These shoplifterss thought they could hide their lies behind excuses, but every word they said only made the situation worse. Here are five cases when shoplifterss realize they've been caught in 4K. Number five, serial shoplifters finally get caught. But they're doing more than just stealing. On September 4th, 2025, officers were called to a target after reports came in about a woman trying to steal merchandise. With warnings that the two suspects might be armed, police wasted no time locking down the scene. This is how it unfolded. >> We're going to contact somebody over here. >> Stop. Put your hands up. Your hands up. >> Look at me. Hands away from you. Keep them up. Keep them up on your back. No. No. Okay. >> Not a baby. Correct. >> No. >> We just want to make sure there's no child, no children involved. >> Okay. >> Last incidents we had with you guys, you guys had a weapon. Where is it at? >> I don't have a weapon. >> I never had an incident with you guys. >> Not with us. If there's an incident, we know who you guys are. >> I'm going to talk to you in just a second. Okay. Right now, Target's going to retrieve their property. I'm going to place over here. Then I'll talk to you. >> Okay. put over here. >> Appreciate you. >> We appreciate that. >> Everywhere you go, there's cameras, right? Yeah. >> They can see exactly what you're doing. Not only that, but they recognize you that you're This is not your first time. >> Okay. >> Right. You can wear your sunglasses, your mask. That makes you stand out even more. >> I don't have teeth. That's why I wear a mask. >> You don't have what? >> Teeth. >> Teeth? >> Yeah. I just got them removed. So, >> okay. Well, regardless of the reason. >> Yeah. >> Okay. Uh, and here you are. And now we're here. Can you tell me what happened in there? >> We were being dumb. >> Okay. What do you mean by that? >> Taking stuff. >> Taking stuff. Now that stuff that you were taking, what do you do with it? >> I use it. >> Use it. >> Yeah. >> How? >> For my kids. My house. >> Okay. I'm just asking a lot of people come boo stuff and they go sell it. >> Is that situation? >> No. >> Now, who is that again? >> My sister. >> Your sister? What's your sister's name? >> April. >> April. >> Yep. >> The masks and odd eyewear raise immediate red flags, but what's worse is that officers already recognize them. After all, this isn't their first time being caught. 1994. The reason I know that is because again, you've been shoplifterss. Repeat shoplifters. This is not the only time they recognize you and they've had incidents with you. Now, I want to ask you about another incident. I You probably saw yourself on TV or something. March 19, a few months ago at the Dollar General, you're wearing exactly the same glasses. You're wearing exactly the mask coverings or whatever. Nowadays, people use it only to cover their faces, to cover their criminal activity. What happened? You got shoplifted from that Dollar General. The the I spoke to the manager. I saw a video. >> Um I don't even remember. >> You don't remember? Cuz >> the employees definitely remember what you did >> and what you told them. >> What did I say? >> Okay. You don't remember pulling a gun on on them? >> No. >> Okay. Yeah. You're not going to remember. Or was that your sister? Cuz you guys getting the same charge. You're gonna get charged with the same crime. Even though she didn't pull the gun, she's getting charged with the same crime. Unless she's the one that did it and you didn't. >> I don't I don't think we pulled a gun on anybody ever. I don't I remember we got my sister did take some chips. >> Yeah. And actually, that's that's exactly what they told me. >> Yeah. And then she uh yelled at the lady behind the counter. She went behind the counter and uh some guy came out running after us and calling us saying he's going to us up and >> so he didn't tell me that and that's why I want to document your side of the story. You know what I'm saying? So she takes chips behind the counter. >> Yeah, cuz we went >> the guy comes out which is the employee. >> Yeah. We tried to pay for them and then she grabbed them from us and she was like, "Nope, you guys got to get out of here." >> Mhm. >> And then uh Yeah. So we left and the guy came out running after us saying he's going to us up. We're dumb is broke. >> When it comes to the firearm allegation, the suspect doesn't stay quiet. Here's her explanation. >> But no gun was pulled because we don't have firearms. >> Okay. Did you tell him this is not worth your life? >> No. >> Okay. >> No, but I said that he I said he's a cuz why is he yelling at some girls? >> Something happened that he just backed up now. Why is that? >> Cuz I told him that I would have my boyfriend come up and chips. I told him it was chips. Like this is stupid. >> And he was like, "You're right. You're right." Like, >> okay. Again, I