110 is the 28 officer one of the LPRs. On January 10th, deputies in Flagler County pulled over a vehicle linked to a shoplifting case at Target. The driver brushes off the accusations until a search of her car reveals more than just stolen items, forcing officers to take her into custody. 110 10-50 in front of DR Quality Roofing. Made a U-turn on South Bunnell Road. Hello. How are you? Ma'am, I'm with Flagler County Sheriff's Office. I'm stopping you because this vehicle uh was possibly involved in a shoplifting from Target. They provided the description very well of the vehicle, description of you know, you. Do you have your driver's license with you? I don't have Yeah, I don't you know. All right, thanks. Yeah, so I mean you essentially know what I know right now. I mean there's a deputy there that has confirmed it and they're trying to get all the details hashed out, but they provided a very clear description of the vehicle which matches this description, almost an identical tag number. So, just uh hang out, okay? You don't have any weapons in the vehicle or anything? Okay. So, where are you headed today? Where? Interlachen. Interlachen? Okay. What brings you to Palm Coast? Just driving through from Edgewater. Just driving through from Edgewater? What takes you out to uh Interlachen? I'm staying at my father's lake house. You're going through to worse? >> And my mother has a lake house there. Your mother has a lake house? Okay. Uh just hang tight for a couple minutes. I'm just kind of trying to figure out what's going on. I just rolled up so I don't you know. I'm just here standing by for safety. I don't really know a whole lot what's going on, so. How come you stopped at Target? Just just to shop because I like buying some Legos, so. You're buying and selling Legos? So, you were shopping but you didn't get anything? >> end up getting anything. You didn't get anything? No. So, they just didn't have what you were looking for? Right. Yeah. How long were you in Target for? 10 minutes or so? Okay. What do you do you do that as a side business or what? Yeah. Buy, sell, trade kind of thing. So, what are So, is there like Facebook groups affiliated with that? I mean, how do you How do you go about buy, sell, trading Legos? Word of mouth? Okay. You nervous? You seem like you're shaking a little bit. Yeah. What kind of Legos are like specialty Legos? What do you look for? Is it superheroes? Do you look for princesses or what? Okay. Do different targets carry different product or is it all pretty much the same? You don't know? All right, ma'am. I'm just going to have you step out of the car for me, okay? You can just leave it on the seat. You just hang tight right against car here. You can just lean right against car. Is the key still in the ignition? Is the car on? Okay. Do you mind if I go turn it off real quick and leave the key on the dash? We just don't want it running off on us. Here, open the door real quick. Open the door real quick. What is that? It's a weed pipe? Okay. Do you have your your marijuana card? Medical? No. Cuz I you said that was a weed pipe. You have any weed in the car? How much amount or how much how much weed do you have? Okay. All right. Just real quick, just because there's a lot of cops here, you know, you're on the car, we're standing by. I'm just going to read you your rights real quick, okay? So, these are rights. You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say may be used as evidence against you. You have the right to talk to an attorney and have him or her with you now or at any time during questioning. If you cannot afford an attorney, one will be appointed to represent you. If at any time you wish to stop talking and have an attorney present, all questioning will be stopped at your request. Do you understand these rights? So, you All right, cuz before I was asking you if you had any kind of narcotics, anything illegal in the car, any weapons. So, you know, uh So, where where's the weed at? Cuz I You can just tell me where it is. It's in a rubber pink and green thing. Okay. Do you mind if my partner looks? No. No. All right. So, real quick, before I go search your vehicle or anything, would you mind just going to the back of his vehicle, so that way we're not as close to traffic, and so you are aware that thing is sharp, so I don't want you getting hurt. Okay. We got a couple cars backed up there. We just don't want to see you get hurt or anything. There's a lot of traffic out here. Traffic moves fast. While searching her vehicle, the officer finds the marijuana she mentioned, along with stolen merchandise from Target. I'm starting to pick up a few uh different things. These are some brand new shoes in a Target bag, no tags. Um there's a lot of like Target bags that are in this um pressed like state. Here's a Walmart roll. Here's a Target roll. Blank receipt papers. Like but on the back is the store paper. Right there. Has she provided consent for the vehicle or not? Yeah. Um She provided consent for the um marijuana in the center console, which I have located here. If we are towing it off the side of road, we can do we can do a search uh listen to tow at that point. Any other kind of narcotics in the car? Crack, cocaine, fentanyl, heroin? No. Any syringes? Looks like you. Look a lot like you. Thank you. No. We're going to do a show-up and uh the deputy's going to bring by the witness that we have and they're going to say whether or not that they whatever they observed was uh you or not. I didn't take anything from there. Well, I mean uh according to them, you passed all lines of sale, got out of the store, and they recovered the property outside the outside the uh doors. I was not outside the doors. You can see Okay. Sounds to me that you have kind of an issue with this stuff and maybe you should get some help, you know. I'm having a rough time right now. Honestly, like I'm going through a divorce and I'm being sued. So, people who do shoplifting do it for the thrill or are they on hard times? >> Both. But, you know, it may seem like not a big deal to you, but the the the these big corporations, they just write it off and they end up raising the prices of everything else. So, the people who work their butt off to pay for stuff like me, I end up having to pay more for stuff like that. I mean, my shoplifting bill or shop shopping bill is more because of theft. Well, we're we're doing a show-up. You're not Is there any way that if he's like can I get a notice to appear? Uh we need to The issue is you're not from here, you know. We We issue NTAs for people that are Flagler County residents and we have a belief that No. We issue NTAs for people who believe are actually show up. Like I would show up. I've had family members arrested by the this same agency and they go to jail. Like it's the favoritism crap doesn't work here, you know? We have a professional responsibility, so that's how it works. What we were talking about earlier, the Legos, is that typically what you typically what you look for or just pretty much anything? Anything of value. You understand our We were just We're literally trying to piece the puzzle together, like what the heck is going on because they're saying something, you say something, and somewhere in the middle of all that is like, you know, actually what happened. So >> Well, there's cameras there. >> Yeah, yeah, exactly. >> saying that I wasn't out of this door. Right. All right, what's your first name? Tracy. Tracy? >> Yes. All right, Tracy, stand up, turn and face the car. Put your hands behind your back like you're clapping. Put your palms together. You've been cooperative. I'll try to take it easy on your hand here. She's got a tiny little wrists. All right, Tracy, come over here to back of my car. >> I don't want to get in the car cuz I'm a female subject. I mean, they can bring her over there. All right. That's fine. Before you get in the car, though. Right, that's fine. Let's just walk walk back to my vehicle. So, you guys are definitely taking me to jail? Yeah, right now at this point you're under arrest. I mean, you've been doing this for a while now, right? I mean, why I I heard the the record and the warrants and stuff with with outside agencies and stuff and What warrants? What? So, that's what he The other deputy was talking about was you know, this has been happening, I guess, in other counties and stuff like that. No, okay. Are there warrants in other counties? I have warrants? Yes, you actually have two. One's been confirmed out of River Road, the other one's waiting on confirmation on the Orange County. Both for grand theft. This one you're also getting a charge of grand theft in our county. So, how does that work? How does it work? Like, what do I do after I travel to the other counties? Do I really go to jail? I assume the detective down there will come get you. a certain I don't exactly know if it's that many more. It's just we're going to the courthouse first, so they'll give you all the information there. Okay. We're going to walk over here and just make sure we're waiting for traffic to clear out. And have a seat. Thank you, ma'am. The suspect was charged with possession [music] of drug paraphernalia and retail theft.
