right here by my car and they was right there. >> little the post thing right there? Okay. So, were you behind it or in front of it? Kind of where [snorts] you were in general. Behind this post right here. I was behind it a little bit. >> Okay. So, where were they standing? >> Right here where this post is but they walked up here like in this area where the welcome sign is. >> right there. And that's kind of where they were. Yeah, that's where they started walking and they was parked right there where that police y'all truck at. Okay. Now, how many rounds did you shoot? >> shot two. Like warning shots. Warning shots. Can you kind of demonstrate um how you did it? Was it just kind of just up in the air Was it just like It was really like this in the bushes like type What do you mean in the Like over here in this area. All right. Who Who was on the vehicle? All of them. Okay. Can I Who's the driver? I'm the driver. Who's the driver? It's my car. It's my car. All right. Can I get your ID, ma'am? With a manager's account adding more to consider, the officers turn back to the customers and give them a chance [music] to explain their side. All right. So, whenever I ask you what happened, can you just try to calmly explain to me what happened, okay? We literally just came up here for some food, honestly. Some food. I can't She got aggravated. I guess she got aggravated about the order. Okay. Cuz it was two orders. She got aggravated about two orders. And you know, once you get aggravated with two orders >> You were in the drive-thru when this happened? >> literally in the drive-thru. Okay. She got upset. >> Is this your current address? Yes. >> Okay. She got upset about some food or whatever, and she got the order wrong. They wouldn't tell her that she had the order wrong. She got upset. She was like, "Oh, this job don't pay me too much for all of this." and flying out the window or whatever the case may be. So, then they I like they told her, they was like, "Well, if you don't like your Like you don't like your job, then don't be there." They told her that? Yeah, they told her. And while you're driving in the drive-thru, right? >> Yeah, we were literally parked cuz we waiting on our food. And they told her, "If you don't like your job, then don't be there." She got She got really upset with that, came back, gave the food through the phone through the food or whatever out the window to us, took a drink, and threw it inside the car. I So, so, she said your friends told her if you don't like your job, don't be here, don't work here. Yeah. Okay. And then, what happened after that? She brought the food, and then she took the drink and threw it inside the car. So, then they took They drank and threw it back Got out the car and threw it right back She got the food and threw the food at your car? No, they threw the drink cuz she threw a drink. So, then they threw their drink. >> No, okay, I know I understand. What I'm asking is the the worker >> got Yeah. The worker threw the the food >> Yeah. Okay. I caught like and threw it at the car like two or three times. She didn't give it to us. She threw it at us. Oh, yeah, she threw that And then that's when your friends threw it at you? Yeah, they got out the car and they threw that [ __ ] back. Then I seen where she threw it right back at my car. So, then I got out the car and threw my drink up on her. I opened the door and threw my drink. As the customer shares their side, the narrative is now flipped. Now the responsibility for her decision to escalate the situation lies with the manager. She decided to bring her AT looking outside and want to get her gun and get on with the shooting and shot at my car. Okay. So, I don't know Come over here, [ __ ] This is a lot of It's hard to understand. I got to get this straight for a nice peaceful way, okay? So, she she was bringing the food to your car. She threw it at your car. Then your friends got back out the car threw it back at her and she threw the drink >> Yeah, they threw the drink. Yeah, It was like a fighting match with Yeah, we both basically. Cuz she got her wrong. It wasn't that deep for her to pull out no more guns and shoot no car. Especially not my car and I just told her This is not their car. This is my car. >> After she threw the food back the second time, what did That's when you hopped out? >> Yeah, I hopped out and I opened the window and I threw my drink on her. Cuz don't throw no drink on my car. Take them up Take that out in the streets. So, then we got right here. Suzanne came outside with her little peon friend or she went to her car. >> So, when you got out and threw the drink on her, that's when she went to go grab her gun? >> I guess so. Cuz we pulled off going head home. So, you pulled off after that? >> off wanting to go ahead home. Suzanne decided to go get her gun and come outside and shoot at my car. Fired two shots. So, after you pulled off, that's when she came out the the front right here? >> Yeah, came out the went to talking shot her gun. I had to stop. Got out of car and I was ready to fight. While confirming the customer's account, the officers uncover a crucial detail that could change everything. And I'm about to call my daddy cuz the insurance in the car is in my daddy's name. I'm not playing like that. Is she going to be on the camera though? Okay. It should be on the camera. They they need to So so you guys pulled off where about where were you at when when she Well, we literally we was literally right here. Right here. Literally they she came outside. shoot the car. Okay. Oh, because she can't control her anger. Did Did you hear the bullets hit the car? