these employees thought they could get away with anything at work but their bad decisions caught up to them fast here are five instances when dumb employees get arrested at work number five grandmother steals over $2,000 from employer accused of stealing thousands of dollars worth of household goods the supermarket employee finds herself face Toof face with the police watch the rest of this case unfold tell me what happened okay so um I all on this uh flash drive will have video of the incidents um I identifi the uh the the thefts last week and as I was reviewing to see how far back it went I have all the way until February 1st until April 22nd so it's a collective from not just um today it's colletive of how long from from from April I'm sorry February 1st through April 22nd that's all on uh all on April what April 22nd April what 22nd yes this year correct all right all right so what happens today so today I had a conversation with her um where she admitted me to doing what I have already on here um she's an employee correct okay um and what she would do is she would bring merchandise from the sales for that she intends to purchase brings them over to our s checkout registers M um instead of ringing up all the items she would only ring up some of the items okay the others she would still keep in the bag and place in the shopping cart and then at the end of her shift CU she would do this probably within within 15 to 30 minutes to we shift um she would be with all of the items okay do you have receipt all the items yeah okay all the item that you didn't scan all on here is this right here which you're seeing here so so you put in all the items that was not scanned correct on there on the flash correct so each folder is a date uh the manager explained that they had been compiling evidence for some time and the woman confronted with it had already admitted to the theft and again all of this is in this flashlight okay on there though right this is uh these are the items that were paid for uh what wasn't paid for these are the items that were not indicator which which date and transaction that it corresponds to okay okay so was that was that finally today or was that after and this is just an exile spreadsheet of each one including the loss for each the loss of each of each of each um correct of each um the ones that are blank is either she did pay for all of it or it doesn't correspond to a loss okay and so how did you catch her today well today she came into work okay where she at now in the office following a review of The Evidence the officer approaches the employee for questioning starting with her Miranda rights all right so I'm definitely out the sheriff's office I need to read you something okay I'm required to warn you before you make any statement that you have fallen constitutional rights you have the right to remain silent not answer my questions any statement must be and freely voluntarily given you have the right to the Pres reputation of a lawyer your choice before you make any statement and during any questioning if you cannot afford a lawyer you're entit the presentation of a court important lawyer before you make any statement during any question if at any time dur interview do not wish to answer any questions you are priv to remain silent I can make no threats or promises to induce you to make a statement this will give your own free will any statement can will be used against you in the court of law with these following rights M do you speak to me I I need to say anything do I no I mean I have to look at him I mean with the following rights I just read you understand all the rights you just read so with these rights in mind do you wish to speak to me no and not it's going to be held against me no okay so you don't want to speak to me what am I supposed to say I mean I can't tell you exactly what to say it's just something that'll probably defend yourself I don't I don't know I can't tell you know what to say and just I'm in reference to why I'm here if you want to speak to me further about the reason why I'm here I I'm I can just all all I can say is I'm sorry and I wasn't meaning to hurt anybody I wasn't trying to to do anything you know I was just trying to survive you know and I'm willing to pay back everything you know that that I will do I mean I mean believe it or not I I I I do feel bad for what I did although the woman shows regret the crime is already committed and the consequences remain was that statement to him or to me I'm just I'm just making the statement and you know in general I just so it's your I just got my back against the wall you're 100 okay so you're telling me you're making a statement to him but it's just an an hour statement it's not direct to anyone well I already talked to him I done said that you know I would pay it back I you know I I I just don't know what else to say or do you know I'm scared to death right now okay understand that I am I'm scared to death all right so speaking to me yes or no cuz I can I can take in consideration you didn't give utterance is not a you just you spontaneous UT something I just need like a yes you I want to talk to you no I'm not I need something I mean yeah I'll talk to you but you know I just don't know what to tell you you know I mean I've already you know went through the motions of everything okay uh you reason for such a vast Quant why is it such a vast amount yeah like what is the it's it's it's a lot it's over three two months 3 months the time time frame but from November till now for November I guess it's what he told me so it's prior about what he's telling me what I what have what is going on he told me November