already knew your name, but you know, we these guys know who you are. Maybe not by name, but they you definitely remember you doing this stuff. And that's exactly why they call us. And once we come out here and we see you, we're like, "Oh, I know where this person I've seen this person before." You and your sister. >> Okay. First of all, I just want to apologize. >> Apologize for >> this for doing this. I mean, this >> Okay. And that's what I I was going to say. Anywhere you go is what? There's cameras, right? >> Yeah. >> Anywhere. >> Yeah. >> Anywhere you go, there's cameras. >> All right. So, when they Not only that, >> you a lot of people shoplift every day. Then they get away with it. They come back and like, "Hey, we know this person. We know these girls. Hey, please. These girls are here again and they're repeat shoplifterss, >> right? >> Okay. So, and now here we are. Can you tell me what happened in there? >> Uh, okay. So, we went in, our intentions were to go in and get some Pampers for her kids and um some other stuff, and I wanted to pay for it. I can't afford it. I mean, I thought my check was going to come in sooner. It didn't. >> And so, we decided to put it in her uh stroller. >> Mhm. So, couldn't afford it. decided just put it in the store. >> Yeah. >> I mean, like I was telling Mr. Garcia here that I mean, we've tried asking for help and resources and nobody wants to help us. >> Yeah. Well, you know, to that uh everybody's had hard times. I've had them, but and I just don't see the the justification of doing not only that, but over and over. >> Now that she's been caught, she's full of regret and justification. But doing it more than once shows it wasn't accidental. >> I I agree. I know it's pathetic and it's it's stupid and >> I definitely will be the last time we'll ever do this stupid. >> Okay, here's >> the thing that >> all the other stores once we put your name out there, your photo out there, they're like, "Yeah, she hit us over here." "Yeah, she hit us over here." Uh you know the they're not new. This is 2 years old. Uh the shoplifting statues once you reach a certain amount, that's organized retail crime. That's a secondderee felony. >> Wow. If you still have misdemeanor in Farmington, misdemeanor in Las Cruises, we can combine those into a felony >> because it's New Mexico. Correct. >> So again, there's video everywhere. Right. >> Right. >> Now, here's a question >> cuz this is not your first time. Right. >> I agree. >> A few months ago, March 19, Dollar General, >> what happened that day? >> Oh, see that was a whole different situation right there. We went we went to >> pay and that's a whole different serious crime that's being investigated, >> right? and she uh she acted crazy. She didn't want to let me pay for the trips. I put money down and she took my money but didn't let me keep my chips. So, I went to grab my chips. >> You put down money? >> Yeah. >> Okay. You see that information I didn't have? So, that's why I'm trying to get the >> Oh, yeah. Cuz I went there to buy all those chips cuz those are my favorite trips. And you mean we didn't go in there. We didn't try to steal anything. And we didn't go in there. >> You didn't conceal anything inside your purse. >> No, I didn't. I didn't conceal anything inside my purse. I swear on my kids. I did not. >> Videos. >> Videos. I know. I promise you. >> There's videos. So when you say that it's >> Yeah. No, I bought I grabbed all the chips and I took them to the counter. >> Did your sister conceal it inside the purse? Who was it? >> Cuz what the weapon was my sister. >> The weapon? >> Yeah. >> And that's Well, I was starting from forward backwards, right? >> So once once you guys go outside, what happened? >> So we go out there and the guy comes out, he's like, "You guys are worthless." >> See, I spoke to him and he didn't he didn't tell me he spoke to you that way. >> Yeah. Oh, yeah. I'm like, I hope there's audio because you guys could pull that and listen to it cuz he definitely did say that. He said, "You guys are FNBs. You guys are worthless." Uh, so my sister's like, "You like, yeah." So I was like, "Yeah." So don't talk to me. I'm like, "She took my money, so I took my chips." >> The woman tries one more time to downplay a role, but the officer quickly sets the record straight and makes it clear this wasn't a minor issue. >> She wants to keep my money, then I'm going to keep my chips. Like blank period. I honestly didn't know she was going to pull out her weapon. I didn't. >> Okay. Well, a gun being pulled when uh during a shoplifting, that's aggravated shoplifting. Third degree felony. >> He took my money or she took my money. Not him. She did. >> Uhhuh. >> He came from the back cuz he just heard the commotion. >> I honestly I didn't know she was going to pull the weapon. I didn't know. >> Okay. >> Oh, you