From fake businesses to elaborate cons, these scammers believed they had built a foolproof plan. But as these clips reveal, it's not so easy to lie your way out once officers step in. Here are five cases when milliondoll scam artists get caught red-handed. Number five, scam duo finally gets caught and gets the charges they deserve. On February 29th, 2024, Princeton officers were called to a bank where tellers reported a man attempting to pass fraudulent documents. When the authorities arrived, officers wasted no time locking down the scene and confronting him. 54. >> Somebody hang out here on PK. I think the score uh score decides to take off. Hey, you have a car yet? [Applause] How you doing, man? Good. >> We spoke early with the principal. Just so you know, we all have cameras on the recording. We just >> I said just so you know, we all have cameras on. They're recording. We just have to talk. Uh tell everybody that we talked to. All right. >> Yeah. >> All right. So, um why do you think we're here today? >> What? Stay off the phone for me. Okay. >> Okay. Because I was going to call my uh my friend cuz I don't know. >> Call your >> That's the problem. >> Call your friend for what? >> See cops. I don't know what to do. >> Okay. Why Why do you think we're here? >> Huh? >> Why do you think we're here? >> What? >> Why do you think that we are here talking to you? >> They don't tell me nothing. >> What's your name? Why don't you give us your information? >> What? >> What? What's your name? Well, we >> What's up? >> Good morning, >> Milani. >> Eventually, officers would learn his real name, 42year-old Issa Dulo. However, at the moment, he clings to the fake paperwork he has as his cover. >> Do you have any other identification on you? >> I'm not asking to search you. I'm asking you if you have any other identification. >> Do you have >> I only have money in my pocket? >> I'm sorry. >> I have my money in my pocket. >> You have you have cash in your pocket that say you don't have any ID? >> No. >> No. >> Okay. >> You have a like another credit card, debit card within the >> No, no. Only this card and the thing. This is >> What is this? Is >> your international driver's license? >> No, I was putting my phone. >> Oh, no. It's okay. It's okay. Thank you. Appreciate it. You guys have a moment. >> So this is a third center that we know of that he visited >> and he opened up an account already at another location junction. >> Okay. >> So I was trying to get the information for that one. Okay. Are you Is that a customer that you're >> working? Okay. You can talk to me there. >> Yeah, if you don't mind. So, we're going to be obviously like saving some details and whatnot. >> Bank personnel revealed that the man had already managed to open an account at another branch even after being denied at one. At this location, however, they held him just long enough for the police to show up. >> Yeah. Yeah. So, he went to our location first. We we obviously saw the Yetis were fake because the pictures are the same on both IDs he presented. >> So that was one of the >> And then yeah, that's a photo copy I gave you. >> Then apparently he went to our Princeton Junction location. He opened up an account there. Not sure what name he used there, but pretty sure probably similar IDs. And now he's here trying to open up another account >> with that ID, which doesn't match the first one. >> So this guy's walking around trying to open up these fake accounts and they're probably going to scam people with like zel transfers or whatever it is, you know. That's >> um so Planes Bros was an attempt. >> Attempt failed. >> They denied it. >> Yep. And then went to Win Plaza. They they >> Prince Junction location was successful >> and then came here. >> Correct. >> Okay. So you had previous knowledge from Plansboro of like basically look out for this gentleman. Correct. >> Okay. What did they like what did they send you for that? Was it literally just this? >> This is kind of quick description of him. Uh pretty much this pretty much was this. Yeah. And then anything about the car here? Uh, there's something about a car. I don't know if it's on here, probably on the email. Okay. >> There's something about a car. New York plates. That's all I mean. I got >> Okay. >> So, you guys were obviously looking out for him already. >> I mean, I was hoping he didn't show up, but he showed up here. I'm just I'm just tired of this. I mean, this is constantly. >> Absolutely. So, what did you actually I'm assuming you're not at the desk like desk. Was it you that like spoke? >> Somebody else uh came to me and said, "Hey, you know, the guy's here opening account. He might be the same." Yeah. >> Okay. So, she kind of like tipped you off and passed him on to you guys and you called. >> Okay. All right. So, let's grab his info. >> I I already gave it to the other officer. >> Oh, business card. Yeah. Yeah. That works perfectly, too. Thank you. >> I gave her sir. I appreciate it, sir. >> So, um when he when he spoke with you, did he >> I didn't speak to him at all. >> Oh, you didn't? >> I'm with a I'm with a customer, so I'm kind of like this. >> I thought she kind of like passed him off on to you. Is >> No, no. I I haven't had a chance to talk to him yet. I just kind of I knew this guy was, you know, same person walking driving around and >> that's fine. >> Yeah. >> Having spoken with a branch manager, the officer proceeds to question the teller involved in the transaction. >> Sorry, it'll be as quick as we can. >> Sure. >> All right. So, kind of just I know there didn't seem to be a ton of communication between you guys. Can you kind of just like walk me through what what happened? As he came in, I noticed I had read the uh description of the alert that we have here for the plan for center. >> Okay. >> Kind of looked like the gentleman. >> Yes. >> And when I asked him, I just wanted to see his ID. So I called him over. I asked for the IDs. He gave me those IDs. Also, it did not match his name or the ID that was on the alert. >> Right. >> So that's what >> Okay. And at that point you just stalled essentially until we got here. There was not any like nothing. Okay. >> Just told him to just take a seat. >> Did he say like why he was here? Did you happen to get like a reason? >> He just said like he wanted to open an account. >> Open an account. Okay. All right. Thank you very much. >> Um I think we have your information already. >> Thank you. >> Thank you. This is plain number. >> This is from here. >> Was he trying to open it here? >> Yeah. This is what he presented to people here. >> And this is this is also here. >> Okay. >> This is So this is here. This is this is PL up here which was >> different. >> And then so we don't know if this is >> so maybe they matches this but that might be because he knows that's who he's >> Yes. >> Yeah. Who's this supposed to be? Yeah. >> Mhm. >> Yeah. So that's not going to be his name. >> No. Right. >> All right. So let's find out who he actually is. >> Yeah. >> And then uh >> All right. So, let's start from scratch with the ID again. Give him the blank note or sorry, >> got a detective soon arrives to take over the questioning, hoping the suspect will finally open up and see that honesty could work in his favor. The only thing is >> not I'm giving you a chance or you're going to get another charge here. Write down your real name. >> You're going to get more charges. Write down your real name. I'm giving you a chance to be honest. >> Listen, I don't understand what you write down here. >> Right. >> No, listen. I'm giving you a chance. I just got here. Okay? I just got here. I'm giving you a chance to help yourself. That's why I have here and that's why I have it there. >> Okay? Write down your name right there. Okay. Giving you a chance here. Take it. Take it. Here. >> I'm confused. >> Write your name. Here is what I'm asking you. >> I have my password. >> Understand. I'm asking you to write your name here. I'm giving you a chance right now. Write your name. That's not your name. I know it. I'm giving you a chance. You're going to end up Listen. You're going to end up going to jail for nothing. No reason for it. We're going to find out who you are. I didn't do I'm not I don't do nothing. So, >> all right. Are you going to stay with that name? >> Huh? >> Are you going to stay with that name? Is that your name? Yes or no? >> What? What is >> that's your name? What? How old are you? >> I'm 28. >> 28. What's your date of birth? >> I write it over there. >> Where you wrote it down? >> I I give somebody. >> I know. I'm asking you to write it down. >> Unfortunately, instead of cooperating, the suspect stalls, wasting time and refusing to give up any real answers. >> Do you want to take it? Yes or no? >> That's it. Do you want to take it yes or no? I will take this away. I won't waste your time. Don't waste my time. >> Okay. So, >> do you want to give me your name? >> So, you want to handcuff? >> Yes. But do you want other charges or do you want to >> officially I don't want not I'm sorry I don't know how to call it or >> it doesn't matter what you can call me call me Louisis that's fine >> no I don't want to be disres I don't know the name >> you're not being disres I'm just trying to give you a chance to be honest with who you are that's all because then you're going to get more charges I don't want to do that because I'm sure you want to go home I'm sure do you have family >> I I do have a family >> so don't you want to go home to them >> do you want to go home to your family >> today? >> Yes, >> I do. >> Okay. So, don't get any more charges. >> I don't want to. No. >> Okay. So, then tell me. So, that's what I'm trying to tell you. Tell me who you are. Give me your real name. Don't give me this. Don't give me this. This is not your real name. Give me your real name. >> I'm telling you right now. I promise you that this is your last chance. If you tell me your real name right now, I promise you that I will not charge you for lying. I promise. If you don't tell me and you're going to stick with this, I'm going to charge you. Promise. >> If you didn't say if I do what? >> If you give me your real name, cuz I know this is not it. >> If you give me your real name, I promise I will not charge you for lying to me. >> For what? >> For lying. For not telling the truth. >> What are you going to charge for? >> For lying. It's called In New Jersey, it's called hindering. >> Hindering. >> Hindering. It's It's a weird word. Yeah. So, it's an extra what I'm trying to say. It's an extra charge that you don't need. >> So, I promise you I won't charge you with that. Promise. >> Tell the truth. >> If you tell me what your name is right here, and it's not that. >> This is the last one. >> Okay, that's fine. Are you going to tell me? I don't want to play any more games. Are you going to tell me who you are? Yes or no? >> Are you going to tell me your real name? If not, when we get back to the station, I will find out who you are and I'm going to charge you with >> put more charges against you. Once again, the questioning hits a wall, forcing officers to find another angle to break through his silence. Byebye. >> The uh the number the number that uh just gives some We're past all that. It's not like if you're playing games, I understand like you're trying to do what you can and save face and all that, but you're genuinely going to make it worse for yourself. Like we're there's not by you not giving your own name, it doesn't negate all the other stuff. Like that's like that. You know what I'm saying? >> But not three. >> Come on. It's not like a thing that's going to be like a thing. >> Can we go and we talk? Oh. We're past that. Like