Mark, >> you better tell me the truth about everything. Or was this just a delusional lie about that girl? >> Listen, >> Robert, you're detained right now. You don't want to do am I detained? >> Robert, >> listen. That taser ain't going to do that pepper ain't going to do. >> Most work days end with employees clocking out. These ones end with officers walking them out instead. Here's when employees think being fired is against the law and end up in handcuffs. New hire makes a careerending decision. On February 10th, 2026, [music] officers were dispatched to a Walgreens after management reported an employee allegedly stealing from the store. Here's what they told officers upon their arrival. >> My ATM is in there. >> Are the employees in there? >> Yeah. >> So, what's Before we go in there, what's what's going on? >> Uh, she'll come and talk to you. Well, we got to I want to know what your side of the story first. >> Okay. So, he just got hired in January >> and he's not even 30 days yet. He stole like $920 just taking by taking cash from the register. >> So, >> which he admitted. >> Okay. >> So, but how do you guys want to go about this? Is this you guys need a report from us and that needs to be trespass on there or do you guys want to press charges on? >> Press charges. Okay. >> You guys don't want to like return the money, nothing like that. You guys want it to be just press charges. >> Yeah. Well, yeah, he has already agreed to repay the walk because it's a felony. >> Yeah. >> Yeah, that's perfectly fine. But >> I'm just asking before we go through this, do you guys want to press charges? >> Correct. >> Okay. >> Okay. >> Okay. >> Do you guys have videos >> like video and everything like that? >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> So, she's going to get >> Can we also see the video before The reason I'm saying this stuff is because before I move into any like us trying to do stuff, I got to make sure that we have it >> if I sound a little, you know what I'm saying? My apology. >> Just give us They're going to want They're going to want to press charges. >> That's Yeah. So, there's video. We just have to watch the video first and then we'll ask questions. >> All right. Once we get in there, >> huh? >> Once we get in there. >> Well, let's see. No, let's see the video first and then we'll and then we'll go from there. Okay. >> All right. Um, it's sorry, what was the total amount that you guys have? >> 920. >> 920 cash. >> Mhm. >> From the register. And then what date this happen? >> Started on January 29th and the last date is um on the 8th. >> February 8th. Yeah. >> Okay. So, it was a process throughout and then the total amount ended up to Okay. >> Correct. With the alleged losses totaling just under $1,000, management has already compiled the evidence officers need to begin their investigation. >> Okay. And then you have videos for each of those >> for the days that he that we have the losses. Yeah. So it's different days. >> Okay. >> January 29th. >> Okay. >> And then February 2nd, >> second, >> February 4th, >> February 6th, and February 8th. >> All right. Perfect. >> And I printed some transactions for you so you can see the dollar amount. >> Perfect. All right. Just uh give us a second. We'll walk back in. Okay. >> Okay. >> That was quick, but I'll I'll play it again. So, he's just dude no sale. Open the register and then you're going to see him take the money out and bend down. And then did he did you observe this before he confessed to you or he confessed to you and then you and I I did all of this first? >> Yeah7. >> So you were just watching them over time and just >> Yeah. So once she told me about it. So I look at cuz they they tracked the registers. Yeah. >> So I look for the days when the registers were short. >> Um and then just look for transactions that he ran. And then he, you know, he's a he has a patent. So either he'll do a no sale just to open the register. >> Um but he just put the money in his pocket. So he never put the the money that the guy gave him. He put And this is usually his MO2. He plays >> he like fidgets with the >> Yeah. So he he would um play like he's going to put the money in the register, but most of the time you can always tell when he's going to take it because the customer gives it to him. He folds it >> and then he he does everything with his left hand down and he has his right hand down. >> Then he'll go in his pocket and he'll play like he's doing something with the register >> and it's always unregistered. >> Okay, both of them are uh No, this one is um register 22. >> 22 >> and then the other one was register 23. >> Management tells officers the employee allegedly opened the register using no sale entries before [music] taking cash. Over the course of several transactions, the alleged total reached approximately $920. >> So there's like two transactions on register 23. >> So on 129, he took 200. On 24 he took 100. >> Yeah. So I have I have the amounts for all the So this one was 100. >> Yep. >> And that was on 24. >> Mhm. >> So these are the dates and the amount. So the no sale that was $20. And then what's a what's a no sale? Like he fought like >> you do something just to open the register. So like if somebody say oh can you change a dollar for me? >> They'll do no sale >> and then the register will pop open >> and then he could just you approached him when today. >> Yeah. So >> and then he [music] confessed everything to you. >> Yes. He said that he was having uh money