like going to my kids. >> Yeah. Uh >> I didn't pull out the gun. >> Okay. Well, if you're if it wasn't you, then who was it? >> It was my sister. Mhm. >> Oh my god, I'm freaking I can't breathe. >> Relax. I don't know what they're going to do, but you know, there's been bond reform, so they've been releasing people once you get booked. I I'm not promising you anything. >> I'm going to go speak to my supervisor. I'll be right back. >> They're also repeat subjects for us. They observe empty with no merchandise. They made various selections, cosmetics, infants, grocery, toys. Um they observe concealing the items to the stroller. Um they then made their way to the front of the store. They skip scanned. They only scanned four grocery items. >> In the end, the woman was charged with trespassing, felony shoplifting, and conspiracy to commit a felony. Number four. You know it's bad when the police already know you by name. It was September 26th, 2024 when officers were called to yet another Walmart. This time for a woman allegedly caught shoplifting on the spot. Loss prevention kept her detained until officers could take over. Here's what happened next. >> Hi. >> Oh, what up? >> Did you tell them where you were yet? >> No. >> Okay. Tom 15. >> Our suspect will be Jana. Stand by on birthday. Hey, when were you born, Jana? Uh, >> it's okay. I mean, >> y'all, >> she's not going to be her birthday, but she is in local if we can just check her. What' you say? >> Y'all can look me up in the system. That's the only way you're going to get anything. >> Well, I already got you. You're a pretty recognizable person. Um, all right. >> Then why ask me for my birthday if I'm already in the system? >> Well, it makes it easier. What happened today? >> I stole some food. That's what happened. >> What' you steal? >> Food. >> What? Like what specifically? food. The kind that you eat. >> Oh, okay. [Music] All right. You guys got You guys want to pursue charges and stuff? >> Yes. >> How much is it? >> Well, it's a lot more than just food. So, the clothes she's wearing are ours. >> And then we didn't even want to we didn't feel comfortable going through the cuz that cart out there is hers. >> I bet these were normal. actually had the same type of clothes at their mall. >> It's more of our stuff in there. We didn't feel comfortable going in >> or urine or something. >> What's up? >> No, the clothes that were already in my bag, those were already mine to begin with. >> Hello. >> I am homeless. That's why they smell. >> Yeah. All right. >> So, those clothes that were already in there is because I just started my period. So, that's why there's blood on there. >> Yeah. So all those other clothes in there, those are mine. >> All right. And the clothes you have on right now are from here. >> From normal. Yes. >> From normal Walmart or here? >> Normal. I don't know how many how many times I have to repeat myself. Normal. Normal. Normal. >> Uh yeah, she's meeting with somebody. >> She's what? >> She's meeting with somebody. >> Okay. >> The woman's no stranger to these officers. And with her record, the decision to arrest her comes quickly. What spares her a felony charge this time is the total value of what she tried to take. >> So you guys got video and stuff for taking the stuff today? >> Yeah. >> Do you know how much approximately it would be? >> Um I mean it should be under >> Yeah. Under 300. >> Okay. You uh >> you don't I mean if you guys aren't super concerned with the bloody clothes, we aren't either. >> Yeah. No, that's fine. But I need the clothes back this year. >> Okay. >> So, she came in wearing the Jack whatever out costume or pajamas or whatever that are on the top of the car. >> Okay. >> Yes. I got off the bus and I changed. >> Oh, okay. [Music] >> Retail theft. Those clothes are stolen. There's some stolen items here >> wearing. Yeah. Yeah, we did. >> So, we got to get her out of those clothes and back into those clothes cuz those are her clothes. Probably stolen, too. But at least you came in here with them. >> Yeah. [Music] >> The costume has my bus pass in it. >> So, that was already mine. >> What' you say? >> There's a bus pass in the costume I came in with >> and pocket. So, that was already mine. >> The bus pass >> and the costume I came in wearing. >> Okay. That's why there's a board on it and that's why there's my bus passing. >> Dude, did you have like a switcher or anything? >> Yes, I just told you. I don't know how many times I repeat myself. All those >> with us. >> Yeah, >> because I keep you have to repeat myself. >> All right, stand up. Stand up. Stand up. I'm repeating myself now. You see how that works? Stand up, Jana. >> For what? Y'all >> being arrested for retail theft. Am I am I actually getting locked? Can you pull my strap up cuz I feel naked without that on? >> There you go. >> Thank you. >> Tom 