we're past that. >> Yeah. >> Well, yeah, but >> Okay. >> So, you're you're more comfortable with getting an entirely new charge because you don't want your name. >> If you write your name on the paper, we're giving you a pass on a charge that quite frankly you could be charged with already. >> Well, I don't get why you don't want to do that. I'm telling you right now like I I as I I'm promising you like we have cameras here and I'm telling you that I promise you that I won't charge you but you have to tell me now because if you tell me if I find out later what your real name is cuz I know it's not that I'm not going to take it back and you don't need that. You don't need any more charges. >> That's I promise you that I will not charge you. I need your real name. >> The problem is my friend left. No, we have your friend. >> The officers reveal their last piece of leverage. His accomplice, 33-year-old Abdul Zangrana, has been identified. And now the officers are gambling on the fact that his partner's capture might push him to give up the truth. >> We have >> Okay, that's what I'm saying. >> So, I'm giving you too much information. That's why I want you to understand that I'm actually trying to be nice. >> Okay? I don't know if you ever deal with the cop before. I'm generally trying to be nice to you and I'm trying to help you. I promise you I am. Okay. All you have to do is give me your confirmation. It's a less charge that you're going to get and hopefully try to get you home to your family tonight. >> That's it. >> Okay. >> All right. Go ahead. >> Write anything down. >> It's not that. >> I know it's not. That's why I'm trying to give you a chance. >> No, that's the problem is >> that's all right. >> The boy will send me. >> Okay. 11 new one. So we pay the other guy driving. >> So >> to open up account in a fake name. >> He didn't tell me it's fake. >> Well, you know it is. It's not your name >> here. Write write your name. So >> I'm telling that I get through because you say that you know I don't >> listen before I don't want just understand like we'll talk more about this. I want to I want you to understand I got to read your rights and all. >> You know why I wasn't feel comfortable to talk cuz you >> from last and you say oh >> it's you get nervous. I I understand that's why and I want you to tell the truth. The guy is a new one. >> Okay. So why don't we talk about this back at the station where we can sit down not hear the people who hear us. Sure. >> Okay. Write your name your actual name here and your date of birth and your address. I won't charge you with that. Promise. I told you that. Right. So write your name down. right here. >> I'm sorry. You just have to write my name. >> Write your name down. Yes. >> Do you have ID with you now or in the car? >> I left my ID. >> It's not here. >> And then what? >> Okay. So, you're from Norton? >> You live in North? >> Yeah. Okay. >> Finally, the officers are ready to proceed with the arrest. >> Good. Thank you. Appreciate it. Actually, you know what? Uh, >> but I'm going to try to keep him above. >> Good. All right. Put your phone away. Stand up real slow. Turn around for me. So, as long as you remain cooperative, what you are, try to help you guys. Okay? I'm not going to tell you what I told you all. That's okay. I know you're scared and nervous. Okay? We're going to try to help you as much as you want. As long as you guys help yourselves and are cooperative, we're going to help you guys. >> Okay. As long as you keep telling the truth and being okay, we're going to try to help you. >> Okay. Perfect. All right. So, we're good. We're good. And we'll try to get you out today. >> We'll try to get you out of here today. >> Okay. Good. >> 934. Yep. >> Issa was later booked and processed for a long list of charges including identity theft, displaying a fraudulent passport, possession of fraudulent passports, tampering with public records, forgery, possession of stolen credit cards, and false statements to obtain a fraudulent credit card. Meanwhile, his accomplice Abdul was also charged with theft of identity, tampering with public records, and forgery. Number four, man thought he was playing the cops, but the police were two steps ahead. In this next case, officers respond to a Chase bank after reports of a man trying to cash a fraudulent check. Here's how the situation unfolds. Hey partner, can I talk to you over here? >> Can you have seat for me? >> You have your ID on you? >> Oh, they got my name. >> They do. Okay. What's your name? >> Xavier. >> Xavier. Okay. >> I need 27. I'm 1012 inside. >> Anything happened? >> I don't know if there's a problem at the counter or whatever, but are you here with anybody else? Oh, I mean, I'm here with my girl. >> Okay. All right. You have an account here? >> Yeah. >> Okay. All right. Just hang tight, man. We'll figure it out. Okay. >> I just want to know what's going on. >> Okay. Just hang tight. >> That's my girlfriend. >> Are you going to the restaurant? >> You can have a seat. Just have a seat. >> Oh, yeah. I was saying when anybody else gets 10:12, we can cancel, but just keep it up for now. >> I'm sorry. Um, she wants to restroom. Is that okay? >> Can you have a seat for me? How to see that? Let me know. >> Okay. >> Thank you. >> Do you have his ID? Do you have his ID on? >> The guy has it. >> The guy. >> We were working on it. Do you need it? >> I will. >> Okay. >> Thank you, officer. >> Hi. >> Can you say 102? I'm going to get his ID really quick. >> Can I go 958? >> Ma'am, do you have your ID on you? >> No. >> You don't have any ID on you? >> I don't have no >> What's your name? >> Janelle. >> Janelle? Sure. Just look at my death. >> It's not in your wallet. >> Why? Why does that happen to me? >> I'm just asking. You guys are together. So, do you have an account here? >> I'm not together with anybody. >> I just died. >> I just walked in. You watched me walk in. >> You know him? >> Yeah, I know him, but I'm not with >> I just go to the hospital. That's all I know. >> So, why did you come here? >> Cuz I supposed to meet up with him here. Oh, so you all >> the hospital >> now? I didn't I had nothing to do with the chase. >> With nothing solid from the suspect, the next step is to get the teller's explanation of what happened. >> Hi. >> All right. So, what's going on? >> So, this here is his profile. This is the account. This is a check he deposited. and he just took $3,000 around that out with my teller. Leaves, comes back in, tries to now take 8,000 out. When my teller goes through the transaction history, you'll see all the withdrawals from that $25 25,000 that he's cashing out on. And it's all different branches. So, by the time he came back for the second round, my bankers put my back office put a prohibited status on the debit card cuz it drew a red flag to my back office. >> So, they froze the card. So, now he went to go insert the card again and take out the 8,000. And my teller is like this card we use embossed cards. We don't have cards like this. So then we're like I call my back officer. >> Okay. So sorry this card what >> ours are embossed. So like the the letters are the numbers are raised. >> Isn't this one raised? >> No, this is embedded. It's not embossed where it sticks out like a braille. >> Do you know what I'm saying? >> Yeah. >> Yeah. I could show you mine. Come over here. >> So they're different. So those aren't our cards. Like you don't use cards like that. No worries. >> Here you have a chase here. That's our cards. Sorry, mine got run over by a car. But >> so those are our cards. >> Okay. >> So he just took out money from my teller and came back to try to do it again. Um and then I called the business owners up and cuz they have accounts with us and I said they're in Ohio Midway. >> Yeah. And I said, "Hey, this person's here trying to they deposited a $24,000 check. Can you verify and make sure that that's there?" She goes, "No, we've been at the bank all day." She's like, "Please been frauded and d So I spoke with the owner." Um, so she's never authorized anything. >> All right. So, >> sorry, I was about to use my card. >> When was this checked? >> Fortunately, the bank moved fast following the trail of suspicious transactions to limit the losses. And who was it deposited and how was it deposited >> into his account? >> Okay. >> The same ID that matches. They just restricted everything for me. >> Okay. >> So, it was deposited on what's today? >> Sunday. Today's what? Monday the 7th 6th on Saturday. >> It was deposited on Saturday. >> Sad. Hold on. It's even showing uh No, Friday. ATM deposit on the four 114 >> and then he's been bleeding. >> Why is there two copies of this check? >> Oh, cuz the one of them has the signature that he did. I It cut off on that one. >> Okay. >> So, I just wanted to give you the >> Oh, they both came out on both, did it? >> Okay. So, hang on to one. I want to get myself. >> Okay. So, >> he's been taking out all of it. >> So, where can you print me out the deposit for this >> for? Yeah. It's a ATL deposit. >> Okay. And when you say bleeding it, like >> he's like been spending all the money. >> Okay. So, the deposit cleared on what day? >> Uh, it says Okay, hold on. I can tell you right now. Give me a minute. On the 5th. >> Okay. >> Mhm. >> Okay. So, >> on the 5th, which was Saturday, he made an ATM deposit. >> Uh-huh. >> Is there any way to tell which ATM it was? Yes. Hold on. Cisco, you needed me, sweetie. >> Do you need my EJ >> in a minute? Yes. >> I'll keep you posted. Uh, Cypress Parkway to Smi, Florida. >> Okay. So, >> you need me to print that? I can print that for you. >> Yeah. >> So, >> he deposited over there. >> Mhm. >> And then the next day it cleared. >> Okay. >> And then he cleared cleared on Sunday. >> Uh, the fourth was Friday. >> Was it Friday? Yeah. So Saturday it cleared. >> Okay. >> Mhm. >> Cuz it's a chase check. So then if we see that the funds are there, we don't know like the systems are doing. It can't read the, you know, the stuff. >> Okay. >> So it's going to make it available. >> At this point, thousands of dollars are on the line. The suspects already managed to cash nearly $3,900, returned for another $3,000, and in total attempted to pull off more than $24,000. Um, >> and then there's pending transactions there. >> So then he came back today and took out >> and took out 3,900 of my money that he's got in his possession. >> And then he left >> cash. Okay. >> Cash. Yep. And then he left. Came back again and was like, "Oh, that worked. Let me try 8,000 now." And he gave my teller some story like he's going away. He didn't work,000. >> It's over here cuz you're only seeing the front part. I'm printing it out. Yeah. >> Okay. So um it tried to be 8,000 but by that time my back office too restricted the account the card and then that's when my teller so let me see the card and he goes boss this is not like our cards. So I'm like so when I call my back office I'm like we're not doing like embedded cards yet. >> How much time what was the first when was $3,000? What time? It says 10:41 >> and then he just came back now. >> Came back again. Yeah. >> Okay. >> Do me a favor. Just stay off that phone right now while we're >> just stay off the phone right now. You're in the middle of the investigation right now. Okay. >> I didn't answer right now. >> This is not okay for her. >> Well, I'm sure you were texting her and told her that we were here. >> No, I called her and then I texted her saying police. Okay. So, that's why she's calm. >> Yeah, that's stressing her out. She's going through breast cancer and death cancer first time and I'm the only child. And stress is not good for a teen patient. Correct. >> I don't know. >> I