Number five, woman wanted to become a cop, then blew it all before even getting hired. An officer initiates a traffic stop, but the driver keeps going for several more miles before finally pulling over. Here's what happens next. >> How are you? >> Pretty good. >> Why are you driving like that? >> Hello. >> Yes. >> Why are you driving like that? >> Sorry. Okay. >> So, it's not current, >> but this is the one I have. >> But here is everything. My registration insurance. >> Okay. Why are you driving like that? >> What? What? What do you mean like driving? >> You're doing 100 plus on the interstate, weaving in and out of vehicles. What is the rush? >> I don't I don't I really don't know. >> All right. Want to give these back to you? And I miss you. I'm gonna give these back to you. And then Miss Yellow Hair, I'm gonna have you step out. We'll go speak back here about your speed. Okay. >> Okay. Sorry. I have a cold sore right here. >> Okay. >> Very embarrassing. >> You can just leave your documents in your vehicle. Okay. >> Uh am I being detained? >> What is that? >> Do I need to step out my vehicle to be detained? >> I just told you I'm going to talk to you about your speed back here. >> Okay, I'm fine with that. I I'll cooperate with you. >> Okay. Will you stand in front of my car, please? >> Okay. in front of my vehicle. >> Even with a strong scent of alcohol in the air, the woman denies being under the influence, giving the officer even more reasons to dig deeper. >> No weapons on you or anything? >> No, I don't have no weapons. >> Okay. While I'm speaking with you, just keep your hands outside your pocket, please. >> Okay. >> Okay. >> I just have my Can I just lock my car? >> Sure. So, what is the rush? Talk to me. >> Um, I'm I just don't have a rush, really. >> Okay. Well, you're doing 100 on the interstate. >> Did you Is this set on your speedometer? >> It is. Okay. >> Can I check, please? >> We're not going to be checking anything tonight. I'm just telling you what I stopped you for. Okay. You're doing 100 plus on the interstate. You're driving recklessly. You're weaving in and out of cars. I mean, what what is the point of all this? >> Nothing really. >> Okay. Where are you trying to get to? >> I'm just trying to get home. >> Home? And you're coming from where? >> Uh I mean like I I just I have the rights, you know. Sure. Got you. How much have you drank tonight? >> I have none really. >> Okay. None really. >> What does that mean? >> I mean, I had some this morning, but that's it's out of my system by now. >> Okay. When was your last drink? >> Probably like 10:00 this morning. >> 10 this morning. Why can I still smell it coming from your breath as you're breathing? Even though you have a mask on. I mean >> I mean, you probably could smell something as maybe my perfume. I don't know. >> Well, I'm not smelling perfume. Okay. I know what the smell of an intoxicating alcoholic beverage smells like and I can smell it clearly coming from your breath. >> I mean, I literally have a mask on, so I don't know how you could tell. >> Okay. So, when was your last drink? Would you say >> like 10 this morning? Like I said, >> 10 this morning. >> Yeah. >> And what did you drink? >> Um, I was literally at high salon. >> I had a prickly pear. >> Prickly pear. >> Yeah. Margarita. >> Okay. And what? I'm not familiar with that. What's high salon? >> I mean, you're from Albuquerque, right? Is this like Are you Albuquerque or Sheriff? >> No, I'm a state police officer. >> Okay. >> So, I mean, what is that? Is it a bar, a restaurant? >> It's a restaurant and saloon. >> A saloon? >> Yeah. >> Okay. So, like a bar. >> Given what the officer has observed so far, a field sobriety test is now in order. >> So, Mr. I'm just going to check you tonight. Make sure you're all right. Okay. >> Okay. >> Your drive behavior has me super worried. You're hauling butt. You're weaving in and out of traffic. I mean, looks like you're going to cause a crash. If I had stopped you, looks like you were going to crash. >> Okay. >> Okay. >> So, you you say you haven't >> Yeah, I Yeah, I understand. >> You say you haven't had nothing to drink. I'm just going to check you real quick to make sure you're all right. Okay, Mr. >> Yeah, I could do a couple tests if you need to. >> Okay. Stand in front of me. >> Right in front of me. >> Stand with your feet together, toes touching, arms by your side. >> Okay. >> Do you have contacts in? >> No. I'm supposed to be wearing glasses, though. >> Okay. It's okay. But no contacts in your eyes? >> No, not right now. >> Any recent head trauma? >> No. >> Traumatic brain injuries? >> No. >> Nothing going on with your head? >> No. >> Okay. Can you take your hair and brush it behind your ears the best you can? >> I can put it up if you need me to. >> Sure. Any reason you're so aggressive? >> I just have a test date for Albuquerque Police tomorrow. That's all. >> Okay. Well, maybe don't be doing 100 miles an hour on the on the interstate if you're testing for a police agency. if that's what you have. >> Okay. Stand with your arms by your side, please. Outside of your pockets. I'm going to have you focus on the tip of my finger. Right there where my fingerprint is. Okay. I'll be going back and forth a few times. I don't want you to move your