her pocket she take them out swipes it put the put the demo in cash cash it out Clos the jaw moves on that's how she she does it every time so between between between her transactions so it doesn't look that suspicious but she she always make it seem like there's a customer in front of her but she's cash cashing it out and then putting the gift card in her pocket but what the um gift card where's that come from Walmart yeah we have Walmart gift card on the register okay that we have for customers so she's taking the customer money and put it on the gift card she's taking Walmart money putting on the gift card um how but you got that's part I don't understand you got to explain that part to so so when you when you when someone lows a gift card say I go to low a gift card I got to give you money to put in the draw so if nobody's giving her money and she's keeping the card for herself and she's not putting money in the draw so that means she's using warmart money to load the the gift cards Lo the gift C to load the gift cards to take them home okay um what type of cards are they there Walmart gift card regular Walmart gift card specific for Walmart so I'm saying is it like Visa or like it's it's like it says oneart gift cards on it no they're not Visa gift card you can only use it at shopping cart they shopping carts those you can only use okay obviously y'all got on video we we have video we have the transactions on video we have the receipt that pops up for that for that time frame and everything okay let me make a quick phone call cuz I want to make sure I don't use the wrong statute I'm going call my fraud detective so yeah the officers read the suspect's Miranda Rights any statement you make must be freely and voluntary giving you understand that yes make a statement this must be of your own free will you understand that yes okay so and how long have you been working here at Walmart um here this one couple month couple months What's um like what bathroom he said to okay the suspect requests to go to the bathroom but unfortunately for her there are no female officers present at the scene so she'll have to wait do I have to go on those huh I fe yeah um and so the officers continue with the interrogation all right you going to have to hold it for a while hold for a little while okay um you yeah huh I trying to hold it okay um so when you work at Walmart do they give you any type of credit cards uh employee discount cards or anything I'm playing this SP card okay um man how does that look what do you mean by that does have your ID on it does it like a Visa no and when you use that car is it something that you load money on to no okay so it's specifically just a car that has a a code on it that allows you to get some type of discount okay now the reason I had to read you your Miranda because you're accused of taking money from Walmart and loading them on to gift cards can you tell me about that yeah I did that I did that a couple time maybe three four times okay and how exactly did you do it what was it what was the method that she use I just took all my gift C and I Swip it put and then I didn't put any money in the car okay did you um did you use the card at all the Walmart card yeah yeah I used it and what items were you buying with it you buy with it uh F stuff how long how long would you say that you you said a couple times so in in a ballpark how many times like physically how many different days would you say you did that um four five four or five and when was your first time doing it when I don't remember the DAT but it was like a guesstimate we're in March right now was the first time maybe yeah maybe this month this month all right and when you were loading these cards how much money were you putting on them at a time um 200 100 management later revealed that the employee stole over $500 worth of gift cards is there any particular reason you had to do it that way is it you going what are you going through um what what caused you to do that on a gift card I just needed the money to buy food for myself and then I didn't have money so and I was not going to get paid yet that's why okay all right and did you when you were doing it did you know that that was something that you were not supposed to be doing basically yeah what is it what do you mean basically yeah okay so were you when you loaded the cards were you the cashier at the time yes so you're the cashier and I like to repeat stuff just to make sure I'm not not putting words in your mouth and that I'm completely understanding what you're telling me so you're telling me that you the cashier you took a Walmart gift card you loaded it with cash in your position as a cashier yeah and when you loaded it with cash that card had money that you could spend on it yes and the cash that was supposed to go into the drawer you didn't deposit in there so at no point in time did you you didn't go into your pocket take your cash out and put in the draw no and essentially that car was free money that you were taking from Walmart yeah okay all right the suspect was later charged with schemed to defraud and Grand Theft number one cashier tries to play innocent but she's caught on cam police were called to a supermarket after a call about a cashier stealing over $500 when they arrive the officers immediately confront the suspect identified as Holly hold on time out I got to unlock come on here real [Music] [Music] quick all right d so uh they got you on camera basically taking money from the register putting in your pocket money where yeah I got you on camera nothing would you be able to empty out your [Music] pockets and here and my money okay can you take that out yeah yes sir TR see it really quick you you put in unless she has a PR or something I don't know this is a video of the woman caught in the act pocketing cash while on duty she took she took one 2354 she took one at 9:45 this morning this is from the prior days okay I have my own money okay well I mean it's on camera can I see for myself e e it's clear Holly has done it several times e e I'm going to show you the picture just to show there's a camera like literally right I know I know that of course so here's the times that I guess you were taking it uh the other days right the other days okay I can't see nothing I see me putting taking money out and this that's my sir seeing the evidence against her the realization sets in all right so I'm going to have her real quick okay looking looking for something so you're going to listen to what this gentleman is going to tell you to do now okay right now you're at work what I'm going to need you to do is uh write statement about why you have this money and explain to us what has happened on these previous days of how how can I know what happened if I'm it look like I'm taking money out the I'm just letting you know it's all in video okay so I need you to write a statement about what is happening yeah with this money that we have missing from your registers you been okay what do I I'm confused you right I hear him I hear him okay now y'all going to make me yeah I'm