so I'm like November December January February March April outside so so all right can you to them Sor can you went outside sure I need a chair all right give mey okay alone in the store security room with two officers the woman begins to open up about her theft all right so are you saying you've been doing this since November well I'm just going by I I don't I don't know tell it's not just it's not it's not on what some is telling me it's what you want to tell me if you're telling me it's been November okay I'm I'm going by what he said he said since November I I don't know when I I don't know I I I really don't know when I actually started y you don't know when you actually started right you know so you know just you know okay so November is when it I guess is when I started it 2023 yeah okay um is there a reason for for you doing this I've had a I've had a rough couple years and you know my husband died my mom died my son died I'm losing my house I lost my uh management role and was making way less money than what I was used to and I had you know I I I just didn't feel like I had a choice you know I mean I didn't know what else to do you know I mean I'm alone down here pretty much you know and I didn't know what else to do so you resorted to in the sense that what were what were you stealing well food for me you know some food survive in a sense yeah in a sense you know and then you know did steal some cat food CU you know I have a couple cat but understand cuz you don't want your cats to be dying in the house and you're trying to survive yourself I understand you know and I don't know what else to do with that you know I mean I I just didn't know what else to do I really didn't know what else to do she continues to justify her crime claiming she has no choice but to steal in order to survive the officers hear her out all right so from what I'm understanding is you're telling me that um you resorted to a crime of stealing food for yourself to survive and for your cast Survivor trials you have no help in in Florida it's just you down here after your husband died and you have death I have my daughter but she's got her own three kids and and stuff like that I can't where's your daughter at you know she lives up there on Forest too you know I can't she she wasn't she's not able to at least uh provide you with any kind of 50 bucks or some groceries nothing like that she's you know she's helped me out a little bit here and there but you know she's got bills to pay too and she got like I said she just had a baby M and she got three kids of her own you know that she got to take care of and I don't want to take care I don't want to take money out of her her pocket and and deprive her the kids you know what I mean I don't want you know I don't want that to happen okay you know so it was like a vicious circle I didn't know what to do what the way to get out I didn't know what to do okay I just really didn't you know I mean I feel bad for what I did you know and if I had I probably wouldn't have done I wouldn't do it over again that's for sure sure MH but have you SE any help from the county you know they tell me I make too much money because you know I Tred to get on food stamps I try to get that no not just food stamps food stamps is a government Lowel I'm talking about like through the county where they can be um shoot uh Food Bank BR get your food get you ready with stuff um just there's I you know I don't have a car to get anywhere you know bring it to you just circumstan they help you they don't want they don't want this it's such a homeless homelessness in Palm Beach county is so large they don't want to add to that so they're going to obviously get the help to people that can help her life story earns her some sympathy from the officers but it doesn't excuse resorting to the theft of over $2,000 worth of household items canned goods and cat food no where to get the help I didn't know how to go get find out about help you know I didn't know I'm never had I've never done this before okay you know I never you know this just as recently started happening I I I I've never done it in the past didn't have it didn't have need to you know yeah I I just I understand trust me understand you sometimes you have you have to you have to do what you have to do in order to I'm 58 years old and I have nobody more or less you know what I mean I mean everybody that was down here with me has died you know my husband died of cancer my mom died of a heart attack you know and I got a house that I can't PID for it's going into foreclosure and I don't even know when I'm going to have to be out of my house until it goes into foreclosure it's already in foreclosure it was supposed to go up for auction last Tuesday and I guess something happened and the auction you know took place but the guy that was buying it I guess couldn't come up with the rest of the money so he defaulted on that okay so you know I don't know if and when I'm going to have to get out of my house you know they can come back at my door and tell me to get out I don't know I'm scared you I'm really really scared okay you know I'm 58 years old and I'm just trying to make it that's all yeah life is s and and I am really sorry that I did it right now everything you know I mean I I don't know following the questioning they lead the 58-year-old to the squad car without handcuffs showing her a measure of decency as they take her to the station I going jail we don't yet likely yeah we we'll see don't I understand but um there's like L of this I get what you're saying but we're working all that out have you heard about the food bank at BO anary no yeah there's a church