head. I want you to follow the tip of my finger, moving your eyes and your eyes only. Do you understand what I want you to do? >> Mhm. >> Do you have any questions? >> No. >> Okay. Good. >> Can you just like turn off your brightness, though? >> No, ma'am. This is just how we do things. >> Okay. >> Okay. You see the tip of my finger? Tilt your chin down just a bit. Perfect. Follow the tip of my finger. Moving your eyes and your eyes only. >> It's a basic eye movement test, but somehow she's already stumbling through it and the officer picks up every sign. >> My first time taking the test. >> I get you, ma'am. Just listen to my instructions, okay? You don't have to keep moving your head and stuff like that, >> okay? Just try your best. right there where my fingerprint is. Follow it with your eyes. Moving your eyes will only me. >> I don't understand like the way you're positioning your flashlight though cuz like it's literally like exaggerating my eyes. >> It's not doing anything that it doesn't need to do. Okay. All I'm doing is illuminating your face so I can see. Okay. You don't have to understand. >> I mean, if you want me to take off my mask, I could. But like, look. See? >> Yeah. >> It's just why I have >> I could care less if you keep your mask on or off. Okay. >> Okay. >> Right now, I just want you to follow simple instructions. Follow my finger. Don't question where my flashlight is and why it is doing what it is doing. Just follow my finger. >> I just haven't had that training yet, so I'm just understanding. >> Okay. Are you in the academy right now? >> No, I'm not. >> You're just testing. >> Yes. >> Okay. Again, follow my finger. >> You're like really shaking, too. >> It's just my natural vibration. Okay. Follow the tip of my finger. Was any problems walking, turning, or bouncing? >> No, I just had surgery on my knee though. >> How long ago did you have surgery? >> About six years ago. Okay. So, but you're in the process of testing for a police academy? >> Yes, sir. >> So, you're healthy enough to pass a physical and stuff like that? >> Yes, sir. >> Okay. No active injuries right now? >> No, sir. >> Okay. You're wearing like some slide croc type shoes. Do you want to keep >> These are bands. >> Okay. Do you want to keep them on? I'm going to be asking you do some walking turning bounces. >> Take them off if you need to, sir. >> What was that? >> I can take them off if you need to, sir. >> I just am asking if you want to keep them on or take them off. >> I Whatever you need to, sir. >> It's up to you. I'm going to be asking you to do some walking turn. >> It's up to you, sir. Okay. Well, this is just a regular parking lot. If you want to leave them on, you can leave them on. Okay. >> That's fine, sir. >> So, >> whatever you say, sir. >> Okay. So, no no injuries, no problems walking, turning, or bouncing. >> No, sir. >> Okay. Just hang out for me real quick. Okay. >> And now what follows is the heel to toe test. >> 545. Go. M. You see this line right here? >> Yes, sir. >> I'm going to have you stand right where this >> flashlight is. >> Yes, sir. >> Facing this way. >> You can take a step forward so you're not on that crack. parallel >> right here for you. >> Perfect. So, I'm going to place you in a starting position. >> Yes, sir. >> When I have you in that position, I don't want you to move or start this test until I tell you to do so. Okay. >> Yes, sir. >> Tonight, I'm going to be instructing you to do nine heel to toe steps, a turn as I demonstrate, and then nine heel to toe steps back. Okay. >> Yes, sir. >> The starting position for this test, you're going to take your left foot, place it on that line like me. Go ahead and do that now. >> Now, with your right, place it in front of your left, heel to toe touching, arms by your side. Miss, this is the starting position. Do not move or start this test until I tell you to do so. When I instruct you to do so, you will do nine heel to toe steps along that 4-inch wide line. >> Sir, can I say that it's very cold out here, >> Mrs. 89°. >> Okay. >> So, when I instruct you to do so, you're going to do nine heel totoe steps along that 4inch wide line. Okay? The line that you're standing on. Watch me. One, two, three. But on your ninth step, you will plant your lead foot with the foot behind it. A series of small steps, keeping your lead foot planted the entire time. You will then turn, continue back down the line. Nine heel to toe steps. One, two, three. Now, when I instruct you to start, M you're going to look down at each step, counting each step out loud. You're going to keep your arms by your side. And once you start this test, you won't stop until you're completely finished. >> Yes, sir. >> Do you understand my instructions? >> Yes, sir. >> You have zero questions? >> No, sir. >> Next step is step one. Go ahead and begin. >> 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 turn. >> 10. >> Number of steps. >> He said nine steps, sir. >> Nine steps. The turn as I demonstrated and then your nine back. Improper turn. Stops. The woman's performance raises more red flags with every move. Even so, the officers hold back, giving the woman a chance to finish the test on her own. >> Ready for proceed. >> Go ahead. One serve. Two serve arms. >> Three. Four. Five. Six. 7. 