mean, you're a police officer. >> Well, I'm not a medical student. >> You You're supposed to be protecting the community, right? Trying to hurt my mom by not by protecting and serving. >> You're not free to leave. You're not going to be talking on the phone right now. You're in middle of investigation. because I'm not an >> If you want to make this more difficult for yourself, by all means, >> you completely dictate which way this goes. >> So, that is 100% up to you. >> Officers are already convinced that both suspects are guilty. At this point, their smooth talk won't change what's coming next. >> Already lied twice. >> I lied. >> You said you weren't with him. >> I didn't come here with him. That's what the question was. >> But you're here with him. You know him. >> I came to meet up. >> He called you babe. >> Then you said you didn't have a wallet or a purse. >> This is not a purse. This is not even a wallet. >> I'm sure your ID is in there. >> And I'm sure your ID is in there. >> Is your ID in there? >> My medical card's in there. So I already gave it to him. >> Is your ID in there? >> I don't have one. Okay. So what are you saying? I'm going to get nowhere. >> I know I'm not. It's like talking to a wall. [Music] No, no. >> All right. >> You want the pimp or the >> Hey, let's um Hey, you got a warrant for some sort of failure to deliver uh returned funds. It's out of P County. So, your bond is 1,000 bucks. So, I'm going to put you in a car and then we'll talk about what's going on. Okay. >> All right. >> My bond is a dollar. So, it's going to be $100. Give me >> I'm going to come back and talk to you. Okay. >> Yeah. >> Tell you what's going on. >> But is that true? >> If he goes through a bondsman. >> Yeah. You got to lose 10%. >> Tell your mom that I can be on my phone. >> If you get this done, if you get this done now, >> just wait for him to come back >> sometime today. >> All right. >> You want me to have your phone? You got anything going on in P County? >> No. The last thing I was I was on probation. >> That may have been I signed my I went to court and I signed my fines. I Well, I didn't sign my I I signed my probation release paper and they didn't give me a 4 day after that. >> Okay. >> Can you stay pencil for a couple minutes for them? >> Yeah. Now that the man is secured, the officers returned to finish questioning the woman. >> All right. Is that your boyfriend? >> Like we just met each other. >> Yeah. >> So you just met him, but your address is the same. >> Are you living with him? >> Yeah, I um Okay. So I only know of him because his brother is my friend. So, um, when he got out of jail, he needed a new address cuz his ex-girlfriend didn't want to give him back his, uh, birth certificate and social security number, right? >> What's your phone number? >> And for him to get a job, I just let him be my address. >> What's What's uh your phone number? >> Were you here earlier today? >> No. Okay. Why did you Why did you meet up here? I was just coming to come here to go to meet up with him so that me and him can go together together to see my mom in the hospital. [Music] When you see me, when you see me when you were talking, that was my first time ever walking in here. >> Thank you. >> That was your first time walking in here? >> Yeah. >> So, where are you guys going to go after this? >> I was going to go see. My mom's at on seven on the seventh room in the fifth floor right now. >> With him? >> I was going to go with him. Yeah. >> Okay. How you guys going to get there? Uber. Uber. >> All right. Um, did he tell you what he was doing here? You know, I didn't know why he was I didn't even know he had a chase, you know, he had chasing anything. I I don't know. >> All right. Give me a couple minutes. All right. >> The woman walked free after questioning, but the man was charged with multiple offenses, including uttering a forged check, bank fraud, and grand theft. Number three, entitled woman learns what happens when you make a living by stealing other people's identity. On September 19th, 2023, police responded to a Verizon store after reports of a woman attempting a fraudulent transaction. Here's the manager's account of what led to the call. >> I have someone from our loss prevention team on the phone call. >> Okay. >> You want to talk to you? >> Uh, let me figure out what's going on cuz the other guy's prime the primary officer. So, >> um, did she try and open anything with you guys today? >> No, she she has we have $26,000 in confirmed fraud that she's opened up and like pass Do you know which agencies are working at? >> Yeah. Hope like I got her here. >> Ma'am, I have you on the phone with the police officer right now. I'm going to pass it over. >> This is their Did you steal anything from any other stores? >> Yes. >> Uh, hello. I got I They can hear you. Did she steal anything from any other stores? >> Yes, I have confirmed fraud. >> Was there a police report completed on that that fraud? >> We were getting completed today. >> All right. What city is that? >> Okay. I've got her all over the state of Florida. I've got her in Punagora, Spring Hill, Ivoris. I got her in Penllis Park. Go ahead. Jacksonville, Jacksonville Beach, Brandon, Marco Oita, Orlando. >> All right, ma'am. Um, bear with me one second. We're going to try and figure out if there's a crime that was committed right now. Um, what >> she gave a name, Catherine, so I don't know if that's her. >> I I don't know what he's given to you. >> I know I actually >> What hap Can Do you have the report from the East store? >> I don't have it filed yet. >> Okay. What happened at that store? >> On the 4th of August, she obtained two devices. She used the name. >> Correct. >> Okay. Do you guys not verify IDs or anything prior to selling devices? >> We do. She has fake IDs. She has fake IDs. >> She has fake IDs. She uses >> Do you have the um Do you have copies of any of the documents that she had or surveillance video? Otherwise, we're only going off your word. It turns out the woman is accused of using fake documents and a false ID to buy multiple phones. The officer now needs every piece of evidence available to strengthen the case. >> I have surveillance video. I also have the invoices that she used or that was used during the transactions. >> Does that invoice have her um signature >> her like ID attached to it or anything or a copy of the ID? >> No. >> Yeah. Like we we just swipe a card, but we just like check and we have to ask for documents, then upload them. >> She gives us a driver's license. We type the information. She gets us. >> Can you send me that surveillance video? >> I can. It's going to give me a few minutes. >> With that information in hand, the officer heads inside to question the suspect. >> So, what did you come here today for, Miss Catherine? Uh, I come I come to this area once a month to visit my my mom. I'm sorry. >> You're fine. To visit your mom. Okay. >> And what were you coming here for? >> Like I said, I have AT&T. >> Yeah. I I didn't hear the story, so I'm just trying >> I have AT&T. >> Yeah. >> I'm trying to switch over to uh Verizon. >> Okay. >> You've never opened up another Verizon account, anything like that before? I had a Yeah, I told him I had the right one before. >> Okay. In this in your name? >> Yes. >> Can you tell me to start recording this? >> H >> Can you tell him to start recording us? >> Unfortunately, we're in a public place. You can record us. I mean, you're on camera already. So, >> no. You guys understandable for him? >> He's You're in a public place. There's no expectation of privacy. >> Which phone are you trying to get? >> The 15 Pro Max. The 15 Pro. the 15. >> What? So, what's the deal with the probation? >> I'm not going to lie. You guys already know everything. I didn't do this stuff. >> What kind of I I don't know. I didn't hear what it was. He just said probation. I didn't know anything. >> Phones. >> Phones. >> Yeah. >> Open up phones and other people's names. Long story short, long story be trying to do everything. I literally have I can't show you. >> I have AT&T. >> I believe you have AT&T and everything. >> So expensive. So I'm trying to get it. >> What is it for? AT&T. >> Expensive. >> It's expensive. Oh, yeah. Verizon's just as expensive though. >> A little cheaper. >> Is it? >> Yeah. >> Yeah. I just hate this situation because I have not been in here. >> I hate this. >> For now, she keeps her composure, insisting she's done nothing wrong. >> Why do you think we're here? >> Because you the guys think I'm scamming. No one's coming right now. I'm not coming. I actually did. >> Okay. And what about on 84? Did you go to another Verizon store? No, >> I really don't remember what I ate yesterday to be honest with you. >> Have you been to another Verizon store in the past month? Two months. >> Cannot recall right now. I cannot recall. I'm afraid of you guys. >> I'm the nicest person in the world. >> You guys make me nervous. >> I mean, there's nothing to be nervous about. >> Wait. I'll take it. I mean, it's if it's if it happen, that's >> this bank is is a big one. >> Yeah. So, um >> $26,000 >> total. So, but we have at least $2,200 in March. So, we'll see. >> I mean, I give you time to think what you're going to tell me. >> We're talking $26,000. >> I'm sorry. >> Stop calling on the phone. Everyone >> I'm not calling nobody. I'm on Instagram. >> Actually, put your phone down and $20. We're done. >> Like I said at the beginning, you're going to clear your le can't go anywhere. You're officially detained. >> Let me So run her deal and see if >> right now working at $26,000 >> for an ongoing course of contract. >> You keep going and going and going. I'll give you a chance to think about what you're going to say. >> So uh it'll be interesting. Let me go run this and see if it actually matches. Elsewhere, officers are with store staff examining receipts and files that back up the fraud allegations. >> So, basically what he she would come in the store, she'd buy two iPhones. The only thing she'd pay in store is tax. >> Okay. >> But that's what these two phones are worth. >> Do you know what debit card she used? >> She used that right there. >> Member majority. >> Yeah. >> What is that? Is that a name? >> I don't even know. Yeah, it's She's been Yeah. Yeah. So, she shows up in the invoice. So, it's like probably fake card and all that kind of stuff. But, she basically would pay the taxes and then go around and then sell the phone for 2,000 3,000 $2,000 cash and pocket that when she only paid the taxes. But she basically logged into someone else's Verizon account. >> Why are you crying? >> I'm not crying. >> Why? Why' your people dip on you? >> Nobody dipped on me. Like, it just I hate this situation. I really do. >> I just I know you're not the main one in this. You're just the fall person. Just being honest. And that sucks. >> Can I grab a cup of water? >> Yeah, you can have a cup. You're >> actually in here for a legitimate purpose and not a scam. And you got in trouble for a previous scam. >> So, I'm not going home tonight. >> I don't know. There's no investigating. You're just detained right now. You understand how it looks from our perspective, right, >> officer? Like, I like talking to you better than the other one. >> I'm real. Like, I've been doing this a while. >> You've been doing this 20 years. So, >> I was going to say from the beginning, I have a past and I've been in probation. Like, I don't mind telling my past because it is what it is. That's what I did already. >> But right now, I'm doing something completely legit. I'm not trying to scare nobody. >> No, I I I believe you are actually here for a legitimate purpose and you are legitimately