over there that gives out food this one doesn't open this way I smoke a cigarette sure I am going to go to jail possibly who's it up to huh who's it up to State of Florida we just trying to verify what we can do in reference of this understand that you were stealing for food but the quantity is a felony so in the end the suspect was charged with felony grand theft and was sentenced to 2 years of probation number four newly promoted store manager steals over $10,000 at work getting promoted at work is a big achievement but this man took his new role as manager in a completely different direction choosing to steal from multiple cash registers here's how it all went down [Music] [Music] why I don't have to do an audio recorder it's charging I use it too much it's not true [Music] problems you doing T kind of briefly inform me of what was going on today and in order for me to talk to you I need to read you your right have you ever been arrested before sir all right sir so you have the right to remain silent do you understand that anything you say can be used against you in court do you understand that you have the right to have an attorney present now or at any time during questioning do you understand that yes sir if you cannot afford an attorney one will be appointed for you without cost do you understand that if you talk to me you have the right to stop answering questions or speak to an attorney at any time do you understand that yes sir all right with your uh rights in mind you wish to talk to me today yeah that's fine okay after reading the suspect's Miranda Rights the officer starts questioning him beginning with the motive behind the theft I was notified by Target that a parent over the course of your employment there's a lot of cash registers that were turned up short and that they have video surveillance of you uh folding money in your hand and instead of putting it into money counter you slip it into your pocket yeah is that accurate yes sir okay is there a reason why this was happening are you it was just like Financial hardships um and then it turned into a bad habit that should have subsided long long ago or never even started but yeah that's stem from okay do you happen to have a problem because we do have like we have programs to get people Nothing addictive nothing serious like that just needed to get out of a hole and then it stuck with a bad habit really okay um do you roughly know about how much it's been going on for the past you know almost a year or six months um I believe it was 6 months since I started that's when I bought my house that's when I needed to um find finalize some things that okay yeah okay you got how much money roughly they're they're estimating 10,000 10,000 yeah okay do you think it might be a little bit more than that cuz I know it's about 10,000 only in the last two months two months yeah the last two last uh 30 to maybe 90 30 I would say 30 to 60 days is about just over n Grand well yeah not that I'm aware of like I told them I I when I receed it I I spend it on on like materials and stuff because I'm remodeling my house so okay nothing that I'm aware of okay understandable you married sir any kids just engaged got kids yeah okay how many kids do you have um technically two okay M biological or no okay all right um store security reports that the man was caught pocketing money during multiple shifts over several months stealing at least $10,000 and possibly more within just two months you have anything you like to add if you what I would do is the whole statement form if he wants to well they have a an admission form here can I see that is this your form sir that you uh you signed out if you can read it sorry okay and this is your signature here the statement okay okay let's go I can get a copy of that I'm with that one all right sir well today you you are going to be placed under arrest okay okay you'll be able to bond out of the jail and then from there it's with your attorney speaking with the state's attorney and Target on working out some type of agreement in order for paying back and you can go and see what the charges are going to be okay they could reduce the charges they can drop the charges as long as most likely the money is paid back to Target and Target agrees to accept the money before it goes to trial then they can always dropped the case with the State's Attorney's Office okay okay so that's something you can definitely work out M all right do you have any questions for me no sir no do you have any questions for Target no not that work okay so you are you do understand you are um fired from the store y okay is he trespassed from the store yes okay and you are being trespassed from the store as well okay means you cannot come back to the store property unless you actually speak with somebody from the store and then they lift it but in order for them to lift that they have to contact us because it's going to be documented that you are trespassed okay from just this location or every location this location the suspect listens as officers explain his arrest and Target's trespassing decision but he follows them calmly showing neither remorse nor worry so if you'd like to come back to this target then you make sure you get in touch with management and management has to call us to cancel the trespass yeah okay that's fine can you look at me real quick I need a picture for the trespass all right stand up for me do you well before you do you have anything in your pocket you like to take out do you have I just got keys and a phone and a wallet Key phone wall okay can take it out no uh no knives or anything nothing harmful take off this watch okay we're going