problems. So that's why I did it. Hey, boss man. >> How you doing, sir? >> I'm good. I'm good. If you don't mind, just put your stuff right there on the counter for me. You going to find me now? >> Yeah. Yeah. I'm going to detain you real quick. All right. Just put your hands behind your back. Put them like you're praying. All right. >> Uh you can That looks uncomfortable, man. You could uh >> just uh >> like that. All right. >> Thank you. >> Am I going to jail? >> Uh we'll we'll talk about that in a second. Okay. Listen, is that comfortable right there? I'm not going to I'm not trying to, you know, as long as you're cool with me, I'm cool with you. You know what I'm saying? >> Yeah, most definitely. Most definitely. Thank you. >> Yeah. >> All right. I'm going to do a quick pass down on you. Okay. >> All right. Go ahead. >> You got no weapons on you. Poke me stick me. >> All that that's right there. That's everything you took out your pockets already. >> A key right here. Key to my house. >> You don't mind? Yeah. Yeah. Do you mind if I take it off? >> Yeah. Yeah, you're okay. Take it off. >> After placing him in handcuffs, the officers now begin questioning him about the allegations. >> Yeah, I know. I got you. >> No, no, no. >> All right, you can have a seat. I'm just going to speak to you. All right. >> Okay. >> I'm going to read your your Miranda rights and then we'll go from there if you want to speak to me or not. All right, boss man. You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can and will be used against you in the court of law. You have the right to an to have an attorney with you prior to, during, or after any questioning. If you cannot afford an attorney and desire one, the court will appoint you one. You may stop the questioning at any time by refusing to answer further or by requesting to consult with your attorney. Having these rights in mind, do you have do you understand each of these rights that I've explained to you? >> Yes. Having these rights in mind, do you wish to answer questions or make a statement at this time? >> No, I do not. I I fully receive everything you just spoke said to me. >> Okay. So, you don't want to make any statement at this time? >> Okay. So, you don't want to speak? Okay. No problem. >> I just wanted to ask um am I going to am I going to jail or am I getting a statement? Because they told me I could pay I could pay them back and I was I was I I was telling them I would pay them back. I would pay them back for >> for the money that I've stole. >> And they told me that I was supposed to be getting a mail. >> Got you. I read you your rights. I can't answer any questions at this time regarding that unless you want to speak to me. >> So, oh, so I'm going to jail now? >> Possibly. It's up to them. I'm We're trying to figure everything out right now. >> Um, if you want to just chill right here. All right. Give me one second. Okay. >> The officers now meet with management to confirm how the store wishes [music] to move forward. So, he said that you guys offered him to pay back the money. >> I know that's not happening, but I'm just saying that's what he told me. >> Yeah. I told him cuz they you do um civil demand. >> Mhm. >> So, I told him that he'll get a letter in the mail >> um from the representative for the civil demand. Okay. I told him that once he gets arrested and he goes through, he's going to have to go to court and part of >> um you know the the process is he's going to have to pay Walgreens back >> to that's civil. >> Yeah. >> Um um Macy's does the same thing. >> Yeah. >> But it's not in a lu of the rest. That's >> that's a civil thing. I was just >> and in there and I ra >> Yeah, >> cuz that's what he was like. He was like, "Oh, I thought D." I was like, "Listen, man. I actually You want to make a statement?" No. All right. How long do you think you might be since it's a federal crime, bro? >> Oh, it's a felony. >> So, I mean, it really comes down to the judge. >> I have no idea, honestly. >> Is this going to be a long process? >> No, this is the longest part. >> Everything. >> Sorry, babe. Can I show you tomorrow? >> First thing in the morning. >> And can I bail tomorrow? If he gives you a bail. Yeah. If he gives you bond then. Yeah. Bail out. Listen, as long as you're being chill with me, cuz I'm transporting you. As long as you're being chill with me, I'll be chill with you. >> What's up? >> You know what I'm saying? >> Yeah, bro. I appreciate that. I hate you. >> Everybody has their days. I get it. But as long as you're being cool with me, like, I don't mind. Like, I'll let you hit your vape like before we go into the car and stuff. Like, >> I I really need to use the restroom. >> Yeah. I'm just I'm just waiting for him to come back and I'll take you cuz he's just going to put all your property together. >> Yeah. I think now cuz bro I haven't talked to my mom in so long and now when I follow >> Do you have like a relationship with her and >> no right now you stay with who? >> My uncle and my grandma. >> Okay. >> With the store's decision made, officers explained to the suspect what he can expect moving forward. >> So like once I go downtown now, >> we're going to go downtown. >> Uhhuh. >> They're going to do your medical. >> Uh-huh. >> They're going to call you to the back. They don't they going to search you >> then you get changed then they'll let you I think after that once you get processed then they let you make your phone call >> and then >> and then they hold all my stuff. So