Getting caught shoplifting is already embarrassing, but these suspects somehow made the situation even more ridiculous. Here are four cases when officers couldn't keep a straight face with these entitled shoplifters. Number four. Serial shoplifter gets busted, acts like she didn't see it coming. On January 30th, 2024, officers responded to a call at a local Walmart after staff reported a familiar face was back in the store. They say the woman had already been banned for shoplifting before, and now she's returned anyway, setting the stage for another confrontation. You're placed under arrest for criminal trespass. I barred you from here. Oh. You're not supposed to be back. You know that, right? I didn't know I wasn't allowed. You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can and will be used against you in court. You have the right to an attorney. If you cannot afford one, one will be appointed to you. You have the right to an attorney. You have the right to remain silent. All questions you have will be answered. All right. Okay. Do you understand your constitutional rights? Yes. Okay. Make sure that's on the video. Make sure you check for weapons. Okay. All right. You have the right to remain silent. You have the right to You can go ahead and issue another trespass warning. All right. Come on out here. All right. Come on out here. We're going to search your pockets. Make sure you don't have anything on you. How many layers do you got on? I mean, it's cold outside and I door dashed, so I mean, I have several. Spread your feet for me. Mhm. Officers take the suspect to store security, and during the search, they come across something that makes it clear the staff's allegations weren't just a hunch. I mean, it's pouring rain outside. Okay. Look at that. You just say you don't have anything on you. Yeah, all I have is my wallet. Maybe something in my front coat pockets. I mean I mean, I don't know. I have two layers on today. How many pairs of pants do you have on, though? So, I know there's nothing inside of that. >> three. Three? Yeah. There's nothing in my inside pockets at all. No back pockets. You said you have three pants on? Yeah. I'll check your drawers. You got it. Yeah. Hey, Joy. Why do these pants still have tags on them? Well, I just threw them on in my closet. So, there's a couple of questions getting ready to happen, okay? I want to see my lawyer. Yeah. Well, they're going to read you your rights. We have a couple of questions and we'll read you your rights when we have a couple of questions, I read you I read you your rights already. Okay. So, the woman that when you go when you go to the fitting room, they tell you the number of items you have. That's probably the one that has a tag on it. She has clothes on. Right. And you have tags on your pants. And everything up to that point over in this area before she goes into the fitting room is on video. So, did you have our clothes on or anything underneath your pants? Did you put anything in your drawers on today? That's not a real definite no. I want to see my lawyer. All right. Well, we have to figure out a way to get these pants and then go. Do you have any clothes? No. They'll either come off Do you have anything on underneath those pants with the tags on them? Cuz whether you want to talk to us or not, whether whether you want to talk to us or not, it's Walmart property, so it's being returned to them. I can either get them from here at the jail. Even with the evidence right there, the suspect tries to brush it off like it's no big deal, but her words don't get far. And you're going to be charged with theft cuz you walked out with it. You don't throw a pair of pants on at the house with tags on. You don't talk to me about it. I'm not asking any questions about it, but I know those are Walmart's pants, so they're going back to Walmart. I can get them here at the jail. But I I want you to be I want you to be modest, so I want to make sure you got clothing on underneath that. You had an opportunity to be honest. And I'm going to be honest with you. There's another case from yesterday waiting on you because you came in and didn't say anything yesterday. So, I want to ask you a question now. or we can put that case together and and end up with another theft theft charge for doing the same exact thing yesterday. Okay. I'll see if I can get somebody else to run over there. All right. Thanks, man. See you. All right. That's good. And why was it illegal to try on clothes? You walked out of the store without paying for it yesterday. Sorry. That's all right. Okay. What did you try on in the fitting room cuz we know you were in there? Tried on two pair of green slacks Uh-huh. and a pair of jeans that I had in