8. Nine. Sir, >> face me. This next test, what I'm going to ask you to do is you're going to choose a leg of your choice. Okay? It could be your left. It could be your right. Whichever leg you choose, you're going to raise that foot above the ground, parallel with the ground, about 6 in off the ground. Your arms will be by your side. Both legs will be straight. You'll look down at your raised toe, counting in 10,00s, focusing on the tip of your toe. Watch me. 1,001 1,002 1,003 100,004 continuing until I tell you to stop. Okay? It's going to be about 30 seconds. Do you understand what I explained to you? >> Yes, sir. >> Do you have any questions? >> No, sir. >> Go ahead. Begin. 1 1,00 2 100 3 100 4 100 5 100 6 100 7 100 8 1 9 100 Sir, >> keep going. 11,000 12,000 13,000 14,000 15,000 167,000 sir 18,000 19,000 20,000 21,000 sir, >> you can stop. >> You said your last drink was about 10:00 a.m. this morning. >> Yes, sir. >> No, no, no prescription pills. >> No, sir. You can test me right now. >> Okay. Turn around and face away from me and don't move. >> Place your other hand behind your back. >> Why am I being detained, sir? >> You're not being detained. You're being placed under arrest. >> For what? >> Walk over with me and I'll explain to you >> by yourself. >> Yeah, I believe so. >> Despite the obvious signs of intoxication, the woman still refuses to admit that the officer made the right call. >> I did not fail my test, sir. >> Okay. Face my windshield. Widen your stance. >> I believe it. >> Woman supposed to search me, sir? >> No, not in our department. >> Are you wearing a bra? >> Yes. >> Anything in that bra that's going to hurt me? >> No, it's a sports bra, sir. walk around to the side of my car and I'm going to read something to you. [Music] Have a seat. >> The only reason you have that mask on is for your cold sore. >> Yes. I have a fever blister, sir. >> Okay. What's in your mouth? >> Nothing. >> Just your teeth and your tongue. >> Just my freaking braces. >> Okay. Open your mouth. Perfect. I'm going to place this back on you. Okay. Scoot over just a tad. So, Miss Help, listen to me. I'm about to tell you something important. >> Yes, sir. >> You are under arrest for driving while under the influence of intoxicating alcohol and or the New Mexico Implied Consent Act requires you to submit to a breath test to determine the alcohol content of your blood. After you take our test, you have the right to choose an additional independent test. If you choose to take this additional independent test, you have the right to a reasonable opportunity to arrange for a physician. Do you agree to take our test? >> No, I don't. >> I cannot force you to take our test, but if you refuse, you will lose your New Mexico driver's license or non-resident operating privilege for one year. Do you understand? >> Yes, sir. >> Of New Mexico law that you take a breath test. >> I know my right, sir. >> Do you now agree to be tested? >> Take these handcuffs off of me? >> No, ma'am. Do you now agree to be tested? >> I just need a yes or a no. Yes or no? >> Yes, sir. >> Yes. You agree to be tested? >> Yes, sir. >> So, you will test tonight? >> Yes, sir. >> Okay. >> Now, in the back seat, she's not staying quiet, and instead, she spends the ride arguing every decision made. >> I do not have no warrant. I checked on the government's website to see if I had any traffic violations. They would They didn't say nothing. Can you at least play me a song so I don't get all so upset? >> No, man. >> Why not? >> Cuz the way you're acting. >> How am I acting? I literally follow your procedure like throughout the whole way. >> Why would you freak out? >> Because he's a freaking guy. >> Oh, yeah. You're not going to be in there with that guy. You >> have tissue, please. >> Almost. We're almost there. >> I'm literally sick right now. like >> you're not throwing up or anything, are you? >> Okay. >> But you just have mucus. That's what you say. >> Yeah. I need to cough it up. >> As soon as we're done here, I'll take you to the restroom. You can do what you need. Take one big breath. One big breath and blow. into the court. >> What's wrong? >> Can I just give me some tissue and blow my nose? >> Not right now. We're here. We're not going to be doing anything else. Okay. This is your opportunity. If you're going to blow tonight, blow into the machine. >> Okay. >> Big breath and blow. >> I would like to blow through my nose. That's all. >> I can't get any closer. You're going to have to get closer. >> Big breath and blow until you do not hear noise. Stop. >> They do. That's how hard I work. Shine just comes right off. One more time. >> Things shift quickly once the woman starts listing every reason she's not taking the test, but the officer isn't in the mood to argue. I'm not taking another one. >> Okay. >> I'm sick and I got laded from even blowing. I have probably an ear infection and my ears are plugged up right now. >> Okay. Well, you don't have to stand. I can move the machine closer to you. Are you going to provide a breath sample? Yes or no? >> You have done that the first time for me. Why didn't you do that for me the first time? >> Cuz I have no idea what's going on with you. Okay. >> I literally asked you for tissue and I told you I was sick. I have a fever blister on my