151 custody. >> What she says next makes it clear that she's not taking this seriously at all. To her, all of this is just a minor inconvenience and not a real threat to her record. [Music] Am I actually getting locked up or is this just going to be a booking again? >> Just a booking probably. It's how it goes now. >> Um you're going to be banned from here. >> Okay. >> We'll take you to jail. Get you a citation. >> That How long is that going to take? >> An hour. >> Okay. Y'all always say an hour, but it ends up being two. >> Maybe two. Maybe two and a half. I don't know. Steal it. We'll take her out here. >> Is that yours? Is it stolen? Is yours yours? >> Yes. >> Okay. Come on. Come with me. >> Why would I be on it if it wasn't mine? >> I don't know >> exactly. >> All right. Bet. Bet, dude. >> No, we're on it, Bernie. We're on it. >> I did, but then she went to go meet with somebody. Uh, >> yeah. Somebody wanted to talk to her. Here, go in front of this car. I like that spot. >> All right. >> What' you say? >> Not really. You will be able to tell. >> What's your name again? >> Janiah Day. >> Again, it's just a spreadsheet. So, what would be in there? >> Yeah. J an N and then day D A Y. Okay, I checked the box. She ain't got no money. All right, I'm going to go get their stuff. >> Uh >> oh, like meeting with command. >> Yeah, somebody wanted to. >> It's standard procedure, but for good reason. If anything turns up at the jail, it's an automatic felony. And so with that, the officer does the pat down twice before the ride. Unlock. It's >> unlocked. You should be good. >> All right. >> I don't know why you're checking something that's not >> What is that? >> Things can be hidden in this. >> Not really. >> Oh, you you will be able to tell if there's something hidden in here. >> What's her name again? >> Again, it's just a n something. Yeah. J and J A Y. Okay, I checked the same. >> Policy says twice. >> No, you you already checked it like five different times. It doesn't in there. >> It was him and then me. That's twice. All right, let's go ahead and sit down. I don't know why you're mad at us like we did something. because I just have to repeat myself and keep having to tell you guys that >> quit committing crimes and then you wouldn't have to deal with us. >> You know what I mean? So don't have an attitude with us. >> That's not how that goes around. Yeah. [Music] >> You changing my shorts and that gray hoodie I had. Uh, we're not gonna change right now just because we have no female officers on. Uh, >> I meant when I get there. I didn't mean like right now. >> Yeah, you can ask the like jailers if they able to let you change. Okay. >> Okay. Cuz it is kind of hot. >> Yeah. Did you want to do the seat belt again? >> Yeah. I don't want the seat belt on me. >> Okay. Well, we're going to put it back on you. >> And just before the drive to the station, she stirs up one more round of trouble for the officers. >> I'm putting her seat belt back on. Do something. So, I'm going to put her seat belt back on. >> She unbuckled it. >> Yeah. >> Why did you unbuckle your seatelt? >> I didn't want to open it. >> We have to have it on. >> Why? >> Well, because it's for safety. Yeah. You got to wear a seat belt when you're in a vehicle. [Music] So if we got here a good time more people to come in. You're first in line. >> So if I'm first in line, it might take less than an hour to get me out of here. >> Hopefully. Unfortunately, we come in and then we're kind of on their time cuz they're doing their thing. All we do is bring people and whenever they can, they'll come and grab you and start processing you. We saw that car pull out ahead of us. So, I mean, they just pulled somebody back. Could slow them down a little bit. >> In the end, she was charged with retail theft, and officers made it clear she's now officially trespassed from the property. Number three, serial shoplifter pushes her luck and found out the hard way that stealing doesn't pay. It gets you in cups. In our next case, on August 29th, 2025, officers in Hoboken, New Jersey were called to a shopright after a woman previously caught on camera stealing was spotted inside. Though she'd gotten away before, this time would be different. Here's how. >> All right. So torpedo >> not yet >> torpedo finder shoplifted from us before but today she came at 3:11 p.m. [Music] She um went straight to aisle 20 where she selected and concealed pet food and she also conceal seafood inside of a personal cart. Uh then towards the end she also concealed some coal cuts. Then she went to the produce department and at um 3:24 p.m. she went to register 6 and only paid for one strawberry. Then she exited the store without paying for uh right here 11060. >> Can you just the footage? Thank you. here. >> Yeah. >> Wait, do you live in? >> No. >> Yeah. >> I think her daughter's in