my back pocket. And then three pairs of green slacks. And that was it. I had four items. Joy, how about a white sweatshirt? No. You sure? Let's watch the video. Because it [clears throat] was in the top basket of your cart you carried it in. You want to watch the video? So, I don't know why you have to make this difficult. I've never been rude to you or anything. It's just honesty is on video. We've never been >> that back. I didn't try it on either. So, that's that's coming back from the jail then, not here. We can get it at the jail. Yeah, we'll bring them back. Just makes everything more difficult and takes longer, but um she's in our system cuz this is the original from that day. Look in the packet for it. Oh. The sweatshirt was one that got discarded yesterday. It wasn't in the bag. If you just want to put that in the bag. I had a sweatshirt underneath that. Now that officers have gathered all the information and evidence they need, it's time to escort the suspect out and take her in to face the consequences. All right. Well, you're going to go with us to the jail for theft. We'll get those clothes off of you at the jail and bring them back up here. So, you ready? We'll get you your receipt when we come back. All right. Thanks. Take your drink. I told you this was going to happen. Hi. How are you? Good. Can you go to Can you go to the Hickory Street side of the church where we do our training at? Right here. Right here, Joe. Um either I'm doing I got There's a guy there waiting on me to get video, but I'm obviously dealing with her, so I can't go. Hickory Hickory Street entrance. Mike just called me and said he's there with my video. Hickory Street by the Tabernacle? The Tabernacle Church. Hickory side entrance. All right, Joy. Hop on out there. Straight through the big metal doors there. Right here. Stand right here and face the glass. Joy, do you have any plans to harm yourself or anybody else while you're in jail? Do you have any major mental or medical health issues? No. Okay. Thank you. This is Joy Brown. Um Joy Brown, how are you? She's wearing several layers of stolen stolen Walmart merchandise underneath the clothes there. She won't come off it and say it's Walmart merchandise, but I'm going to take it back and make sure. So, still got tags on it. Since this wasn't the suspect's first incident at this Walmart, the store pushed things further this time, and she was charged with felony retail theft and trespass after warning. Number three. Officers catch Walmart shoplifter at the perfect moment. On January 27th, 2025, officers responded to a local Walmart after surveillance allegedly caught a male customer shoplifting multiple items by stuffing them inside his jacket. Here's what happened when officers made contact with the suspect. Robert. What's in your What's in your jacket? What's What's in your jacket? What's in your jacket? You got a big bulge in your jacket. Yeah, you you have a CTW here, man. Okay. Okay. Well, you you got a CTW here. You're not supposed to be here, man. All right, man. That's cool. I didn't know that. All right. Do you mind Yeah, do you mind turning around, put your hands behind your back? Do you mind turning around, put your hands behind your What's What's in there? Let's go. Let's go. Is it going to fall out? Stop. Stop. Stop. What else you got? What else you got? I think it says Walmart right there, no? The moment it's clear he's been caught, the suspect starts spiraling. Can Can Can you mind looking at the cameras real quick? Thank you. Okay. I'm going to search him. Walk this way. Walmart and Central. You can empty your jacket here. He keeps rambling non-stop trying to confuse the situation and slip out of trouble. Unfortunately for him, these officers know exactly what they're looking at. If they told you to come over here, you wouldn't have a CTW. >> didn't know I had a CTW, bro. They said they You got anything else in there? What's happening in your What's happening in your city? Shoplifter thought no one was watching at Target. On February 18th, 2025, officers responded to a call at a local Target after staff reported a woman [music] had attempted to steal from the store. However, the bigger issue is that this isn't her first time. She's a repeat offender, and Target is ready to hold her accountable. All right. I got a good indication. I'm like, when we get to the door, I just want to stop her. Yeah. Hi. What's going on? >> stopped her in the perimeter here for something. It's two items. Um it is a little bit lower dollar, $25. He said um And then this one. This one. I don't know if he can hear me cuz I can also do a stop there for me. Um right. So, it popped. 10-15. As she's walking out. 10-10. Yeah. Mhm. You got the 324.