everything I have here they're going to have it >> including the vape and stuff >> that I don't know if they actually let you take the vapes and do they let they don't let them take the vapes to to Maine, right? >> No, that's trash. >> Yeah, we got to throw them out. So listen, I'll let you hit it before we leave. >> Okay, >> but I got to dump it after. >> All right. Appreciate it. You have two phones. >> Yeah, two phones. One of them works, the other one's disconnected. >> Hey, Paul. So, I'm going to leave my my stuff right here. I'm going to take him to the bathroom. >> No, cuz we're not going to take >> Okay. Go to the restroom or >> Yeah. Just stand by. All right. That's uh all everything, right? >> Nothing else. >> You know where the bathroom's at? >> Yeah. >> Yeah. >> Over this way. >> Uh and then I'm going to search you. We're going to take your belts off. I'm going to take your shoes off. All right. >> Person in the room that came off. >> Can you make this a >> dude? Give me one second. My right. Just have a seat right here. All right. >> All right. Give me one second. Okay. >> Is your Do you go back here? It's comfortable. All right. >> It's all right. >> Huh? >> It's okay. >> Okay. >> In the end, the man was charged with grand theft. Police uncover [music] what a caregiver did to a 95year-old woman. On September 2nd, 2025, officers were dispatched to a [music] residence to investigate allegations that a caregiver had stolen thousands of dollars from a 95year-old woman through unauthorized credit card purchases and cash withdrawals. Here's how the investigation began. Thank you. >> United. >> What is this about? >> Is there any children? Are there any children in the house? >> You You already know what this is about. >> Ain't nobody going to tell you. You already know. >> I can see it in your face. >> You want us to leave the door locked? How do we >> Can I call my family and let them know what's going on? >> Yes. Everything one minute. Just do me a favor. Put your hands together like you're praying. >> Where's your Yeah. Put your hand like this. >> Okay. Cuz I'm really trying not to hurt you. Do you want me to >> Where's your um Where's your phone? >> It's in the room. >> You want me to grab it for you? >> Yes, please. >> In the room here? >> Yeah. >> What kind of phone is it? >> On top of the bed. >> Oh, okay. >> Um detect people who explain all of them. >> I can call somebody for you. Do you know their numbers or do you want to look them up? >> It's my mom, but I don't know if you want to call her or not. >> How this? >> Perfect. I got you. There we go. >> He's locking it so it doesn't get tighter on you. >> Okay. >> All right. Let's head over to the car. Take a ride to the station. Yeah. >> Do you need anything from me? >> Sorry. >> Do you need anything from me? >> Yeah, we're going to have a conversation at the station. >> I'm Detective Po, but we'll get to that when we get there. >> Can I change my slippers? I don't like those. >> They're going to get You're going to get new slippers, so don't worry about that. When we take you, you're going to get new slippers. So, >> let's go back here to the back of my truck. I'm going to turn around. You want the seat belt on or >> no? >> After being processed at the station, [music] the woman is escorted to an interview room where detectives begin by asking a series of routine background questions. >> So, >> Mhm. >> Like I said, I'm Detective Coach. >> Nice to meet you. >> Nice to meet you. Do >> you have any idea why we're here today? >> I don't know what's going on. Okay, let me just confirm some basic information for you. Okay. >> So, >> I'm going to check. >> Yeah. I am in charge of investigating a case. >> Mhm. >> Right now, you're currently under arrest >> for what? >> Uh, elderly exploitation, fraudulent use of a credit card, and fraudulent use of personal identifying information, which also falls under that credit card. >> Okay. >> Okay. I want to talk to you about the situation, but I have to read you your rights first. Okay, go ahead. >> You have the right to remain silent and to refuse to answer questions. Anything you say can and may be used against you in a court of law. >> You have the right to talk to an attorney before talking to me and to have an attorney here with you during questioning or now or in the future. If you cannot afford an attorney, one will be appointed for you. >> Okay. >> Knowing and understanding your rights, are you willing to speak to me now without an attorney? >> Yes. >> Can you tell me about your relationship with her? Basically, I used to take care of her. I used to, you know, bathe her, do everything what needs to be done as an elderly >> as her home health aid. >> Home health aid. Yes. >> Okay. It was that under value care or under >> seeds home that was under seed home. Yes. >> Okay. Uh until when were you her home health aid? >> Until April 2025. I started when was this point? last year, two years ago, I think it was. You know, I can't even remember. I think I think I was with her for almost 2 years. The suspect tells detectives [music] she worked 8our days caring for the victim for nearly 2 years. >> I started I think it was Oh crap. What year was the pandemic? >> 21 2020. >> 2021. >> Yeah. >> Was I in between there too? I don't know. [clears throat] Not the pandemic. It was after the pandemic cuz I was I was working at a um oh gosh a cleaning facility in Bokh >> and then they fired me because remember they had to get rid of everybody who was working