lip. >> Mr. Are you going to blow tonight or am I going to consider your actions refusal? >> I already gave you a breathalyzer. >> I asked for two asked for two breath samples when I read the ICAD. >> Could I please just at least get some tissue before I do another one? >> Not right now, ma'am. Listen to me. All you have to do is blow just like you just did. And as soon as we're done, I'm going to stand you up and walk you straight to the bathroom. Just one more breath and we're done. >> What was your last name? >> Savage. Miss, this thing has a timer. If you do not provide a breath sample, I'll be charging with aggravated DWI tonight. >> Are you going to blow into the machine? Yes or no? Okay. I'm considering your actions. >> Okay, I'll take I'll take it. Just give me a minute. >> Well, this thing has a timer and as soon as it's done, it's going to make an audible noise. I'll be charging with activated DWI. Big breath and blow. [Music] >> Keep going. Keep going. You're almost there. Stop. [Music] So, Miss Results of your test is.14.13. Okay. So, you must have had one heck of a drink at breakfast this morning. Still below 0.14. Stand up for me. Walk over here. I'll take you to the restroom. >> Her BAC was nearly double the legal limit of 008%, a number that quickly sealed her fate for the night. She was charged with DUI. Number four, delivery drivers route took a detour to the station. Coming up on June 6, 2025 in Little Silver, New Jersey, an officer on patrol notices a black 2004 Nissan Maxima cruising down the road with no headlights. Here's how the traffic stop unfolds. >> Hello. >> Hi, miss. Good evening. How are you? >> Okay. >> My name is Officer White, Los Silver Police Department. >> Yeah. Do you mind if I just uh see your license registration proof insurance? Sure. I'm sorry. I'm door dashing. >> Door dashing? >> Yes. Drop the slap on the river side. So, I'm almost there. Thank you. >> Is your license up to date? >> Yes, sir. >> Okay. Um, do you have the interlock in your car? >> No. >> Okay. It says uh on >> Okay. That's why I was asking. It says you still require one on the license. >> December of last year. >> December of last year. >> Yeah. Okay. >> So, the reason why I'm stopping you, okay, just at this time of night, you got to have your lights on by now. Okay. Your headlights. >> Okay. >> How long have you been door dashing for tonight? >> Uh, since 5:30. 5:30. >> Gotcha. >> I had to drop this off at Riverside Drive. >> Riverside Drive. >> Yeah. >> Okay. What kind of food you get? Where's the problem? >> Uh, it's uh something. >> You know what? I don't Okay. Driving without headlights was the reason for the traffic stop, but a closer look or smell of the woman identified as Allison Mcnite made the officer suspicious. It seems like Allison should have never driven in the first place. >> Anything to drink tonight? No. >> No. >> Alison, I'm just going to do a quick test up here at the window. Okay. >> Okay. >> All right. You familiar with the English alphabet? >> Very much so. >> I'm sorry. >> Very much so. >> Very much so. All right. Can you just recite it from the letter D to W for me? >> D E F A G H I J K L M N O P Q R S T U V W. >> Okay. All right. Nothing to drink today at all. >> Earlier. >> Earlier. What's earlier? >> 12:00. >> 12:00. What did you have? >> Um, a shot of uh I think uh Whitten. >> Okay. Just the one? All right. All right. License good though, right? No point suspensions? >> No. No. >> No. It's all good. >> All good. Okay. Cool. >> I just had to redo the whole thing. I had to go take the driver's test over. Okay. >> All right. Just uh give me one second. Okay. >> Sure. Thanks. >> All right. So, um driving with no lights on, driving pretty slow. Um said she's Ubering since 5:30. Asked her if she had anything to drink. She said no originally. Then I said anything at all. And then she said she had Pink Whitney around noon, so she changed her answer. Um, she's got a like big Powerade bottle in the center console with straight clear non like bubbly liquid. Um, got odor. So, I just want to >> What's I couldn't hear what she said. She has an interlock device requirement. >> It usually just says when it needs to be installed. I found one year. >> She's She's saying she doesn't need it anymore. Michelle said that it was installed in April of 24, but then updated in May. >> While reviewing Allison's license, the officer spots a restriction that requires her to use an interlock device, a condition tied to her past DUI cases. The discovery prompts the officer to press further, asking Allison a few more questions before initiating the sobriety test. >> Miss, do you mind just step into the back of your car for me? >> Sure. >> Thank you. >> Just to the back bumper. >> You can take a seat right there. You can take a seat on your back bumper. Thank you. So, do you still require your interlock or No. >> No. Removed in December. >> Removed in December. When did you have to get it put on? >> 7 months prior to last year of the year. >> Do you have any documentation that says that you don't require it anymore? >> I actually got my driver's license. I had to go back to get my driver's license redone. I went and took all the tests. So, they never removed it. I'm just asking you to grab it. >> All right. >> Stay