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I literally seen two of them in car, but I'm thinking she's shooting in the air. This is at my car like on the man or whatever the case may be. Is there any bullet holes? Got two spots. As more evidence comes together, the officers return to the restaurant to confront the manager once again. So I want you to start from whenever they came in and stepped to the window and just explain to me from there and then to whenever Okay, so she took their order. They I guess they had two separate orders. So when they got to my window, I'm up here by myself. I'm making drinks. I'm doing this and that. I'm bagging their orders. Okay. Okay, so there's a I'm sorry, I didn't mean to cut you off. The lobby, is it Was it closed when you guys were doing the drive-thru or >> Yeah, drive-thru only. Like after 9:00 p.m. Yeah, yeah. Now when lobby's closed, does that mean the doors are locked? >> Yes. Got you. Okay. So when Uh they came to my window. She She was up here cuz she was trying to help me clear it out. So I gave them their food. First I went to the kitchen. I went to go help him in the kitchen. I went to the kitchen. I went to go tell out some orders. She came up here to help me up here. I gave them their food, gave them their drinks. I closed the window. She She I guess they were still sitting there when I went back to make a drink or back I don't think I was making a drink or back in the drive-thru. I don't know. >> Yeah, that's okay. So, she they were still at the window and she went to the window, I guess, and they were like, "Their fries are cold." >> Okay. So, she took the fries back and she gave them some fresh I gave I think you gave her gave them some fresh fries. So, boom. She's like, "Okay, I'm missing a sandwich." I was like, "Okay, what sandwich are you missing?" And she was like, "No, she said No, she said, "Oh, they're missing an order." I said, "What order are they missing?" Cuz I gave them two bags. They had two separate orders. I gave them two bags. Everything was in the bag. She was like, "Oh, they said they're missing an order." I was like, "Okay." Boom. So, I go to the window as a manager. I go to the window. I said, "Okay, so what sandwich are you missing?" Cuz I know what I put in the bag. And she was like, "Oh, I'm missing a McDouble." And I said, "Okay, what was the McDouble?" Cuz I was going to give it to them. I was going to give it to them. And she was like, "Oh, no, ain't no pickle." I said, "Oh, I called back and said, 'Hey Darius, can you make a McDouble with no ain't no pickle?'" Given a second chance, the manager revisits her account and explains how the situation [music] escalated. The girl in the back, she she was like, "Oh, and I want a McDouble with cheese." I said, "Well, you'll have to pay for that one." And she was like, "Oh, I'm not paying for nothing." She was like, "I'm not paying for nothing that I didn't that I paid for." So, um that's when I was like, "Okay, I can give you one sandwich." But I had to charge for this. And she was like, "Okay." Boom. So, I guess he was like, the dude in the back he started getting loud. He was like, "Oh, oh, he was like, all this over a sandwich, all this over a sandwich." I'm like, "Well, I'm like it's That's our stuff, all this like And he was like, "Oh, y'all doing the most." And he started talking like, "Oh, you da da da started selling out." And da da da. So, I'm like, "Okay." Boom. I closed the window. I said, "Rachel, can you deal with them?" Cuz she's a manager, too. She's a manager in training. I was like, you deal with them because I don't get paid enough." I guess they heard me say that which I didn't know they heard me say that because I was closing the window. Got you. Okay. So, that's when they started getting rowdy, rowdy, rowdy. I'm like, "Okay, what you doing with that?" Like, so I stepped away from the window. And she was like, "I don't want to deal with them." So, I go back to the window. I said, "Okay, I can give you I I'm still explaining. I can give you one sandwich but I can't give you the other one." Okay. And I she was like, "Oh, you act like you aggravated." I was like, "No, it's just y'all been I drove before while I have other customers behind y'all." >> She was like, "Oh, well, this shows you how da da da." Okay, cool. They drove up to the third window. The girl I think she had a pink third window is is kind of a little bit Yeah, yeah, yeah. Got you. Okay. So, they drove up to the third window. The girl with pink bunny and orange shorts. I think that's what she had on. Okay. And when I I know she had a pink bunny on. Okay. She got out the window. When she got out the car, she threw a slushy through the window cuz my window was open. Okay. Cuz you know, I was going to hand out the Door Dash order. Okay. She got out the car, threw the the slushy on me and got all the orders wet. So, I'm