the vestibial is right here. Her daughter. >> How old? >> She's How much? 14. >> 14. She's down there right now. >> No. >> Where's your daughter? She left. >> You came for her? Yeah, just cleaning up. >> She has absolutely my daughter. She's not It's I swear. And not my not is a mom, but you will never see her doing anything like that. And she has I Please, >> I got you. >> Yeah. She never ever ever I didn't even She didn't even hold the card. It's only me holding the card. >> See the strawberries that she holds? That's the strawberry she paid for. >> It doesn't take long for officers to step in. and even less time to bring out the cuffs. The cameras caught everything and management was already well aware of her history. >> You want to sign? >> Yeah. >> You've been arrested before? >> No. >> Never. >> New York. Sorry. Sorry. New York. Yes. >> 37125. >> That's my phone. who wants to >> move. He's just going to check and pay for too. >> She pay for this stuff. >> Not the phone cuts. Wait for that over there. >> That the cold cut is yours. >> Wait for that over there. >> What? You came in with this >> my Yeah, you could check that if you seen me put the cold cuts in there. >> Want to check this cut is you pay for this? >> No, I only pay not the lotion either. Yeah. All need strawberries. Okay. That's mine. That's fine. Yeah. Half a half. I mean, I don't want to take the strawberry paper. No, >> I know, but not be nasty. I mean, we're not >> I owe them people. I mean, way more. So, I mean, that's up to you. You don't want to tell them >> at this point. Officers just need to collect her things. She may try to explain it away, but the consequences are already in motion. >> Um, that's hers. That's ours. Yeah, >> this is yours. >> Oh, that's ours. >> Oh, it is. >> Yeah, it is. >> Oh, okay. Oh, I'm sorry. I thought you said the opposite. My fault. >> That's the 308. >> The first she's all she paid. >> Yeah, but >> she's the one she go. I'm sorry. >> Now, if I can keep the N. I don't want to see me though. I owe you guys so much more. Sorry. >> Um, not sure if you make this included. It's obviously not included on that receipt. >> Just give us a press. second receipt. All right. >> Yeah, please. Um, >> this is the first receipt or No, >> I have the first. >> Oh, okay. >> For our copy, >> we'll wait for you. I have so many share that though. >> Yeah, that's funny. Yeah. [Music] I am 2420. Oh yeah, got you. >> 37, can we have a case number, please? >> With everything ready, the officers take the final paperwork from the staff. They later identified the suspect as Renee Blass, man. >> How's it going, guys? I think you see that. It was a little weird, right? To open. >> Yeah. >> I have to fix it, right? Yep. Oh, >> got it. I think so. Okay. >> Oh, this one stay. >> Yep. Just for short. >> Okay. 137. Transporting one female 1025 to HQ. I'll give you some mileage in a second. It's 113 42.6. >> Um, we'll talk about the other things. You know what I'm talking about, right? What makes this case more troubling is that the suspect committed the theft right in front of her own daughter without regard for the fact that she's still a minor. As much as they wanted to get her statement, by the time the officers arrived, the suspect's daughter had already left the store. I'm going to check back real quick. [Music] Got it. Yep. [Applause] [Music] Just a little fine. >> Yep. >> Is there a male in here? >> He's in the cell. You have a male or female? >> Female. Come on. >> Just you guys know that cameras are on. >> Yep. Go ahead. [Music] >> You staying in my uncuff. You're just going to put your hand on the wall. [Applause] >> We had to put you in here. >> Yep. >> Take a seat. >> Take a seat. [Music] This case ends with a woman being booked and processed for shoplifting. She was also released pending a court date. Number two, entitled woman thinks that she isn't required to pay. On October 20th, 2024, officers responded to a Dollar General after a woman was reported to have stolen food and other items. Though the suspect had cleared the doors, she didn't get far. Once the officers spotted her, they moved in with no doubt that she was the one. >> Which one? >> The lady. >> Which one? >> Hey, what's up? >> The mac and cheese that she's eating. She walked out of the store without paying for it. >> Um, she assaulted me and I left cuz she tried to assault me. It was active aggression. All right. Is there anything of this we need to know about? >> I was like, we got to get this off of her. Excuse me. >> All right. >> We'll take the knife in a second. Let's get it loaded up. >> You'll take care of that. I'll get her all loaded up. Wait, Liz, just do a quick pat down. >> Anything on you we need to know about? >> Ma'am. Ma'am. >> Okay. >> Anything on you we need to know about? Any knives? Anything like that? Anything sharp? >> Good. Now