On August 13th, 2025, deputies responded to a disturbance call where a woman reported that a man was breaking items inside a residence, but dispatch was unable to re-establish contact with her prompting officers to respond faster. Laurel Stevens was taken into custody and faces multiple charges, including battery on law enforcement officers, resisting arrest, and aggravated battery. Urban Daw, the victim in the initial disturbance, sustained minor lacerations to his face and ankle after Stevens threw a glass coffee table at him during the altercation inside the residence. Despite visible injuries, he declined medical treatment at the scene. One deputy suffered a dog bite to the leg and was transported to the hospital, where he received medical treatment. Another deputy was also evaluated by medical personnel due to exposure to bodily fluids after being spit on during the arrest. The official police report does not mention any RICO charges or any related information.