like, "Okay, cool." I calmed down. I said, "Where my purse at?" Cuz I already knew they was cuz they came around. They parked right there. That's That's where they started getting out the car. The manager provides further details showing that she wasn't the only one targeted by [music] the customers. Can you show me where >> They was right there where the truck at. Where the I know. Just I'm just Right here where the You see where he's leaving? That truck leaving right there? Okay. And then that's where they started getting where they're standing now. Okay. So, I go I keep around. They started arguing with the boy in the kitchen. So, from there from Yeah, from from there. They were standing right there. So, they started arguing with him. And he was like, "Oh, I ain't worried cuz I got people like I got family." >> Do you remember what they were saying? No, I I didn't I didn't even hear them cuz I wasn't by this door. >> Got you. Okay. So, they left, then they came back. Okay. I don't know what they did within that time frame. How long did they leave for? Like 2 seconds. They I think they went to these apartments, came right back. Yeah, cuz they left twice and they came back. Okay. So, I go to the window, I'm like, "What's going on?" Like, "Cuz we got orders to get out." He over here arguing with them at the window. I'm like, "Come on, we got orders to get out." That's when they started getting rowdy again with me. So, I said, "Okay, cool." They started getting out of the car again. So, I stood right there, I let two warning shots. Just to let them know, like And and did you see if they were leaving whenever you they whenever you shot the warning shots? Like, if you don't mind, just explain to me. >> No, they were still parked. They were still parked in at that spot where you told me that they were parked at. >> in that that area. I don't know where is that, but they was parked in that area. >> And then from where you were standing >> After I let the warning shots off, that's when they left. That's when they left. Yeah, okay. And it was just two, correct? Yeah, and then they said they came back, they sat right there, and I guess they was waiting for y'all. Okay. Was there um three, I think. It was two or three. I don't know who got out. It was But then the dude got out of the car, too. She said, "I don't I don't I didn't see cuz I was at the back of the door at first." So, I don't know who got out of the car, but I seen it was the girl with the orange >> in the back seat, she got out first. And then the girl in the driver's seat, she got out. And then the dude that that was behind the driver's seat, he got out. Yeah, so she was three of them. So, I was right. To clarify things further, the officer asks her when she made the decision to confront the customers. Can you tell me when that happened? Oh, baby, just a little bit more detail, maybe specific on where you were standing. Would it be like near the windows of the business or like >> Yeah, it was it was near these windows right here. >> There's like a um kind of like a handicap sign there. Was it like >> was like close to that sign. So, okay, cuz there's a sign, bushes, and then the like the red What you call that? Like curb that I guess you could say the red curb. >> Yeah. Um would it I was standing I think this is where I was standing a little like like right there but I don't remember I was standing by my car cuz I was going to leave but I seen that I seen that they was they didn't leave that's when they got out the car I was going to get in my car and leave my car is parked right here so I was going to get in my car and leave they first and then let me go back let me go back after she threw the drink I closed the window they was shaking the window they was beating on the window they was like oh you need to come outside you need to come outside I didn't go outside cuz I already know what y'all was trying to do like so they stopped right there I'm watching to see what like what they going to do like what y'all going to leave they stopped right there where that police car then they went over there went to that spot we talked about so whenever they were pulling off and you said the other workers saw them stopping right here how come you came out of the store I was pulling him back in cuz that's when they was arguing yeah I yeah I said come on Darius let's let's go like cuz he he was real friendly so then what happened after you pulled him back in he came back out he still he still was arguing that's when they pulled over there I guess cuz I had stepped back in like I don't know what happened between from the time they was right here and right here but I know he was still both of them her and him was still at that window with more clarity on the situation the officers [music] pose a question that challenges the managers version of events and the doors were locked correct yeah how come you didn't stay in I had pulled I stopped and pulled him in that's how that's when they started getting out the car right there and why didn't you go back in when you watched them go back in because they started approaching cuz I was going to get ready to go I got my car is right here I was going to get ready to go I didn't realize I didn't have my key that's what