here for a legitimate reason. Just your past has a bolo on you >> and that's what >> do you remember what happened at when you were in Largo last time at the other space store? >> I'm not sure anything. >> Have you ever used the name Lorie Hacket before? >> It turns out she's no stranger to this scheme as officers confirm she's been caught doing the same scam before. Now they push harder for answers. Did you use >> I don't remember officer. >> So why can you explain to me why someone would describe you like to a te your exact outfit to a tea? No idea why they were call why I was calling him. Can describe you to a te which stocky shorter Hispanic woman speaks English very well usually wears ball or was wearing a ball cap um and provided a like consulate card to verify a name of Lori Hackett. >> Maybe because the stuff that I had done in my past like I just told you like I have a pass. Yes, I'm not going to deny that I do have a pass. I was going to tell you from the beginning I was in Croatia. >> No, it's okay. I'm not trying to lie with you. No, no, no. Like because you told me, >> yes, I have been a criminal. I'm in the system, but I tried to be the most respectful to the law because I know how it goes. >> You've been nothing but respectful for us. >> I'm not trying to believe you. >> I'm not trying to lie to you. Nothing like that. I do have a past. I do have done stupid. Sorry, my language. >> Why would the store put out that type of bull or >> maybe because I have done something in the past? Because Yeah. Like I said in my past, I had done stuff. >> Why would their loss prevention tell me you did something multiple times in this area? Like granted, you only did something once in long ago. >> Can you explain that? Like right now? >> Why would someone be out to get you? >> Cuz that's how you're making it seem like you're the victim and it's like we're just out to get you and that's not the case. >> I don't know. Like like I said, like I have a past. Maybe I had done something in the past that I do not recall because I'm I'm trying to do it legit. >> Okay. I don't want to go back to jail. >> Did you come up here in August? >> What I was wearing in August? What I was wearing in August? >> So, if I show you surveillance video and it matches you to a T and you provided this person's name, like you understand, my hands are very well tied. Like, I'm giving you a chance to explain your side of the story at this point. >> Well, at the end of at the end of the day, you guys want if you guys have a video of me, you guys still going to take me in. So, >> not necessarily. >> Not necessarily. The officers now press her about the paperwork in her possession and the card she presented at the time of the transaction >> cuz she got an iPhone Pro 14 Max in D Purple and iPhone Pro 14 Max and D purple. You paid 7% sales tax on someone else's account and then um and you used a chip card it looks like. So does the name majority member? Does that sound familiar? >> Yes. What's that? >> That's my debit card. >> That's your debit card. >> Do you have in your wallet? >> Thought you said both of them were in your name. >> Yes. This is the an app that I use when I cannot use a a capital one. >> So, can you tell me why it says Lorie Hackit and it has your last four of your card number on it? Can you explain that? But Catherine, I'm here to help you. Help me help you. >> You want me to tell you the truth? >> Yes. I want you to tell me the truth. >> This cousin asked me for the for the third and he was going to say something. I let him use my third card. >> So, it was your cousin that did this. I don't know. I got to I haven't seen the surveillance video. So, your cousin went in and used that. So, what is this just a re like a reload card? >> Yes, sir. I usually use that one when I can uh deposit money on my debit card. >> Okay. >> On my personal on the capital one. >> So explain to me why. So he used your card. He came to the store. >> No. No, son. Think. >> Huh? >> Take your time. Reason. Take three. >> I'm very interested in the story. While you're thinking of the story, think about it for a second. I'll be right back with you. Okay? Because I got to go talk to them now for a second. I'm willing to speak whatever. Now you're recording. >> I would I've always been recording. I had to go out there and meet when I talked to Sergeant. >> Now I'm It is a scam going on. I know how it works. I know everything about the scam. >> Okay. >> I'm not doing anything right now. I'm not >> I believe you were here for legitimate purpose. Go ahead. Sorry. My apologies. >> For now, she continues selling her version of events, hoping that the officers will buy it. I'm trying to do something legit and I'm going to get up because of my task. I'm going to speak about it. >> I'm going to speak about it because I don't want to go to I don't want to violation. I don't want to do this to my family. >> Like I said, I think you're just the fall person in this. You're you're the the pawn that they're like, "Hey, go do this and we're going to give you quick cash cuz it's Are you working right now?" >> I'm constru construction >> like I'm not. And what are you just a Are you a journeyman? Anything like that? Are you just day labor helper? >> Yes. >> So you ain't making a ton and you're out there? >> I'm I'm living with my with I call them parents but they're my uncle uncle and aunt. >> Yeah. >> They finished raising me. So I'm living with them. So I'm okay. I'm I don't need to do nothing. >> Are they in Davenport? >> Yes. >> Are they going to get involved in this? I don't want to I don't want them to find out. None of >> Why would they get involved? I have no reason to tell them. be a reason to tell them. >> No. >> Okay. >> I don't want to be another disappointment again when I'm trying to do everything legit. Like if I need to speak about something from the past, I mean, I am. >> I don't care like because I'm not doing anything right now. >> Okay. I know. I like I said, I legitimately believe you were here for a legitimate purpose. >> But whatever you did last month, >> and this person is trying to up, I don't care who goes down, so I'm not going to let nobody. Do you think somebody is like impersonating you or somebody's like dressing similar to you? >> That's really easy. And I pretty I have an idea who can be >> who it was that came in that actually used your card and stuff. >> When he speaks to the detective, I will speak about it more. >> Okay. The officer pushes further, trying to determine if she's working alone or if others are behind the scam. And to keep her talking, they show her a bit of leniency. >> Are you willing to go back to the station and talk with us? >> I don't want to get arrested. That's >> Are you in cuff? Are you in cuffs right now? >> No, but you guys close enough to put me in cuff. And as soon as that, you guys probably notified me of probation officer already. So, >> I haven't even contacted your probation. Why would I have contacted your probation? I've been here with you other than calling Sarge. >> Yeah, but there's a really phone call that came real quick and call my probation officer. >> Nobody's called him yet. >> Let's see. We just got the video. You want to watch it? >> Let's see. >> Should I call my girlfriend and let her know what's going on? >> Possibly. Who's that? I know who can move. >> What >> is that? You >> can I call my girlfriend? Let her know what's going on. >> I can't let you make any calls right now, but that's a possibility. So, do you know who this is? >> Are you sure? >> Who is it? >> We look like a lot in >> You guys look very similar. >> Yes, that's this guy. Um, girlfriend. >> This guy's girlfriend. >> Yes. >> Do you know her name? >> I know her nickname. >> What's her nickname? >> Shorty. shorty. >> So, let's try this again. Is this you? >> With a proof piling up, you'd expect a confession, but that's not what happens. You won't believe what she says next. >> I've been super nice to you. >> Oh my god. >> I don't know. I can tell you that's your tattoo and that's your tattoo. I already said what I got to say. >> Okay, >> you guys hold me on. I will give you every every single thing that you guys need. >> Okay. >> Just hang out with her. >> FaceTime. >> Oh, he can FaceTime. >> Yeah, you can FaceTime. >> Hey, Zach, do you remember her tattoos or anything >> on her forehead? >> Yeah. >> Yeah. >> Pretty like pretty well. Like if I showed you like you'd say, "Yeah, that's the same one." >> It was like I It was like kind of tribal, I want to say. Like it wasn't necessarily like a person. >> Okay. Um did you see any other tattoos? >> Not that I can recall. I mean, it was about a month ago. >> Okay. All right. Um yeah, let me um I'm just going to put you on FaceTime really quick. So this is the exact bowl of from that day. This is probably better than what she's taken like screenshots of so you can see the exact tattoo. >> Taking screenshots of the actual >> see the actual tattoo right there on her forearm. >> Perfect. >> Okay, that matches and this is her from all the same date. >> The same day. >> Yeah, you can see that's all. And I showed them to her and she goes, "Can we make a deal?" >> Perfect. There you have it. >> So, at this point, like um checking and then um >> identity theft and identity theft is theft to Verizon. Okay. >> And the U are we doing theft or we doing scheme due to fraud? >> Right now it's your Can you do fraud when we get more >> ongoing course of conduct? >> I have a lot of >> I'm going to flip the camera around. I'm not going to let her see your face or anything. Um but I just want to see if you remember her and the tattoos and stuff like that. Sorry. >> Absolutely. Yeah. Um, and obviously we have her IDed and everything at this point. Um, all right. Cool. Thanks. All right. >> So, no detectives coming. So, at this point, it's your last opportunity to talk to me. Is there anything else you want to tell me? >> Listen, tell it. Listen, you've been through the system many times. You know how it works. It doesn't matter if detective is right here or not. They know what it is because what happens today is not what what's important. It's what happened after today. And by you helping them, they may be able to help you later. >> Yep. >> Does that make sense? >> Help us help you. >> I'm I'm just saying >> all the time when I had try to help, I had that that screw up. >> Well, you can take entire hit. It's up to you. I I honestly I'm going to be frank with you. I really don't care. But I was I don't want you taking the hit. But if that's what you want, then so be it. You can take it. I'm not going to prison. You will. I'm telling you right now. >> You guys ready for my coration officer? I already talked to him. >> So what it is is that >> you told me there was nobody that was going to call him yet. >> I didn't know. >> Well, I've been outside taking calls and receiving calls. This is where I've been outside for for This is here. This is not a joke. We We're not playing I'm not lying to you. >> I didn't I didn't say I wasn't going to call anybody and I was going to call you. That never happened. You asked me to detect, but I'm telling you the the real answer. They're not coming. But I'm also telling you >> they're not coming. >> No. What what I'm also telling you, they're going to continue investigating and by you telling is whatever it is that you need to say, you can say right now. It's been recorded. That's called cooperation. It goes down. It goes ways after. >> Instead of cooperating, she boldly taunts the officers, claiming she should be freed because it makes no difference. >> What makes me not going to stop this? Like that's that's the whole point. You guys