as um cleaning people because they didn't want people to come in their homes and clean when during the pandemic right >> after that I end up with seeds home health here but it was a different one before that before them oh gosh what was the name of her but she what did happen was when I was working with her, she got sick and she sold the company to Seeds Home Care. >> So I was working with her for a year first and when she got sick, she sold the company to Seeds Homeare. After that, she hold on to me and she kept me kept me working and doing what I was supposed to do with her basically. >> What were um some of your responsibilities with that? >> My responsibility was making sure to take care of her, clean her, bait her. if I needed to go grocery shopping, of course, she would give me the card and we go grocery shopping and I pick up groceries for her. Um do errands for her, anything she wanted, that's what that's what I fall into category, right? And um that's what the basic things about that. Um again, taking care of her and making sure she's okay. >> As the interview continues, the suspect tells detectives she used the victim's credit card for grocery shopping, >> making sure she don't fall. Um, I was there, you know, eight hours a day sometimes. Sometimes I I would be there a little longer. Depends on how she want me to. I take her to a doctor's appointment. I was her caregiver basically for that almost 2 years being with her >> pretty much 8 hours a day. So all day you >> sometimes it all depend sometimes because sometimes but what I mean is when she has to go doctor's appointment, I would stay the day with her because I got to take her to the doctor, bring her back, make sure she's okay cuz I used to make breakfast, lunch, and dinner for her every day because she's a she's a lady. She likes homemade cooking food. That's what she likes. She don't like to buy food outside and bring it in or whatever like fast food or anything, >> you know. She doesn't like all of that stuff. Once in a blue moon, she would order a pizza and the people would come and or drop it off, etc., etc., and do what they supposed to do at that point of time. So, okay. >> I mean, that's how that's how my relationship was with her. >> Gotcha. >> Right. So when you would go grocery shopping, would you pay for it and then she'd reimburse you or >> No, she would give me the credit card and I would use it to pay for the grocery shopping and bring back all the receipts for her basically and give it to her in her hand. >> Okay. >> Basically. >> Did you ever use her car to buy anything for yourself? >> Honestly, maybe once or twice, but that was it. I didn't do any. And I put gas in the car. >> For what kind of stuff? >> Like for um basically what did we What did we buy? like um sometimes she would send me to Ross to pick up a pillow or I would just pick up one or two little items and that's it. Not much to talk about and that was it. >> The detective now turns to one of the most important questions in the interview. >> So, >> did you order or did you open a Door Dash account with her credit card? >> No, I didn't. I didn't open no account with her credit card. So, she said I open a Door Dash account with her credit card. Well, no. There is a Door Dash account under your name. >> That's my Yeah, that was her address. >> That was mine because we was ordering food sometimes. Sometimes she would let me order food for her. Okay. >> But once in a while, not all the time. >> For her or for yourself? >> For both of us. I would order for both of us. Cuz she would say, "Well, you want to order some food?" Sometimes, not all the time. Again, as I say, sometimes, not all the time. So, >> okay. What about um ATM withdrawals? Well, maybe I did it one time, but that was it. I can't really remember what I did. Sometimes I'm just Cuz sometimes, >> listen, can I tell you I appreciate you being honest with me because a lot of times we sit in this room and people are not honest and they lie through their teeth. So, I do appreciate that, but I'm telling you the truth. So, >> let's let While we're being honest, I really appreciate it. Let's just lay it all out. How many times do you think you went to the ATM? >> Maybe to take out cash. >> A couple of times. >> Like more than two. More than three. >> Maybe three or four times. Okay. Do you remember how much you would take out, give or take? >> Maybe $100, $120. Nothing over $200 or $300. >> Okay. >> That's all I would do. >> Was that just you were under hard times or you know >> because remember what possessed me to do it is because sometimes working with these old people, don't don't get me wrong, they get you a little frustrated. >> Okay. >> Um if you understand what I mean. Sometimes she would just sometimes she would have me going out all day just to pick up items for her. If she don't like this, I have to go back out and pick up another one. If she don't like that, okay, well, this is not what I want. You have to go back and take it back and get it done. But this is how the old people acts. If I bring back something that's wrong, she said, "Take it back. Refund your money and get something else." >> But but it's frustrating being working with her every single day. I work with her seven days a week. The suspect explains that caring for the elderly woman was challenging and while the detective listens, he's still focused on the allegations against her. >> I will tell you, I took a couple statements from her and she is uh she has a character. She