made me even go back outside they came back so you pulled your friend in before other car went in. >> but he did not come in. Okay. Yeah, he did not come in. >> And then that's when they started approaching the door again. >> when they they parked right there and then they started getting out the car. My car is right here. And you didn't want to go back inside. No, cuz I was going to go home. Okay. Walk me through how you came to have the gun in your hand. Cuz it's I keep my gun literally right here. My bag is in my bag all the time. >> Okay, so >> I grab my bag cuz I'm going to go. Okay. So, I'm like, "Derrick, come on. Get back in here." Like I was saying I was I was going to stay, but I was like, "No, I'm not going to stay cuz it was already a heated situation." >> Yeah. Yeah. So, I was going to He's he's still arguing with them. I'm going to go cuz I don't I came right here. I realized I didn't have my keys yet when they got out the car. They were standing right here, him and Breonna. So, when you realized you didn't have your key, you went back inside and came back out. >> Yes. And you that's I got my key. Yeah, I had got my key. They were still out there. >> And you got your key, did you grab your gun while you got your key, too? I already had my gun cuz it was in my bag. My key wasn't in my bag. >> asking is how come you didn't stay inside if you saw them coming? Because I was going to go home. But you Where was your key at? It was sitting right there by like where we keep our pies our apple pies and stuff. Do you normally keep it there or in your bag? No, I I guess I took it out when I had to take my charger out cuz uh Breonna had asked me to get my charger and it was hanging up on my charger. Yeah, so I just set it down cuz my bag was like it was like As the officers continue probing, the manager's position becomes harder to defend. And so then after that you guys walked out this way. Yes, walked out this way. And then what did you do? They were still right there. That's when she was like, "Oh, you need to put the gun down. They can't fight me." It was the girl with the pink one like I got on. I think that's what she got on. I'm just I'm trying to get at like why you came back out if you knew there was a disturbance out here. >> Cuz I was going to go home. I already told my boyfriend that I'm going to come home. Why didn't you stay inside until they left? Cuz they wasn't leaving. They was already here in the driveway 30 minutes. They was right there for another 10 minutes. Right there for another 20. They That was no signs of leaving. Did you call us to get them out of here? No. No. Nobody called the police. Okay. So, then they approached you, which made you shoot? Yeah, they was standing right here like They had eyes on my car. They were right here. I'm trying to get in my car right here. They were just standing? No. They was walking like towards They got that far though. Like Okay. Like where my car is right here? >> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. And my car is right here. So, I'm standing like in this area. Okay. All right. And then walk me through like your actions right there. I just let the shots go off. That's it. Okay. And then what did they do after that? That's when they left. Okay. They came They went to these apartments and then they came back. And then what you do after that? I went back inside. Okay. That's when I went back inside. I thought I'd let the shots go off. Cuz I was just going to help her clean her screen cuz she was like, "You need to help me clean her screen out." And I was like, "Okay. Yeah. I'll help you clean her screen out." I didn't even know they called the police cuz I was going to help her clean her screens out cuz her screens was full. And I was going to go home. Okay. So, you were about to go home and then after you shot, you decided to stay in again? Yeah, because that's when they left. Oh. Okay. Yeah. That's That's That's what made them leave. That's why I just sent the warning shots. They left after I shot the two shots. I didn't know they was coming back though. So, you wanted to go home because you wanted to avoid them or you were just telling your boyfriend that you were coming home? >> I was just going to come home because I was just I had enough. Like I was Of them? You went back inside. Of the whole thing. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. The officers have heard enough and at this point it's time to place someone in handcuffs. All right. Put your hands behind your back. Just like that. Like you're praying. So right now you're going to get read your rights to you. Can I ask a question? Which one did you go for? To um she discharged her firearm at the I guess at the individuals there as they were leaving. Um she did admit to it. So what she being charged with? So it's aggravated assault with a gun. So Aggravated assault with a deadly weapon? Yep. So She going to fight it? She going to get off on it because they came back through the drive-thru on foot and threw the drink at her face. >> So I just kind of want you guys to maybe just to understand is She's going to be the only one going to jail. Correct. And you're absolutely right because if they were the first person to basically antagonize the entire