want to stop this, right? That's for you to come to that conclusion, right? I think you're finally realizing that it's going to go on with or without. >> No. Regardless with me in jail or not in jail, it's going to go. It's going to keep going. And you think that I'm the only person that does this? No. >> No. >> And so like that's that's the whole point. Let's I already split all the beans. All the beans. I already stopped. If you guys want to keep me keep me keep helping you, just let me go. Like I swear to you, I'm not going to disappear. >> You're on family in procation. I mean, even if I wanted to, I couldn't make anything else. >> You guys can make anything possible if you guys actually want. You guys can make any You guys You have too much faith in us. >> No, you >> I'll be honest. You have too much faith. >> Stand up for me. Okay. >> Put your hand on your back. >> Your information. >> I'm just going to take off your watch. Okay. >> But you just can't be like, I got caught. So, let me just give everyone up and I'm going to give walk away for you. >> No, it's not it's not >> Take off your watch for me. >> And >> I never had done this before. >> Officer Quick has already got you on another there's another store here in East Bay Drive that you did in August in in our city. >> Make it like you're pranking. Like you're pranking. >> So that's that's multiple. >> For this incident, the suspect was charged with two counts of ID fraud and one count of attempting to defraud over $20,000. She was later sentenced to 270 days in jail. Number two, 80year-old man's desperate attempt to avoid jail time backfires miserably. Our next case takes us to a Firestone tire shop where an 80year-old man attempted to pay with a bad check. After being told it wouldn't clear, he became combative, prompting officers to get involved. >> You wrote me up a bad check. >> You did some work for him. He's got this invoice and uh >> and we got the copy of his insufficient check fund. >> We tried to for weeks get it straight with him for weeks. >> And uh uh the problem is the main problem is is he don't want to pay the insufficient check fee. >> There is a fee for me getting a bad check. Most people won't >> and uh we we want to charge him $20 for that. It's just the way it is. And uh >> he don't want he ain't doing anything. And he'll send us a money order after we argued with him and and uh he said he sent us a money order. Money order never came and >> that's how that's going. >> Now, do you want me to try and contact him and see if he can come here and take care of it now or do you want to like pursue truck? What do you want to do? >> Yeah, let's see. He's going to come down here and just pay it out. I mean, Total >> 258 >> plus the 20 >> 27814 that's what he owes me as we can tell >> right >> engage 360 is that you guys >> if there is of a crime I had to do that >> it would be for the original amount >> um I know that store policy you can tack on that's fine >> um but what he'd be required to pay back for you know >> right it's like someone took an item it's like yeah well now it's like plus interest cuz I lost you know what I Well, I mean, we got charged we get charged a fee for that. >> We were charged by the bank for that. >> And now it's time to finally confront the suspect. >> But let me give him a call and just see if he wants to take care of this. I mean, it's $20 either which way. I mean, we're not stressing it. It's the It's the principle at this point, >> right? But the main thing is go this far, but >> is to just get the work done for the Yeah. Okay. >> It's just ridiculous to sit here and argue with us, >> right? I got you. Let me give this guy a call real quick. How much is that? >> 27814 receipt. >> Yep. Yep. One minute. >> Thank you. >> Yeah. If you take it to a foreign country, the ID is passed to you, >> right? But they don't allow you to carry an ID, but they gave you the badge and your current law enforcement. >> That's That's strange. Do you have a you have a supervisor that you report to? >> Yeah. Unless it's a case of emergency. I'm not supposed to give his name out. >> You're not supposed to what? Now >> give out his name. Hey, I hate to tell you, but it's an emergency. >> Huh? >> It's an emergency. >> Well, that one. Uh, let me show you. >> Why are you saying that? I don't >> I don't know if you're aware, but if you present a badge and say you're law enforcement and you're not, that's a that's a felony. I don't I don't use it only when I leave this country. I just wanted to show you a little bit of the information. >> Right. But you presented it to me and told me you're law enforcement, but you don't have an ID. >> That is it. I'm a federal >> Yeah. I don't think you're going to find find out too much because they won't if they don't give much >> they're not going to relinquish that much information. >> No, they won't. >> All right. >> But I don't know what I don't know what can I do to make you understand that I'm not a pat. >> Yeah, that's what I was just asking some questions and stuff like that for just so I can have a better understand cuz like I said, I've I've never really had that many actions. I've worked with federal law enforcement before. I used to work for DoD as a military police officer. >> Department of Defense. >> Yeah. >> This is Department of Justice. >> Yeah, I got you. >> A big difference. >> Yeah. Right. I got you. All right. >> Who prayed for you? Don't take my driver's license. >> Yeah, I'm just going to hold on to I'm not I'm not I'm not stealing it from you. I promise. >> Now, before proper questioning begins, the officer reads the suspect is Miranda rights. >> Hey, um we're in this predicament. I'm just going to read you this real quick. Okay, >> I've read it. >> All right, I'm going to read it to you anyways. You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can be used against you in court. You have the right to talk to a lawyer for advice, before we ask you any questions, and have him or her with you during questioning. If you can't afford a lawyer, one will be appointed to you before any questioning if you wish. I know this is silly. If you decide to answer any questions without lawyer present, you still have the right to stop answering at any time. Still have the right to stop answering at any time until you talk to a lawyer. I just have to get that out of the way when we have a conversation like this. >> That's fine. >> Yeah. >> I know the rule. I have to myself. >> Did you have your supervisor's number? >> I can't give it to you. I can't do it. They won't let me. If I do. >> All right. >> Northport knows who I am. >> Northport PD. >> Yeah. >> They know who your supervisor is. >> I have their >> Who do you know in Northport that would be able to verify who you are? >> Morales. >> The chief. >> Yeah. Assistant. >> Assistant chief. >> Uh, also um I have the phone number direct to them. So if I have a problem, I can call them. >> Oh, what's that phone number? You don't have any guns in the car or nothing like that, do you? >> I am, of course. >> You're armed? >> Oh, yeah. >> All right. Here. Okay, that's fine. Leave it there. All right. Uh, real quick, I'll let you get that phone number, but we're going to just change things up. I need you to shut the car off real quick. Okay. Cuz you're detained right now. >> Too long. I got a pickup. >> Okay. Yeah, that's all right. Here, shut your car off for me. All right. Just >> do me a favor. Shut your car off. >> All right. Where's your firearm at? >> It's right there. >> In the inside of your shirt. >> It's in the shoulder hole. So, right here >> underneath. Don't reach for it. Don't reach for it. >> No. No. It's right there. >> Okay. >> Yeah. Okay. >> With a firearm present, the officer takes no chances. His first step is to remove it from the suspect's possession. >> All right. Here's what I want you to do. Okay. Um you're you're carrying a firearm. >> Yeah. >> Um >> unlicensed. >> Okay, that's fine. I'm going to remove it from you temporarily. >> Huh? >> I'm going to remove it from you temporarily because of the way things are. All right. What I want you to do is place your hands over that direction. I'm going to take it off of you. Okay. Don't reach for it. Don't reach for it. Don't unbutton. Don't unbutton. I'm going to take care of it for you. >> All right. >> You can just keep your hands over there. I'm just going to pass that loaded. There's no one in the chamber. >> I got you. No guns in the car. >> No. >> All right. Car is off. All right. Just go ahead and face me and just we'll have a conversation here. Okay. >> I don't know if I can. I'll try, buddy. >> You just hang tight right there. All right. Like I said, if this is you are who you say you are, then we're go you'll be on your way. No problem. >> Here's the North Here's the Northport direct assistance phone number right there. >> Oh, okay. And >> so if I have any problems, they'll assist me. >> Okay. And who who am I gonna talk to on here that's going to be able to confirm who you are? >> Chris Morales, I guess. >> Chris Morales. >> Yeah. >> Okay. I happen to know him just because I know. Okay. But I just think that's a little strange that number two in command is the only person that know who you are. You get what I'm saying? Does that sound right? >> Yeah, it does. >> Okay. >> I've been after 51 years of me, buddy. >> All right. Thought >> Well, I just I've got a lot of law enforcement friends and family and this isn't quite normal. What you'd say? Keep that wheel up if you don't want to. >> Oh, okay. Yeah. [Applause] >> All right. Hi, this is uh Deputy Chandler here. Um I'm currently investigating a a crime. This is kind of pecular that I get called to you guys. Um I don't know if this can be accomplished, but this individual is claiming to be a uh federal entity of law enforcement, and the only person that is able to justify whether or not he is or not is your guys' number two in command. So, um I don't know if I'd be able to speak to Chief uh Morales or not, but if there is a possibility, um if he's available, that would be good. If not, I completely understand. >> Now, the waiting begins to see if any of his statements can actually be verified. >> What department did you say you're with? >> I'm with the Charlotte County Sheriff's Office. I'm sorry. >> That's okay. >> Yeah. All right. Um, >> well, let me uh place you on a brief real quick. Okay. >> Thanks. I appreciate it. Not a call you get every day. >> You're welcome. >> Thanks. >> Okay. So, does does he know that you're calling or not? >> He does not. Um, and again, I know this is strange, but >> um if it's possible, would just so I can say that I check this box. I know it's a request, but So you think that they're they live here? >> Um so this individual is saying that one of the only people that can justify who this um our subject here is is Chief Morales. So um before I go further with investigating this pretty serious felony, I'd like to check the box at least that I reached out. If he does or doesn't know, he can let us know. But I understand if he can't accept the call at the moment. >> Yeah. Okay. Uh, so what's the address of that person then? >> Do you have it? >> His address? Yeah. Hold on one second. All right. So, this where we're at, >> huh? >> I said this is where we're at. Um, you're claiming to be law enforcement. >> Not law enforcement. >> Okay. Now, you changed your story. >> Department. No. Department of Justice. I told you that. >> Yeah. But you also said law enforcement. I have it on recording here. You said Yeah. But so that's strange. And then you don't have an ID and I'm not allowed to talk to any of your supervisors or anyone that's able to confirm your