here. Stay >> in the bottle. >> I grab it. >> Go for it. >> This is my last trip. I was on my way home. >> On your way home? >> Yeah. >> It's pretty busy night though to not want to Door Dash later in the night. >> Yeah. I You know what? I'm not good driver at night. No. My church donated this car to me recently. So yeah, I do not power. Is that power? >> I know that's But recently they donated this car to me. So and I have driven before with with the lights on. I'm not a good night driver, >> but please. >> Okay, >> we're we're in the middle of something. Thank you. >> Pull over then up on the side. >> Now, the officers ask Allison a few more questions before initiating a field sobriety test. >> Um, take any other. >> Do you do any other? >> No. >> No, I don't need any help. No thanks. Okay. All right. All right. All right. Do me a favor. Have a seat on your bumper. I'm just going to check your eyes. Okay. >> Okay. >> See my pen here? >> Do you want me to follow it? >> One second. I'm going to explain everything. >> Okay. >> What color is my pen? >> Blue. >> Okay. Well, your eyes and your eyes only. I want you to follow my pen. Okay. Do not move your head. Okay. >> Do you understand my instructions? Okay. Heat up here. Heat. [Music] Heat. All right, last one. We're going to go up. Okay. >> Mhm. >> One more time. All right. Just going to listen to this officer give instructions next. >> Zero. >> What? >> Zero. Okay. >> The test continues with a heel to toe test and officers are paying close attention to how she handles it. >> All right, miss. I'm just going to run you through a quick test. Okay. You see the straight line in front of you? All right. I want you to stand both feet right hands down at your side. I want you to take your left foot, put your left foot on that line. Keep your arms down at your side. Put your right heel touching your left toes. Just stay on the line. Just like that. Yep. >> Okay. >> All right. When I tell you to, you're going to take nine heel. >> Okay. >> Can you get back in this arm position, please? Thank you. >> All right. When I tell you to, you're going to take nine heel to toe steps. Okay. On the line, >> arms down at your side, counting your steps out loud. It'll look something like this. Okay. One, two, three. I'm taking three. You're going to take nine. When you get to your nine step, you're going to take your back foot off the line. Take small shuffle steps like so. And return. Nine heel to toe steps. Arms down to your side. Counting out loud. One, two, three, and so forth till you get Nope. Don't start yet. >> Oh, I thought you had after after you took >> I'm going to I'm going to tell you when to start. Okay. So, take take a couple steps back. Okay. You're going to put your left foot on the line. Right. Right heel touching your left toes. >> Oh, right. >> What's that? Yeah. Whenever you're ready, miss, you can begin. [Music] >> All right, I'm going to run you through one more test. Okay, it's called the onelegged stand. Okay, you can step up here. >> Yep. Just right there. >> After completing the test, officers determine that Allison is too impaired to drive. With that, they place her under arrest. >> Where you going, church? >> Hel is that where you live. I'm going to be my car. >> Alice is going to get me a car. Am I going to go home? No. Okay. Okay. That That's okay. You don't have to reach. It's okay. >> All right. We're going to walk back to this car right here. Okay. >> I think I have a quarter in my pocket. >> A quarter. All right. >> Yeah. >> I'm just going to do a quick pat down with the back of my hand. You got nothing in your shoes? >> No. >> Got a couple quarters in here. Do you mind if I turn your pocket out? You >> might. You may. >> All right. So more than a quarter. >> So as part of a DWI arrest, we searched the car. Is there anything in there we should know about? >> I don't do >> I didn't I didn't say I didn't say anything else. >> No. >> Grab your purse. You want your phone and your purse, right? >> Uh yeah, because I would eventually need to make the phone call. Okay. >> These are hard seats. Is that water in the center? >> Yes, it is water. >> Okay. >> I just want to make sure. >> Thank you. >> Officers are in the middle of their search when they notice the bag in the front seat. It's the Chipotle order Allison was delivering, and someone's clearly wondering why it hasn't shown up yet. >> I'll take a drive when we clear up if you want. >> Bring it back. All right. >> Yep. Getting a phone call right now from Door Dash. >> Answer it. >> Your Door Dash customer. >> Hello. >> Never share personal information, passwords, or verification codes with anyone over the phone. Calls may be monitored and recorded by Door Dash and service providers for quality. >> Hello. May I ask who's calling? Yeah. Uh, I didn't get my order. >> Um, yeah. So, this is the Little Silver Police Department. Okay. Your dasher actually uh just was placed under arrest. Um, >> if you want to come pick up your food at our police headquarters, we can do that if you'd like. >> Oh. Uh, no. That's what I meant. >> You sure? >> Uh, okay. >> Yeah. Um, sure you have it or what? >> Yes, we we we have it. Yep. >> All right. Um, okay. Uh, thank you. >> No problem. >> Here's your phone if you want to put it in the