thing, but my thing is obviously shooting a firearm is not okay. That's not enough that she shot at She should have just shot at So um the one of the bullets did strike the vehicle and obviously No. They ain't taking nobody to jail but Red. >> So at this moment that's what we got so far. Um obviously we are still going to continue to do our investigation. We are going to obtain all of the evidence. Um obviously we have all of their information. So if that's the case then we will put charges on them too. And y'all said y'all have the shells. Take care of them. She has Yeah. Y'all going to submit it properly then? >> Yeah, we're good. Y'all doing it properly? Yep. What do you got? You have the casings? Yes. What do you got? Right here. Okay. We'll submit those. Do you want your family members to have your cat too? Or do you want to keep >> It don't matter. I'll keep it. They going to take it off as soon as we get down there. They taking it. Okay. All right, ma'am. Just have a seat. The manager learned the hard way that there are better ways to handle conflict as her actions led to her arrest for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. McDonald's disturbance ends in arrest. On February 6th, 2025, officers were called to a local McDonald's [music] after reports of a man causing a disturbance among customers. Here's what happened when officers [music] arrived. Hey, how are you? I'm good. How are you? Have a seat in a while, man. Okay, I'm good. Good. Good. Take it. I'm good. No, I'm good. Okay, man. Yeah. Yeah. Hey, what up? All right. People are out. Hey, Ed. Ed. Okay. Let's go outside. What did I do? Let's go outside. Yeah, sure. Damn, man. How old are you? I'm 49. I'll see you later. All right, guys. I don't know what I did, man. How old are you? Okay, man. What do you want to Can I grab my gear and leave? Where's your stuff? Over there, where it was, dude. Yeah, do you want to go to the bathroom? I'll go with you. I was for that. I did a hotter, man. I got you. Okay, Ed. So >> hurt real bad, man. It's fine not to be trespassing. Okay. Don't be here. I don't want to I did wrong, man. Let's get his info, run him, and then we'll see if they want him arrested Pardon me? Are you going to arrest me? Well, we got to find out. We got to find some stuff out first, Ed. Well Okay, Ed. I'm trying to get it together, you know? I don't want to be a beast of burden, you know? Oh. You know, I just wanted some coffee. Edmund, what Do you have a middle name? No. No. What's your date of birth? I got what? Mickey Mouse was born on the same day. >> Same birthday. Same birthday, same year. I've heard that story three or four times now. I remember. I'm an old man. Okay, Henry is from 10-4. Copy one by name and DOB. I don't mean no harm, girl. No. I just, you know, I was hurting real [music] bad. I'm an old man. On January 28th, 2025, officers were dispatched near a McDonald's to locate a man with an active warrant. Here's how officers handled the situation. 1217 we have no tail lights. It's a failure to appear warrant. You've got some warrants, buddy. From St. Clair County. Uh my wife's at work. Can you wait? Hold on. Just put your hands behind your back. Warrants? I just went to court. Put your hands behind your back. Like that. Thank you. This is I think it's like a traffic warrant from Caseyville. Yeah, but just a I mean what I what this wasn't even bothering anybody. You come here to get me? Well, you have warrants. Yeah, but I mean I'm I got my wife getting off work here like at 8:00. I just got no way to get here. Well, you're not supposed to drive anyway. No, I mean she just works at McDonald's. I'll walk up and get her. I don't I can't drive my car. It don't run. Oh, okay. But I mean I I mean what am I supposed to do here? I mean I can't call nobody or nothing until she gets off work. Huh? She don't get off work till 8:00. 1217 >> I didn't know I had a warrant. I just went to court last >> the other >> [clears throat] >> Come up over here. I'm going to search you real quick. I got a warrant in St. Clair County. Custody. You can come up As a matter of fact, I just There's no way that I haven't been to Caseyville. It's from like 2013, I think. Well, then can you explain to me how in the hell I got a warrant when I just went to jail, bonded out of Troy twice? Just here within the last couple months. Because St. Clair County doesn't enter their warrants. Hey, I just went to a court. Check that pocket. Go ahead and search it. But I mean my main thing I ain't worried about that, but my main thing is my wife is off work at 8:00. What is And I got nobody I can't call nothing. We'll figure it out. This is I'm [ __ ] man. I can't do anything. I don't know how I'm going to get back to St. Louis. Hey, man. Hey, listen. How did you know I had a warrant? It's something that's something in the system that we have to take care of. Okay, that's what we do. The man insists he's already taken care of his warrants, but the officers know otherwise. It's from 2013 on my whole thing on the business. I just bonded out of Troy just here a couple months ago, twice. Now that we're secure. Uh one of them was a from uh business. It's all the same. >> And one of them was a felony. We'll get We'll find out. We'll figure it out. Yeah. Just