identification. >> What are they going to do? >> Secret agent. >> But what are we doing here? >> What are we doing here? >> Yeah. >> Right now you're detained for a crime. >> What crime? >> Impersonating law enforcement until I can figure out otherwise. So, >> the burden of proof lies on the suspect, but it's clear he can't provide anything that would prove he's indeed working under the government. >> That's not normal out of my years of experience and being around law enforcement that you can't carry an identification card. >> What do I do, buddy? >> Yeah, but if you left the country, say that was true, and you left the country, you just leave your ID at home. You're in the States. >> I can't take it with me either. I can't take it with me. I can't take nothing with me. Like I'm going to Paraguay the 25th. Okay. I can't take no form of American identification with that. That doesn't make any sense. I'm just being I'm just I'm I'm >> that doesn't make any sense. I'm just being honest with you. That makes that makes no sense. I'm just being honest with you. You just work for Department of Justice as a whole, but what entity of Department of Justice or what law enforcement group of Department of Justice? >> What I do is I go to different countries and I mediate uh let's say there's going to be an uprising or a coup or something like that. I mediate try to mediate that and bring it down to a lower level. That's what my my job is. >> Okay. And you said you're actively investigating this place for a crime, right? >> I'm not. >> You just said a minute ago you're investigating something. >> I'm not investigating. I am giving information back. So I'm doing I'm don't do the investigation. That's my supervisor. >> And your supervisor is not able to be reached by phone. It's that secretive that he can't even talk to me. >> He He won't. No. Wow. >> He won't because the ID is them. >> You can't give his name. Can you give his name out either? Yeah, I can give you a name out is Elliot. That's all he is. >> Oh, just Elliot. Okay. >> That's all I know him. But >> it's all you know him as. Okay, >> man. You're going to make me late from this call. >> You know where I am. You know where I live. Any problem? Come back. Come get me. >> Come see me. >> Yeah, that may be. But we're going to hang tight. >> Moments later, a supervisor arrives at the scene. Hello. >> Hey. So, what where where do you work for under the Department of Justice? >> I never know who I'm going to be working for. >> Okay. >> The last guy I worked for >> Who's your supervisor right now? >> Huh? >> Who's your supervisor right now? >> His name is Elliot. >> Elliot. >> I can't get I don't know his last name. >> Can't give it out. Nest. >> Know his last name. >> Elliot Nes. >> He said he can't give it out. >> You can't give it out. Okay. >> Super secretive. >> All right. >> Do you have his phone number? No, >> I never contact them. They contact me. >> Yes. Very secretive. >> Yeah. >> Okay. All right. What was What was the last investigation you conducted? >> You don't have to give me any names or no locations. >> It was up in uh and I don't do the investigation. >> I'm just checking the box. >> I uh it was up in Sarasota. People are selling dogs scam thing >> went in and bought a dog so to speak and then they would have it was possible that we just do >> you have a weapon on you. >> He has Okay. >> Do you have trouble? >> I'll show you here. Okay. Every law enforcement officer Okay. And that's what you're saying you are, right? a law enforcement officer. >> You're forced to lie. >> I work for the Department of Justice investigation. >> All right. >> What do you got? >> So, this right here. Okay. This is saying that I have full arrest powers. Take it. >> Yeah. Saying I have full arrest powers and I have the ability to carry a concealed weapon. Okay. That's given to me by my boss. All right. Do you have anything like that from you from your boss? >> No. >> Okay. >> They won't they won't give us stuff like that. >> Okay. Because if we're thrown out of the country, >> we can't take ID only driving. >> But yet, you got a badge that's enormous. Now, this badge, >> um, no. Uh, sure. Let me see it. >> A badge without an ID means nothing. But the suspect clearly doesn't understand that. >> Yeah. >> Can I take it out of the case? Yeah, if you can get it out. >> Been in there a long time. >> I bet. >> Wait, >> don't drop it. Drop a second. >> There's no number on the back of it. >> No, they don't have to. >> Yeah, >> let me tell you. Hey guys, listen. >> No, this is what's what we're doing right now. This is what we're listening to. Okay, so right now you're being detained. Do you understand that? I >> I don't understand why. Okay. Because you're you're you know impersonating a law enforcement officer. >> I'm not. >> Okay. I'm not saying a law enforcement officer. I work for our government. >> All right. So, who do you work for? >> The Department of Justice. >> Okay. >> That's all I do. Do >> you know what? Can Can you tell me the different areas of the Department of Justice? >> Investigations. >> Okay. What else? >> That's all I do. >> Okay. Like what agency within the Department of Justice? Well, it's mostly foreign stuff like um I'm >> foreign stuff like office of what? >> Scheduled to go to Paraguay the 25th. >> I'm scheduled to go to Paraguay the 25th of March. >> Okay. For for who? >> Department of Justice. >> Okay. All right. That's not how the Department of Justice works. >> Oh, yeah. Okay. >> That's like him being in the army saying, "Well, I work for the Department of Defense." But he works for the Army. So, what agency under the Department of Justice do you work for? >> Pretty much all of them. >> Name one. Give me one. Give me two. Uh, just because in case you get lucky. Give me two areas of the Department of Justice. >> Foreign uh >> foreign investigations. >> Okay. Nope. >> No, we have a different name for that. >> Why are you guys busting my I'm not doing anything wrong >> except for lying >> right now. So, until proven otherwise. So, >> and this is we're investigating a felony. I'm just letting you know. >> The officers give him one last chance, urging him to prove his story before things get any worse. >> So, knowing that you're that what you're claiming to be a federal agent, okay, is being investigated for a felony, I would be calling up my supervisor right now. >> Yeah. >> What's your supervisor's number? Not allowed. >> And I can call him. >> I'm not allowed. I'm telling you. I'm not allowed. >> Will he accept calls from jail? >> All right. I guess you guys got to do what you got to do. >> Yeah. We're >> Yeah, I'm trying to get a hold of Chris Morales. He knows a lot about what I do. >> Hey, so he says he works for the Department of Justice. I'm like, well, what what agency within it? And he says the four and what? >> All of them at first. Yes. >> Yeah. He works for all of them. >> Yeah. >> But the foreign >> foreign investigations >> foreign investigations department of the DOJ, >> but he has no no ID. He's carrying a weapon. Right. Exactly. Okay. I I don't know to be honest. I don't even know how we ran into this guy. I've been running running ragged all day. Um but um but yeah, he he says cuz I got um the image is right. We had uh because I had I don't know if you know Wokei, he works with the um Yeah. So he's ask Yeah. He's asking those guys down there and they're like, "No, it looks uh I think the the term they used was fake as so." Exactly. That bag is worthless. >> Officers put the matter to rest, making it clear they're not buying into any of his claims. Our contacts with the FBI say negative. >> The term was it's fake as >> what? >> Turn off your car, please. >> It's off. >> No, it's off. His car's off. >> Your car is off. Yeah, I already off. >> Yeah, >> yeah. Step on out real quick. >> Can you walk or do you need your walker? >> I'm sorry. >> Can you walk? Okay. Or do you normally use your walker? >> I usually use my walker. >> Can I get it for you? >> Yeah. >> What's going on? So, we need to stand up and talk about >> Yeah. >> There you go. Okay. Yeah. We'll start over here real quick. >> All right. So, you're getting placed under arrest for impersonating law enforcement officer. Okay. It's a felony. And I'm also going to charge you with carrying a a firearm in the commission of a felony. Okay. Yeah. We we looked into all that. Um I I've been around long enough work with federal entities that we're not we're not buying it. Just long story short. Okay. >> Not going to any good tomorrow. My our supervisor knows everybody our intelligence unit knows the uh the federal agents already know. We're already talking to federal agents about this. So they already know. So it's going to be no surprise. Okay. >> Like I said, if you give us a a supervisor, we will gladly call. >> He's looking now. He's trying to find one. >> Who's that? The >> police officer just call me PD. >> Yeah, we we're done with the secret agent stuff. >> Yeah, we're all done. >> In the back of that car, >> you're going to jail. >> We'll go have to call somebody when you get to jail. When you get to jail, >> I'll get your phone for you. >> Yep. We got all that gentlemen. I've been a gentleman the whole time, too. Okay. So, if I say I'm going to get your phone, trust me. That'll go with us. Okay. >> Weapons on you. >> He's got it. >> No, I got it. Yeah. Just come here. I'm going to I'm going to search him here. Just hang tight right there. >> No other weapons other than that pistol. Right. Okay. What's this? >> With the suspect's age, the arrest is hard to watch, but it's his decisions that landed him here. >> That's a band that I already moved the firearm out of. >> Okay. I just got to I don't know if I can get in here. >> I've got you. I'm just supporting you. Okay, there you go. Good. Okay. Very good. Very good. Okay. >> Oh, this is so tight. If I get my leg in. >> There you go. I slide the other one in, right? >> Yeah. >> Where's my car going to be? >> Or it's going to get towed. I'm going to give you the tow sheet for it. Okay. >> What? >> It's going to get towed. I'm going give you toi side. Your other foot in there. Just a little more. Yeah, you can scoot back as far as you need. You just got to make that gap and your foot can slide under there. >> How do I get Am I going to be released tonight? >> Yeah, if you get if you get that bail, you you're a bond. You will >> What is the bail going to be? >> I don't No, I don't set the bales. But >> you got my gun, right? My >> I do. Yeah. It's going to go into evidence. Okay. All right. You're older and you got some health concerns, so I'm going to handcuff you in the front. Okay. Put your hands in the front of you. >> Can I have my phone so I can call my girl my girl and have her come get me? >> Not right now. At the jail, you can. Put your hands in your front of you. After all the work, I That's twisted. Can you turn it? >> The man was later charged with fraud and impersonating a federal officer. Number one, police surprises fraudster outside to the bank. In our final case, officers responded to a bank where staff reported a woman suspected of fraud. Here's what happened when the police arrived. >> Tony, the female stepping out. >> Hello. >> Hi, Orlando police. So, right now, you're temporary being detained. Okay. So, I'll let you know what's going on, but if you could just walk over here with me. >> Just sit down for me. >> Sit down. Yeah, you're fine. Did you come in a car or No, >> I did. >> You did? >> I didn't. I took a Uber. >> You took a Uber? >> I was scared to find any of the flowers. Hey, Dad. [Music] call me. >> Can I know what is going on? >> I I could only tell you once another unit gets