to take off this watch okay so that way we have some room and you're not getting cut off circulation okay yeah it doesn't damage your watch thank you yeah place the back of your phets yeah I wait for I got nothing gross in no you just listen in this line of work you you seen it all I just don't put my hands in people's pockets till I got gloves on just walk FR and then I'll hold the door open I grab this property to grab that backpack under the thing where under the bench right there yeah is that your backpack yes that's his backpack too aarm going to go off I go you're good yeah no this ain't cold it's cold right we're going to go back to that second car back there now in handcuffs the officers escort the suspect to the squad car patting him down before transporting him to the station yes it's that truck right there the big one technically we can't come back after the I'll have my fiance do it yeah that's fine here space this fly right in front of that sure got gloves I got grab some yeah I got it so I don't run away or run no I'm not worried about the Running part I'm not worried about the Running part either that is part no no we do a lot of scenarios with tasers and trust me I'm pretty accurate so I doubt that you would to run away from from me at least I don't know about him did you guys get tase I'm fairly fast I'm fairly we know how it feels don't want to T somebody else yeah but if we got you we got you not that bad on you later you guys anything from me nope we're good I'm going to go help thank you all right I take this opportunity to let people know that we make decisions in life that are not great we learn from them and that's the important thing and I hope that regardless of what happens you learn from this today and what you done and consequences that come with doing what you good yeah this one going to me up though I want I was going in the fire service so I don't work out yeah you got to figure it out maybe maybe you can work it out with I hope so but that's what job that I've wanted to do then like this regardless if if it works out if it doesn't work out you'll have a story to tell and just got to make better decisions than you've already made what's in this pocket and probably some earpods with a suspect compliant the officers courteously handle his belongings officers turned their attention to it documenting it as additional evidence so I told Cam that he's been so honest with us right and that I was going to search his wallet I asked him was there any money in here that belonged the target you said just the big bills okay so if you want to continue with that line I can pull out whatever feel free to yeah 00s when is this from this money I don't know it's it's is this from it's not from today it's from previous days okay so how much money is supposed to be in here I don't I don't have is it safe to say that most of this money is from Target most or changed from $5 $100 bills hold that so six 7 eight nine I'm just SE for anybody th000 overall the officers count $1,029 in the man's wallet most of which is stolen money, [Applause] 129 what what are you thinking with this uh I mean he he admitted that most of his money is either change or money from so unfortunately I have to do a ccy to give it back to them no cuz if it's going to go into property at the sheriff's office then it needs a currency form and that has to be signed off by a sergeant yeah literal ultimately the suspect was charged with felony Grand Theft sentenced to 5 years of probation 100 hours of community service in ordered to pay $110,000 in restitution number three employee thinks he can keep getting away with stealing cash from the register up next officers were dispatched to a Tire Kingdom location after a manager called regarding an employee caught stealing during his shifts meet oh so you're Chris told me you weren't here hold on I don't want to let him know oh yeah we had an office up here but um so cash we're we're a larger corporation uh to we have uh stores all over the country so cash management calls down addition manager they called me say hey we got a lot of dis from one store I went through some data I looked at different work orders saw that they only using one specific part can figure it out use your mind um to basically run the money like use someone's car and pay for all the tickets the manager explained that over the past month the company experienced an alarming 50 chargebacks from customers this promoted them to initiate a detailed internal investigation which involved tracking and monitoring every employee in the branch with access to financial transactions the investigation revealed that one employee had been stealing directly from the store's register in fear of legal consequences the employee confessed and returned $133,000 in cash to the store back 135 1300 ,000 oh he gave you back 13,000 correct cuz you don't want to go to jail Cas Cas yeah after taking the manager's statement the officers proceed to question the suspect you got office you got an office hey what's your name sir hey uh we got to have a talk for a second all right me a fav keep your hands out your pocket all right office we talk right all right got okay um yeah go ahead all right so listen before um we talk to you how old are you by the way 23 all right so before we talk to you we're going to um read your rights it just protects you against self-incrimination it's not saying you're guilty or you under arrest but this is Trail anything that I can use as that as one of the officers questions the suspect inside the security room another officer collects evidence from the manager this is but I got the cash that he gave me and then