we all going to go through. Thank you. >> Yes. Thank you. >> Thank you. >> Thank you. >> Yes. And they are too. >> Thank you. As I walk with God, I fear no evil. You guys are As I walk with God, I fear no evil. I got three months, you guys have >> I got three for a dollar, you guys have yours. If they cut me, they would cut them. >> Thank you. That's fine. >> Thank you. >> A crowd is gathered outside the store and tensions are rising with unsolicited remarks aimed at both the officers and the suspect. Fortunately, she's at least not physically resisting. [Applause] >> Thank you. >> Is there anything inside of your hat? >> Anything inside of the hat? >> No. No hat. [Music] I'm trying to >> we going this way. >> I'll grab it all up. Whoa. Stop. >> I'm sorry. I'm sorry. Let's go. Come on. Let's go. >> Whoa. >> Tell you where to go. You don't tell us where to go. >> Ma'am, how about that? >> Thank you. >> You want to load on this side? Is she a researcher? >> Yeah, that's funny. >> All right, let me grab her stuff. We may throw it in the back. >> Yeah, let me just go through it. >> Yeah, that water. [Music] >> I'm just go through it. Let me just go through it. Make sure everything's good in it. While the suspect waits in the cruiser, one officer returns to the store to get a full statement from the loss prevention team and detail how the incident was caught. >> Here I'm located >> cuz it happened at my register. >> So what happened? >> Okay, she comes in go shopping. I never have a problem with this girl. Like what? >> Next thing I know, she's like, "Where's your where's your I was like, I'm assuming she's talking about >> this to check the price." Cuz that's how we refer that, you know. >> Mhm. >> Well, the next thing I know, she's like, "You're sick. You're sick. You're sick. I'm not You're not touching my stuff. You're sick." And she goes, "Reach over my register." And I block her. >> And now if she wants to call that assault, so be it. Don't reach over my register. >> That's not No salt. >> And then what happened? >> And then she proceeds to walk out the store. I was like, "If you walk out that store, I'm calling the police. You're going to go to jail for shoplifting." >> Okay. Cuz she had the chips. >> Cuz she had the chips. >> Okay. And she was going to pay for them >> or she was at least at the register asking for the gun >> and then saying something about your sick and >> Yeah. >> Then she just took them and walked out. >> Pretty much. This is her. The line was never really that long. >> She's one person. >> Yeah. >> I was helping this lady right here because Robera had an issue with um the digital coupon stay. >> She was the only one there. >> But when when I got done with her, I grabbed I told her to come on. I I'll wait on you. You know, >> you did it on the other one. >> Yeah. I'm on the far side over there by the way. >> I think you have a better view. >> This is the only camera that shows that area besides the one that directly over my >> Yeah, let me see that one. You sure are. >> You sure are. >> We're not the ones that press charges. They are. >> Yeah, you'll be just fine. I'm going to transfer you to another car. >> The primary officer to take you to jail. >> Sure are. >> Shoplifting. From the cruiser to booking, she has no shortage of things to say, offering excuses, explanations, and everything in between. >> Oh, did she know? >> Okay. >> All right. Well, the officer is doing the >> Yeah. You want the next car? We go to the next car. Okay. Awesome. Excuse me. Okay. Where do you want me to go? >> Thank you. Where we going? >> Going straight ahead. >> You got to speak. Okay, we're going straight ahead. Can you not hold me so roughly, please? Thank you. Thank you. We're going to a different car. Awesome. >> You want side? >> On the other side. Awesome. Thank you. Thank you. No problem. Okay. Do we go this way? All right. No answer. Thank you. I don't understand. I can't understand. Okay. Um, this is too small. This is smaller than the other one. How do I >> It's a cop car. Get in. >> Yeah. I don't understand. >> You'll figure it out. You just sit sideways. >> Okay. Perfect. >> Thank you. >> Can I grab a >> Bye. Hold it up. >> Yeah. Go ahead. >> Thank you. I can't even fit in there. Thank you. Thank you. [Music] Yeah, sure. Ow. See, it's hurting. Thank you. Very good. Thank you. Let me help you out. Bye. >> Thank you. Bye. Thank you. She hears the Miranda writes, but it's obvious she's not taking them to heart. The suspect's attitude makes that clear. >> Okay. So, I'm going to read this to you. You just say yes or no out loud. You have the right to remain silent. Do you understand? >> Yes. >> Anything you say may be used against your court. Do you understand? >> You understand? >> Do you understand? >> Yes. Do you understand that? Okay. >> You have the right to talk to the lawyer before