bag. We can call when we get back to headquarters, ma'am. >> I wouldn't be before 9:30. >> Uh, it's just about 9:00, so we'll see what time it is. All right. >> I just need to know that. >> Well, we'll call him in two minutes when we get back to headquarters. What's your name? >> And what's your son's name? >> Brian. >> Brian. >> Can you throw that in there? Do you have a telescope or do you need one? >> I got it. >> All right. >> Just grab our phone number. >> Yeah. >> At the station, Allison's blood alcohol content was recorded at 0067%. Still within the legal limit. Because of this, she was eventually released into the custody of her son, who signed the potential liability warning on her behalf. However, that didn't mean she walked away without consequences. Officers still issued her multiple citations, including operating while under the influence, reckless driving, careless driving, and failure to use lighted lamps when required. Number three, when the one hired to keep the peace ends up starting the problem. On May 3rd, 2024, police responded to reports of a woman crashing into several parked cars in a lot while allegedly under the influence. What follows is the moment officers approach the driver. >> Get out of the car, >> bro. I'm going to go to jail. Are you out your way? >> Put your phone down. She I don't have time for this. And then she just took off and she hit the next car. >> Just these. >> No, we're all cars. She came out of here like crazy. Just >> she was coming in. >> She was coming out of a parking totally. She kept arguing and throwing insults at the officer before ultimately being charged with DUI and hit and run. Number two, woman just clocked out and went straight into cuffs. In this next case, officers respond to a crash involving a gray SUV. At the scene, they find a woman alone with a vehicle. A nearby truck driver claims he saw her behind the wheel just before it swerved and crashed. But what she says catches everyone off guard. >> I can't tell cuz I got congested. But she definitely >> Did you see Did you see the crash happen? >> I see it cuz I was here. So I jump out the way. That's why I stopped. >> So you were coming and you saw it on the way. >> Okay. Mhm. >> 49 lane one and two are >> Hey, bro. Can you tell the truck driver to stay? >> He don't want to be involved. I told him not to. I said I don't want to get him cuz he's out of town. I don't want to get his company involved. >> So, don't don't tell him because I don't >> He told me that he saw you driving. >> Well, he didn't because I wasn't here. >> Okay. Well, he said he did. though. >> Sorry. I mean, >> how much alcohol have you had consumed today? >> Not. >> How much alcohol did you consume today? >> Not hardly anything, my friend. >> I told you. I just told you what happened. >> So, you cannot blame me for anything. >> I'm not blaming you for anything. I'm just asking you how much alcohol you've consumed today. >> Not hardly anything. >> You haven't had anything? >> She tells officers she had a couple of beers, but denies being the driver. Instead, she blames a friend who conveniently isn't at the scene. >> I don't have it cuz she has everything. She took it. I don't have nothing. >> Just give me one second. Look for ID. Let me start talk to my supervisor. Okay. So, say she's saying that her friend was driving and that her friend got picked up by a car >> because she was so scared of the police coming. And I >> I'm about to go talk to the semi-driver cuz he got here right after it happened. Um, so but she's saying that she wasn't a driver, but she's >> and he was upset >> and he doesn't want to get company. >> Can you watch your search? Let me go talk to >> him. Okay, >> that's why I'm still here. Just stay right there. >> This is my favorite. >> It's okay. Have a seat, >> ma'am. So So when I got here, you told me you got hit. >> I did get hit. This was a previous hit. this. >> The woman pulls out a receipt from an auto shop dated earlier that day, claiming it proves her car was already damaged before the crash, but the officers aren't buying it. It doesn't excuse the accident, and it definitely doesn't clear her from being the driver. >> Driving tonight? >> Yes, you were. >> No, I wasn't. >> From the statements that I gathered from the truck driver, from your statements, when I first got on scene, you told me you got hit and you ended up here. >> Okay. He lied. >> So, don't lie to me. Okay. >> I'm not lying. I know you're the driver of this vehicle, okay? So, look, okay, >> be honest with me, okay? It goes a long way. >> Mhm. >> Don't lie to me. I know you were the driver, okay? But you lying to me is not is not going to it's not going to help you any way. Okay? I understand you smell like alcohol. I understand you've been consuming alcohol. Okay? You said you had about two beers, correct? >> I did. >> That's all you had. Okay. All righty. So, what I'm going to have you do is I'm going to have you perform some uh field test to make sure you're not impressed from driving. Okay. >> I want you to see that I >> I purchased this this headlight. >> Okay. So, like I said, >> so like I said, I'm going to have you perform some field sobriety test. >> Can you at least look at this? >> Yes, I'll I'll look at it later. Um, so what we're going