has a character. I'll tell you that much. She's a strong personality. >> She does have a strong personality, but the problem is sometimes she just makes you nuts. >> And again, I work with her seven days a week and all she used to want was me, me, me. She never wanted nobody else. >> No other caregivers. >> No other caregivers to come in. And every time other people would come in, she would quarrel with me. She would argue with me. Why? Why do you have to go? Don't go. Stay here with me. I don't like She doesn't like the characters. Um, how how can I >> the other version stuff? >> How can I What do I call you, detective? What do I PCO? Yeah, sure. >> Can I call you by your first name? >> Jordan. >> Jordan. Thank you, Jordan. >> Sure. Sometimes she have sometimes when I have to take time off to be with my family because I have my mother and my father and those are the only two people that I have. I lost my brother two years ago. >> I lost my brother 2 years ago. >> I'm sorry to hear that >> because [laughter] he was sick and it it hurts because sometimes I couldn't even spend time with them because she only wanted me every day. Every day it's like Michelle, you're not leaving me. You're not leaving me. Sometimes I had to lie to her to tell her look I have somebody coming in blah blah blah whatever whatever she's like no you can't have anybody else you have to be here with me >> I she was very demanding and very controlling >> although she was 90s something years old >> and even though she was like a grandmother to me a great grandmother >> right >> you understand every >> you had a close relationship >> we had a we had a close relationship and the thing about it is again as I said I have my mother and my father those are the only two people I have >> so when you would get frustrated like that? Was that kind of like your way of getting back at her kind of for the frustration or >> sometimes? Not all the time. And you know, honestly, Jordan, I I regret everything. >> And again, as I said, she only wanted me. Again, I couldn't go out with my parents. I couldn't do anything because again, she only wanted me. >> The interview continues as the suspect explains how much of her daily life revolved around caring for the victim. >> It kind of consumed your life. >> So, I cut Exactly. for the two years, for the past two years, I consume in my life with her. Everything, anything she wanted, even if I was home, oh, Michelle, don't forget to pick up so and so and so and so, don't forget to get so and so and so and so. That's how I used to be. I didn't even have a car, Jordan. Sometimes my other car would shut down. I had to walk to work from where I live to where she >> from North Lauderdale. >> From North Lauderdale to Tamarak. Yes, >> that is like >> Yes, Jordan. I had it to walk. I had even one couple of times in the rain I had to walk to work. I left home at 8:00 in the morning. I had to be there for 8:00. I left home at 6:00. I reached exactly 8:00. It take me 2 hours to walk from where I live in just to be with her. >> That's tough. >> I took care of her with all everything I had. Jordan, and this is what she's doing to me to to begin with. >> Well, I mean, I I can see from your point of view that it's it's a lot. It might have been overwhelming at the time, but let's let's call it what it is, right? Let's call it what it is. You you were doing some stuff that you shouldn't be doing. >> It's true. And I and I tell you as it is and and it's true. >> And look, we're all human. We do things we're not supposed to do. >> Exactly. It's a mistake. All of this is just a mistake. I mean, again, as I said, and then when they fire me, my head went up the roof. And what had happened two weeks ago? My father worked for the city of Fort Lauderdale and he fell off the truck. So he he damaged his leg. I took care of her the best that I could have take care of her. >> She never Yeah. She never said that you mistreated her or anything like that. I'll give you that much. I never >> She said that you were good and and >> she was surprised when her daughter had brought her all this stuff on her account and showed her what happened. You know, >> it was it was a lot for her. By this point, the investigation centers on nearly $6,000 in alleged unauthorized transactions. >> Again, as I said, I regretted it. It was a mistake. I mean, I would never do that again to anybody in my life. I mean, >> let me ask you if you um because there's a lot. If you had to add it all up, do you know how much more or less it was? >> I can't remember. Honestly, I don't know how much it is. Maybe it might be about5 or $6,000. I I don't know. I'm just guessing, >> right? No, I don't expect you to know what's actually. I'm just saying >> like a ballpark number. You think it's probably that much? >> I I don't know. I don't know. I really don't know. >> Would you be willing to pay it back to her? >> I would pay her back if you want me. I could do a payment plan and pay her back if you want me to. >> That would be through the courts later if if you know that's something that you could you could um bring up >> arrange with them. Let them know that you'd be willing to pay it back. My uh my mother-in-law is actually a home health aid in Miami >> and yeah, I hear some of the same issues that you're having. >> Um listen, it's I I can't go back in Monday morning quarterback and say you should have done this and you should have I know I know it. It's just one of those. >> It's just one of those days. So, >> but >> if we look at it and I believe in calling a spade a spade and it is what it is. >> You you did steal from her, used her information and stole from her. I mean, that's pretty bad. That's my that that's on mine. That's on me. >> So now there's just consequences and you'll face them and move forward and hopefully learn and grow. >> Okay. >> You know, but I I appreciate you being honest and >> and just basically it probably feels good to get it off your chest. >> Yes, it does. >> Yeah. I imagine when when I saw your face at the door, I I could tell you knew what was going on. You you already knew what was happening. >> I'm just >> So I'm glad you were able to get it off your chest at least. So give me a few. Following the investigation, the woman was charged with grand theft, exploitation of an elderly person involving less than $20,000, and fraudulent use of another person's identification without consent. Landscaper didn't know he was being watched. On September 12th, 2025, officers were dispatched to a residence after a homeowner reported that their landscaper had allegedly been caught stealing from the home. Here's what happened when officers arrived. >> Stealing from us. >> See a white shirt. >> Yeah. Where'd you put the bag? >> Not me. >> Oh, yeah. You did. >> That's my brother. >> Is he in the white shirt? >> No. Yeah, the dude. No. No. No. No. He's gone. >> He just left. When When you were just talking, he just left. >> I just saw you. >> Was it him? >> I saw him put freaking bag of >> You're the only person that's been here. >> I freaking The only person I've seen is you. Have Have you seen anybody else? >> Who just left in the car? >> I HAVE. NO, I HAVEN'T SEEN ANY other car. >> Stay over here. Stop walking. >> Hey, Caroline. >> Caroline. In the dude. Just leave. You're in that white car. Just left that white car. >> Yes. >> What's his name? >> What happened? >> What's his name? >> Did he carry a a a >> a bag? >> A bag. A silver garbage bag. >> Yes. What happened with that? >> He's still What is he driving? What was that car? I don't know if it was a camera or what, but whatever. >> A silver a silver car. >> The officers now turn to the suspect who claims the missing items may have been taken by someone who had already left the residence. >> He just left in the white car. >> Was he one of your crew? >> No, I don't know him. He said he was doing a roofing. >> He said he was doing a roofing. >> Okay. >> Remember the dude say he was doing a roofing. He said he'd be back at 4:00. >> I don't know what time he said. >> He said 4:00. He'll be back at 4:00. The dude with the roofing. Did anybody actually see this guy grab the bag? >> Besides, she said that she saw the bags. >> I saw the bag. It was a silver bag. >> You saw the items in there and then put them back. >> Put back cuz I didn't want him to think that I caught him before you guys got here. You know what I'm saying? Cuz he would have bolted, right? >> And then um when it came out, I was like when you guys I saw you guys coming up, I started to go around to look for him because I was like like I started calling to him. Um, >> where were they? Where was the bag at? >> It was in a um >> where up by the house? >> Oh, behind the house. I can show you if you want, but um it's in like a a wagon which was full of uh yard debris. And then he put the garbage bag on top of it. Y debris. So I went and I was like, "Okay, that yard debris is it's gone." I was like, "Hm." Like I started looking around thinking, did he dump, you know, did he dump it behind the house or something? cuz there's a wooded area behind the house. So, >> and it was this Mr. Green character that grabbed it. >> You saw him move that bag and place. >> Yes, I did. Yep. I was literally I was like I came in the house. >> So, this has nothing to do with Mr. Rogers over there. >> No. >> No. Okay. >> It's not the gentleman in the world. >> Okay. And then when I um cuz he was asking me for a phone number um for maybe this is a detective maybe because I've been dealing with a the detective today. >> So you've got the the the coins. >> No. >> According to the homeowner, the missing collection is worth approximately $50,000. >> They took them. They got them. >> How did they get them? I thought you retrieved them. So, I grabbed them, but I put them back because I didn't want them to think that I caught on to them and let them bolt. And I was like watching them and everything. And then I guess they went to the side of the house when I was trying. We were doing like that whole circle thing where they were moving exactly the same time. But I never saw another car. I never saw any white car. And I know he didn't drive that car. It had to be somebody else driving that car. >> So, you have thousands of dollars in coins. You see the guy take them out, take them in the bag, put them underneath the trash pile or whatever it was. >> I gave you guys the inventory and >> you you grab them. >> I put it back because I didn't want him to put it back in the >> the bin that there's like it's a little wagon that holds >> So you put it back outside. >> Yeah, cuz I was afraid he was going to bolt cuz he would see that I was on to him. >> Why don't you just put it back in the house? cuz I was afraid like if he saw that move then he would have bolted and I didn't want to do anything until you guys got here and everything cuz if he bolted then I'd had you screwed. >> I guess they found your bag. >> Oh, >> that's Rogers. Me and her screw. >> Huh? >> Heard