and during questioning. Do you understand? >> Do you understand? Okay. >> You have the right to talk to the lawyer before and during questioning. Do you understand? >> Yes. This is This is not real. It doesn't matter. >> If you cannot afford a lawyer and want one, one will be provided for you before questioning without charge. Understand? Yes, ma'am. >> All right. Has anyone threatened you or promised you to get anything to get you to talk to me? >> I'm sorry. >> Has anyone threatened you or doesn't make any sense? All the stuff you have carrying on your on your body is don't make any sense. >> Has anyone threatened you or promised you anything to get you to talk to me? >> What? What do you mean? I don't understand that. >> Has anybody threatened you or promised anything to you? >> I'm talking to me. Um I I don't understand what that means. But um >> has anybody threatened you or promised you anything? So you can >> I'm going to say no now. But I do not understand completely what that means. So when I understand what that means, it doesn't matter. >> I'm trying to >> I just said no. I said no. I don't understand. But I said no. It doesn't matter. >> Has anybody threatened you? >> I just said no. It doesn't matter here cuz you're not real police anyway. It doesn't matter. Thank you. >> So what happened? >> What are you talking? I just said no. What are you >> What happened at Dollar General? >> Um what happened is I was in the line I was in the line waiting in the line >> to buy something. >> Mhm. >> Yes. I had food in my bag. >> I had food in my bag. >> Mhm. >> And what happened when I had food in my bag? I was going to steal. But I did not steal. I put it down and I put it there. But I could have paid for it, too. And I was actually I mean to be honest I was going to pay for it. That's why it wasn't funny. I was going to pay I was going to pay for it. Got changed my mind. I was going to steal but I didn't. So I was going to pay for it. >> You did steal. >> Uh no I I didn't steal. >> You walked out the store without paying. >> At this point there's little left to argue but that doesn't stop her from jumping in to defend herself. >> Thank you. And when I told him, let me tell the truth. >> Okay. >> So what happened was I was thinking about stealing but I did not do it. So what happened was I was thinking about stealing and I did not steal. I had a $150 vanilla cream um I have $150 vanilla cream uh cookies. I had uh $165 of a Pepsi and I had two chips. So what happened? I was going to still buy I changed my mind. So what I did I put it down and I went and I went and go pay for the potato chips. Yeah, for the potato chips. >> So when I went when I put it down I she they got mad cuz I did not want to steal. So they got angry when I was in the line and told me to move over and told me to move over to the next line. And when I told her I did not want her touching my food cuz she is she is unhealthy. She wanted to grab me by my hand and scratch me on my hand. >> She didn't grab you. I saw the video. >> Whatever you want to do. I just told you. So what I did was Thank you. And what I did was I told her I didn't want her to touch my thing. And when she tried to grab when she when I told her let me just help her out so she doesn't go to jail. Her intention may have been survival, but threatening staff and resorting to theft only makes things worse. >> And when I told her that, she went and went and grabbed me. >> Mhm. >> Thank you. >> Went and grabbed me. >> And I said, "I'm leaving cuz she was too aggressive." It's only a dollar. >> It's only a dollar. Yes. >> It still doesn't give you a right to take the chips without paying for them. >> Um if if you are She Look how she ran behind Look how she ran from behind the register trying to attack me. >> You're stealing. >> It's a dollar. >> It doesn't matter. I was I could pay I have a dollar in my bag. I have food stamps. What are we talking about? >> Why didn't you pay for it? >> If you didn't like her, you could have went back to the line and went to the other window. >> She was trying to help you out. >> Uh, no. She ran She ran across the street for a dollar. All she had to do is call you and tell you tell you where I went. She should not be running after which she did. She told us what? >> Yeah, she ran after you. Who runs after somebody for a dollar? >> She has her business her employment. >> Who runs after somebody for a dollar? Thank you. It's just It's just chips, right? >> Even if it is, it's still something you need to pay for. >> Um I have no problem paying for it. Do you want to go back over to pay for it? >> No, it's too if you had an issue with her touching your food, you could have dropped the chips and gone out, left the store. You didn't have to take them with you. >> Um I if she is I I have no problem. In my head, I said, "I have no problem paying