to do Okay. Uh, let's walk. >> He was not here the whole time. >> Okay. So, so from his statement, from what he told me, you told him when he when he got here, you were trying to move your vehicle and you were trying to leave the scene. >> Okay. You told him that you had to leave. >> That's why I stayed here. You told him that you had to leave. >> Okay. >> Yeah. Exactly. I didn't get hit. >> No, exactly. You crashed into the guardrail. >> No, this is what just happened. >> So, you're saying that that damage is already has been >> It's already there. That's why I have >> So, so what happened to the guardrail right there? Cuz I wasn't there. >> Baby, look at this. This is what happened. This is what I purchased today. >> Okay. So, ma'am, like I said, I'm going to have you run some field sobriety tests, okay? To make sure you're not impaired. >> Can you look at this? because this is not that >> Listen to me. Okay, listen to me. Okay, >> I we're not talking about that. Okay, >> she's clearly too impaired to reason with. But that doesn't stop the officer from calling out the logic behind her excuse. >> From my training and experience, I could tell that she just hit that guardrail because the damage is consistent from coming this way, hitting that guard. >> Call Mondo right now. This is >> That's fine. Okay, that's Listen, >> that's my damage from last weekend at the bar. So all this debris that came from your vehicle >> that's not right here. >> That's from your vehicle. That's the same color as your vehicle. >> That's some other from another car. This is my vehicle. >> All right. Go ahead and come over here with me. I'm going to have you run uh perform test. >> Let's look at this so you can see. I'll look at this. >> That's a headlight. I did a report. >> Let's go over here, ma'am. >> And I did that. I'm noted up like I know that. >> Okay. Do me a favor. As a matter of fact, have a seat on that that that side of the guardrail for me. Okay. >> I know. But I didn't I >> just Okay. Just have a seat. >> Listen to the officer. Let's have a seat right there. Have a seat right there. >> I will because >> the officers are getting ready to conduct a sobriety test. But first, the lead officer fills the others in on how the situation has played out. >> She's a driver. Um, according to the tow truck driver or >> No. Yeah. Yeah. No, there's there's no there's no even there's no even um fighting it. >> Yeah. There's no even fighting it. It's her. Uh he said that when he got here she was already crashed. She was telling him that he need she needed to leave the scene. Um told the APD officer when he arrived that she got hit. Told me the same thing when I got here. I told her what happened. She told me she got hit all of a sudden when I asked her how much she had consumed alcohol. She told me her friend was driving the vehicle that her friend got picked up that cuz she was scared of the cops. I told her that why did her friend leave her here and not take her with her that she said that it wasn't right to leave and all this stuff. That's fine. >> Do your Do what you're going to do. Um 46. >> Yeah, take photos. >> I'm going to move my >> We got to do a diagram because it it is 47. >> Okay. I'm going to move my patrol car like around here. That way I can use this. Um >> why don't you put it on that side? >> On the other side. >> Yeah. That way >> of the car. >> Okay. >> I'm just scared of traffic coming cutting in. >> You know what? I'll swap with you. >> Well, you know what? I I could use the I could use this side right here. >> Yeah. I'll you I'll back it up right here and then Yeah. If you want to just put your patrol car like this so you could block off this lane. >> Yeah. >> Let me just move back real quick. >> Just let me exactly how you want it. You move over here. >> Yeah. Yeah. Or you could just like angle it so you block off both lanes. I'm just going to move back to where the APD unit is at. Over to that patrol car, the second one. >> Fine. >> Like I just literally that girl, she deep on me and I don't have no problem. I don't have no issue. I don't have no reason to lie. That was previous stuff. You can see the date, the time that I ordered that part. >> Okay. >> And you can see all the receipt. I already talked to Mar. >> So you you order the whole front end. >> Yeah, it's on here. It's on here today. >> Come over here. >> It's on here today. I don't have an issue. >> So, you're going to stand right there where that light is at? >> Okay. >> The officers move to begin the test, but right away it's obvious the woman isn't on board. You see the light right there? >> I see the light, but you didn't even look at my paperwork. >> Okay, stand right there. >> Accusing me is something that I did not do. I don't want to I don't want to do a sobriety test when I have my paperwork. I got hit by somebody else. >> I'm going to have you perform a sobriety test. >> Are you accusing me of something that I did not do? >> Okay, man. >> You weren't here. >> It doesn't matter. Okay. I have training and experience. From my training and experience. Okay. >> Listen. Listen. From my training and experience, I know you crashed into that guardrail. >> Quit. Okay. I need for you to listen to me. Okay, this is very important. >> The officers try to proceed with