work with us, all right? Yeah, there's two different ones. There's two different ones in St. Clair County. What did What did you have in St. Clair? Every time I get on the computer, I get traffic. Yeah, it's traffic. But the problem is is that >> no catch and release. I already know. Huh? It said not no catch and release cuz it's before 2023. No, they want you. Whenever you don't show up to court and the judge doesn't >> even know I had a court date. That's the whole problem. Well, if you have a ticket, you have a court date. That's what I'm saying, 2013. I've been bonded out twice just here recently. And you have a court date. Yeah, and you keep getting You keep getting court dates until the case is over. See I'm homeless. I don't have a permanent address and I don't have a phone. So I mean what am I supposed to do? Call them. Well I mean I have I didn't even know how to I didn't even know I had a warrant. You know you do too man. You go online and literally go into the court system and they'll tell you everything you have and when your next court date is or if it's closed. Honestly I thought I was That's your responsibility man. That's that's your responsibility. I mean I get that but I'm my whole thing is I bonded out twice in Troy just the canine officer. I understand that the whole thing is I bonded out of Troy on warrants. These warrants didn't show up. I went I just went to felony court last how That's because St. Clair County St. Clair County doesn't enter their warrants into our system. Well I mean that's what I'm saying. So how long does warrants show up then? You can >> got pulled over by state cop here not too long ago and didn't get have a warrant. Yeah. Madison and St. Clair are two different counties. Yeah I know that. Yeah. I know that. All their records are different. And my wife can't get a motel room or nothing. I I mean she can't even get a key. Yeah but I mean I can't call her and tell her nothing. She just works right there at McDonald's. Yeah. Don't worry I got you. His frustration shows [music] but he doesn't resist and stays cooperative. >> I would have rather just fell. No I'm not going to let you do that. I shouldn't even come on my side to go buy packs of cigarettes. I didn't even know I had a warrant man. It's a bunch of straight up BS. In the felony court and everything and didn't even have a warrant. Where was he at? He just walked right out. The guy you're looking for? >> Yeah. I was like What was all that? Yeah and then he heard me yell and I was like wow. Yeah. He just walked on out. Who is it? And I was like, that's him. What about the money? I don't know. Nobody in there, so he ain't going to let us search it. Okay. All right, let's go back to the station. >> Yep. We got to get him to Massac County or what we got to do? Uh we got to see if Sangster County is willing to meet. Keep going north on I-57. Four-door Nissan Altima white trailer. Smoke and sparks are coming from the vehicle. All right. All right, we're going to go over this door right here. All right, come in here to the left. Come that way. Take those cuffs off. Ultimately, the man was taken into custody and charged with two active warrants, including a felony. What this fired McDonald's employee did next shocked everyone. On June 9th, 2024, officers responded to a local McDonald's after reports of a robbery where employees were allegedly held at gunpoint. Here's what happened when officers arrived. So, she be she's going to interview you in terms of like how all of this went down and what you saw and everything. Okay. Okay. Um is your manager able to like come in and pull up video or Not currently in town right now. She's trying to call her supervisor to actually contact them. I'm going to actually try to call them right now and see if uh they're available. Okay. Did any of y'all witness this? >> Yeah, I saw it first. Okay. >> What's the time on the clock? The what now? When did this happen? It literally just happened in in like 20 minutes ago. >> Yeah, it was like pretty it was straightforward. She came in with the paper saying >> She didn't say anything. She just came in and said "I'm not ready." And then she said So she had like a like a old school bank like a hold up note. Mhm. Yeah, it says surrender pretty much surrender all your phones and stuff like that. We gave her our phones and stuff and uh that's when we came to the office. She said give her everything out of the registers, whatever was in the safe, which I did. And she gave us our phones back. So she got all the she got the money out of the safe? Yeah, I gave her the money out of the safe as she asked and then we she gave us our phones back after that. And then she left in a vehicle? I don't know what vehicle she left in cuz we were still in the office I understand. at the time, so I seen a vehicle drive by. I don't know if that was her vehicle or just a random customer coming through. Um, if y'all want to do a tape statement with him, I got it with her. Okay. Um, you can follow me in here. Officers take a statement from the employee [music] who first made contact with the suspect and what she shares with them is deeply unsettling. Do you swear or affirm that statement you're about to give will be true and correct to the best of your