me out. >> She gave me everything. >> Listen, she No. No. She gave you everything. >> Rogers, this ain't this ain't the first time I got you for the same thing, boss. Just me and her. Shut up. We stop. Until we get everything figured out, you going to stay in cuss and you going to wait until I figure it out. >> All right. >> Come over here. >> Listen. Me and her screwing. >> Okay, great. I don't care right now. >> Me and her. >> Okay. You got nothing on you. Hold on. >> No. >> Face. >> Me and her is screwing. >> You hear me? >> Me and her screwing. >> She gave >> I don't see how that matters. But before you before you keep talking, we're going to read you something. Okay. >> No. All right. No more writes. I want >> Yeah, but we got to read. >> We still got We got to do We got to read. >> You know You know the You know the game, man. Now at this point the officers advise the suspect of his Miranda rightites before asking any further questions. >> You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can be used against you to court law. You have the right to talk to a law and have him present with you before and during any question. Not a hire lawyer won't be appointed to represent you before and during questioning if you wish at any time to exercise these rights. I answer any questions or make any statements. Understanding you constitutional rights to explain to you. >> Yes sir. >> Having confirmed your understanding of each constitutional right. You voluntarily andly wave your constitutional right and wish to speak to me now. >> Yes sir. >> Yeah. Hey man, I'll ask you once. >> All right, >> cuz I'm cool just taking it. >> All right, >> what happened? >> All right, listen. >> Walk me through the whole story and it better make sense. >> Okay, this the truth. She didn't have any money one day. Her dad was gone. She said she on pills. She showed me. We messed around. >> Come over here. >> Come over here so everybody can hear. We mess around and she say, "Um, you can have that change right there." I was I was cleaning up. She said, "You can have it." I said, "You sure?" She said, "Yeah." So, got it. The mom I didn't know the mom was in that kind of state. You know what I'm saying? The mom's like, "Yeah, yeah, yeah." So, got changed and I asked the dad. He let me borrow um let me borrow like $800. The dad bought $800 and I paid him that back. Man, we've been tight ever since. You know what I'm saying? >> So, he she just gave you these coins. >> She said I can have those coins. >> Okay. Do you know what? Are they like currency? Like quarters and dimes or what? >> Um like quarters. >> You sweating real hard, right? >> Yeah. No, I'm on medicine. I'm on medicine. >> On medicine? Oh, okay. >> The suspect continues pointing the finger at someone else, but once detectives begin asking for specifics, his story starts falling apart. >> So, um, that happened, but nothing else. >> So, what happened to this other guy that was out here working? >> Oh, Josh. I don't know him. I don't know him. >> Oh, he just showed up out of the blue. >> When I pulled up, he was already here. >> Oh, he was already Okay. >> Go. >> I guess he the one put the sign the roofing sign up. >> Oh, he put the roofing sign. He say you back at 4. >> Okay. So, what are you out here doing? >> I just put the rock down right there. >> What was your What did he pay you to come out here to do? >> He didn't pay me anything today. >> So, what what why are you out here? >> Cuz I supposed he already paid me for the rock. That's what I was talking about. >> Lay rock. >> Yeah. >> Okay. You didn't do nothing with trimming bushings or done? >> No. >> Okay. Did you rip out any like plants or anything? >> No. >> Okay. Whose black wheelbarrow is that in the back? >> That's his black wheelbarrow. >> Okay. And you didn't do nothing with it. >> Look. Look. You can look at me tell there's no no leaves, no no nothing. You said you laying rock, but >> rock. You see the rock right there? >> Yeah, but make it make sense. >> See the rock right there? Look, you can look at my boots and tell the rock I lay rock. You can tell I don't lay no nothing. But no, >> your story don't really make too much sense to me. So hang out for a minute. Okay. >> Do you see anything with weeds on me? >> Yeah, man. You got >> your legs. Put your legs in. >> Do you see anything with weeds on you? >> Your stuff's here. >> I'm just letting you know. >> I'm not. All right. So, here we have one bag. This is the bag we believe he stole today. >> Okay. >> All right. Let's come over here real quick and take a look at this one. You rolling? >> Yeah. Yeah. I am. >> Oh, okay. That is an update. >> This might be the bag you reported originally that I'm investigating. >> Okay. Yeah, there were 16 um sets. >> Okay. >> So, >> take a look and just don't touch anything. Just tell me. >> That 100%. Yes, >> that's the original. >> Well, yeah, I think it is. Just want to >> Yes, because you see that that red, white, and blue. >> Yep. one of the ones that attend a picture in the >> easiest. This is good timing. >> Yeah. >> All right, let's take a look at this one real quick. >> The missing coin collection is finally [music] accounted for after investigators recover it from trash bags discarded in nearby woods. Yes. Yes. And >> that's from today. >> Yeah, that's today. >> All right. >> Yeah, >> I have everything. Easy enough. >> Good. Now, listen. >> After this, surveillance cameras. >> Yeah, I know. >> Maybe lock this stuff away. It's so expensive. >> I