the test, but her attitude hasn't changed. At this point, the officer has had enough. >> So, before we begin, do you feel comfortable with that with those shoes that you're wearing? >> I feel comfortable. You still did not. >> Okay. So, you feel comfortable with the >> Are you going to let me talk or you going to keep talking over me? I already told you this is very important. You need to pay attention. Okay. Did you walk? >> Yeah, I walked >> from where? >> My house. I live right over there. >> So, you walked here? >> Yes. With who? >> My daughter right there. That's my daughter. Come on. Yes or no? >> You walked here. >> You walked here. >> Me and my daughter. >> Would you guys walk here? >> The woman tries to lie her way through the situation, but officers aren't fooled. Worse yet, the child is stuck watching it unfold. >> Did you walk? Whose car? Whose car is that over there? It's a van. >> Did she drive here? She did drive. In what? In what vehicle? >> Vehicle. >> No. What vehicle did she drive? >> There's a van. Okay. I'm not going to play games with you. I'm not answering your questions. I'm telling you, you need to sit in the car. >> Right. So, you don't want to catch an obstruction charge. >> Let's just have a seat. Okay. >> Officers are trying to get her to the station for booking, but she's doing everything she can to slow it down. >> All right. She's >> I know she is. >> No. Before you got here, Hernandez has already given Hernandez a hard time. That's why we're beyond. >> What is the charge? >> Obstruction. >> It is obstruction. >> For what? >> Because Officer Fucci is trying to gently guide you into the backseat of this car like you were told to do, and you're not doing it. >> My home's right over there. Hold me on. >> Before you do anything, you need to sit in the car. >> Watch your head. >> There you go. There you go. >> At least just put your feet in. >> Nope. I'm not doing it. >> I'm not doing my husband is here. >> You want a waffle? >> How far away is your husband? >> So, at this point, we're going to pull you in the back of the car unless you get it out of yourself. No, you No, you're not. No, please. No. Why would y'all do this? [Laughter] >> Moments later, the child's father finally arrives to pick her up. >> All right, Sarah. Let's go say hi to dad. >> All right, >> there. >> Yeah, she's fine. >> Okay, thank you. Can you >> Yeah, of course. >> Okay, she got the one car. The car is over there. >> Okay. I don't know. >> What's problem? >> She was coming back and forth to the store. The store guy was like, "I bought sold you beer two times. The car declined three times and she wanted the beer." But she was stuttering so much that he couldn't sell it to her. So he told her, "Just go home, please. I'll come back." And she said they always come here. So she didn't want to do that. >> Yeah. And she told him, she said, "Call the cops." And Sarah was like, "Mom, come on. Let's go." She told her. And I told her, I said, "Hey, just go because you know you've been drinking. you going to go to jail? And she said, I'm not going to jail in there. And she was trying to fight the cops and all. >> Okay. >> So, she doesn't have the keys on her. They must be in the store. So, the car >> in the car. Okay. >> The lady your >> Yeah. She'll just go take a nap and then she'll be back. >> Yeah. Okay. >> Three times. Mama, you drunk too much. You drink too much. You go home. Your daughter tell you, "Mama, come home. Come home." No. No. >> Okay. Thank you. No problem. No problem. I'm happy. >> Okay. Is over here. Okay. >> Yeah. >> Thank you. It's my life. Stay here. >> I hear you. >> We got out here. >> Hernandez is trying to work with her at the gas station. Hey, you you need to go. Oh, wait. And then quickly realizes, okay, this girl's this lady's highly intoxicated and her van's parked out here in like she she drove here with her child in the car under the influence. >> The officer makes sure to note in his report that the woman is in no condition to care for the young girl. >> So, he's he he he goes ahead and put puts handcuffs on her. Um, and then she starts obstructing him. She sits down on the ground. We had to sweet talk her into the car. She's a piece of work right now. I told Hernandez there's a very good chance CCDC will make him go to memorial anyways. Right. Right now her charges are at least uh like public intoxication and obstruction, but I think Hernandez is going to swing the uh DUI. He's got camera footage of her pulling up into the parking lot. I I I'm I'm not sure what what his what his plans are, but she definitely needs to go to jail today. Uh, dad's here. They're quote married, but he don't even know her birthday. So, it's trouble in paradise, I guess. But she's literally got a grinder and a burnt bowl in her in her center console. On top of the alcohol we can smell coming from her. I mean, so with that, I mean, yeah, I see like I guess a little bit of like if I were if I was in your shoes, I'd keep the charges simple. You've got you've got a good case on simple charges. >> You can you can pursue a deeper investigation into something deeper, but you've got simple charges. >> It's a really easy call, man. >> The woman was later charged with DUI, DUI, child endangerment, obstruction, and public intoxication.