knowledge? Okay. Uh tell me what happened. Okay, so I seen it first. She walked up. She didn't say anything, but she had the paper. And I was looking. At first I was kind of confused cuz I was like uh She tried to hand it to me, but I didn't really touch it. Mhm. She's like read it. And then I had I read it and then And I gave her my phone. She said give me your phone. And And I got my manager's attention. And I told him "She wants your phone." And suddenly he realized that. So So, who is she? I didn't recognize her, but when he said she He said she used to work here, and the only one I know on first The last person that I know that had who was I know who I I know who she is. I met her. Okay. So, is her face familiar to you? I honestly wasn't paying too much I don't know what was everything after that. Um So, what what What did the note say? Um it was like I know. I forgot. I'm sorry. We I just know it was like I know it said "Give me your phone." I think it had to do with a manager on it. So, what were you thinking when you read that note? Like what Like what What did you think was about to happen? >> [singing] >> Well, cuz at first I didn't see the gun, but she had Like cuz she kind of came a little close Like she was like almost like kind of how me and you were. So, I saw the gun. She had it behind the paper. She had the gun behind the paper? Mhm. Okay. What kind of gun was it? I know it was a gray I think cuz it was gray color everything. Like it was Like it was like it wasn't too big. It was like like a pistol, I think. Or like this size. Okay. It wasn't too big. It wasn't too small, either. The employee reveals that the suspect is a former worker of the store, then goes on to share more details about how the robbery unfolded. So, you were standing in the kitchen, and she came over here. And she came in the kitchen. Okay, she came into the kitchen and showed you the note Mhm. with the gun behind the note. Mhm. Right in the She had a gun. She came a little close. Okay. And she Did she say anything to you? Give me your phone. Okay. Like I think she said the manager. Then I got my manager's attention. Okay. And then what happened after that? Um Then I got the other employee cuz he had headphones on. And then so I got his attention too. But she like give me all the phones. Okay. And then what happened after that? She took the um the store phone. And then And then when she told us to go back to the office. Mhm. And then we had to get the other employee cuz he is >> [singing] >> in the back doing dishes. And she just told him to give her all the money. So he gave her all the money. Then she gave us our phone back and she told us not to leave. the office. Okay. Where Where did the money come from? The the safe. After hearing her account, the officers begin looking into how much was taken during the robbery. Do you know about how much money? No, cuz I I don't have access. Did it look like a little bit, a lot? Cuz there was some that came out of the bank bag. There's some I know there's a hundred They had the um the things that go into the cashiers. So I know there's a hundred fifty dollars in each one. Of course she didn't take any change, so I'm not sure how much it would be without counting the change. She took the change. Okay. So then what happened after she took the money? She gave us our phone back. And then what happened? She said don't leave the office. Okay. And then she said just don't leave the office. Okay. >> And then she left. Okay. Did you see which way she went? No, she ran out of the office. Okay, y'all are good. Um, do you remember anything else that is significant to what happened tonight? Anything that might help us? Did she touch anything? Um, she touched our phones. Mhm. And the the um the store phone. I'm not sure if she put that back. I didn't see her. Do you have anything else you want to add to your statement? No. Within minutes of the incident, officers identify a vehicle and driver matching the suspect, leading to a confrontation. Here's what happens next. Basically, you said the gun is in It's on the passenger side. the passenger side. Towards the middle console and Towards the middle console and the cash is here. Yeah. Um, anything else in the car? Phone. No. So, in the trunk, I got my work knife. Your work knife? Okay. All right. Is what's all in the car is yours? Like, I know you said the cash is yours. Um Well, the gun, that's my brother's, but that he he been having it with me because he went to jail. So, you got to keep it. You're not a convicted felon or anything. So, you're allowed to have it. Well, I don't have my my license for it. You don't need one in the state of Florida. Yeah, so I just keep it with >> as you have it in your home, that's like 7,000 stipulations, but yeah, you don't need one in the state of Florida anymore. Um, so your hand like your fingerprints are going to be on the gun. Like, okay. >> I I got two jobs. This time of night, I'd be just getting home 1:00 in the morning. >> Yeah. So, it's like I'm always driving and I don't know what's going to be next. That's why I have my money under the seat cuz you don't know what's going to be next. Right. >> And I was trying to go help her put that in the bank because like I told you, Wednesday is the 