I also have so this is amount cash so far what what we receed back from the bank and within August to November 21th it's 13,000 3445 these are all the tickets had invoiced a render see some actually his name so how did some obtain the cash from the guest who comeing pay for whatever servic and he would be the one to close out basically at the end of the night taking render the invoices that the guest paid with and pay with take someone else's card information which is the same see see this is the same part information for each of these work orders and who are and who are those name we can't even figure out who that is because he manually punch it in and the bank will not offer give us that information of a lawyer of your choice before you make any statements and during any questioning if you cannot afford a lawyer you're entitled to the presence and representation of a court appointed lawyer before you make any statement enduring any questioning if at any time during the interview you do not wish to answer any questions you are privileged to remain silent understand yeah okay so with that being said how long you been working here man I this business I'm not sure not been like less than a year less than a year here did you work at a tire K before this or anything like that no where were you working before this Landscaping Landscaping okay so you've been working here less than a year okay um during that time have you been working have you been working with the register or anything like that yeah yeah do you do a lot of payments you take all the payments that come in or how does that work not all of them but I I'm mostly the one with does it okay and you work what US is there a certain time frame you work when you come in do you have like a specific schedule no all day every day all day every day okay even weekends yeah okay the employee admits to having access to the store's register and also admits to taking the store's money so during the time that you're working you have access to the register cards and all that good stuff yeah what do you mean like like if do you have access to like cards and register and you take payments and everything like that okay all right um You kind of understand where we're here do you have a kind of like a idea on why we're here right now okay why do you think we're here taking money from the tore okay you took physical cash or was it something that along the line of cards or what was it physical cash okay all right so just um you mind yeah no you're good just to just explain to us I mean we're sitting here talking honestly the best key I appreciate that to close the door huh you want to close the door we'll talk so honesty is the best thing and that's the only thing that we can do to fix this at this point all right cuz at the end of the day I don't think you're a bad person we all fall short of times and we all need help at some point and just sometimes we're that desperate that we we stoop to a level that's not our personality right right right and we just makes mistakes right that's all it is okay but we want to write the wrong okay so I just need you to tell me exactly how this happened for our documentation purposes and for us to fix this um didn't to explain to you yeah but we're here talking to you because you're the allegations are against you you understand me and you're sitting here tell us that you did something he can't tell us what you did exactly to the tea because he wasn't there you're here you're the one that did it so you got to be so you got to be the one explain it for us to help your case you understand what I'm saying you get what I'm saying yeah I got understand what I'm saying the officer continues to probe yeah I got all right so let's start from the top of how this happened well we got bought out recently by them then you know the system's old y'all got a notepad or something yeah okay I'm going I'm going to here so say you we you guys got bought out yes you got bought out recently and the system like the employee revealed how his scheme worked he would record customers's credit card details create a large invoice Market is paid and process the charges he would then pocket the cash payment from the customer thinking the fraudulent credit card charges would conceal his cash theft information and then I use that reter Che the cash when you say render what can you kind of explain rendering hey um we put if we say it's um card but I change it to cash sure on in the system yes okay so you'll take a payment and you say it's a card but then you take cash from the person or how does that work so you take cash from the person but you put in the system that was a card yeah okay continue sorry got question does that card ever gets charged card yeah does the card get charged yeah the card get charged so you charge the card and you take the cash no no no I charged they gave me the cash I put in the's card and then I put um somebody else's card that that that was given to us okay gotta okay understood so what happens is he he would um and correct me if I'm wrong so he would say the system was down so they kept people they would write down people's information to charge later correct so they would charge the card do render and he would put it in his paid cash it looks like they paid in card it looks like he paid a card but they paid in cash so he would keep the cash because on paper it looks like it was paid so to the untrained eye on paper on face plate it looks like it's paid correct okay all right and and when did you first start this that I'm not sure how with months years I no months months when's the last time you can remember that the first time you did it