here. The bank called. So, >> do you have an ID with you? >> Do you want to stay line with the caller? Do you have a Florida? >> No. >> ID or no? >> No. >> Okay. Are you from Texas or did you live Florida? >> No, I stayed in Texas. >> Stay in Texas. >> Yeah. >> Going to know exactly what's going on. >> Yeah. I told once the unit get comes here I'll let you know. So, right now I'm going to have to put you in separately in handcuffs. All right. So, just put your hands behind your back. You're not under arrest or anything. Okay. Right now, I just have to temporarily to change you. You want to lean forward? You could just taste these. >> So, you don't live in Florida? >> No. >> Are you visiting or >> I'm visiting? >> Visiting? Uh-huh. You say you're dropped off by Uber? >> Mhm. >> Did your Uber leave already or >> They left already. >> They left. Do you know what car they came in? >> Um, it was like a black car, but I don't remember the name. the type of car this >> for now. She's composed and compliant, providing her ID as requested. >> What is wrong? >> Yeah, like I said, we got a call from the bank, so I I'm not really sure what's going on. Obviously, I'm the only one here, so I still need somebody to go over there, talk to the bank teller, and I could get some answers for you. But obviously, I can't tell you what's going on if we still haven't talked to the bank teller. So, I just got to get another unit over here, and once we do that, we'll try to see what's going on. Okay. 90 West Boulevard. >> Why are you laughing? >> Cuz that's weird. Why is it weird? >> Did the telephone call you guys? >> Mhm. >> What? >> That's what we're trying to figure out. >> Oh, because I'm black. I'm >> sure it's not because you're black. >> Because I'm black. >> I don't think so. >> What's your date of birth? 98. >> 88. >> 88. So that makes you how old? >> How old do I look? >> Hm. >> How old do I look? >> I don't know. You look pretty young. So how old are you now? >> 29. >> 28. >> 29. >> 29. You're born in 1988. You're 29. You look very young. Like you're 25. Like how old do I look? >> 30s. >> 30s? So you think I'm older than you? >> Dang. I have to go get a facial treatment soon, huh? >> Oh my god. >> I got to get some Botox. Saying I look 30. If you're 29 and I'm 30, >> you know, some Asian. You might look uh you might look older than you. How old are you? >> Me? >> 23? >> Really? >> You're 23. >> And I can't believe you just called me. I'm 30. >> I'm sorry. >> So, do I look 30? It's cuz I have a three-year-old. I guess that's what kids do to you. >> Really? >> Now that another unit has arrived, the female officer goes inside to gather details directly from the staff. Okay. >> This officer is going to stand by with you and I'm going to go inside and check on what's going on. Okay. Tell me what happened today. >> She came in wanting access to the account. And when >> this account here? >> Yes. And anytime we pull up an account, if there's warnings or anything on like immediately starts flashing at us and I and my tell her needed overrides to get in and once we start reading the notes, it says please call y'all. Um that she's committed identity theft. She's tried to open multiple accounts with different IDs. That's just an example of one of the other ones that she >> but that was stuff that's already been done. What did she do today? >> It's just basically >> trying to get into this fraudulent account. >> She just tried to get in this account. >> Mhm. >> So, is this an active account? >> No, it's locked up completely. Yeah. And then she's presented that ID on the back there. I opened another account with that ID. >> The 1982 where you >> Yeah. So, she was just trying to get access to money today. >> Yes. Yeah, I think we got enough units, so we don't need >> changing. So, first she's like, I need my online banking. I need to take money out now. I need to put money in. She kept saying like all these different things. Um, but I couldn't do any of it. >> Yeah. Okay. >> 43 to 40. Um, it appears she came up here and tried to take money out of an account that has already been flagged for frozen stuff. She has a different ID on the back. has attack. >> You do me a favor. Get her started on the statement. >> Her. Okay. >> Now, one of the officers reaches out to the person whose information was used in the fraud. >> Hello. >> Hey, how are you doing? Is this Jessica? This is Detective Delgado with the Orlando Police Department. >> At the what? I'm sorry. >> With the Orlando Police Department. >> Yes, this is her. >> How are you doing? >> I'm okay. >> I just got a I got a question for you. Uh the reason I'm reaching out to you is cuz we're we're out here with a female at a bank uh Additions Financial who uh who opened an account here at Additions Financial and has been making withdrawals and deposits into this account. Um and she presented a Texas driver's license and on the Texas driver's license, I believe it has your information. Um >> so yeah. So pretty much I guess this chick from what I'm understanding cuz I just got called out for this um is she she opened an account at Additions Financial in Orlando actually in Point Siana um back like in December of 2023. Um since then she's been doing like a couple little transactions. She really hasn't done anything major yet like deposit some crazy ridiculous uh amount of uh like a frozen check or anything yet. Um, but that's usually what they don't do that usually till after the account is groomed a little bit. It seemed like they were getting ready to do it now. Um, so I guess my question to you is did you give anyone permission to have any of your information on the Texas driver's license? That's not your photo. >> Oh, no, I did not. >> No. Okay. Um, and then with that being said, are do you want this person to, you know, are you willing to press charges against this person for for having an ID with your information on it? I sure will. >> Okay. Um, and you didn't give anyone permission to have your information, right? Like you didn't give anyone at all permission to put your information on a Texas driver's license. >> Oh, I don't know anybody in Florida. >> Yeah, she's right now we're in Orlando, Florida, but I guess she's been around cuz she opened the account in Point Sienna, according to the bank. Um, >> she's now at the back of the cruiser and in cuffs. The questioning will be what will be coming next. >> Okay. Have you ever been read your rice before? >> She read my rice. A young lady read my rice. >> She did? >> Mhm. >> Okay. She's not here. I don't know if she did or she didn't. I'm just going to read you them just to verify that I know that they've been read to you. >> Okay. >> Okay. Other than today, have they ever been read to you before in the past? >> Yeah. >> Okay. Uh so if you have any questions, just ask me. All right. >> Okay. >> You have the right to remain silent. Do you understand? >> Mhm. >> Anything you say may be used against you in court. Do you understand? Mhm. >> You have the right to talk to a lawyer before and during questioning. Do you understand? >> I just say yes. If you cannot afford a lawyer and want one, one will be provided for you before questioning without charge. Do you understand? Do you want me to move your hair to the side for you? Yes, please. >> All right. >> Thank you. >> Is it all How long is this going to take? >> Uh I Let me get through this and then we keep going. All right. Has anyone threatened you or promised you anything to get you to talk to me? >> No. >> No. Okay. Can we talk about what's going on? >> Yes. >> Okay. Um, so before I got here, what what have they told you? What have they talked to you about? What do you know? >> I don't know. All of I went to the bank. >> Okay. >> Trying to see if I could deposit some money onto my debit card and I come outside. They Well, first off, the lady took too long to even open back my account cuz >> I've been calling the bank >> to see what was going on with my bank. >> Okay. came up here to try and talk to them about my bank and they said, "Oh, I got to wait five minutes." Which is like weird to me. So now I >> decided I had to go. I wanted to use the bathroom or whatever. >> Mhm. >> Now I need to pee. >> But now um they're telling me that as I come outside, this young lady then proceeded to tell me I'm going to be detained and I still don't know what's going You say young lady, an officer. >> Yes. >> And at least for now, she's being honest. >> At this point, when you come outside, you're not dealing with the bank anymore. You come outside and there's an officer outside >> and she detains you. >> Yeah. >> Okay. What happens after that? >> After that, I don't know. Like she's telling me, she don't know what's going on. She didn't tell me exactly what's going on. Okay. >> And just lead to this this situation. >> Okay. How long have you been banking with Addition Financial? Um, I started banking with them about the beginning of this year. >> Okay. >> So, like early like January this year, maybe late of like maybe December of last year or for sure was 2024 or you're not too sure. >> I think it was December. >> December the ending of December. >> Okay. Um, >> no, no, I'm lying. So, yeah, it was around November. >> November. around November. >> So November last year. >> Yeah. >> Okay. Where did you open the account at? Did you open it here? Did you open it? >> No, I opened it in CMI. >> In CMI. Do you live in CMI? >> No, my aunt lived in CMI. >> Okay. So, were you saying with your aunt? Why would you open the account in CMI? >> No, I was saying with my aunt at the time. >> And when you opened the account, was this the ID that you presented? >> Yes. >> Okay. So, is your first name Jessica? >> Jessica. >> Okay. What's your date of birth? >> Uh, October 1st. What year? >> Okay. How tall are you? >> I'm 5'6. >> 5'6. Okay. How long have you had this driver's license? >> Um about 2 years. >> 2 years. Okay. Uh since you've opened the account here at Additions, uh have you been the money going in and out? Have you been making any deposits? >> So, that's exactly what I was trying to talk to them about. I didn't The account has been has been acting weird. Like when I logged in, they say that uh it was too much >> uh too much time. So I've been trying to log into the account. So when I >> like online, >> yes, that's why I came up here to talk to them about. >> Okay. >> For now, she plays the victim, telling officers someone else is accessing her account, but it's only a matter of time before that story unravels. >> Uh so since November and now, have you been getting like direct deposits in the account? Do you use the account regularly or? >> No, I haven't been using the account regularly. The only time I try cuz I was going to put some money on on the account right now and >> Okay. >> I couldn't do that because they was telling me that they was trying to open finish um with the account. >> Okay. >> Uh or you going to deposit cash or check? >> I was going to deposit cash. >> Okay. So, do you have cash on you? >> Yes, it's in my wallet. >> Okay. How much how much cash is it? >> It's 100. >> 100? >> Mhm. >> Okay. So, you're coming to deposit 100 bucks cuz we're going to put money in the account. >> Yeah. that debit card. Have you used it at all? >> Yes, I have used it a couple times. >> Okay. Uh if how much do you know what the account balance is right now on the account? How much you got in the account? I can move it to the side for you. >> Uh about $25 right now. >> $25. >> Yeah. >> In total, how much have you put in and out of that account? Do you know? >> You know, I haven't put in anything since the debit card has been since the account has been acting up. I haven't really put