11th and next got to be only 11. Is that where you were heading to right now? To the bank. As the case against her builds, the officers offer her one last opportunity [music] to tell the truth. But that's why we're giving you a chance to let us know. Cuz we could easily just send you down to jail and No, we got We want to hear it from you. Because it's it sounds better in the court system if if you're you know feel remorseful and stuff like that. But if you tell us to pound sand, then it doesn't look so good for you. But we just want to know what's what's going on. Cuz everybody there at the uh McDonald's knew who you were except for one. I know your voice. So, and I'm just keeping it straight with you. Okay? They know who you are. And that's how we were able to come across you so quick. And you can You can cry, get upset. I understand. It's tough times. But I just need to kind of figure out why I mean, I understand why you did it now cuz you need money. And it's due tomorrow, correct? Your rent? It's on the 11th. And we just you know, what's what's going on? I need to hear it from you. What's what's up? Hold What's up? I think this is all all pictures of In an unexpected moment, the suspect comes clean about the entire incident. That's that's not the real note. The real note is in that sweatshirt. Okay. But what what was this then? I was writing on that but I I thought I'd throw it out. But the real one is in inside of the sweatshirt. Okay, what does what does the note say? I don't remember you having to get it. That wasn't in there. Okay, that's the money bag. What what is that from? That's from McDonald's. We put it in it. The the employee girl. She was I was in the bathroom before they closed. I went there at 11:40. If you watch the cameras, you see I was in there at 11:48. She She knew I was in there. Did she talk to you? She said, "Hey." Mhm. And she I when I went in, look at the cameras when I went in, I had my head down and my hoodie on, but she remembered me as me and her used to work there. She now walks the officers through what happened leading up to the robbery. Yes, she did. You worked Yeah, she remembered me and her used to work in the morning, so she said, "Hey, hey, Aisha." So, I've been in there since Mhm. 11:00 [clears throat] 11:40 11:50. Mhm. So, she knew I was in there. And when she looked at the manager when I finally came out 12:00, cuz I knew they closed at 12:00. Came out at 12:00. She looked at him with a smirk. She already knew I was in there. Okay. And that's when she was like, "Oh, um" and then locked the door. But he didn't lock it. Mhm. But she just knew I I don't know if she I don't know if she knew that I was still in the bathroom, but she knew I was there. She looked at me and she spoke to me. Mhm. And [clears throat] then when she seen when I came all the way in I gave I didn't give them no I just held it. Mhm. >> [clears throat] >> And I just asked all of them for their phones. And I told them to go in the office. Now the suspect goes into detail about how she carried out the robbery. The phone, why did you take their phones? I didn't want them to call y'all. No, okay. So, I I took everybody's phones. One of One boy he didn't want to give it to me. I said, "I'm going to give it back to you now so we can go leave." And when we got in the office, I gave And before I left, I gave all of them their phones back. Well, I gave I gave it to him. Did you make them walk to that office? I just said, "Everybody go to the office." Okay, and [clears throat] you What did you have? Did you have the gun out? I had it in my leg. I had it like in my sleeve like Well, they said that you had it like by the note. Yeah, it was like behind like like behind it like the note is not this and I had it like this. Did you tell them that What did you tell them when you got there that if everybody complies, there won't be no problems or did you say >> I just said I The manager was in the kitchen and I was like, "Okay, how it is." We walk in and she I I was right here. She was right there. The manager right there behind like it's like a little shelf thing. He was behind that in the kitchen. So, if he turned his head, he could see me. Mhm. >> [clears throat] >> And I just said, "Read the note." And then he read it. And then he like walked like he walked around that little thing but he stood right there and she was like she was by me. She was like right there. She was by me but not by like I'm right here. She right there. And then she ended up walking in the kitchen and I said, "Everybody just give me your phone and just walk to the office." How many phones did you end up getting? Well, every employee's, right? >> Four and and the job phone. Okay, now what about that job phone? Is that Did you just know that there was a work phone so you wanted to get it or Well, every job has like a little cordless phone that you can walk around with. Every job at McDonald's or So, I So, you knew that. Yeah. So, I said I said, "Where the work phone at?" And he said, "Right there." And I grabbed it and everybody gave me a phone. A key question is [music] raised by the officers, one that could affect how serious her charges become. Now, you go to the office. Now, how much money did you end up getting from the safe?