other thing I don't remember the officer proceeds to ask his motive behind the crime and this answer will surprise you and what drove you to do this what go hey I'm going to do this what like what made you think about it what was the motive behind it to be honest I don't I don't really remember what I was I was doing I just seeing it and then I saw the opportunity I just did it yeah but why cuz I mean you're you see you're smart you're not dumb you're you're a smart kid to pull this off in this amount you're a smart guy so what at what moment go man you know need some new rims or I need this what made you go I'm going to do this cuz we don't just wake up in the morning and decide we're going to start doing something no I didn't well to be honest I didn't have any plans with with it I mean I gave to I had the money saved up and all that I mean I gave it back but I didn't have any idea to do with it okay so you didn't have any reason you just did it just because yeah I did it just because but I have cuz I I didn't know what to do with um this what what I had okay all right now is there anyone else here that helped you with it no just me just you okay um when's the last time you did it like two months ago two months ago now on average on a 7-Day work week how many times a week were you doing this it would either be buy or weekly or a month I don't one time two times a month how you had to estimate just like two times a month biweekly then I'm not so every other week yeah and how much in total would you do each transaction either be a small amount or a big amount just depends on the and what's the biggest amount you've done um I think like 92,000 okay and what's the smallest amount you've everever done they were like 100 bucks 100 bucks okay and um where did you keep the cash I kept the stash okay had go home house okay though we had only been with the store for a short time less than a year the employees still chose to commit this serious theft and how much in total um they told me 14 but I'm not 100% sure how much did you get back I gave back everything I had you gave back everything you had okay okay all right um you say how long you've been working cuz you say you don't know exactly when to start it right but you said you only been working a couple months what did like if um if I'm correct it'll be it should be February February when it started when you started no not when I started this when I started working here oh so sometimes between between February and October September cuz you said two months ago right sometime in between there this is collective over that time frame right yeah okay all right buddy listen so you're going to be placed under arrest all right for scheme of Def frud and Grand Theft you just stand up you have anything in your pockets can't do this outside airpod right yep 6 one make sure you got nothing no it's all safety safety stuff n swi the legs around ah you can got it say again um I can't so it's not going to be too long the man was arrested and charged with Grand Theft and schemed at AB fraud however just days after his detainment State prosecutors decided to drop all charges likely because the suspect returned the stolen money before his arrest number two popey's employee thinks he can get away stealing at work officers were called to a popey's branch after an employee was caught stealing cash from an unattended register just before closing time what the employee didn't realize was that the entire Act was recorded on the store surveillance cameras watch how the arrest unfolds all right so what's going on huh y want to see the video yeah [Music] start this was last night okay that's him yeah he was looking at the screen to see if anybody cuz we have a big old screen with cameras on it okay and he's in there cooking all right can you email me that video uh yeah okay I'll get all that information to you um before it's done uh can we get your uh you have a license on you name I I mean we can just get your name oh we're going how do you spell that s o n y a98 That's a good phone number for you how much money did he take uh 40 and the manager said he like the first charger okay sir hush but the uh the register came up $40 sure no it was I had actually counted the register and I set the money on the printer and he took that yeah so it was after you counted the register but you guys got him on camera taking the $40 okay all right Bernard and what's his Bernard [Music] [Applause] some type of braids on his head [Music] so the officers head inside the store and waste no time putting the suspect in handcuffs before escorting him out to the parking lot [Music] hey what I'll tell you that in a [Music] second let's walk outside we'll tell you all that in a [Music] second not 4 C I want my name got anything on you he or she I don't know who it [Music] is on the way to the station the man claimed that his boss had agreed to let him take money from the register saying it wouldn't be deducted from his paycheck this left the officer puzzled as it was the boss who had pressed charges against him oh Sonia did Sonia girl that was cuz I know he just said Sonia name so I man that's crazy I got no clue what happened there I just I showed up there just to take you the other guys are the ones investigating it I just barely got to work I ain't even been to work I just got to work at 4:00 I don't think they're saying it happen today and where do I got a probation War for oh see if it says all right says it just says probation violation and it says felony original charge for position and that's that's all all it tells me how long that how long I've been had that uh let's see what the date is on there date