know. That's what I keep telling my dad. Stop putting >> But you know, old people, they don't want to listen to anybody. display the nice things you have. I just want >> Hey, I'm going to start >> bringing this stuff out. >> I want to start bringing this stuff out. >> This stuff. Hang on. I want to photo Can you photograph it? >> I got I got it already. >> Okay. >> Thank you. >> 3624. Unlock your vehicle. This thing can't breathe and he's kicking your doors. >> You did kick the door. You yell. You're yelling quite a lot for somebody that can't breathe. Look at me, man. I can't breathe. >> Oh, you're yelling. >> Cuz I can't breathe. >> I'm not a scientist, but if you can't breathe, you can't yell. It's normally how that works. When you're not yelling, you're screaming and kicking my door. >> If you continue to do so, I won't. You bump the door twice. You keep doing that, I'm putting you in a hobble, and it's going to get very uncomfortable. >> You never liked me, bro. >> This is This is the third time I'm out with you for the same thing. >> For the same What? >> Yeah. Yalaha last time with a eater, leaf blower, whatever it was. >> That wasn't that wasn't true. >> The man, the people let us let me hold that. >> Okay, we did you a favor and we didn't take you that day >> because you magically made it reappear and gave it back to them. But I'm not going to argue over you with past events. >> So, what's going on right now? >> I don't know. Close. Put your feet back in the car. I'm going to close the door. >> Can I talk to the officer? the black officer. Please, >> I will get him to come down there. You want You want my supervisor? He's my supervisor. I'll come down here for you. >> With few questions left to answer, officers begin explaining what comes next for the suspect. >> My wife won't have anything to do with me. >> No, she genuinely seems like she doesn't. >> She don't. >> And she's not in trouble. But if you go out and say this woman here is forcing herself, trying to force honestly, me and her have no >> Okay. No, it's God is true. >> Tell her about that she was being crazy that shock me. I'm saying >> you can't go around stealing. >> Yeah. Yeah. >> I mean that that you know we can't lock you up because you won't do what she wants to do. That ain't a crime. >> So what you think the charge is going to be good? >> Well grant that dealing with stolen property. >> Not murder, right? >> Not murder. Doug, you were invited into the home. >> Grand duck is less than burglar. >> H >> grand duck is less than burglar. >> Yeah. But I mean, you talk about the amount of grand duck. There's over $20,000 in coins back there. >> So, what did you take out there today that was on the cart that you took back there today that she saw? That's why we're here today because you took more. >> No, I didn't take nothing today. >> What was on what was on that gorilla cart? That yard. That lawn cart. Why did it bring back? You brought it where? >> Huh? >> You brought it where? Where did you bring it to? Where did you bring it from? >> And it was already in the back already. >> In the back of what? >> Back of the house. >> So it was still on the house property and you took it today and moved it through the back of the woods and the plan was come up here. What? Tonight? >> No. >> You come collect it. Pull the plant. >> There's nothing in there. >> Nothing in them. >> No. >> Oh, they're full. They are full. >> Huh? with cases and coins. Yep, they're full. Do I need to fingerprint every one of them? Have CSI come out here and fingerprint every coins in >> Oh, you took all the coins out of the box. Where are they all at? >> Huh? >> You took all of them to run? >> No, those those Yeah. >> With the suspect interview complete, officers returned to the homeowners to hear their side of the story and ask how they'd like to move forward. >> But I'm writing my my version out. >> He can't write his out. >> Yeah. Okay. >> Just to let you know, but I am writing mine out right now, but this is his. >> Okay. >> Okay. >> And just confirming you do want to prosecute. Correct. >> Uh >> you better say yes. >> Do you feel you have a case? >> Yes, absolutely. >> Okay. Now prosecute. >> Okay. >> Yes, sir. Can you tell my wife want something one more time for him, please? >> For what? >> I need extra. I just want to give her a kiss, please. >> Yeah. Just hang tight, dude. Mr. Rogers. What's in Oh, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. >> What's in them boots? >> Nothing in my boots. >> Okay, take them off. I ask my wife to take them. I ask my wife to take the boots. You think something in the boots? >> I mean, I've never once told my wife, "Hey, come take my shoes. I'm going to jail." That's not a common >> I didn't want my boots to go in the jail house. I just bought those. >> You know they go with your property, right? >> Go to prison, man. >> Why would you go to prison? >> Hey. >> Hey, I just want to be crazy. You just want >> Hey, nobody told you to get the out. The only one being crazy here is you. >> Yeah, that was a real dumb move. I already told you once. Well, you can catch that felony. I asked you. I'm giving you a chance to be honest. >> I'm not even riding in this car. >> Yes, you are. >> No, this man told me I'm riding in that car up there. >> That's all right. I'm going to make sure I take you. >> I don't want you to take me. >> That's tough. >> The investigation would later end with a man being charged with grand theft involving property valued at $20,000 or more.