anything in that account. >> Okay. Uh, have you tried to open an account at Addition Financial anywhere else? >> No. >> No. Okay. Um, do you recognize that ID? >> No. >> With your photo on it? >> No. >> You don't recognize that? So, according to Additions Financial, they said you've tried to open another account with that same ID with your photo on it, with a different ID, different name. You know anything about that? I mean, it's here, you know, the same photo as that photo, right? And which is why we're here, right? Now, if I told you that I talked to Miss Jess on the phone before coming in and talking to you, would you believe me? Or do you think I'd be lying to you? >> At this point, it's obvious the officer isn't falling for her story. >> I don't know. >> What do you think? I've been truthful with you this whole time. I don't think you've been very truthful with me. Okay. So, we can be truthful about what's going on or we can continue to lie about it. And I got to notate that you continue to lie to me about it. They called me out here to speak to you for a reason. Okay? I dealt with cases like this plenty. I've been doing this for a couple years, investigating just this kind of stuff alone. All right. I know you're not miss okay but I want to know what's really going on to see if there's anything that I can do for you. There's two other guys out here that are waiting for you in your car. Right. >> That's not my car. >> It's not your car. Okay. Well, two guys out here waiting in a car for you that are stopped around the corner that you can't see right now. >> Okay. So at this point, I think your story would have worked for someone who works at Addition Financial, but I think you and I both know law enforcement has a little bit more information than what Addition Financial is going to have. Okay. If this isn't you, why would you tell me this is you? I can tell you usually the person that goes in and opens the account and makes the withdrawals and deposits ain't the person who's making all the money in the end, right? When that big $20,000 check hits mobile deposit or ATM and $20,000 come out, I'm sure you ain't getting all of that. You're getting a piece of it for what you did, but you ain't getting it all. I know you're the little fish here, and I'm trying to give you an opportunity to talk to me about what's going on. Officers are no strangers to this scam, and it seems she's just a small piece in a much bigger ring. >> But if you're not willing to talk to me, not willing to be truthful with me, there's not much more that I can do for you. Okay. So, what's going on? >> Um, you're right. what's going on. >> I got a general idea of what's going on, right? But you're the one who's who's going to know the details about what's going on. And that's what I want to know. That's the only way I'm will I can I can do anything for you is if I know the actual details, the overall picture. That's the overall picture for everybody's story. You know what I mean? How can I help you? How can I put in my narrative that you were truthful with me >> and tell the state attorney later on, hey, she was truthful with me rather than lying to me and continue to lie to my face. It's going to be as long as you want it to be or as quick as you want it to be, right? >> I mean, this is going to take longer and eventually. >> I mean, it it could it's going to be long. I'd be lying to you if I if if I didn't tell you it wasn't long. But it can be extra hours or it can be >> and and that's the only way we can hurry this process up is if we be truthful with one another. Okay. >> How about Florida ID? >> Where's your ID out of >> Well, where like what state is it out of? Is that Florida, Texas? At Georgia? >> Yes. >> Are you from Georgia? After all the denials, the truth finally comes out. >> You're from where? >> New York. >> Okay. Did you ever live in Georgia? >> I still live here. >> Okay. So, what what brought you down here? >> Um, this >> this Okay. I figured that, but I wanted to hear from you. Uh, is someone employing you? Are you getting paid to do this? >> I'm getting paid, right? >> Okay. How much are you getting paid? >> 500 >> 100,000 >> 5,000 after what though? >> You're not getting 5,000 just for opening an account. What has to be done before you get the 5,000? >> Just this. >> Huh? >> Just this. >> Just open it and then eventually they'll hit the account for whatever they hit it for and then they'll break you off the five or they usually break you off the five up front. >> Uh break it off the five up front. >> They break it off up front. Okay. Is it these guys that you with? No. >> Or they just working? >> Just driving. >> They just working just like like you work. >> Do you know them? >> Personally, no. >> Just do through the job. >> No, they they're not a part of like I just asked them to drop me off to the gas to the bank cuz they have nothing to do with it. >> Okay. So, they got nothing to do with it. You just know them. Y'all not friends or whatever. Y just know each other. you know, we friends, but they not they don't have anything to do with >> What's going on in here? You just asked them, "Hey, give me a ride." >> Yeah. >> Okay. Um, >> whose car is that? That car that they in? >> Okay. Uh, the person that was driving uh girlfriend. >> Girlfriend? >> Yeah. >> Okay. And you were sitting in the front passenger seat. >> Mhm. >> Is there anything else in that car >> that belongs to this or anything that's involved with this addition financial thing? >> No. >> My debit card and and credit card is in here. Okay. >> Uh, what happened to my uh, friends? >> They're still over there. I got to go talk to them. Cash app. But if you're saying it got nothing to do with them, >> I'm going to talk to them and see what they got to say. Right. I can't take every everything you say for face value. You already lied to me once. >> Now she begins to talk, revealing the finer points of the scheme and those behind her actions. >> You said, "I just want to make sure I get your cards, though. Cash app and what's the other one?" >> It's a cash app and a fifth day card. A Fifth Third? >> Mhm. >> That's your actual bank? >> Uh Fifth Third? Yes. >> Okay. And that says Fiola Samson on it. >> Yes. >> All right. And now you live in Georgia. Supposed to get paid 5K. How do they pay you the 5K? >> Uh they was going to pay after this is done. >> But like they cash app you. They sell you. >> No, they was going to give it to me cash. >> Okay. Are they around here? Are they local? >> No, they're not over there. >> Where do they give How do you you meet up with them? >> Uh usually I meet up with them >> where Um, it's what is it called? OBT. They call it OBT. >> OBT. >> Yeah. >> You know where on OB? OBT is long road. It's a long strip. >> You don't know. >> It's probably not even the real address. >> How did you get in contact with these people? How did you start talking to them? >> Uh, I guess because of where I would work at. >> Where you work at? Um, I have two jobs in Orlando and one of them it's uh me working in a club. >> Work in a club. Okay. >> Like a like a for like a a um bottle girl. >> A dancer. >> Dancer. >> What's the other job? >> I work for McDonald's. >> McDonald's. >> Yeah. Don't let nobody know that though. So they met you while while you were dancing, while you were working, and they missed all that. They cut you, you know, said, "Hey, I get you this deal." Whatot they How How many of these accounts have you open for 5K? This the first one? >> This is the first one. Well, this will be the second. >> So the first one you did, they gave you the 5K. >> No, I didn't. I didn't get it because that one didn't go through. Chang did not go through. >> Okay. So Chang was the first one. >> Yeah. >> That you tried to put through. >> Yeah. I know it was attempted cuz I talked to him on the phone. It actually didn't go through. >> The fake accounts were designed to feed into the ring's larger transactions, making them harder to trace. >> This one was in points. Where did you try to open this one at? >> I think the same area. >> Same area over there. >> Kiss me around there. Yeah, they said this was the first one that didn't go through. Then that was the second one that went through. And then you were supposed to get the 5K after this. Okay. What do you know these these dudes by? They live in Georgia or Well, they said they met you here on OBT. >> No, when I Well, I met them out here when I was working in the club. >> Oh, so you're working at a club here on OBT and that's how you met them? Yeah. >> So, that was the concept. Do you know them by name or anything? >> No, not their real name. >> What do you know them by? >> I only call them J. >> J. >> Yeah. Is it two guys, three guys? >> It was just one >> just so one guy name goes by Jay >> J. But I don't know his like deal and like what he was doing. >> Yeah, he's probably involved in some other stuff. Obviously that's piece there's pieces to everything, right? This is just your this was your piece. His piece is probably something else. >> Um Okay. You met J Otiola Samson Georgia DL. How long have you been here in Orlando? >> I've been staying here 6 months and then I just usually move back and forth. >> Okay. And when you're here, are you staying with family in CMI? >> No, I actually would uh have like a Airbnb when I'm like dancing out here. >> Gotcha. Okay. So, you come down here, you dance, you make your money, you stay at the Airbnb, then you just bounce back and forth. Where's the money better at? Just curious. >> Both. >> This about the same. Mhm. >> Okay. When you're here, what do you dance here? Where? >> Yeah. >> Uh the palace sometimes. Uh Cleo's. >> Okay. >> Stars. >> That area over there. >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> Now, you lied to me once. I'm going to go over there and I'm going to talk to them. >> Now, it's time to wrap up the questioning. >> Are they really not a part of this? >> They're not a part of this. >> Okay. And the only thing that's in the car is just your >> debit card. >> Two debit cards. >> Yeah. >> Okay. Um do you have any questions for me before I go over there? >> No. >> All right. Let me see what I can find. >> Traffic. >> Ah, I know that. But they already locked the door there. And once this guy starts moving, um, he's going to go directly to the jail. Now, if he goes directly to the jail, you can use the bathroom when you get to the jail. He can't from here with the traffic maybe 15 20 minutes. But it's better than sitting in the car waiting, right? One and two. When you get to the jail, you can use the bathroom. He can't stop at like a Wendy's and pull over. Let's use the bathroom. It's against our policy, so we couldn't do it even if we wanted to. >> And I can't use the bathroom somewhere. >> Nah, we can't allow you to do that. Let me let me let me get with him so we can get you out of here so you use the bathroom at the jail. Okay. You got any questions? >> No. >> All right. I appreciate you being with for information after the fact. I knew you was I just wanted to see how far you were going to take it. You were going to take it all the way to the end. I give you that. I give you that you were going to try and I give you that, but it wasn't going to work for me. All right. >> The woman's friends were found innocent. The suspect, however, was hit with a long list of charges, including unauthorized possession of a fictitious Florida driver's license, unlawful possession of four or fewer identifications, fraudulent use of personal identification, and fraud by impersonation with intent to defraud. What do you think? Did they get what they deserved? Let me know in the comments and I'll catch you in the next