of Warrant is June 1st you had that for a little while I may help you hey I got one misdemeanor theft offense and received a sentence of 12 months probation number one man shoplifts in his own job and learns his lesson officers responded to a local gas station after the manager reported an employee shoplifting while on the clock she claimed to have discovered multiple beer bottles behind the building leading her to review the store surveillance footage the video revealed one of the employees stealing various items from the store P hey you call camera was working last night and check him on camera still in a can of scho back here okay still in a couple cans of beer in the was um he's been to jail before he just got out of Jackson County like week and a half maybe two weeks ago okay okay I know he just SP few months in Jackson do you happen to have the security footage from yesterday of him stealing it we'll go we'll go around and get it they a pretty good video uh is there like an office or something that we can take them to to talk to them um this is the office here but in if you go back to the right here then to the left there's a little area that's like our back stop area that has a door where you be spoken to okay youd have probably a little bit more chance of dealing with him in L you would yeah exactly after obtaining the manager statement the officers waste no time confronting the employee identified as Darren what was the name again Darren okay all right we'll go and talk to him go ahead exactly you don't know hey hey Darren Darren can you come talk to us for a second yeah guess we go in theath we just go that back there yeah our little stock room so we're kind of looking into some allegations about when you were working last night maybe taking some items from the store no I took some boiled peanuts we were allowed to take boiled peanuts okay nothing other than boiled peanuts okay but you realize there's cameras in here that show kind of the whole store yeah okay so you don't know anything about taking a a pack of skull or a couple beers and drinking them on the job I didn't drink no beer I can I have to be color coded check the C okay well we have an allegation that you took some skull and a couple beers and drinking them on the job I did take can of skull and I forgot to pay for it I'll go tell CHR okay well we're going to whatever video they have you know they said there on video so we're going to review that and see how they want to handle it and go from there man kind of you took it yesterday yes what your um date of birth and you have a good phone number I don't have a phone right now I have a phone but it's not cut off I mean I I've been out since last Saturday I hadn't been able to putut it on while the employee is being questioned another officer reviews the security footage showing the man taking store items have you ever been in jail before for shop with this where he stole the [ __ ] kind of skull it is and the skull is actually back here behind this thing M cuz it's out of date and we're supposed to be sitting the back so he's just taking himself stff this out of date I guess I don't even know that he paid attention to that he goes up here on the computer to act like he's standing and pushes the receipt button to make these Pap out like Signs it because I make them sign receipts for every they get but he like when I turn this thing around it's clearly a um blanky try to get my camera to get it yep okay I see it in his hand so act like he scaned it and I'm actually going to turn this around so we can watch the screen itself and well it was party to a crime I worked at fridge but I was thought I was clear that cuz it's on camera that I wasn't doing the shoplifting the guy that I knew was in there doing it but they tried to blame me but I didn't do it what time was this last night probably right around my closing uh between 5: and 7: i' back and forth doing things mhm you know stocking PS taking out trash stocked our FR shelves you know I took the can of skull I took I took peanuts because we're allowed to take peanuts okay unless I know I'm not she didn't even mention the peanuts so all we know is I did grab be right I I don't want I mean to just want to let me go I don't want to get back no more trouble I admit first I did it and whatever happens but I don't want to go to jail over up be yeah yeah it seems like something Pretty Petty to go to jail over I just admit to it that they won't let me go then that's punish enough trying to get back on my feet mhm uh you good standing here with him yeah all right I'll go see what they're talking about over there I'll be right back good thing about this with the man confessing to the theft the officers now focus on wrapping up the investigation he Springs it up and deletes it and cancels the sale cancels it he can't he runs it up deletes it then cancels the whole sale yeah so you can see on here that he Rings it up cancels it and then he presses the button for the receipt to come out when it's blank and that's for what the the skull yeah he he admitted to taking the skull he said he forgot to pay for it no he very clearly but then he said he allowed to take then end he admitted to taking the beer he did you have the video of him taking beer as well keep knock yeah you can see it on there he scans it cancels it and you even see on on the left side over here like where he like this right here like as you're watching the screen my receipt that will show him like pulling it up and then yeah so you did take alcohol so hopefully um we'll see what she says now you edding to it um um go from there what the employee reveals next will surprise you I