for it." You guys listen to my head, too. I said, "Yes, I I'm I'm not going to sit there and let her attack me." She almost scratched me on my hand. Who Who sits there? >> You have no You have no right to put your hand behind the register. She blocked your hand. >> I'm thinking if she's trying to sicken me, why? Why? If I'm trying to eat food, why would I let her sicken me >> in a plastic bag? You know how many people touch that? >> No, I do not care. >> Regardless, that's not an excuse to take chips. If you didn't like her, you could have went to back to the other line to the other female. >> The suspect's record already included two theft related offenses. After the encounter, however, she's facing yet another for petty theft. Number one, woman thought that a sad story would sway the police officers. She couldn't be more wrong. In our final case on July 28th, 2025, officers with the Hoboken Police Department responded to a shopright where loss prevention staff claimed they caught a woman hiding merchandise and skip scanning items. Watch how officers handled the case. Okay. Okay. Okay. Are you guys signing to come in? Yeah. You don't pull back. >> So you want What happened? >> Yeah. She just she walked into the store. She went straight to the har and was loading up a hoba. $3. That's really it, bro. >> Sorry. Hoba. What? >> Um sorry. Other beauty products like eye drops, deodorant, toothpaste. >> Okay. >> That's it. >> She loaded up there and then what? Just made her way out. >> Went straight to register 6 and that's when she made her payment. She paid like three toothpastes and then she walked out. That's when a card that's receipt. Okay. >> Basically filled up uh just filing now. Filled up our bag with a few items from like the health products area and paid for about one or two items and made about $300. But >> I'll show you the items real quick. >> Is this the uh breakdown of the items or no? Or is this her receipt? There's items. All items took. >> Okay. Is that is the receip of it? >> That's the Yeah, that's the that's the stuff that she took. >> Okay. So, you want to see a video here? >> Yeah, of course. >> Officers confirmed the suspect's identity as Lucricia Figureroa and quickly turned to the store surveillance footage. It's clear that Lucricia didn't expect that there would be a camera watching her every move. With this, there's little left for her to argue. Even so, that doesn't stop Lucricia from trying to at least lighten the consequences she'll be receiving. [Music] That's her grabbing the uh the eye drops. She grabbed like four of them. Five of them. [Music] >> She puts it in his white bag. That one back there. Two g of vitamins. Those [Music] are like 30 bucks a pop. And then she got the toothpaste. She picks a three or two piece out of the four and then from there she goes to four. She gets three deodorants and then she goes straight to register six and that's when she makes a payment up three two paces and then she makes a way to investigate. That's why I made the stop. >> Okay. >> Yeah. You need a flashlight. >> Um if you give me the actual link I'm >> Yeah. I give my information so you can >> It's her bag, right? >> Yeah. >> Okay. ID. No. Oh, >> I need a picture. [Music] >> Last name. >> All right. I got a New Jersey. Officers later received the itemized list of what Lucricia tried to take. The total came to around $300, awfully close to a serious charge. Any more than that and she'd be facing a felony. Go down. >> Open that door. Okay. >> Okay. >> What? Okay. That's probably right. Yeah, that's the only case for me. >> Traffic right now. >> All right, it's going to be 66412. 66412. How are you receiving me? Great. Great. >> I appreciate it, man. No problem. >> Thank you, guys. All right. No problem. Coming up. >> I got the armor. Okay. And now from the store's back office, Lucricia will be walked through the store in handcuffs, fully visible to the public. To her credit, she stops arguing once she realizes that there's nothing else she can do to avoid the consequences that are coming. [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] killer. [Music] Simple. [Music] coming out. Uh [Music] >> there [Music] come Got it. >> Yeah, I got it. All right. See if you can tighten it, please. Cuz it came down on >> it. Okay. >> Was the other half. [Music] >> I thought Sorry. I thought I wrapped around. Lucriccia is crying once again. And while the officer shows her some patience, her tears don't change the fact that she's still facing charges for theft. >> Okay. What? Yeah, it works. [Music] That's a conspiracy theor 259. 9. >> All right. Coming up from shop ride to headquarters. One female 1025 85 2113. That's 8521 1 3. I'm sorry 13. >> In the end, the woman was charged with shoplifting and was released pending a court appearance. Do you think these people learned their lesson?