mean I got out Saturday was a week or two ago and I ain't had a what' you go in for probation okay what was you on probation for uh that one was suspended license and that party to a crime Stu and this was in Jackson County yeah okay ever been arrested in Cart County uh yeah about 3 years ago how long you been working here I was working here when I got a lot arrested I called the police here on a guy that was trying to buy beer and I wouldn't let him because he was intoxicated and he made terroristic threats towards me and I called him up here and they run and I had a warrant I didn't know about for probation I was on non reporting and they sold out the Jackson count probations to a private firm so I just assumed that I was non reporting that I didn't know what to do left a message never heard back and I totally forgot about it so the warant was like 2 years old yeah I just got out back from that was this a six-pack you took no just a can you only took one yeah so that back there stocking them and saw here set it over there so you took one out of the sixpack no I took a one like the tall uhhuh Steel Reserve yeah just so you took one out out one of these drawers like or refrigerators a pack of a pack of dip and um peanuts and the peanuts you said cheap are free okay he canceled it pressed the receipt button to like just for blank like just blank paper and then so it made him look like it like he did it but he took out a date like from the corner over there like he went way over the corner and reached behind it and got some in the back so I assume he's fired now oh yeah okay are y'all going to B him um yes please how long do you want to B um at least okay that's what I do with all them gotcha with a man revealing his criminal record and a recent probation violation his situation goes from bad to worse the employer also informs the officers that she wants to press charges that's before like you know you have to tell him I'd probably tell him that he's fired too kind of go from there go 1095 and uh if you find that I'll be right back and I'm going to record a couple of them on my phone and then for it so I mean this is all less than five bucks wor of stuff I can just well see the thing is and georia law it's a dep still so um the way it is is it it's if the owner or the or whoever is um deciding to press charges they are the ones who decide to press charges um so if she wants a price charges for you taking items then unfortunately she wants to price charges and then we'll have to you have to go to jail for that so or she can bar you um but you be that if you be in bar that means you will lose your job too so we'll see what she decides to do did you kind of did you know that this was happening no I didn't know this stupid yeah I'm facing eviction this has nothing to do with y'all know but so I've been stressed out and no money it's [Music] just yeah you good yeah she going to and check search him right here we'll take that off of them if you can front and I to the crystal yeah she's going to have to come speak with she got a couple things to tell you before we go to before taking the man to the station the officers allow him to speak with his employer unfortunately for him she makes it clear that she's done giving him Second Chances um in a few minutes when we walk out if you want to follow us out and we'll just do the barring and stuff out there okay so all right I'll put your dip back in your PFF in these front pockets and then we we we're going to put it in the bag and bag all right that's too gas I I think sixpack will do thank you you you are fir but I gave you a chance I held your job while you you know what I'm going I know know that that's that to do with me I'm going to lose everything over's your own choices you got to stand up for your own choices yeah just a second you're going to Bar him let him know Mak you know my room I still have a the one beer and I was told to do my job [Music] um he's dipping Keys just keys and dip yeah okay that's fine leave it on apart from pressing charges the manager also issues a trespass order against the man barring him from the store um you fired him and then it was that those items there did he take the whole sixpack or was it um that's what he was refilling his cup with in the back oh so you don't you can't okay the bottles back there this morning okay and then I started watching the videos and watching him he was taking a cut back there full up no I sto yesterday okay so gotta how long has he been working here all together or is it all together he's been here eight or n months okay and then how there was like a Hiatus between him going to Jackson County and then coming back he has been back um about have three weeks that he was gone how how many months do he gone um he was gone 90 days but it's not the 90 days where you get 45 and it wasn't straight 90 some kind of work thing five months he got locked up here he just got out we yeah that's what he was saying which he got loed up in June yeah and just got it okay so he hasn't been back for too long just about a week and a half week and a half okay um you know where he stays I was just wondering he probably does he's pretty honest about it like they yeah yeah for uh for theft so um he said to give her call so appreciate it thank you did you get a case number would you would you like one okay you got a case case card yeah if you want to give it to Miss Crystal here's the case number um if you do choose to do so within 3 to five business days you can go to the um department off electri and get a cop report that's if you choose to do so or if the he wants to all right SS good thank you yep no problem you have a good
